Had the worst experience at the Bay today. I was looking to buy a mattress. The salesman suddenly and rudely walked away in the middle of our conversation when I was trying to discuss price and delivery. I asked if free delivery can be thrown in on the bed (Sleep Country was offering free delivery).

I'm a loyal Hudsons Bay customer (even had the highest level of their rewards card program). I'm very disappointed in this customer service.

Welcome to Hades or as The Bay calls it - their Gift Registry. I recently tried to buy a wedding present for someone registered with the The Bay gift registry. I got the link from the groom, went to the site, found their registry, and tried to place an order. Tried 3 times without getting the web site to accept my order (I know - the definition of insanity). OK, call the 800 number where a delightful operator checked with someone and told me to clear my browsing history and try again (same result) after which she said, "you'll have to call the store". Fine, look up the store phone number and wait through 32 rings until the operator answered (because the gift registry is not in the menu of Voice mail choices). Finally, Sonia from the gift registry answered the phone and in delightfully accentuated english told me she could not take the order on the phone. It was then a posed this question to her, "If you can't order on line, and you can't order on the phone, what's the purpose of the gift registry?" She's having her manager call me back when she returns from her break. Total elapsed time 25 minutes. Level of satisfaction with The Bay? Are there minus numbers? What will I do? Well, I know from the Registry what they want. Let me see who else would sell this to me...

"The" Bay to shop at in Vancouver, the west coast flagship store. They have an expansive men's department that's well organized with brands not found at other stores. Do keep an eye out for Bay Days for great savings.

Hudson Bay Company

Hudson Bay Company
(English: The Hudson's Bay Company, HBC; French: Compagnie de la Baie d'Hudson; used to be translated as a company or a cautious company)
Founded in 1670, it was the first commercial joint stock company established in North America and one of the earliest companies in the world. The company was once the world's largest landowner, and its Rupert's Land occupies a large area of North America. The headquarters of the company's headquarters is located at the York factory on the shores of Hudson Bay, where the company has controlled most of the fur trade in British North America for many years. The company also undertook the development and exploration of the early North American continent, which was the actual government structure of parts of North America before the establishment of the European colony. Its merchants and trappers have established partnerships with many local indigenous tribes, and its network of stations has gradually evolved into the official structure of Canada and parts of the western United States.
Hudson's Bay Company sold the Rupert Territory to the newly formed Canadian Dominion on November 19, 1869, and the Canadian government officially took over the land on July 15, 1870. As its monopoly on fur trade was abolished, the company entered the commodity market and sold necessities to new immigrants in western Canada. Today, the company is the most famous department store in Canada. The Hudson Bay Company Archive is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
On January 26, 2006, the Hudson's Bay Board of Directors unanimously agreed to Jerry Zucker's $15.25 bid ($14.24 per share), ending the long-standing dispute between the company and the Southern California billionaire shareholder. In a press conference on March 9, 2006, HBC announced that Jerry Zucker would replace George Heller as the new chairman and CEO, and he became the company's first US leader.
In 2007, the Hudson Bay Company's record became part of the UNESCO World Memoirs. This record contains the history of the company since its inception in 1670. It also includes transaction records, medical records, employee personal diaries, inventory records, company reports, and more. The HBC company record is considered to be one of the earliest records in modern history. Hudson Bay Company (English) (French)

Staff was easy to find and willing to help. All types of clothes from budget minded $20 shirts to high fashion $200 shirts. Found this place much more easy to shop at when compared to other high fashion stores in the area. No pretentious attitude here.

The only problem is they're seriuosly understaffed so you're fending for yourself. Otherwise prices and quality are fantastic. Love the cashmere sale! Ladies at the women's undergarments department are very knowledgeable and super kind and helpful. Especially there are two older east Indian ladies who are just fabulous. They always help me get the best fitting bras and have great suggestions for other items too. Make sure to sign up online so you get alerts for sales.

If you're looking for a suit, go see Rangil. He is easily one of the most knowledge and easy to talk to consultants I've ever had the pleasure to buy a suit from. His ability to understand what I was looking for and pair that with options that make sense, is a true talent. I had a million different questions and he was able to answer them all calmly and with confidence. To boot he was able to do this all, including alterations, with impossible time restraints and a tremendous attitude. A truley first rate experience and a very satisfied customer. Thank you Rangil.

A multi-storey mall with a variety of products such as clothes, children's and babies' products, shoes, housewares, with a variety of brands. Equivalent to Mashbir for the consumer in Israel. Expensive prices. Quality goods.

Good service. Great selection. Huge place.

I usually go to the one in Metrotown but I ended up here one day.

What I liked about this place was how massive it was and how nice the people working there were.

In other Bay stores around Canada, they don't really approach you. They mind their own business unless you have a question for them, but at this Bay in downtown Vancouver, they approach and ask you if you need any assistance. This has never happened to be before at The Bay which is awesome.

Great place to shop. Would recommend.

Large Bay store which is a bit hard to navigate. I wish they had floor plans so it's easier to find items/brands or know where the topshop/topman part ends. It's a bit confusing to get from the basement to the top floors because the elevators are not as close to each other. Also hard to get back onto Granville St. I had to loop around because there isn't much signage.

Hudson's bay is always a good place. However, these days, their floor attendants are bit moody and customer service is off. One day, there was this guy who was pretty much more interested in chatting with his pretty colleague than listening to our questions. And, my wife is looking for a dress for a while and seems to not finding it.... well that's a different story.

Don't bother calling for Topman. You'll go through a long phone menu only to find out there's no way to contact them through their listed number. Tl;dr: they may it hard for you to give them your money.

On January the 6th we purchased two beds from The Bay Downtown Vancouver, one for my husband and myself and one for my son. We paid, in full, over $3000. We stressed that we had recently moved from Australia and had no beds and was assured the beds would be delivered on the 22nd of January. On the 20th of January we received an automated message from the Bay confirming delivery. On the 21st of January we received a telephone call from the salesperson (Bill) confirming delivery. On the day of delivery, approx.15 minutes before delivery, we were called by the delivery driver to tell us he only had one bed and do we still want it delivered. We said yes.

Two delivery men arrived at our house, a new town house in Vancouver with a high and easily accessible stair case. We had paid for assembly of the bed. One of the two employees obviously did not want to do any work that day. He was confrontational to the point of being aggressive from the very start and told us our bed would not fit up our staircase as our staircase was not high enough. This was obviously not true and after they left we measured the staircase and the minimum height, and only for a short section of the staircase, is 10 feet 2 inches which is much higher than our king bed. The delivery man told us if he had to take the bed upstairs he would damage our walls. This was no more than a disgraceful threat.

Various unreturned calls and promises broken from the Bay (Angela in particular never called back or done what she said she would) and finally Bill in sales said they would get us a bed (slightly different model) but at no extra cost but we must come into the store to check it out. Did not understand why we must again go into the store but it became clear when we did and met Bill. He demanded an extra $100 to get us a bed. He was going back on what he had said on the phone, they had over $3000 of our money, and were attempting to take advantage of out desperate need for a bed for our son. Immoral and disgraceful behaviour.

We were phoned by the Bay on the 26th of January to tell us they had a bed and it would be delivered on 3rd February. My wife took a day of work and no bed was delivered. The next date, again we will have to take a day of work, we are told is 11th February for delivery.

We are completely powerless against this awful company and how they are treating us. We are new to Canada and lived in the UK and Australia. We have never come across a company who behave the way they do. They are disgraceful company that have caused us so much stress and distress.

Impossible to find a sales associate or a desk to pay at. Don't try and pay in a area you didn't find the item or they'll just send you in circles. Literally walked around for 30mins before finding someone who could actually assist me and then didn't know how to ring the items up and had to get someone else. This bay is ridiculous.

This is a big store! If you can't find it here, then the Bay Corporation doesn't carry it.
It reminds me of the old, classic department stores.
There is a lot of staging and many displays to give you good ideas.
They had Christmas displays up and they were really good.

Had the best shopping experience on the 6th floor in men's department today. Wish I had gotten the names of the 2 people that were exceptional. Lady at Bugatti cash desk and young man in Sandro. This service is why we return.
Thank you.

Ordered for delivery. Paid extra for "Next business day delivery". Called twice, 3 days after expected delivery date. They still had no idea when it would be delivered. At no point were we contacted or informed of the delay. What a joke.

I always use Clinique which I purchase from Moe or Nicole. They are very knowledgeable about the products that they sell as well as knowing what their customers need.
After I finish with my purchases at Clinique, I always find something else in the store that is unique with regular sales.

The best Hudson's Bay location I've had the pleasure of visiting yet. Staff is friendly and capable, even during the American shopping crazes which leaves them exhausted and scrambling (seeing people complain about quickness of service during Black Friday makes me laugh and cringe at the same time).
Being born European I'm used to most large, multi-level stores such as this being targeted at low to medium-low range shoppers. In fact, Hudson's Bay bombed massively in my native country because there are so many established local boutiques and couture shops to provide higher quality garments at equal pricing.
I was therefore pleasantly surprised to find my recent decision to switch from polyester to natural fabrics such as cotton, silk and assorted rayons supported here very affordably. The mark ups are obviously quite high but between the Bay Days, Black Friday and Boxing Day it is extremely easy to shop for a wardrobe that will last at a price range comparable to getting 2-3 sets of lower quality clothing that will wear out quickly.

As my grandfather always taught me, buy quality once.
