location is good. there are a lot of things that need attention. My room (1419) furniture is very dated and beaten up. altho the TV is nice. there is a slur carved into the bedside table - shocking that isn't fixed/replaced!!!! all the public room furniture is stained and very dowdy. this place needs serious attention.

The hotel is being refurbished so I'm giving it a bit of latitude. Nice staff and cool decor (both the more classic lobby and the funky rooms). Its in a good location. However you can tell its an old hotel as the rooms feel small. Also there is no view..seriously you almost don't need windows. Internet is also very slow. Breakfast was good but the service was very slow (especially given it caters to business clientele).
Close to the train station and many attractions. Service was good, and staff were fast to respond to any requests. Something I didn't use but I thought was very nice was the inclusion of an umbrella in the room in the case of bad weather.
Came to enjoy a company Xmas party at the venue held at the Crystal Ballroom on Dec 16th. When went to get a shot of whisky from the open bar. I was told by the Indian Bartender not to have whisky (as I was a girl ordering). He says to me to step away because he did not want to service me. Asked him what else can he offer me other than whisky. He didn't want to help me. That was my first drink at the bar and I hot refused to be served. What the heck?. My company had an open bar so I could enjoy n celebrate the night. Very disrespectful. It was non of his concern if I even got pissed drunk. Than I had to go the other side and get a peach snapps n orange juice. I didn't even enjoy after that. Bad service from the Indian Bartender. The hotel concierge n were very helpful downstairs.
The Omni King Edward Hotel is quite lovely. I was there attending an industry event and was served promptly by their attentive staff. The conference/dining room was spacious and the event lookes and aounded great. Truly one of the most historic horels in Toronto. The lobby is also decorwted beautifully.
For an older, upscale Canadian hotel such as this, I can t help but use the nearby Royal York as a yardstick. In this light, the King Edward shows very well, with a clean and understated look that does not feel one bit dated. My room was very large (again, for a hotel this old), and every detail was perfect. What s more, a small but notable surprise was found in the closet: laundry starch. For someone like myself who travels a lot, it gets difficult to offer pleasant surprises, and it s little gestures like this that can make a difference. Service was great; I was checked in quickly, without the usual speech regarding hotel amenities (once it became clear that I was tired and did not care). Well done! 9/10
My husband and I returned to the King Edward this month for our third stay this year. The minute we arrived we were greeted by Chris at the door with a big smile. He helped us with our luggage and then parked our car.
At the front desk Shirley welcomed us back and proceeded to tell us we had been upgraded to a larger room. It was lovely!
We had a little trouble with the TV and Roland came by to help us...he was very sweet.
We wanted a little room service and Samson delivered our order with a big, happy smile and even came back in less than 5 minutes with extra glasses.
We usually take advantage of the Royal Club lounge as the food is excellent. Marshe greeted us at the entrance like family and welcomed us back using our first names...very rare these days!
We cannot say enough about this hotel and the wonderful staff. They are elite professionals, happy and accommodating and provide service above and beyond the norm. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable.
We are booked again for two more visits this summer and look forward to it.
Great venue, really enjoyed this hotel felt nice and luxurious and the staff was friendly. We were on the redone 17th floor and or was very nice and fancy!
Hotel Boy was real rude yesterday nov 15 at 4 pm he told me im. Bullshit he was expecting i will give him money but why i should give him money?????????
My yearly visit to the Sunday buffet. Always special and tasty. Desserts were so-so, except for the mousse. Toronto is a city of patisseries. Up your game!
Been there many times. Perfect for a one night staycation. So much charm and nostalgia I had to post the photos in black and white. Lovely area to wander and explore. Great restaurants, shopping, cafes. The staff go above and beyond to make you happy. Highly recommend a late check out with a fancy room service breakfast before departing. Always amazing.
Amazing hotel as always. Just needs an updated spa and a better restaurant and it would be a 5 star hotel. Rooms are classic, elegant, and comfortable without feeling old.
I came here for the brunch buffet and the food was top notch. Huge variety of salad, cheese and other appetizers. Their eggs were average but the hot meat dishes were memorable. Servers were okay, could help with one or two more walking around.
Excellent experience. Great nd prompt service. Very courteous nd friendly staff nd of course very scrumptious dainties nd appetizers. Beautiful decor nd very tasteful table settings. We really enjoyed the evening. Thanks.
Last year we got a room and the heating unit was so noisy that we had to shut it off for the night just so wee could sleep in a bed with a mattress that was so worn out that you would just end up rolling into the middle. On top of that, the event staff don't pay attention to food allergies even though it's posted on my name card right in front of my plate and I was served a salad with walnuts even though my name card says I have a nut allergy.
It was our home away from home. The bed was as comfortable as our own bed and we had good nights of sleep. I absolutely recommend take the Royal Club option. We had our breakfast there everyday and the food was great. We also went to the 5-7 service were we got free beverages and appetizers. Alex Melnyk, the Club attendant, made us confortable right from the start. We will definetly go back!
Attended a wedding there recently....place is very classy, service was excellent and the food was of high quality and tasted delicious. The building is very old with lots of character on the outside. The inside was classy and luxurious. Guess what.....you can still see the lake! Not for long as there is a few cranes surrounding the hotel.
We had a two night stay at the OMNI King Edward. The staff was friendly and the location is awesome with lots of restaurants close by. The hotel room was tidy but looked like some of the fixtures in the bathroom could use a wipe down. Also the 24 hour room service menu does not have the greatest selection.
The main door of the hotel must be easy to be opened which is not. It seems to me because the differential air pressure between inside the hotel and the outside.
Excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms. Bathroom was clean and updated. 2 restaurants available with some vegan options in each. Location is very central- we took the train there and didn't need a car, walked everywhere. Beautiful historic building, nice sitting area in lobby with comfy chairs and couches. Also, cute cafe attached to hotel, accessible from inside the hotel. Will definitely stay here again.
Place is outstanding. Excellent service, pristine rooms, excellent amentities, knowlegeable and very friendly and helpful staff. A truly outstanding hotel and if I am ever back in Toronto, I know I will be looling at staying here.
Nice place to stay in the city, 10 minutes away from Dundas Square and full of coffeeshops and restos around. The rooms are super comfy, service is great, the gym is nice although they do not have swimming pool (10/10 totally recommended).
This beautifully appointed hotel has excellent service, warm friendly staff and food is excellent. Rooms are a very comfortable size and decor is beautiful. Highly recommend it. My favourite hotel in the city of Toronto.
The staff of the hotel are friendly and accommodating. The food is awesome, imaginative, and we'll served. The location is second to none. I am always amazed at how well treated even the conference exhibitors are. I would easily recommend this hotel.
I don't know who King Edward was or why he has his name on this hotel. But he sure did pick a prime location! It may be a bit more expensive, but if location is what matters most then this is a great choice. Easily access Air Canada Centre, St. Lawrence Market, Hockey Hall of Fame, and many other destinations in downtown Toronto.
We've been coming to the Omni King Edward Hotel since before it was an Omni hotel. Our experience has always been very good, and it is great to be able to write that the experience has gotten better since becoming an Omni Hotel. It is satisfying to see that many of the staff from our original visits have remained and continue to provide excellent service. The service at the Omni King Edward is impeccable! The hotel facilities are great.
