Its a neat resort in the middle of the Poconos..I know this place on a few levels.. My son is a lifeguard with Woodloch Resort.. He loves working there.. He enjoys working with the public. Woodloch takes great care of their employees from what I have seen.. Especially when the winter weather comes in.. They give them a room and feed them if necessary.. As a parent of an employee I appreciate that alot..
My husband and I have had dinner at Woodloch Inn recently.. I have to say it was a wonderful meal.. Great Prime Rib.. And the deserts are awesome..
I recommend Woodloch Resort for a nice getaway... Teresa Dandrea

This place was amazing, while we went during the off season so it was slightly confusing as to what was open and what wasn't and their arcades could have used a little bit more care and attention to use avid arcade goers as that was a very important aspect to us. The food and service was AMAZING! Loved it, and hope I can someday go back during prime season.

Those that had the vision to start a family resort in the Poconos had a very good one.

Every detail at this vast resort has been refined and turned into great hospitality or another beautiful amenity for guests to enjoy.

There are a good mix of things to do here for children. I would say the ideal age range for this place is for kids between 8-14. Go carts, rock climbing, bumper cars. Pool and lake are great. I get the feeling that a lot of people that come here are regulars and like to participate in the group activities together. Staff is very helpful and friendly. You have your mix of young kids, foreign exchange students, and the occasional manager. Really well run place in my opinion. The normal activities can be timed (ie: you can only go during certain hours) and there are always unique things going on just that day. Can get busy

Had the best time here with my family. None of us wanted to go home! Great service, extremely clean and very beautiful place to visit. You can just relax by the lake or the pool or participate in one of the many scheduled activities. Top notch entertainment as well. I have nothing but good things to say!

My entire family stayed here from Friday to Monday and we could not have picked a better place to stay. Everything was so much better than expected. The rooms were huge and very clean and modern. Nothing was in disrepair and the grounds were beautifully landscaped and maintained very well. The most impressive thing out of all was how genuinely nice the entire staff was. Not that "trying too hard" kind of hospitality, but real nice people. No matter who you saw they were happy and helpful. The owner is a riot and offers a wonderful, warm family atmosphere. This is a great family resort with soooo much to do. We went Father's Day weekend and the place was only half full so we picked a great weekend. We will definitely be returning!

Very clean and family run. The food is great and plenty of it. I did find the 8:30-9:30 breakfast time restriction a bit tight for a family on vacation that wanted to sleep in. On the flip side, the 6pm start for dinner was a bit late. It is very odd that there is no real bar on the grounds. You can get drinks here and there but you'd think there'd be a really nice, dark, wood bar. Also, it's not a cheap place which is fine, but for the money, they charge for everything extra. We'll be back, just better informed next time.

Beautiful resort. This was our third time here as a family. Each time I am here I am reminded of the beauty of nature and fresh clean air. Despite covid restrictions, things are done very well and safely. All meals can be to go or you can eat in the main dining room with social distancing measures in place. All activities and amenities are sign up only via Woodloch's app. The only thing I'd like to see different with the sign up system is the ability to get on a wait list so you can get notified if an opening comes up due to someone canceling. Currently there is no way to no any of this unless you are constantly on the app refreshing it all day. Overall wonderful experience that I would highly recommend to families of all age levels. I can't wait to get back after covid is long gone and restrictions are lifted. Cheers.

First the work staff in general are friendly, help...

First the work staff in general are friendly, helpful, and attentive. My review is about the management of Woodloch and the safety of guest. We arrived from Ohio on Monday settled into our room, and then partaked in all the activities that Woodloch is known for.
Tuesday afternoon around 330pm while my child and I were inside swimming the weather outside took a terrible turn. The lights inside the pool area began to flicker, and the life guards asked the swimmers to get out of the pool. I could see metal chairs blowing around outside. I got me and my child dressed quickly as possible. Some life guards and other guest were just standing around looking outside through the giant glass windows that enclosed the indoor pool. The main power went out, and after awhile an older maintenance worker showed up. He directed everyone to get away from the windows because of the high winds. That was enough for me. I took my child, and we went into an interior hallway. We walked inside until I found an exit by a Woodloch shuttle bus stop. As we waited outside another worker saw us, and tells us the busses where canceled because of a tornado warning. "A tornado warning we better get inside" I said to the worker. I didn't have my cell phone with me, and there is no emergency public address system in the buildings so I have no clue of what's going on. The shuttle bus eventually shows-up we go back outside and ride the bus back to our room. The bus driver tells us the power is out throughout the resort except for dining area because it has a back-up generator. He also says the roads are blocked because of a lot trees that have been blown down.
We are staying in Woodloch's "Classic Standard" room, and there is no emergency backup lighting there whatsoever. My wife tells me she thinks she heard a tornado siren going off while we where gone. During dinner an announcement was made about the power being out, roads being closed, and what activity that can be still done. The power is out the rest of the day Tuesday. We have no lights, heat or hot water in our room.
Wednesday during the meals updates on the power outage, and what activities can be done are giving. It's still raining all day Wednesday and the resort outside activities are pretty much canceled or moved inside. Obviously all game rooms, pool, soft play indoor climbing, bumper cars and many other areas are closed because power outage. We manage to do a few things, and we go back to our room. We have no electricity, heat or hot water in our room Wednesday.
Thursday morning the power finally is turned back on. During breakfast an announcements are made about electricity and the main road being open. Checking out Thursday I'm handed my bill for the stay which is for the full amount when I originally booked it. I tell the receptionists that he must be kidding, and that I was not paying the full amount because I didn't have electricity or use of the majority of the resort during my stay. I get the "I'll see what I can do" spiel from him. Yes after a wait, I did get discount. Was it enough, I'm not sure, but I had a ten hour drive ahead of me and I was anxious to leave.
Something's Woodloch could address are; emergency PA system within the buildings and outside areas, back-up lighting in the Classic Standard area, communication of emergency situations between staff and guest, and back-up generator in some of the resorts main features like the indoor pool.

Put away the iPads and computers! This resort is strictly old school in the best sense of a family getaway. The focus is on lots of fun, but healthy activities for people of all ages. Great surroundings , talented and friendly staff who work diligently to accommodate you and every conceivable sport and activity you can imagine are at this all inclusive resort.. The food is better than good and there is always plenty to please the most voracious appetite.

The very rare all inclusive resort in America is a great time. There really is a lot to do for any again... Games, lake activities, pool, bumper boats, etc. We did the complete meal plan which is so nice to not have to travel or make decisions or make food. The only drawback is the pricing structure as I understand it as a 15% gratuity is added to your total bill for room and good I'd rather just have it be part of the overall bill versus having it automatically added on afterwards. I have no issues with the staff as they are great.

I have been coming to Woodloch for about 17 years. I have done nearly everything, played every activity, game, or quiz. It is absolutely amazing. From the delicious food, to the amazing staff, you cannot find a better place to spend a relaxing vacation. Be it a weekend or a week. The spa is phenomenal, the pool is refreshing, and it's all relatively inexpensive. I spend a weekend every year with my family here, and we just keep coming back.

Went for a wedding, the venue was gorgeous. The food was great and very accommodating to the culture of the two families. The hotel room was very clean and staff were amazing. They new a toddler was coming and had bed rails on one of the two beds plus put covers on all of the outlets. I would very much like to come back again and recommend this place to anyone.

Great getaway spot. Staff was incredibly friendly -- the service was always fast and available -- they even provided a shuttle bus on a last minute request from us to take us to a nice hiking trail called Shuman's trail.

The location is great. Nestled by a lake with all sorts of great activities to do, including rifle shooting, sailing, go-karting, etc. Its only a couple hours drive from New York City as well, making a perfect weekend getaway.

The rooms range from good to great depending on what type of housing you get. They are all clean and spotless with all the usual amenities, but you may get more space in one of the standalone houses instead of the more conventional hotel-like rooming by the main lodge.

Definitely would go back again!

Great vacation spot in the Poconos about 2 hours f...

Great vacation spot in the Poconos about 2 hours from most metro NY/NJ areas. The resort is huge with tons of activities for families (even with younger kids). There are several food options available from sandwiches to more upscale sit-down dining, but be prepared - it gets expensive very quickly. The nearest area to drive to with any restaurants is about a 10-15 drive.

Our party rented a 5 bedroom house on the golf course which was very nice. If you stay in one of the houses it's about an 8 minute drive each way to the main building where all the activities are. Staying in a standard hotel type room keeps you on the main property but with obviously far less living space.

I have never been here in the summer but understand from friends who have that there are numerous water activities in the lake like waterskiing, paddle boats, etc. The lake itself is beautiful and looks like it would be an awesome spot for summer fun.

Pros: lots to do, not too far away, beautiful area

Cons: captive audience as far as for choices go, expensive food, poor signage along the road makes finding some activities difficult until you get to know the place.

Great family resort. Owning family takes a hands on welcoming friendly role everyday.
Numerous indoor and outdoor activities to choose from for all ages. Because of the numerous choices of things to do, rarely is anything crowded. Indoor ,outdoor and kiddie pools are beautiful located overlooking the lake.

Events/services offered were underwhelming and disappointing. The game event was kitschy and seemed suited for preteens despite being done as part of a private event for a corporate offsite. The people facilitating archery admitted to leaning it on Wikipedia and knew less about how to shoot than I did. The mini golf had construction equipment beeping as a backdrop. Etc etc. Rooms were nice and food was OK.
