Good hotel for downtown. Within walking distance of all the things you would do in NOLA. You get a special treat if you have status and are celebrating a special occasion and mention that during booking. Watch out if it starts raining the water will be coming up through the storm drains in the streets.

My first stay at the InterContinental in New Orleans was pleasant. As a Google 1 member, it notified me of a good price on the room, and I was happy with the accommodations.
Our stay was perfect just recommended them to have a personal refrigerator in the room and a guest microwave on every floor to accommodate their guest.
Good stay in general. Staff was friendly, but the worst part of staying here is waiting for the elevator. There are multiple events here right now so we waited five minutes for an up elevator. Small detail? Maybe. But for a tall, busy hotel like the IC, two banks of elevators might be a game changer.
Terrible experience during our stay. Really disappointed that the hotel security question me and my wife, with negative intent, for sitting outside our room quietly while our infant daughter slept inside. #badcustomerservice
The Intercontinental in New Orleans is a beautiful hotel in a great location. The St. Charles Street trolley goes right past it. The lobby is very nice with comfortable seating areas and a nice bar.
We had two nights of good stay in here. Great location just outside French Quarter so it is not too busy with travelers and drunk people but still in walking distance to French Quarter for your favorite restaurant and bars. The room is a little old but still clean and cozy. The bed is comfortable and pillow fluffy. If you are lazy, it also has very good restaurant just inside the hotel for your convenience. The staffs are friendly and valet parking is convenient for $42 per night, which is expensive but reasonable given the location of the hotel.
Got here for conference. Not enough towels in room for two people. No guide book for room service and reservation was for two but only one robe and slippers provided. Oh and the remote for TV worked spotty...had to press volume once for each increase that's messed up. Otherwise the hotel is just fine
Wonderful hotel and enjoyed our stay, but after believing we prepaid for our room, I was charged a $50 incidentals fee at check-in. I am hoping this is like a deposit that will be returned in 24 hours. If so, I definitely will increase my rating. If not, I can't rate it higher because it wasn't worth the extra $50.
The Hotel is very well located, in its external premises, it has a Starbucks, at about 15 minutes walking there is the Convention Center, the Bourbon St and the Riverwall Shopping Center. It does not have free parking for guests, only valet parking service is available, price per night $ 46.00 dollars plus taxes, just next door you will find a public parking lot with a rate of $ 25.00 dollars per night, your vehicle can enter and leave it , how many times a day is necessary. without applying additional charges.
The hotel is gorgeous, as you would expect from any Intercontinental. The staff was friendly and professional. I was at a professional event but unable to make it it to the cocktail reception; one of the staff must've noticed and kindly brought another lady and myself some treats as we were getting ready to leave. Unexpected and delightful. Only non-positive note is that the line at the front desk was about five groups deep, but perhaps to be expected on a busy Friday evening.
New Orleans was absolutely beautiful. We had so much fun and met so many wonderful people. But as far as our room goes, we won't book at Intercontinental hotel again. Here's why, you could hear every thing from outside and we were on the 12th floor. Then I had no where to store our personal drinks or food, every room has a mini fridge stocked with their items and if you happen to move one,the sensor goes off and you will be charged for it.We have always stayed at a Merriot, and wee loveit But,my husband booked intercontinental hotel for us this time and it truly was a disappointment. We will definitely book the Marriot from now on.
Perfect location for a quick walk to the French Quarter and not being right in the middle of everything. The staff was some of the best I've ever experienced. Everyone was immensely polite and friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. The only reason I deducted a star is whenever myself or anyone around me on the 7th floor turned on the shower it sounded like a jackhammer in the walls.
This the hotel I stay at everytime I'm in New Orleans. It is a great location for everywhere I want to be near by without dealing with traffic or street noise. The staff is always great with any request I ask for. I recommend it to anyone.
InterContinental New Orleans. What a very disappointing stay. the rooms and location are very nice. During my stay I valet parked my car at the amount of almost 50.00. During the time the valet had my car someone went through it and my expensive sun glasses along with my toll cash came up missing. The head of hotel security did a full report and told me he would contact me along with several managers this never happened. The most disturbing thing was that my car never left the front entrance area of the hotel. I find this very disappointing for a hotel that prides them self as a luxury hotel. I would have never thought I would have to remove everything from my car that wasn't fastened down. I find it even more disappointing that being a loyal member since 1999 and Spire that this hotel shows no loyalty in return. I guess I expected more.
Lots of potential. Unfortunately the hotel seems to be cutting corners.
The bad: We had to request a shower curtain since our room didn't come with one. The remote for the TV didn't work and someone forgot to pay the HBO bill. Dish indicated it had removed HBO channels. NOLA should be the big easy but opening a desk drawer revealed a big nasty. Old food and condiments rotten with mold. The exhaust in the bathroom didn't work and most metal fixtures we're rusty. The shaving mirror lights broke after the 2nd night. If your a light sleeper request a room on the sides without a trolly rambling past all hours of the night. The beer in the mini bar may or may not be old, skunked and tasting of fish. My daughter found a pair of flip-flops under the bed. Don't look at the air conditioning filter in the ceiling. I don't think it's ever been changed.
The good: Room service was quick and reasonably priced (for a hotel). The green thumb pizza was great. Housekeeping was efficient and cleaned up well. The hotel itself is beautiful. Concierge helped us find our favorite restaurant with great oysters, Coterie. Gave us a complimentary late check out till 1 and held our bags for free. This hotel could be great with regular maintenance. Early check-in was appreciated.
Tips: the pool is heated but only to about 65 in the winter. Try the restaurant Trenase, next to the lobby.
It was ok nothing to write home about...one manager that just started a couple months ago was so nice and suggested a great place to eat. He was great 5 stars
Very nice room and friendly staff. Reasonably priced and within walking distance of every restaurant and attraction we wanted to see while we visited. Would definitely stay here again.
Spent New Years here with my family after our Christmas cruise what a fabulous location very comfortable beds very clean staff were very polite and helpful i would recommend this hotel very highly thank you!
The management does not care that making a reservation took no less than 8 people and 45 minutes, to secure one additional night. In fact the manager I spoke to informed me it has nothing to do with him but if it made me feel better to tell him go ahead but there was nothing he could do. Very curt, very rude, and even got a snicker out of him. I mean wow, I make reservations for people in our company to travel all over the world all the time and I have never experienced something as ineffective as making a reservation with the Intercontinental Hotel in NOLA. Their central reservation team is just as ineffective. I hope they don't claim to be part of the hospitality industry, because there is nothing hospitable about them.
Our stay here was wonderful! Sam by the grocery section was amazing! Gave us a bunch of insight on the city and made us feel so welcomed! Would absolutely stay again!
The stay was great until I notice that room service stole a wallet out of my luggage an the security team seemed they didn't care. When I asked to speak with a manger I was told I couldn't they kept saying their employees don't steal.... my 24 years in security management an loss prevention says other wise....
However, there are some Great positive side...
The Morning Crew at Pete's was awesome the server Akeem was the Phemonial! Great customer service experience with him... The evening Crew at Trenasse were great as well. Even had the experience with their banquet staff; Leslie was great an I even named a drink after him an Randy the "Prime Rib guy" was Great an provided Awesome service as well.
Even though my over all experience was Great it only takes that one bad apple to take a good experience to a bad one. This was my first time to New Orleans an was told by my friends that people are mugged in the streets..... who would have known I would have been mugged in a 5-Star hotel by an employee.
Great hotel just outside the French quarter. Easily walk to all the best places without all the hassle of staying in the middle of it. Superb coffee and breakfast. A great value.
Wow what a disappointment! I was so excited to stay here and let me tell you why it was SO BAD. I first get there, expecting to see Valet or someone in general like any other hotel. NOPE. Then I try to get into the building. The main entrance to the lobby was closed due to "weather" and stayed closed my entire stay, even though the weather was fine. I spent 20 mins trying to find out how to even get in. I get to the desk, and the guy behind the counter was getting screamed at over the phone and honestly I know why. Finally after checking it my price increased by 150 dollars for no reason and no explanation. The next day the other nicer, more professional guy, I'm assuming was the manager explains its an incidental fee and was actually very helpful. No robe in the room, which was advertised. Lastly, and most upsetting. I'm heading to my room and there's a group of housekeepers blocking the hall way. I say excuse me as I try to squeeze by. One of the housekeepers tries to get this young chicks attention to move to the side. She was like I'm not moving I don't give a F*ck if its a customer. Well being that at a hotel we are considered "guests".....that did it for me. I actually review hotels on my youtube channel, and I was so excited for this one. Not anymore. But anyway if you want a full video review just search Mrbucketlist hotel review. Stay away from this place...
The stairs going to the ground floor are hard to find. We had to wait a long time for elevators to get from the second down when we easily could have walked.
What a joke. On parade route and they close down the sidewalk and make parade goers and even folks paying to sit in their stands detour on to street or go blocks around. Aren't sidewalks public Access?
Clean, modern enviroment. Met our needs when trapped by a tropical storm. GM talked to us to assure us of safety and the measures they were taking to make sure everyone was comfortable and calm.
Good location but a few flaws. The room was nice and clean but there is a door that separates the 2 rooms was very thin. We could hear people talking throughout the night. There was also construction going on and it was pretty loud starting at 7:00 AM. The trolley was pretty loud as well - it almost sounds like an airplane taking off when one rolled by. Housekeeping came by pretty early to clean the room - it was kind of a pain...we also did not have a do not disturb sign...so every morning they would knock on the door and we'd have to get up to answer the door. The location was great though. Very close to Bourbon street but just far enough where it wasn't crazy.
