This is the best Apartment complex I have ever stayed in. Once I locked myself out of my room at 2 am just getting back from work and maintenance came and opened it up for me! The workers here are super friendly and super helpful! Brandon who works in the front office defiantly deserves a raise a well as the leasing manager they're going a great job!

My son lives here and I pay the rent for him while he's going to LCC. Their Internet service has been down and/or intermittent for months. My son comes home once a week and almost every weekend to get his homework done. This place has done nothing to correct the issue, but they still expect their full rent payment. This month my son was charged for two months of utilities. When I went into his portal to make the April payment on April 2nd, That's when I noticed the extra month of utilities. I sent an email from his portal inquiring about the extra month of utilities before I made payment, because it won't let you make any adjustment of the payment from the portal. I went in again today, April 3rd to see if my email had been responded to and noticed that that there was a $75 LATE fee added to the payment. I called the office and spoke to someone who was new as of a few days ago and asked why I'm being charged a $75 late fee and he explained that it needed to be paid by the 3rd. I told him it IS the 3rd. He then said well it needed to be paid by the 3rd but also by 9am on the 3rd. ? So now, there is his regular rent due, plus an extra month of utilities, plus a $75 late fee. What a racket! I paid the entire total today because I was told that I probably won't receive a refund for the $75 late fee. Oh, and the Internet still stinks there. My contract is up in July and he will be moving elsewhere for next year. STAY AWAY from this place! They are not a fair property management company, just money hungry!

I have lived here for almost one year now and I would just like to say that not only are the front desk staff great, but so are the maintenance crew. Armando and Doug were the ones who cam to fix my maintenance requests today and not only did they come the same day that I put in the requests, but they helped me with requests I didn't even make until they got there. They not only fixed my horribly crooked door and burnt lightbulb but also took the extra time to move my stove out of the way and investigate why our above stove light wasn't working. Then, they let me vacuum back there and fixed the light for me! I know that in the pas, under different management the Landings has gotten not so great reviews-- but, Peak really has done a great job at turning this place around. The apartment quality is great, the staff is friendly and the maintenance is worked on quickly and their staff are very friendly. I hope Doug and Armando fix my next maintenance issues too!

The poor new management charged my roommate just because of their work negligence and claimed my roommate's assistance dog was unauthorized. How could a dog who lived in this community for nearly 3 years be unauthorized???!!!
Even after my roommate completed the new pet verification as they required (which was approved), the management still hasn't removed the fine charges. This's how the new management treats assistance dog, and special needs people like my roommate.
Find someone to help my roommate instead of not replying to emails!!!

Absalon was great; very engaging and friendly, representing the Landings well. We had a great time chatting with him and wish him all the best! Matt, also, is a pancake master, and we're so thankful for his mad skills. Great experience!

In all my time here I have had nothing but good experiences. I ve worked with Mary a few times and she is always upbeat and willing to help. I think that maintenance does amazing job. I would suggest this property to anyone, but I recommend that for a little extra money go for the emerald option over the spartan.

The internet here is absolutely worthless. You can't even open up google at times. The management is aware of this issue and has taken no steps to fix it. With everyone taking online classes, it's very problematic. Do not believe the five stars (they're probably for a free pizza session).

I am writing this not as a resident at the landings but as someone who has friends that are living there and other acquaintances who live there.

The current internet situation that is plaguing them has been on going for the past year and has just got worse and worse since them. The current management has done no initiatives in order to better the situation and legitimately do not care for their residents.

I am currently at my wits end as it is seemingly IMPOSSIBLE to actively coordinate with my acquaintances that live there for working on projects.

I find it absolutely abhorrent that the current management is not taking into consideration the necessity for a decent internet connection especially in these trying times where the need for a stable internet connection is a necessity in order to conduct any kind of learning through most education centers, work, or any kind of professional activity.

Since they are under new management, the whole place is so much better. The people in the office are super understanding and willing to help at any cost, my personal favorite being Absalon. Maintenance repairs are completed the same day the requests are put in and they do a very good job, especially with difficult tasks. The people who lived in my roommate's room last year had a cat and the carpet wreaked of cat pee, so they repaired all of the carpet in her room as well as the padding underneath. They also came in and re-painted the kitchen for us because there were SOO many fry oil stains from previous tenants that we couldn't get out.

I wish I could give zero stars. When you move in, the apartment WON'T be spotless clean, but when you move out, they expect it to be. Then, when you think you've paid your last bill on your lease, they send a bill for everything that wasn't left spotless. Even when you try to dispute it, they will still make you pay. Then, they'll just stop responding to your dispute emails. Also, they make you pay full rent disregarding the fact that you can't use ANY amenities (included in the rent payment) that are closed due to COVID-19. I'm not happy at all, but just be aware of this before moving in. Going to pay this bill to be done with it. Hope I helped somebody.

TERRIBLE!!! The management has RUINED what used to be a great property.

I was psyched when I first signed my lease here- they showed me all these great "amenities" throughout the property- tanning beds, multiple pools and hot tubs, this awesome theatre with surround sound and stuffed reclining seats, and much more- it looked great! DON'T BE FOOLED, none of it works! Don't believe the pics you see online or in their pamphlets, go look at the stuff yourself before signing. The internet HARDLY works, it's down right now, as it does all the time, and when it is working it is painfully slow. The jacuzzi jets almost never work. Out of the 3 tanning beds at the Landings, 2 of them are literally broken into pieces and have been that way the whole time I've lived here. The theatre... When I signed up they went on and on about how they made this huge investment on the place- and I'm sure they did, it was awesome- but a month later someone stole the main receiver, rendering the whole thing useless- all that's there now is a big tv with no functionality.

The most frustrating thing about this is the nonchalant attitude the staff has about it all! And Landings, please don't reply to this review with the standard "we're sorry, please contact us if your not satisfied" comment- because I HAVE, many times, and I always get the exact same response- either they claim its the "first time" they've heard about whatever problem it is (even when I already asked about it several times before,) or they casually say "we're working on it." I'm SO TIRED of hearing "we're working on it," because they clearly are NOT. What's worse, whenever I press them on these things, they always end up blaming the tenets themselves, as if it's MY fault nothing works around here. That $1,000+ receiver that was stolen was COMPLETELY unsecured in any way, just sitting there, and there are no cameras anywhere (despite what they tell you.) What did they expect would happen!?

Bottom line- this place WOULD be a pretty nice place to live, but this huge management company has made sure that is isn't. Not worth your $$$!

This is definitely the worst place! If you decided to live here, MAKE SURE you are prepared for several "welcome". First, READ your contract CAREFULLY, FOR REAL! Never miss one single term because that could get you into huge trouble later on. Second, DO NOT believe a single word from the leasing office. If they say they'll get your sink fixed, that probably won't happen for another week! ONLY take their word when it's written down. If I had any other choices, I would never choose to live there even if rents are FREE!

I just moved in to these apartments about 2 months ago and it has been amazing. Easy to move into, everything was provided when I did move in as well. You get your own bedroom and bathroom, making it perfect for me. Has a mirrored closet and plenty of dresser drawers for clothes or anything else you need. Wifi works well and there is a good selection of channels on the cable. They service is also good on top of that, if you have any questions or ever need anything, just ask the front desk and they will be happy to assist you. Also, if you are going to MSU, the bus stop is right in the front and most of the time, the bus stays for ten minutes before leaving the bus stop, giving you enough time to get there before any class. Definitely would recommend for anyone looking for apartments.

Do not move here if you enjoy your peace and quiet. Walls are so thin that I can here everything from the people above me. It does not help that they are extremely noisy. My first choice was the highest floor but unfortunately I was placed on a lower level floor. I feel that I pay too much in rent to have these types of issues. I have tried reaching out to Mgmt several times but they will do very little to accommodate you.

I have lived at the Landings since August of 2017. The price is very reasonable and the apartments are a great value for the rent you pay. I love how big the bedrooms are and the private bathrooms are a HUGE plus at the rental rate. The maintenance staff is always prompt and friendly and we have never had to wait more than 48 hours for something to get fixed. Additionally, the leasing office staff, particularly Chris, is very amenable and ALWAYS willing to help solve a problem! Overall, great for-value student housing.

I lived at the Landings my Junior and Senior year at MSU and never really had any issues. Maintenance was always timely and did a good job. Sure it's a little far from campus but you get a bus pass in your rent. For all that's included and the lowest prices around, it's by far the best apartment option. I highly recommend the Landings to anyone looking for an apartment near MSU. Plus, they're pet friendly and seeing a few doggos after a stressful day of college never hurt.

I had a great experience when I viewed the apartments. With cable and internet included I know that this place would be affordable for my new college student.

The young man in the office is very helpful and reassured me that things would be alright for my freshman. Thank you Absalon, I really appreciate your honesty.

I love it that how Colton Gimler, leasing consultant at landings, goes out of his way to satisfy your needs. They do awsome job for roommate matching too!:) Their maintenance does amazing job. I like all the amenities, the price isn't that bad, and you get a free bus pass along with other perks. However, it is way too far from campus and the neighborhoods around there, that is literally my least favorite thing about the place, which is why I won't be returning next year. If you don't mind living far or driving everywhere, then this place isn't so bad. Also, the staff can be a little lazy and the heating isn't that great. But other than that I love having my own room and bathroom and the apartment itself is suffice.

If I can give a zero i will definitely do that, to whom want to stay here, just one advice. DO NOT DO THAT! Those five stars are all fake reviews, few month ago the rate is still one or maybe two stars. By the way, Landings go change your accountant he cant even cash a check right.

Dangerous, poor internet/cable and poor management...

Dangerous, poor internet/cable and poor management

The management is poor. They will charge you for bags of garbage left outside of the compactor when it's full but it's their responsibility to make this go away. Where else can you keep your garbage? In your car or apartment? Is that a health concern?

In addition, they wouldn't allow me to move in a week early despite having classes to attend - should I sleep outside? Or are there apartments renting for weekly leases? What does one do?

Additionally the place is notorious in East Lansing as being dangerous. I've personally been threatened outside of my apartment by a stranger for no apparent reason. There was just an armed robbery and there have been two major fires in the past year and a half. These are not exaggerations but just facts.

The Internet is poor and its compulsory. You aren't allowed to get any other service. If you are into online gaming this place is not for you. In addition you have to register all your devices with Airwaves networks that aren't a computer and by MAC address. It takes them a couple days to get that device into the system and clear it. Inconvenient to say the least. The cable is also part of airwaves and to find out what is on you have to turn to channel 2 and watch the screen scroll slowly up close to 80 potential channels. It's a very dated system.

There is no covered parking or assigned spots and in some places you may be forced to park a significant distance from your apartment.

Security isn't their often so the apartment complex isn't really secure. I worry about my apartment being broken into or my car being vandalized. The positive posts are likely people that work for the Landings who are also students.

Expect to get legal evictions notices if your rent is a day late or somehow behind for a very brief time.

Do some research and find a safer, nicer place. It is a bit far - several miles down Abbot/Chandler Rd.

Over the course of this year living in landings it...

Over the course of this year living in landings it was a really poor experience. Previously they lost my contract for my lease, I didn't find out until the month before I was supposed to move in. To solve the problem, they offered me a free installment due to the inconvenience. For the first 6 months I actively went into the office complaining about the extra and over charges they were making on my account and they failed to address it. I went in once every other week. They told me their accountant was on a short leave, they will get to it as soon as possible, all kinds of excuses.

around the seventh month I finally pursued this problem going to their office everyday to complain. Results were finally made. Last month I installed over a thousand dollars of extra credit into my apartment account for my rent. Even after that, they still tried to charge me for the next month's rent. I called in and Absolon (office worker's name) told me I still had almost a thousand dollar credit, it should suffice until the lease is over. And the past few days I keep getting court of claims emails from the Landings apartment to give money immediately or else I need to hire an attorney. They charge for many things, you won't get emails notifying you when electricity bills come in (which is on a different day than when rent is due) nor do you get notified when they make random charges on your account. The only time you get proper notifications from the office is when they believe you owe them money. Best thing is I have called consecutively the past few days to try and clarify the problem with their computer system about the "supposed charges of 84$ Debt" I owe for this month from a check scan made October of last year. I have not been able to get in contact through phone calls at all, I am away from my apartment for summer holidays. It is near impossible to clarify financial mistakes made in their system. The same thing happened to me during New Years during winter break at the university. I will definitely not recommend an apartment company that cannot manage your payments and overcharge you when you have credit. I have to say I am fairly disappointed with Landings. Previously, the management requested whenever we residents living in the apartments to try and make five star reviews on google as often as possible for them telling that they were a great help to build back their reputation. I held back an entire year from making any posts because I wanted to see if their services were actually worthy of a good review. I don't just want to write "absolon helped me out and he was helpful" and give five stars. that is too misleading for future prospect students who plan on living off campus. This was my first year living off campus and I have to say it was not a wonderful experience. I hope the management of resident payments could be improved before the next school year. I truly hope that Chandler Crossing Landings can work towards improving their management to be worthy of higher reviews. I did not want to give such a low review, but I have made observations over a fair amount of time and found myself greatly disappointed.

Quick heads up - the owner posts these responses, but never reaches out.

Not only do the apartments provide that "at home" ...

Not only do the apartments provide that "at home" experience with more than enough space for you and your roommates, the staff is truly amazing. For this being my first summer in East Lansing, I wouldn't have wanted to sign a lease with any other apartment. The community here is one of a kind, and being able to utilize all the various amenities amongst the 3 Chandler properties only brings the community closer. They have weekly social events / free food which is amazing and is a great way to get to know those around you. Although they are farther from campus, the quality of the apartments and the amenities are worth the distance; plus you're getting a bus pass included into your lease so there's nothing to worry about! I just moved out of the dorms, so this was my first apartment lease, and with that being said, I don't see myself going anywhere else. Brandon Odell was extremely helpful in providing any information I needed in order to take over someone's lease and to look into renewing my current lease. I didn't even know how to sign a check at the time for rent (I know, quite sad), but he was more than happy to help me through it. If it wasn't for such great staff members like Brandon, I wouldn't have felt comfortable enough into signing a lease through the Landings. For the price, space, amenities, community, and excellent staff, the Landings is one of a kind!

I wouldn t recommend living here. 9 years later there is a bill that was sent to me that was thrown in collections. This was a recent bill, that has nothing to do with me. I have called the office and they claim they will call me back but they won t. I don t understand how this happened when I don t even live here anymore and don t even live in Michigan. Do not move here because apparently bills will be sent to you years later that have nothing to do with you after you move out many years later. I still have something on my credit report from them years later that has been resolved yet they will not remove it from my credit report. I have called about this awhile ago and they claim they would call me back and haven t. Again, do not move here because they will mess you up and will not leave you alone after you have moved out years later and once again send bills to collections that has nothing to do with you when you haven t lived there for many years. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Update: I have emailed the apts at the email address they provided days ago and they have never emailed me back. Thanks for your help The landings at Chandler Crossings. Again, DO NOT MOVE HERE.

I have lived here on two separate occasions and my second experience was much better than the first. The reason why I came back to the Landings is because of the unbeatable price (signed on some kind of special).

The amenities such as the gym and bus pass are great but the computers and "free printer" are most often times broken than not.

I found that the biggest issue I had with this apartment complex was with management. There was very little internal communication and I think this was due to no formal way to document tenants' requests/issues. All the workers would say they would take care of an issue (and I believe they were being genuine), but each person would log the demands differently. Some emailed a manager, some wrote down your message on a sticky note, and some gave you the verbal confirmation ("Yep, we'll get that done for you") and you as the tenant could never be sure if your message was properly delivered.

I had several issues with getting maintenance requests and monthly payments resolved. On average, I had to revisit the office about 5 times to get 1 issue resolved. I just had to be extremely persistent on it, which I shouldn't have to be because ain't nobody got time fo dat. Sometimes if I got lucky, I had the opportunity to be helped by the manager who seemed like the only person who could get things done.

Overall, I would recommend living at this place. They're under new management now so perhaps internal communication will improve. Having your own room/bathroom/gym/bus pass was really nice for the deal I got.

I love living at the Landings! I ve lived here since fall of 2017, and have never had anything go wrong. The office management is so friendly and helpful with everything! I ve had lost packages, lost room keys, a broken room key, etc. and they have fixed everything! Absalon in the office is awesome, so helpful! The apartments are like brand new, if you submit a maintenance request they get back to you so fast and fix things the right way, there is free parking, they are always picking up the neighborhood and it looks so clean. We even have security at night which makes me and my parents feel very safe! There is also a dog park which is a huge plus! I go to MSU and one of my roommates goes to LCC and it s convenient for both of us! I would absolutely recommend this apartment to my friends!

I have lived here for almost 2 academic years, I would give this apartment 5 stars based on my experience. First, although the facilities are not super fancy, they are above average level and enough for students. Secondly, the heat+gas fee is not high. As for me, I lived in a 2B2B apartment, the heat+gas fee is around $30-40 in summer and $50~60 in winter, which is the average level among this area. Thirdly, the maintenance service of this apartment is great. If there is any household appliance that does not work, you just need to submit an online service request form, and they will respond to it in a timely manner, mostly within 1~2 business day. Last and most importantly, the staff of Landings are professional, helpful and warm-hearted. (at least for the staff I have met) For example, at the beginning of my current-year lease, the apartment assigned me a new roommate, but our living habits were very different (he stayed up very late and sometimes made noise at night). I complained it to the staff of Landings, Katy. She helped me and accommodate me to another unit (which is very quiet) within 2 days without any fee. In addition, my new unit was upgraded to Emerald level unit from Spartan level because that was the only suitable (quiet, I mean, Katy visited all the available units at that time to see if the new unit works for me) and available 2B2B unit in Landings, but my rent remained the same as before (Spartan) level. So I was really grateful to the staff of landings, especially Katy.

This is the worst apartment I have ever seen. It took a month for the apartment to solve the disconnection problem. And it has not yet been resolved. Often when the game is halfway through, the connection is suddenly disconnected for a few seconds. This situation has been going on for a month, so I hope everyone will consider this apartment carefully.

This place is not worth your money or time to visi...

This place is not worth your money or time to visit, look, invest in. My roommate and I have had one bad experience after another, hence why we moved from this location the first change we got. The first thing that went wrong was when we signed our lease, we were told that we would get a phone call or email about what building we would be in, and when we could move in. As you can imagine we waited and waited as the days ticked away to the point where we had to take time off work to drive up for them just to tell us our placement and to blame us as to why we didn't receive it yet, saying they sent it out. We never received a call, text, email, tweet, Facebook post nothing! Now this left a bad taste in our mouth, but we decided to give them a second chance...BIGGEST MISTAKE WE MADE! Come move in day, our apartment was in the worst condition that we have ever seen. Right when you walked in the door, the pantry door was broken to the point where you could barely fit through the door with your belongings, the bottom of the refrigerator was laying on the floor and the shelves in the kitchen were full of stains and grime that was disgusting. The dining room was a mess to the point the light didn't work, there was an unknown brown substance on the table which we didn't dare touch. The living was just of a mess as anything else, the leather couch was full of scratches and had food, mail, cards, candy etc inside of it to the point of I never wanted to sit on it the whole time we lived there. The status of the bedrooms wasn't much better, the lock to my door was hanging out allowing anyone to enter whenever they wanted, secure right? There was paint on everything from the bed, dresser, desk, door, it looked like they got into a paint war with the furniture and the furniture lost. Also, the people before us must have had a pet because instead of removing the hair, they decided to paint it to the wall, and the carpets were in horrible condition to the point we asked them to have them clean because we didn't like the way the looked and didn't want to be blamed for it later, so their solution yeah they will do it but only one room and the living room, so the other three rooms in the apartment got to have the stains from whomever and whatever lived there before us! As you can imagine we went and brought the status and problems of our apartment to the office, and they told us to wait and one of the managers would be there very soon. Turns out she wasn't even in Lansing, so after waiting two hours we decided to go back and the property manager or VP whatever his title was, informed us of this fact and offered to come investigate. Once he came to our apartment, he got some of the things fixed and the rest he said would come and the big solution he offered to our problems and troubles was to offer us 100 dollars off the rent that our roommate who was moved in without our notice, even though they told us we would be notified at least two days in advance, pays 150 dollars less...some of you are thinking wow what a deal..not! because when we brought this up to them and asked them to lower ours to his rate do to everything that happened their response was well when you signed you were entered into contests and even though you didn't win, there's nothing we can do for you. As you can imagine, we were over joyed and won over by their amazing management skills that we decided to stay with them for the next four years! NOT, THE FIRST CHANCE WE GOT, WE LEFT THE LANDINGS! IT'S A HORRIBLE PLACE TO LIVE! SAVE YOUR MONEY, TIME, ANGER, AND IF YOU HAVE ANY JOY LEFT IN YOUR LIFE, THEY WILL SUCK IT RIGHT OUT OF YOU AFTER ONLY A FEW MOMENTS AFTER TALKING WITH THEM! NOT TO MENTION, TWO FIRES MAKES ME QUESTION THE SAFETY IN MY OWN APARTMENT!

It's a little pricey for how far north it is, but being close to everything on Lake Lansing Rd, at least, is excellent. The speed bumps will kill your car over the year if you do not take them carefully. The staff is always very friendly, and their tanning setup is much better than where I lived previously (The Pointe @ 3636). We had to reset our router a few times a month, but the cable was decent. I was happy that they added security guards to the gates while I was there. Although I'm not sure if they ever ended up catching anything suspicious, at least you always knew there was someone there.

If i could give a negative score I would. This place is an absolute JOKE. Monkeys could run this place better than the management can. They cashed my rent check TWO weeks ago yet I get a "late payment" note today. This is the THIRD time this has happened. They never take care of any damages or if they do it's about a month later, the place had caught on fire multiple times. And the people in the office don't know what they're doing at all!! Never live here. Ever. If you do you'll have so many problems.

Well I haven't even moved in yet and the communication seems a bit dreary. I've kept trying to call them so I can pay my rent. I'm currently living in South Carolina right now before school so it's obviously hard for me to go in personally and get things straightened out. The Online Chat was useless because both times I have attempted to use it no one was available .

If the negative comments weren't enough to keep you away from living here, please know it is not a safe place to live. There was an armed robbery just yesterday and that's not the first time something dangerous has happened. If you value a sense of security and overall well being, this is not where you should be.

My emotional support Golden Retriever and I have lived in this community for almost 3 years. We used to enjoy this pet-friendly environment, but everything has changed since the new management took over.

I was told suddenly that I had to pay $250 lease violation fine because they claimed that my assistance dog was an unapproved pet. They asked to evict my golden just because my dog was excited when greeting and seeking attention with their employee, and they even claimed my dog was aggressive.

I ve submitted all my dog documents to the last management, but no one told me about the new pet verification system after the new management took over for more than HALF A YEAR! So I assumed they got my paperwork during handover.

My pet verification was approved on March 3rd, but they still haven t removed the charges on my account. I m super disappointed with their work efficiency!

Also, I ve been active in facilitating a meeting with their assistant manager to solve my problem several times, but it seems like the manager is too busy every day to meet me.

BTW, they have many unnecessary inspections, even enter the apartment without notifying residents. One of my super important interviews was interrupted because they refused to come later. They re always looking for chances to charge you!

I m not surprised at all about these reviews after the management changed, because they re terrible!

Although my experience leasing at The Landings went fine, I have become severely frustrated living at this apartment complex over time. They are awful with communication when it comes to quarterly inspections. There should be no need to check our apartment three times for living there for not even 9 months. I understand that inspections need to be done, but coming unannounced or with little notice is an invasion of privacy and unprofessional. Rating 2 stars for the free food in the leasing office from time to time.

Was an okay place to live until I got over charged at move out for petty things. I lived there two years, small stuff happens that they should cover. They also charged my roommates for petty things and lost my friends $200+ security deposit. Wouldn't trust them at all with my money now. Avoid.

I love the space and the amazing team here at the Landings! Prices are amazing and they have a very great maintenance team that is really responsive. Not to mention they are fully furnished! I also want to thank Stephanie Davis for answering all of my questions and making me feel comfortable with the space. I would recommend for any college student in the Lansing area!

The environment is ok, but seems like the new team staffs are not at the same page and lack of training, when asking them questions they seem confused and taking a long time to get things set, moreover, I think they probably are not keeping each other informed so that some staffs will keep contacting me for the issues I have been worked out with the other staff in the office.

This past year living at the Landings has been amazing! Everything about it has been great. The apartments are very large and comfortable, there are so many amenities included in my very affordable rent, and the people here are so nice and helpful. My favorite part would have to be the individual leases, as well as how everyone has their own private bathroom. I also love how the Landings is a community that interacts with their residents. I have met so many great people from living here. I honestly could not picture myself living anywhere other than the Landings in the East Lansing area!
