This downtown flagship store has lots of goodies for one to enjoy. You can clearly see that once a very classy and upscale establishment is now falling a bit into crumbles. Based on the decorations and the atmosphere, this store is still pretty nice to shop at despite it's aging building. Staff are super friendly and extremely helpful.

Just dropped in to check out what was on sale. Some good deals and one friendly salesperson helped me with a jacket I was looking at. Didn't buy it but the experience wS excellent. Might go back for the jacket.
Designer section staff are very helpful and friendly every time, but unfortunately have received a complete lack of care from the rest of the store (including the manager who asked me to split my bill between several tills so different staff could receive commission).
After being 'ping ponged' between tills who told me they worked harder than the other, I eventually walked off and re-shopped for everything I had took out and brought them to the designer section. What should have been a very chill experience was created uncomfortable by the staff.
The elevators here suck, so slow. And AVOID the perfume Dept it smells overpowering and you will be 'mugged' by an assistant. They need assistance on other floors.
It is very good and big bay store in downtown..the parking is not the best in downtown. I always try avoid down town. I bought a coat for about 100. And I paid around 18 for parking....
Great variety of brand name items. Sales are a great time to take advantage of some legitimate deals. Customer service is inconsistent (depending on who you speak to).
Good selection of designer clothing however you'll have to look a long time to find anything of decent value. Certain departments definitely have a large mark up. I saw a long sleeve white Polo shirt I purchased for 15 USD at Bellis Fair selling for 55$, a friend also purchased the same shirt in the Richmond outlets for 30$. It is clear they are catering to the wealthier people in Vancouver who do not mind overspending
Highly recommend trying to do price comparisons before making purchases.
I could not of had a more wonderful and pleasurable time with a sales associate, Sandra. She went above and beyond to help me find exactly what I was looking for but also deliver the best customer experince, ever! Thank you Sandra
Its hard not to think of the bay. Have always enjoyed shopping at the bay. Its a little more pricy but it's worth it for the quality merchandise that they carry
great place to buy a television , even if your credit history is poor to ok. I would definitely recommend this place . The Bay cares about the little guy NOT like The Brick at all
I feel so bad for the Bay. It's such a bug part of Canadian history (not always nice tho!). The store is huge and has everything under the sun. Not sure that's how people shop any more. I onlh went in for a gift card. It can take a while to find your department otherwise or a working sales clerk. The people who work there seem kinda sad. Such a big store. So little customers. At least they have Top Shop! That place is popular.
Hard to find staff to complete a purchase or gain access to a fitting room. Items aren t priced properly or organized - especially during sales. Avoid the second floor shoe area because it can take 30 minutes to get the size you want pulled to try on unfortunately. Good one day sales and housewares section usually does have lots of variety.
The people that helped me were great. Unfortunately, the website makes it very difficult to buy something online and then pick it up at the store. The staff was able to order it online for me but couldn't process part of the order using my gift card. Staff 5/5. Website 0/5.
I don't usually post bad reviews about companies, but I was just dealt SO poorly at the Pacific Center Hudson's Bay location, specifically the Watches department. I had a watch repaired there on Friday, noticed they missed putting a piece back, and went there today to see if they had it somewhere, after asking me if I was sure my watch had that piece they said it was most likely in the garbage. After I assured them it did have the missing piece, they said I should have brought it back Friday... I don't live DT and the commute is 1.5hrs away. The customer service rep basically said there's nothing he can do about it, and the missing piece won't magically appear out of no where, except send my watch away for 8 days and basically just stood there looking at me until I accepted the fact and walked away since I didn't want to have to send my watch away for 8 days, then come back again. TERRIBLE customer service!!! The part that upset me is the CSR questioning me, telling me I should have come back on Friday, and most of all belittling me by telling me stuff won't magically appear and just stood there looking at me until I left.
Beautiful building on the outside but a pain to navigate on the inside. It s poorly laid out and it s easy to become disorientated. The staff are adequate but generally not very knowledgable. The elevators are slow and the escalators are often out of service. The store has so much potential and really would benefit from a complete redesign and overhaul. Although that s probably in the works with the building recently sold to private developers and plans for the store to be reduced to a couple floors only. When there s a sale on you can get some decent deals.
This location is large and well stocked but dells very outdated. I mean the machines don't have tap! But hey the employees are nice and considerate of that. Also their elevator is kinda Soviet.
Hard to find a cashier sometimes...could use some more signage for exits, escalators, fitting rooms as it is a big store...also, slow elevators. But I found a great shirt on sale :)
Great store one stop shop for male and female shopping downtown. Great associates. Great location. A history of being a great company. My go to place for clothe shopping without a doubt
the 4 floor woman clothing section is no good ! the services are sooo bad and I left. the manager and service person didn't want to resolve any problems and try to make you wait. I will not buy anything from the Vancouver location again !
The Bay has some great sales and is worth visiting, but the flagship store can't compare to Nordstrom's or Holt Renfrew for merchandising display, ambiance nor brand selection.
Best place to go if you want some normal products. They do have good service and a great variety of products. The interior designs are quite good, and are competitive in some areas with local competitors. Too bad they are planning to sell the location and the old building will be missed.
The Bay practices an odd kind of bait and switch in their kitchenware department: they have the advertised sale product in stock, with signage showing the sale price, but when they scan the product at their cash register it doesn t show up. I don t mean the sale price, I mean the product itself doesn t show up. What follows is 15 minutes of the salesperson laboriously scanning and rescanning, asking the customer to read out the UPC code, etc. There is apparently no manager available, nor any way to sell a product if it doesn t scan. Fortunately I was able to go next door to London Drugs and get the same product without any hassles!
You would have to look very hard to spot one shred of Christmas at this downtown Vancouver department store. While it's counterpart Lord and Taylor in the United States prides it's self on stunning Christmas trim inside and out side the store not to mention the gorgeous Christmas display windows...this Canadian version has virtually nothing. Most floors have no Christmas trim at all. The main floor which should be a Christmas show piece looks like display people have not finished the display. Unadorned sparsely hung garlands and a few trees from days gone by decorate the store's vast main floor. There are no Christmas windows and there is absolutely nothing on the exterior of the store to suggest Christmas! The store - once a must see downtown Christmas destination now seems to want us to forget about Christmas all together. Why when Lord and Taylor in the USA becomes a show place at Christmas and indeed through out the entire shopping year.
