A little dark and disorganized. There are better Bay's out there.

If you are in market for furniture from the bay then this location has the maximum selection.
Thanks for the fantastic price on a Pallisier sectional. Staff and department Manager were great with negotiations.
Most of what they sell is high price for low quality.
The flagship store in Vancouver has much better offerings than the stores in the suburbs. The men's section carry many more high end brands. Even though the store can be confusing and messy, they do have great deals. One of a sales associates there, a short Asian lady, was a total sweetheart.
Love Hudson's Bay! This store has everything you can imagine. The quality is good, great customer service and staff is friendly.
Amazing location with 6 floors full of everything. They have a great variety of stuff, mostly high quality and expensive. You may find them in other places as well, but everything in one place is just here. I really like the 6th floor, men's section. They have semi formal and formal clothing offered from a lot of different brands. Better than other stores.
The Hudson Bay Company-signature of Canada? What a dreary unwelcoming place. I had 'big shopping plans' but was appalled when I approached the entrance to The Bay. The entrance on either side of the building is dirty filthy (food rests, needles and feces). I turned around and attended another local prominent store (N...). Please look at my photos and tell me why should I spend my money at this store.
The sad thing is that Hudson's bay is dying off and its prices are still high. If you got cash to burn then check out the diminishing inventory
Well stocked store, helpful staff in the shoe department.
Mixed bag of employees who care and those that don't. Came for the occasional walk around with retail therapy in mind, ended up irked at having to walk two floors up to price check a single item, and having an awkward problem of finding someone to actually purchase from.
Great place to shop for deals but each floor should have a general knowledge of where to return items that are not from their own department. I tried to return Eddie Bauer balaclava online, assuming it's in the mens department but it wasn't so I tried women's as it looks unisex but was directed to the mall floor to the sports section. Lots of run around.
Very bad customer service. Called the store to check the size, they put me on hold first and then just hang up on me. Called customer service, they told me to go to the store and check.
Basically what you'd expect from a brand retail store. There are several levels, but sign posting so you're never really lost. It is however difficult to track down associates if you require assistance
The bay queen street in Toronto is the go to Bay. I always find they have a deal and always find the help I am looking for. Great selection and assist.
It's like they don't want you to buy anything. If you want to try something on, you have to go around in circles trying to find someone to unlock a dressing room b/c all the rooms are locked up tight like EVERYONE is a prospective shop lifter! And then if you want to go back and forth, you have to bother the same people all over again to open up a room again. It's a hassle and at one point, I just gave up and walked out. So I would say this place is not customer friendly.
Also, I did buy a pair of NYDJ $210 jeans and later, back in Seattle, found the exact same jeans on line from the company (NYDJ) for half that price. Their prices are terribly over-inflated. Back to those $210 jeans....I said to the two saleswomen at the service desk in a joking but incredulous manner: 'Are you kidding me?? $200 for a pair of jeans? Am I from another planet?' They both just gave me sideways glances and went back to what they were doing WITHOUT SAYING A WORD! They completely ignored me. My words echoed off the walls. They were too haughty to address my comment. (I'm in my 60's now and say what I think. You will, too, once YOU reach your 60's! LOL) I don't like snobbish salespeople. I went next door to buy them and the woman there was actually personable and assured me that the price was usual for that brand (though I found them half that price on line). But at least she was human!
its bit of messy and you do need to put some efforts to find something worth the time and money. But it will be worth the time you put in since Hudson'a Bay do carry some very nice and style stuffs which are so cheaper than any other places
Good spot for shopping around for a lot of different items. The men's section is better than other Bay locations, as it is quite large and we'll organized
Barely any staff around, and the ones you find on the lower floors are very rude and some refuse to process purchases. Was told twice on different days the store was closed, but it was 15 minutes before 9pm. To be fair some staff is super nice though (if you can find someone willing to help) Some people work during the day, so I guess I'll just shop elsewhere with better service...
Great service and sales. Love their Canadian clothing.
Lots of sales. No effort at social distancing though. No signs up to remind people to stay apart
I toured the place, very expensive and my budget is not to buy here
Reza in the men's suits department will take excellent care of you. Same day alterations in a pinch.
A big store that needs a total remodel, starting form the items and pricing policy, the online and return policy for the online and the staff.
This store has the best selection of menswear that I have seen. Would recommend.
The elevators are really difficult to locate as there are no signs directing you to them. Otherwise fine department store
Free Shipping sounded great, so I placed a huge order for my daughter's birthday.
Then the receipt is emailed to me 5 minutes after I place the order with 202.50 of shipping on it - plus tax!
Okaaaaay. I call and inquire, they promise to fix it, and say it will ship in the morning (I ordered on a Sunday afternoon). Cool.
The next morning I have a message asking me to confirm the order or they will cancel it! Weird, but okay.
I call. No one answers. I call again. No one answers. I leave a very clear message with my name, phone number, and order number. I say I am calling to confirm and welcome a call back.
Three hours go by, and I get an email saying it's cancelled. WTF......
I email to the customer service dept. - what the hell, send me my order!
The next day I call to ask again, has it shipped - when will it be here?
They tell me the order's still cancelled. Wow, okay, so they just ignore emails to the customer service department.
Alright, let's re-order then!
Three days later now, has it shipped? No, sorry they tell me, insufficient funds! So I check my card - sure enough there are no funds left - they've used them up billing me for the original cancelled order that they never bothered sending!
Still waiting to get either some goods or my money back...
Apparently they don't actually WANT anybody to order anything from them - so I'd recommend shopping ANYWHERE else!
HANDS DOWN THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ONLINE ORDERING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!
I recently found out that there is no more Lacoste store down town Vancouver anymore. And so I literally spent my day, searching for the holy grail so to speak for my favorite designer label.
I tried Holt Renfrew, but sadly... that was a bust. And after a quick drop-in to Sunglass Hut in Pacific Center to buy the new RayBan Boyfriend specs (Hottest new mens shades btw), I passed through the food court, and in to Top Shop... where a helpful guy pointed me to the men's floor (floor 6).
Once in menswear, I walked around to the back corner of the store, there were no people and I was about to give up and go home when... out of the corner of my eye, I saw men's Lacoste!!! Super inexpensive, sizes up to a 7 (2XL).
I was totes stoked and bought a sikk hoodie. I deffs recommend HBC Vancouver men's floor! 5 stars!!!
I bought white gold earrings a couple of years ago from here ,they broke ,just sold them and they weren't gold but silver . How can a store like this rip the public off ,I'll never shop here again for anything. And will try to stop my friends shopping there too.
Flagship Bay store in BC. Has a great selection of menswear. Sales people aren't pushy.
Best The Bay in BC more stocks and collections thans any other location. Elevator is slow though.
Unfortunately I've had more bad experiences here than good ones. I find the associates in the shoes department to be pushy and rude. The Bay severely lack associates in the clothing departments.
I love to go and look at the suits that I can't afford to buy while my wife spend all my money. The bistro on the top floor is amazing too.
Really big store. Hudson Bay history really interesting
Mostly catered to tourists with deep pockets. The selection of items here are certainly not for the everyday Joe. Staff are stand-offish and do their best to avoid any customer interaction. They pretend to be busy behind the counter, stare off into space... I had to wait 15 mins to be let into a changing room. Disappointing considering the cost of the goods.
Dog friendly. What a nice treat. Shopped the fragrances and gorgeous sunglasses. Wonderful.
Boxing day I got a super jacket with a 75% discount !!!
After going to various shoe stores around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, I could not find anything to fit my narrow feet. I realized that the Bay had their sale on and I dropped into to see if they had any sandals on sale. I had a lovely sales associate help me find three pairs. Two were sandals and one were a pair of slip on shoes.
These sales associates work so hard during these sales and it must be maddening to see piles of shoes everywhere. Somehow, they still manage to smile, be polite and then go on to help the next demanding customer. Keep up the great work.
It was pretty good for a traditional Bay store. The escalators were not working but that's temporary. The staff were attentive and friendly which can be rare.
The Bay is a great place to shop! Just pick your floor, walk around and you'll find what you're looking for. It's truly the way shopping should be! Alas, its business must not be going very strong and this sometimes shows. But it's where I go to shop!
Good for an old fashioned department store highly recommend
Customer service is atrocious. I do not need to be told that merchandise is expensive and question whether I am purchasing in order to show me.
Pretty good selection of men's clothes (for Vancouver).
Despite the frustrating layout of the TIP TOP level (can't stand that store, and don't know how it is affiliated with The Bay), and the broken escalator that is extremely dirty going up to the 1st floor, the rest of the Bay is great. 6 floors of everything you could need. I've gone in many times for lunch-time or after work shopping.
Few staff, only high priced items for sale, empty lonely desolate place. So sad that the crowded busy department stores of bygone days with high energy are gone? I had a gift card and nothing i wanted to spend it on. So sad!
20 minutes to complete a return? Yup, just goes to show that the Bay's customer service is atrocious. HBC refuses to invest in tools to help its staff: they are constantly understaffed, don't have adequate POS terminals, and their returns process from online orders is a farce. One of my favourite sayings is that you can fire a cannon in The Bay and not hit an employee.
They offer free shipping but no free returns, so you either have to pay for return shipping or bring your things into a store. You'd think that they could scan the barcode on the receipt, scan the items, the correct price would come up, and you'd be all done. Nope! Each item needs to be entered manually. It takes the longest time, and of course, creates a huge lineup of people because there are no other terminals.
I wonder how much business they lose because customers get sick of waiting for employees/checkout terminals/change rooms, etc. Considering the expensive renovations they've done, you'd think they would have added extra places for people to SPEND THEIR MONEY.
I'd rather order online from Macys and Nordstrom and drive across two international borders to bring my things back. It's less infuriating than visiting The Bay.
department stores in canada are always lacking this place isnt any different
very clean
great sales
lots of selections
Sold me a $1200 mattress that didnt last 9 months. Did the whole process where they send a "inspector" and they found it had a 1 inch visible depression. They turn around and tell me wait until its 1-1/2 inch in 6 months before you claim it.
So I spent $1200 and im sleeping like garbage.
Dont waste your time, go to sleep country or somewhere else.
A great shopping experience and best customer service! I loved how Ramji helped me find what exactly I was looking for!
good stuff in Men's and Home utensils, dishware, glasswares
Incredible customer service. I went in and bought bathing suit and when I got home I noticed that the price hadn't scanned the 25% off discount. I e-mailed manager Nicola Tessari and he got back to me right away and processed the discount to my Bay Card immediately. Very pleased.
Nice customer service at the earrings department area. Was not too busy but staff made sure we were ok.
Amazing place to shop for clothes or any fashion accessories. The store is huge and the staff is super friendly.
Old school multi-floor department store with cash registers and elevators from 1920. Just kidding but the elevators are just NOT....take the escalator.
Went into he store to find a new suitcase. Lilli in the luggage shop was very helpful with all of the product having great mastery of her department and gave honest opinions and recommendations.
Great staff, great deals on clothes and all the branded stuff is available in the same building
They have decent sales but are chronically understaffed, which means excessive wait times at the cash registers. I think there's like 3 change rooms as well, which again means long waits. If you don't mind making a day of it and there's a good sale it's worth the trip, but otherwise it can be a highly frustrating experience.
busy busy busy
nice and clean was impressed ....
Great selection of brands, sometimes more availability online than in store which can be disapointing. Registry department is fantastic and so helpful. All other departments you're lucky to find any help at all as they're usually a ghost town.
