Extremely frustrating customer care experience. I was given a total brushoff for a defective fabric Gluckstein chair and half. Be warned: warranties are meaningless, customer care reps are ill informed. Do not trust HBC.
Hi this is the place where I go for my shopping with my wife at downtown. It is nice place people are very friendly and respectful to serve as a great.
Often escalators are broken. Very few cashier's open, often waiting in line for service.
Very large store with a lot of choices, however unwelcoming and you feel a gloomy atmosphere

The staff here honestly do not seem to care at all. Very quick answers so they can get back to slowly pacing around the store. I have been here 3 times in the last week and dealt with 5 staff members. All just do not seem to give a $hit about helping a customer.
Possibly the Best Department Store in Vancouver. Amazing Service. The gentleman, Mr. Max in Fragrances, is an amazing knowledgeable, caring and a delight to be helped by. My wife, myself and almost my entire family, we always go to him. He is not only great with fragrances, but he goes above and beyond to help you with all your needs in the store.
Overall we are very happy with the service we get from Max and others every time I go to Hudson 's bay Downtown Vancouver. I must admit that the None of the other locations of Bay provides even 50% of the amazing service the way you guys serve your customers. So amazing job and keep it up.

Big mall, have most of main street brands but super busy in summer time
After moving into a new apartment a few months ago, I needed some new living room furniture. After visiting a few shops on South Granville St, I heard from one of my new neighbours about a great furniture sale happening at the Bay. Well, I am so glad I visited! Josefina in the furniture department is the only interior designer I needed to talk to! She helped me pick out a sofa that would fit in my small space and through my doorway, as well as some modular options that could act as coffee tables, side tables, and extra seating for guests. Josefina was an absolute pleasure to work with - her advice was straight-forward, aesthetically-oriented, and budget-friendly. My new furniture arrived December 3 and it looks amazing. If you need contemporary furniture, check out the Bay on Georgia St and ask for Josefina - you won't regret it!
I had a very bad experience today trying to phone the Bay at Park Royal bathing suit dept. where I just purchased a new suit. I had to dial 3 different times to get someone to answer then the woman picked up, said I have to put you on hold, click! I sat on hold for almost 20 minutes before I hung up, called the Vancouver store, reached a terrific lady named Leona who offered a solution to me. I went from the very worst customer service in West Vancouver to the very best in Vancouver. Thank you Leona in swimwear.

Mens floor suits was helpful but women floor was hard to find any help. They workers walked around aimless.
Huge full service department store. Nothing much like it anymore. Be sure to check out the massive men's floor on level 6.
Lots of things to shop for here. Top shop has been here for awhile and it is a good addition. Sometimes there are lots of sales here.
I hate to rate the bay on anything lower than a 5 but I frequent this location quite often and every time I'm in the women's department (3rd floor) the associates are so miserable. They never smile, everything you ask of them is an obvious chore based on their body language, they've lost multiple items I've put on hold and I just feel sorry for everyone working there, they make it seem like the worst job...It doesn't make shopping very pleasant but I'll always be a faithful customer, I just wanted someone to know what it feels like to shop there.
Huge selection. Half the staff don't have a clue about the products they're selling.
They need more staff at all locations. The day I was there, bathrooms were not in service, escalators in repair and have been for awhile. I went to buy a jacket and they didn't have my size.
I went to a till to ask them to order for me and she commented that the computers were slower than her grandmother. By the time , she figured it out, the one jacket in my size was taken.
The place is a maze and I just don't ever feel good after a shopping experience there.
It should be fun. People in line either walked away or were standing there upset. Horrible system and one lady said out loud. Can't wait for Nordstroms! Have to agree with her.
What a shame a Canadian company can't get it right.
They charged me full price for some christmas gifts that were marked 50% off, and I didn't notice until after the fact because it was a hectic mall visit. I feel taken advantage of and disappointed with the brand. Double-check your receipts, guys, HBC isn't trustworthy.
This store is confusing in it's layout and lacks any kind of order. Was told I needed to go to the "Sky Bridge" which was down from the 6th floor, not up. SInce I discovered it is the floor 1 stop lower than B on the elevator I would think that it is more likely the sub-basement. Oh well, didn't enjoy the Sears-like atmosphere of the store where there are no employees to be found except at the busy cash wraps. I would rather head over to Nordstrom thanks.

Huge selection f men's clothes. Some of the older men on staff are a bit ornery and the elevators are horrible, but the building itself is a classic and I hope we never see this place go the way of Eaton's.
Always wait for a sale, they are frequent and significant.

It depends on what department you're in, but for the most part, there is zero customer service. I walked around in circles for 20 minutes attempting to find an attendant to try on a pair of pants and ended up just leaving. The washrooms also seriously need to be renovated. Nothing about this place makes me want to spend money.
Great deals and a huge selection. Staff in the women's department were friendly and very helpful. Also, the building is gorgeous and retro, so walking through it is like a experiencing a little piece of history.
This store is a joke, their price match is only for select stores and their staff are very rude and uneducated on their products. Save your money and time and shop elsewhere.
Hudson s Bay has a great men s clothing department with good selection from Ted Baker, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Strellson and Hugo Boss. Shop on Fridays to get additional discounts and promotions. They also price match competitors. The store can also search other store locations if they don t have your size in stock.
Always a deal! Lots of selection. Never walk out of the Bay paying full price. Today we got 30% extra off the clearance pricing.

The men's floor is great. A modern and masculine place to grab a fee great finds.
Over-priced. A jacket from brand All Saints has a mark up of $125 versus the identical jacket online. Especially since this place houses the main store.
