A beautiful hotel with a very typical style of the area yet classic. Friendly and helpful staff. It has two restaurants and a lounge bar. A beautiful lounge. The room we stayed in was very large and spacious.

4 night, 5 day stay on our honeymoon. The hotel was clean and the room was large. There is no fridge or microwave in the bedroom which was a bummer. Was yelled at by housekeeping staff to not walk on her mopped floors when the sign left out was a "Caution Wet Floor Sign" not a "Do Not Walk Here" sign. Had to yell back at her for the manager to finally step in to correct her behavior. Then manager lied to us about a refund due to his employees bad behavior for yelling at a paying guest. Ended up only refunding us two nights of parking = $44. The pool and restaurant were not open but other pools and restaurants were? Tons of garbage around outside the entrance. A lot of evacuees hanging around the lobby and outside. Other than that, hotel was clean, clearly from being yelled at, and I got free Beignets mix since it was expiring this month. Will not stay here again. Corporate did not help at all either. Had to call them twice to get a reply regarding the poor service and lies told to us.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful with a staff that was not only great, went over and beyond, and I get that great service at any Intercontinental hotel I have visited. I appreciate that even though I am not at the top of the rewards program. I'm probably the lowest level, but still get treated like they really appreciate I'm to there. Anyone can build a nice pretty building, however it's the staff that makes it a place you would come back to.

A decent hotel right in the middle of the French Quarter, heres what not to do, order room service, it's awful the two times we did it. Heres what to do, go out and enjoy the city, a nice location but the inside of the hotel isnt that great.

I stayed at the INTERCONTINENTAL New Orleans from 6/16/19-6/6/20/19. Although the hotel has a few shortcomings I want to focus on one incident that occurred during my stay. $200 was stolen from my room sometime throughout the day/early evening on Tuesday 6/19. I'm not overlooking the fact that I should have secured my money better, that is my fault in the matter. I went to the French quarter took some cash with me and left the rest of my cash in the envelope tucked away in my bag, in the closet under a pile of dirty clothes. When I returned I was preparing my stuff for a return flight home on Wednesday and counted my money, realizing that $200 in one hundred dollar bills were missing. They generously only peeled off some of the money. How thoughtful. Immediately went to front desk reported it. The next morning was due to leave, ends up my flight was delayed, then cancelled. When I reported the theft, front desk manager said they would be having a meeting Wednesday morning and letting me know what came of it. Wednesday evening went to front desk again since nobody contacted me Wednesday, more run around someone will talk to me Thursday morning. Thursday morning I went to check out and the manager saw me and disappeared into the office. Arrived home Thursday still no contact/update. I received a text from intercontinental for survey, I mentioned that I'm waiting for an update on the status of the theft. They texted back, we'll be contacting you soon. A week went by after I sent another text and included my email again I then yesterday 6/27/19 received an email stating they investigated and found no wrongdoing of their staff, and basic instructions of how I could have used the room safe. Oh, and link if I would like to file a police report with NOPD, link was dead. I'm not going to go through all that anyway.
I would think intercontinental would want to know that a person on staff is stealing from guests. I don't expect my money to be returned, I wrote that off the minute I realized it was missing. There's a lot of lodging options in New Orleans, stay somewhere else!! This recommendation is based on the fact that someone stole from me, and the hotel is basically acting like I'm being untruthful ,and it's my fault for not putting my cash in the safe. The person who took my money will do it again, don't say I didn't warn you that you have a thief on staff.

Very nice hotel. Very clean. Only a 5 minute walk to Canal street and Bourbon. Great location to play in noisy lively french quarters, and come home to a quiet neighborhood to rest, relax and recoup. Oh and after a night at the french quarters, you can order food from Daisy Dukes, which is open 24 hrs just a building down the same block. Better than paying room service.

We used the last minute deal for 4 star hotels on priceline and they gave us this room. The hotel is conveniently located in the French Quarter, not too far from what most of the quarter has to offer. I live an hour or so away so, I've stayed in Nola a lot. This isn't the best 4 star hotel I've stayed at there but for $108 on a last minute deal it was deffinetly worth it.

The pros: The beds are comfortable, the hotel is decent with their decor, the beds are pretty comfortable and the exercise room is pretty nice.- The location is conveniently located.- The hotel is conjoined with a nice office building that the restaurant opens up to.- It offers a nice Mardi Grad parade package for $150. All inclusive and nice stand to view from.- Trolley runs right in front of it.- Not too many interactions with staff but, the ones I met were very nice and helpful.

The cons: The restaurant was pretty terrible considering you're eating in the capital of greatest food on the planet.- The hotel is tucked off and the front entry seems like you are staying off in an alley with all the construction surrounding it.- The parking through valet is $45 when you can park in same garage, or somewhere near, for $20. If you are someone who doesn't like looking for a spot then you'll have to pay the $45.- Not very nice views on most sides of the hotel. Understandable since your downtown but even at the top floors there isn't much to see.- No continental breakfast and wasn't told there was a breakfast buffet (for purchase, although kids eat free) until after we ordered.

Conclusion: The Intercontinental is a decent hotel with nice beds, decor, location and staff. But, I can think a hand full of hotels near by with extremely better food and views. With the priceline last minute deal price, it was worth it. I wouldn't consider paying full price for the room. I'd prefer to stay somewhere else near by for the same price and better services.

I really enjoyed staying at Intercontinental New Orleans thanks to friendly, professional and courteous Salman at front desk. It's amazing how one person can make your whole stay such a pleasure, and I wish more hotel staff like Salman. His willingess to take care of your problem and make the stay pleasant was so obvious, and I was really grateful to have him there. I also liked the room. I think it's the only A/C system at hotel that didn't make much noise, and I was able to sleep very well. Even though the property is not brand new, it was well maintained and coudln't find anything to complain. Highly recommend this place.

Stayed there for 2014 Essence Fest. I paid $2000 for 4 nights that I booked through the festival website. I booked a superior room for 4 adults. When we walked into our room it was one bed. We spoke with the manager about getting us another room. Because it was the Essence Fest all the rooms where booked. The only thing he could do is give us a roll away bed and a $25 food voucher. There was no refrigerator in the room. The ice maker on our floor didn't work. I was told I was welcome to come get the utensil I needed if I couldn't wait any longer for room service. On the other hand the valet gentlemen were very nice. That's the only good thing I can say. Wont ever stay there again.

The staff was AMAZING always available to accommodate your every need. Valet service was AWESOME they did it all from opening car doors, welcoming you back, to assisting with packing the car upon departure. The rooms were EXTREMELY CLEAN. I'm a fan of odd art pieces as well as pictures of New Orleans which is a part of the decor. I wish I could've afforded to stay longer, just one more day of heaven would've been nice.

Fantastically superb! The place is beautiful and well organized. The water is soft and the beds are lush. During Mardi Gras they take steps to ensure the craziness doesn't breach the lobby courtyard, so you feel safe and transported when overwhelmed by the event. Worth the money and I would definitely return here for my next Mardi Gras.

Nice staff, our room has basically no sound privacy from the adjoining room door. There is a half inch gap at the bottom of the door we can hear the next guest snoring and coughing through quite clearly. If they were a couple, or kids, we would have heard every word they said. Super awkward for this pricey a hotel. We can also hear all the hall noise. Much quieter than staying in the French Quarter, but check your room for door gaps, or ask for a non-adjoining room.

The fridge in the room is probably supposed to be a minibar, but only has one cranberry juice in it and some plastic pieces. This wasn't refreshed and I stayed here for five nights. Seriously, just remove the cranberry juice and random plastic in the fridge if you're not going to stock the minibar. There are trays on the bureau which also look like they should hold chocolate or snacks, the trays plug in. These are also empty, dusty, and taking up space with no explanation.

Coffee and one tea option in the room, there's a Keurig which is fine for coffee and tea cups. Unfortunately, no decaf tea was provided, only one green tea cup, two coffee, and two decaf coffee. Note there is no coffee or tea bar in the common areas or lobby.

The shower was hard to figure out - the labels for On/Off and Hot/Cold are backwards. I know this sounds silly, but I was pushing and pulling the handle pretty hard for a couple minutes before my partner figured that out.

There is a nice selection of toiletries including a sewing kit and cotton swabs, which goes beyond what similar hotels offer. Overall, decent but not as good as I'd hoped with soundproofing and stocking the room being awkwardly done.

Amazing happy hour! Some of the best oysters I've had for 75 cents each, and well drinks for $5. I would definitely go back for that happy hour again (ends at 6pm, don't know when it started).

Rooms large and clean. The only complaint is the sign in the refrigerator says they charge you if you put your own bottles in the refrigerator. I did not challenge this, but this seemed to be cheap.

All I did was go to the restaurant inside the InterContinental, and not stay inside the hotel. The food at the restaurant was good but I wouldn't crave it. It's great but I feel like I would never feel the urge to have it. Service was good and everything came out in time.

Don't book here using Orbitz or any third-party provider. Their reservations are non-refundable, even if the city is hit by a hurricane. United Airlines gave me a refund due to the weather; InterContinental New Orleans did not. One of the managers actually told me that they feel no loyalty to me because I booked through Orbitz. Interesting. I always thought that hotels were in the business of cultivating loyal customers. At this hotel, it seems that the customer has to earn their loyalty!

I have never set foot in this hotel and don't plan to, so I gave their facilities a 3 to be generous. But their service and quality are terrible.

That being said, the person I spoke with at Intercontinental's corporate headquarters seemed very nice. She was apologetic and suggested that that most of their franchises give refunds to ALL customers during catastrophic events. So I am not sure that I would avoid the entire chain. But this one is bad news.

Do NOT stay here. They were 4 hours late having rooms ready, people were napping in the hallway and the lobby chock full of lugage. Also their staff walks straight into your room and they don t wait for you to answer the door. Even with the do not disturb sign they wont leave you alone - constant knocking. And no one warned me about the heavy construction literally starting at 5 am right outside my window everyday.

Excellent hotel! Visited for Mardi Gras and service was excellent! Everyone was helpful, room was very clean. There's a great restaurant in the lobby that's a must visit! Easy access to the French quarter and other tourist spots in New Orleans.

Located slightly off the main area but close enough to walk. Valet parking, bellhop, beautiful hotel! Very secure, you must have a room key to operate the elevator. The room was very clean, the bed/bedding was so soft. The shower was very large and the water stayed hot. I did not like that the only refrigerator is stocked with their property that if you touch is weight sensored and you are booked for it. They also have a tray of goodies in to of the dresser the same way so if you have little people it will likely be a constant battle to keep them from touching. Other than that this a beautiful hotel.

My buddy and I drove in from Texas to come to New Orleans. We decided we would stay at this hotel cause the location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Check in went smoothly. They do not have free parking, I didn't know this and I felt almost forced to go with their $47 per day valet parking as the other options were half a mile away or we park at meter parking and we would have to renew it every 2 hours. When we got to the room, I have made it a habit to always check the beds and sheets because of past experiences. The sheets and pillow cases were dirty. They corrected this right away but I never received a sorry or anything considering it look liked the sheets were never changed. The room did have a mini-fridge in it, On the night of day 1, the key to the fridge snaped in half after I barely twisted the key. They fixed the fridge with no problems but it was an inconvenience. My next issue didn't come until the final night. I was exhausted after a few days of drinking and walking the city so I decided to get room service. I ordered the Truffle pasta. Keep in mind the listed price on the menu isn't actually the price. In print towards the bottom left of the page states they add various fees for room service which turned my $25 dish to a $42 dish... and the food wasn't good. The coke can I go also had a bunch of dirt and stuff around the brim where you would drink from that if you didn't notice, you would get a mouth full of. The listed complaints above is what I have to say.

Stayed at this hotel for a wedding this weekend. The front desk attendants were very pleasant and attentive. Big shout out to Justin who helped us with anything we needed during our stay. The rooms were nicely appointed and so much quieter than I would have expected in New Orleans. The beds were comfy and the linens were smooth. Housekeeping services were responsive to our requests and very pleasant. Our rooms were kept neat and tidy. The wedding was amazing. The ballroom was set up so elegantly and the food was divine. The wedding coordinator, Miss Isabella, made sure every detail was taken care of. The wedding was just like a fairytale. I can t rave enough about how much my family enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return whenever we come back to New Orleans.

Guest services were very nice and made sure we had what we needed. Everyone was friendly. The rooms are pretty spacious and were clean. The amenities are amazing and the front desk clerks are personable. They have valet parking and courtesy bell hops to your room.

The staff is very nice hence 2 stars and wants to be helpful but overall everyone is far too incompetent to be effective.
At the end of the first day I was angry/annoyed but the midday of the second day, I just decided to sit back and watch the train wrecks as they occurred. It's a comedy of errors i can't begin to explain.
After giving me a dirty room, offered a credit for room service then billed for it anyways. Double and triple check your bill here.

Great

Staff is friendly, but only 1/2 speak English. Restraunts refuse to serve food without sauces. You WILL be charged for using your fridge as a fridge, becuase hotel insists it's a vending machine. Bring your own extension cords and mirrors. And there is not enough light to apply makeup. Rooms are not handicap friendly.
