As an MSU student I was worried about the commute to campus, but the leasing office handed out bus passes to all residents within a few days of moving in! The staff is super friendly and helpful, they are able to help you with any problems or questions in a timely manner. These apartments are reasonably priced for having your own bedroom and bathroom. As a bonus these are pet friendly apartments so yo can bring your furry little friends with you!

The rooms and amenities are great and are offered for a good price. It's a bit far from MSU's campus but the bus makes the trip very easy. Anytime I've had an issue, Melissa and the other Landings staff have been very helpful, friendly, and professional.

All the leasing office staff is very friendly and helpful! Especially Emilie O'Grady! :) She is so kind, caring, considerate, and very friendly. I loved chatting with her as I got a tour and signed the lease. What is usually a very stressful, info-heavy process was made very simple, easy, and even fun when interacting with these amazing staff members. Also, the facilities and apartments here are incredible and I cannot wait to live here in the fall! :)

After living here for almost a year, I still stand by my previous review. The maintenance is quick to fix issues usually and the office staff is very friendly. The apartments and ammenties are all clean and well maintained and it has overall been a nice place to live. I just can't afford it anymore.

This place is on of the best to live in East Lansing. It has all amenities, is fully furnished and is very close to the bus stop.

Moreover they have a swimming pool, volleyball court, a gym, pool table, table tennis, basketball and a lawn tennis court which is recently built up in the play area.

This place is highly secure with security being g present over the entire night. Also the rent here is affordable. I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Brianna in the leasing office is always such a pleasant and helpful person to speak with. She genuinely cares about what she does and it shows. It is always such a good experience when dealing with this staff member.

Great Service if there is a problem they send someone as soon as possible. Good pricing. Great staff. Brandon in the front office was a great help.Offer many fun things during the holidays and love the food they give out almost weekly. Have so much do to and are in the perfect location from Michigan State. The staff here is amazing and is a great atmosphere to be around. I have recommended the landings to my friends to live here as it stands out from other complexes in this area. Plan on living here for the years to come. They also are giving away a GoPro which i am hoping to get!

So I m new to the Lansing, MI area and have been staying in the Chandler Crossing apartments for a few months now. I will definitely say the staff is very friendly and helpful! I work with Katy Wedge, who has always provided spectacular service no matter what I need assistance with. The rates are competitive and everything you need is less than 5 minute drive away. They have two weight rooms, plus other amenities and community events at least once a week.

The only reason why I rate it 4 stars is because upgrades should be made to some of the older units. However it s a nice place and I would definitely recommend it to future residents.

The apartments were great and I really enjoyed my tour but a sweet gal named Katy. She was super helpful and professional. She was also legit funny. Have her tell you the story about the golf balls and the horse.

Landings has been terrible at dealing with any issues and refuses to accept responsibility or make it up to their residents. Two examples (there are more I won't share) 1st example: Internet has gone down for the whole apartment complex for over the past month, Landings has told given residents 2 updates. One was 3 weeks after the initial problem saying they're "working with the internet company". 2nd update basically said that since MSU went online they have had issues with the internet (which is BS, it has only occured for ~1.5 months and MSU has been online for atleast 6 months now) and that they won't be doing anything to help resolve it or compensating residents in anyway. 2nd example: They lost my package and refuse to help me out in any way shape or form, even though they acknowledged receipt of my package. Terrible management that is only concerned about their bottom line not making this a positive living experience for their residents.

Super friendly staff. I recently came in looking for a potential fall housing assignment where Mary came up to me and showed me around the place. Highly recommend Mary when needing a tour or information about this place

Very disappointed with the management of these properties. Have maintenance requests from August (it's now October) that haven't been taken care of, and when a worker does show up they aren't wearing masks, which is both inconsiderate and dangerous as we are in a pandemic. The apartment was filthy at move in, my roommates and I had to spend hours cleaning the place before we felt comfortable living in it, absolutely unacceptable. We have the Spartan rather than the Emerald option, and I was really disappointed with the apartment upon arrival, the only marketed difference between the two being a difference in kitchen countertop material, this is false advertising as the Spartan option has less light fixtures, different walling, and appliances from over a decade ago along with cupboards that are deteriorating condition (well at least ours are).

I went on a housing tour with Absalon Johnson and felt extremely comfortable and welcomed in the Chandler Crossing community. He answered all of my questions and was so honest. I will recommend these apartments to friends and family.

I would just like to say that Brandon Odell was delightful and could not have been more helpful. He fixed my problem right away, and he did a great job explaining everything. It is very encouraging to know that The Landings has Brandon to help with tenant needs! Thanks again Brandon!

Living at the Landings has been a great experience. I was roommate matched and one of my roommates have become one of my best friends! I was a little nervous going through the process but the staff was very helpful! My favorite part about living at the Landings is having my own bathroom. I don't have to share a community bathroom or worry about someone getting in the shower before me. It is fully furnished so all I had to bring was decorations! Perfect apartment for a college student looking for the best deal!

I'm very happy with where I live! The amenities make every penny worth it, and the leasing office staff is always friendly, helpful, and smiling! Katelynn is always super wonderful to work with whenever I have questions, and I'm glad I chose the Landings over anywhere else!

Absolute crooks. Charged me hundreds for cleaning, even though I was deployed for 6 months of a 9 month lease. The entire complex is infested with bugs and upper management refuses to acknowledge these issues. They still owe me over 600 for security deposit, but have the audacity to send me a bill for nonsense charges. This place will bend you over and not think twice about it.

I moved into my apartment at the Landings for Fall of 2016-Spring of 2017. After the reviews I had read, I thought I would live here for one year and leave but now I know that I am signing for another year! The maintenance is timely, the rates are fair, my apartment is beautiful and their staff is always helpful. More specifically, Lauren and Epsilon have always been the ones who help me and hey are truly great. I'm so happy that I live in a place where my voice feels heard and that I know I am cared about by the staff. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for affordable apartments that are way better than any other apartments I've seen in East Lansing.

I lived in the Landings in the past and moved back to this complex a couple months ago. I see a HUGE difference so far when it comes to the respectfulness of management as well as general employees. I always get wonderful vibes whenever I step foot in the office or even on the phone. I had the pleasure of working with Chris and he has been a BIG help to me (I recommend talking to him). The Landings always offers ice breaking events as well as great amenities. This has been a wonderful living experience and you get your money s worth for what they offer. Thank you for making my place a happy home! #GoChandler

Worst place to stay! The people in the office showed disrespect to me every time we tried to speak. There were several police reports filed, and even recorded maintenance performing larceny. While trying to speak about concerns they laughed at me, and didn t seek being a qualified customer service representative. You will likely experience the same. The written negotiations to stay are harsh and you can expect hell when you stray.

Employing qualified and professional workers to communicate to the guests will be a challenge. Hospitality could be taught without a degree, but maybe those workers don t think they get proper compensation to be considered an asset with human relations for future years.

I wouldn t suggest staying there to my worst enemy.

Thank you Connor for helping me find my pizza. I'm sorry for the confusion I put you through. I highly recommend the Landings because the staff are just incredible. They know everything and are super helpful. This is possibly a sarcastic comment but read how you wish. Anyway, its really not that bad of place. I think most people are just very high maintenance just maybe don't call them and you will love it. Just have no problems

DON"T LIVE HERE! Our building was on fire, and they put us to an old empty apartment as settlement for over two weeks, then have us moved in to a newly painted apartment that has broken cabinet and leaking refrigerator, and the cabinet is still broken after 4 month even though we had reported it several times. The whole process of moving and resettle took a month and half which they waived rent for one month. No compensation was made for our losses in the old apartment and it took time and effort to move back and forth between different places while non of the employees ever helped. The apartment was only available at Landings for 11 months, however they charge 12 months rent because there is so called "installment fee". The fee was charged at the last month of your contract so you wouldn't notice when you sign the lease.

Do not live here if you want reliable internet. The wifi has been malfunctioning for the past six months, and no progress has been made to make it better. They sent one email explaining they were working on it months ago, and nothing has changed. As a student who had to do online school, this was terrible. I had to use my own phone hotspot to sit in a zoom meeting without lagging out, and I have been disconnected from multiple exams online because of the wifi disconnection, luckily my professors were understanding. It is ridiculous that this has been going on for half a year, especially with every student living here counting on wifi to be able to sit in a college course because of the pandemic.

Great place for students to live, great apartments for a great price. People who work here are very helpful and accommodating. The only real complaint I have is that internet can occasionally be spotty but I do not feel it is enough to not want to stay here.

This place is absolutely beautiful!! I have lived in many places across the country (Arizona, California, Texas) and seen many apartments, but this place is by far the best.

I would also like to note that Katy assisted me with all of the questions I had. I have never experienced so much patience at a leasing office from an agent! She was absolutely phenomenal!! Thank you so much Katy! :)

I'm a student at MSU and I've lived here for the p...

I'm a student at MSU and I've lived here for the past 6 months now I think I would describe The Landings as a fairly decent place to live. Initially, there was a major delay in maintenance showing up to fix things (there were issues that needed immediate attention e.g., the flow in the bathroom sink was very less, the garbage disposal in the kitchen was not working), which the office chalked up to August being a busy move-in period. This delay in maintenance showing up ent away by mid-September.

In general, I think the rent is a lot more than other 2b2b apartments I have checked in East Lansing (which are fewer than I expected). Anyway, here's my breakdown of the pros and cons:

The good stuff:
1. The furnishings are decent (although I feel like they could be better for the price I am currently paying i.e., $580 per month excluding utilities).
2. The staff, especially Brandon ODell, are very polite and have been as accommodating as they can be. Brandon has gone out of his way to help me multiple times (thanks a lot, Brandon!). The other staff members are very nice too and always try to help as best they can.
3. The 25, 26 bus routes to multiple places are easily accessible within 5-8min walking distance (Route 25 goes to Walmart, Meijer whereas Route 26 to MSU and Grand River Avenue).
4. It's a quiet apartment complex and the apartment itself is spacious. It includes the washer/drier in the unit which is a great time-saver.

Opportunities for improvement:
1. The furnishings could be better (e.g., my bed-frame is really high and they didn't have a shorter one to replace it with, the chairs in the apartment are a bit uncomfortable if one has to sit for longer than 2 hours, the dishwasher is old and rusty, my bathroom sink is rusty and I was told that as long as it is in working condition it won't be replaced). Another thing is that there was no lighting in the living room (we had to buy a lamp) which is a very strange thing for an apartment to not have.
2. They only have one trash chute so it's really inconvenient to have to carry trash if your building is far from the chute's location. (I have to walk 5 minutes which feels like a lot in the winter!)
3. The carpets in my building are not vacuumed regularly (there are dried leaves, scraps of trash paper, and a weird odour sometimes). I don't know what the policy is for cleaning the building carpets but I saw maintenance clean it only once since I moved here.
4. The gym floor is also extremely dirty and it's impossible to do any kind of workout on the gym floor because they also do not have yoga mats.

Of note: When you order packages they go to the leasing office where the staff enters them into their system. Once they do this, you receive an email notifying you that you have a delivery. Sometimes there's a delay in when the staff is able to enter it into their system due to high volume of packages or the staff being busy. This is to say that you may not get what you ordered until they have it entered into their system which leads to delays in getting your package even if its technically been "delivered" ..so if you need something urgently, make sure you account for this.

Very nice; the few problems we had were resolved relatively quickly and without charge. The staff are very friendly and easy to work with, especially Brandon. The amenities are wonderful too, overall it s been a great experience!

Just moved into these apartments this month. TERRIBLE experience. Our washer and dryer are both broken, and have been since we moved in weeks ago. They didnt fix or clean anything when we moved in. The house had trash, stains, and vomit on the carpets and counters when we moved in. It was horrible!! I have tried contacting the leasing office since day one and have gotten no assistance. On top of that, I think we have mice. i Im so stressed out and upset that im going to be stuck here for a year. I cant believe i EVER signed in the first place.. cant wait to move out.

The distance:

The distance:
The bus is very connivence. A little far away from campus (It takes about 20 to 25 min by driving).
The apartment:
The quality of apartment is decent. Also, when some things is malefaction, they always solve the problems so quickly. I really appreciate it. They never let me wait for more than 2 days.
Staffs:
They are quite nice and friendly. They try to concern you and give useful information or help.
Equipments:
They offer the good place to play basketball, tennis and fitness.

As much as I LOVE these apartments.... Im not sure I'd be as passionate about them if I had not encountered Katy. My initial experience was like...when you see a really cute cat, but you kind of know they won't let you pick them up and pet and play with them.... But then the cat comes and rubs on your leg and you CAN pick it up and play. You, for the first time, know what victory feels like.

Katy was that cat. She didn't rub my leg, nor did I pick her up or play with her...but she was awesome, so I didn't mind.

In a 4 room 4 bath. Rooms and living area are spacious. Heard some negative things about the place coming in but definitely think the leasing office is working to turn it around. Maintenance is quick to respond (ask for Jay, he s the best) and leasing office is pretty proactive. If you can, work with the leasing agent Absalon. He is the most helpful and very friendly. Wish the complex was closer to campus, but the bus to campus is very accommodating and free. Overall, I have had a good experience.

If your big concern in looking for a place to rent...

If your big concern in looking for a place to rent is Just Price, then this is a place for you.

However, if you are looking for a community/staff in which your concerns are heard, valued and are promptly resolved, then this place is the worse place for you.

I had issues with my roommate for months now, I have reported the issue to the administration through emails and drop in their offices literally every week since I moved in September (because each time you make a phone call to the office, they say they will call you back but never does) . Yet, nothing has been done to resolve my issue.

I requested to be transferred to another apartment but the Landings administration keeps on postponing my request.

My experience at Landings Apartment complex has been filled with a lot of restless nights, worrying about what my roommate is going to do next to make my life a living hell. . Now, I am staying at my friends house waiting for the transfer. And I am still paying for housing at Landings apartment.

The Landings Apartment management can do a better job assisting and resolving residents issues.

As for now, I wouldn t recommend this Apartment Complex to anyone.

It was a happy experience when I was living here, ...

It was a happy experience when I was living here, but everything changed when I moved out. The office charged me $600 for counter top replacement, and told me if I don't pay the fee, they would send me to the collection for $1200. When I asked for image evidence for damages, the photo showed a small iron rust mark on the counter top. When I tried to require more evidence, I found out that they did not even changed the counter top, and just asked me for that much money. Finally, the office accept their mistakes and waived the fees, but I don't think they have the rights to charge residents for whatever they want, but instead have to confirm with the higher level manager.
My advice: 1.Clean and take pictures when you move out.2. Keep all contracts and written evidence with you. 3.When being charged, request immediately for evidence. 4. When they try to scare you, don't be afraid, try to find the local law organization or university for help.

Update on new maintenance:

Update on new maintenance:
A while ago I pulled up the blinds in my bedroom and the strings snapped. It was so old that even the plastic was getting flaky. I asked for maintenance and they replaced the blinds. But they are charging me for replacing their old decaying blinds. I think they don't have enough residents and are trying to squeeze their lost revenue out the current residents.

Update one year later:
The management was changed over the summer. I have to say I already miss the previous management. The new management don't seem to be able to get their s#it together. Our dishwasher stopped working August 2nd. One online request, a few phone calls to the office, and 2 months and 4 days later, it is still not repaired. They also changed the website and I had to setup autopay again. But this time they had a confusing method of autopay setup so my very first autopay was not processed by their system. I got a $75 late fee and they are not nice enough to forgive the fee. The manager said it is my mistake. So I make a mistake and a few days later I get charged a fee but they make a mistake and 2 months later they don't even apologize for it. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They care about you only before you sign the lease.

Review for previous management:
This place is good. I like it in total. The maintenance is really nice and professional. I would have given this place at least 4 stars if they had a recycling bin. I have never lived in a place that had no recycling bins. I think management should provide recycling options considering that there are more than 900 young people living here and I think most of them would care to recycle.

I met with Katy for a tour and she is AWESOME! She's the one reason I chose to live there, as I could tell my mind would be at ease knowing I'd be working with her if I needed anything. Unfortunate events led me to a different state and I can only hope the place I find here has even HALF a Katy to work with!! Call Katy and you won't be disappointed in her level of customer service abilities!!

So far so good! Moving in has been pretty easy just minor differences from other apartments in the area. Biggest difference so far is the staff. Staff is very knowledgable and will always double check the finer details of your file before answering questions. Talk to Brandon Odell! Dustin the maintenance wonder has fixed everything that needed to be fixed. He was super nice, friendly and very respectful.

This is a great apartment complex. I was initially hesitant since I couldn't visit prior to moving in, however, everything was great and anything was wasn't was fixed within the first few weeks. The staff is wonderful and very welcoming and maintenance requests get done right away. I have no complaints.

I've been living here for a few months, and so far so good. The amenities are nice (I try to go to the workout room when I can), the apartment is comfortable, the rent is reasonable, and I appreciate the convenient CATA access. The only thing that I'm a tad unhappy about is the lack of a recycling service, but that's not necessarily exclusive to this complex. As it is, I have to drive my recycling down to the center on campus. S/O to Katie, the Landings staff who had me write this review.

Would much rather prefer to live in the clubs instead of the landings. Everything is worse compared to the clubs, the maintenance personnel, the quality of furniture, appliances, room sizes. Also the maintenance staff treat you as if you did something morally/personally wrong against them when they show up to your apartment to fix something.

Every time I come in Absalon Johnson is working and he is extremely helpful. He has a smile on his face and is respectful. If he doesn't have the answers to the questions I have, he makes sure to find them in the rest of the staff or his superiors. He is a great worker and awesome guy.

I was helping my son and his friends find a place to live. After reading the reviews on Google I was reluctant to even call The Landings. However, my son convinced me to do so. I don't know about any of the other staff that people have had to deal with in the past, but Kallie provided excellent customer service. She was friendly and knowledgeable, answering all the questions I had. I would be more than happy to deal with her in the future.

This is the second time I am living here. I saw this place when I visited my bf last year. This year he has moved to a new city, but I chose to get a lease here since I have a lot of sweet memories attached to this place. It's neat, warm and I am in love with the trail nearby

Landings at Chandler Crossing is the WORST apartment complex ever. Their management is lazy and very rude. They have history of lawsuits due to unfair treatment of their residents. They continue to treat their residents very poorly. Their staff are very unprofessional and provide no help in fixing problems. I am so upset I decided to move here. They keep harassing residents to renew their lease but I don t know how they expect anyone to want to live here. We have had an open room in our apartment since the day we moved. My roomate placed a couple of items there temporarily. We have lived here since August, but for some odd reason they decided after 6 months they wanted to lock the door. They did this without warning my roomate to move her items. Now they are saying she can t get her items out of the room until we move out which isn t until July. Why can t maintenance unlock the door for her to get her items and then lock it back? I don t know. Management is very lazy and rude. When calling about the situation staff members provided no help, just a lot of attitude.

I do not recommend living here, it is the absolute worst place to live! The office is horrible with communication. Horrible management! They never get back with you no matter how many messages or calls they receive from you. It takes months to receive maintenance. They charge you a cleaning fee when you move out and don t even clean the rooms! They don t even have them professionally cleaned and they will charge you an arm and a leg for it. I ve had a horrible experience moving into the property, they lost my lease and their good for loosing things especially the money orders you pay your rent with. I almost couldn t move in because the person who I signed my lease with didn t work their anymore. Then while living there I had so many problems with this office. It was always something extra going on with my apartment. They always had some random inspection, if I m paying you to live here why are you randomly coming into my apartment and my room with out my consent? They always do things at the most inconvenient times as well! It was by far one of the worst living experience I ve ever had. This is not the place for you. Only gave 5 starts so that people can actually see this comment. 0/5 for me.

This a the worst apartment I've ever lived in. If I could give them 0 stars I would. The management is the worst management I've ever dealt with. The maintenance service is the slowest I've ever experiences. I didn't have a washer or dyer for almost 2 months. They placed me with a roommate that didn't match my profile I had submitted. And when I moved out they tried to charge me $100 dollars for a cleaning fee after my roommate had left 2 things in the fridge after I had already moved out. Would never recommend to anyone.
