Don t let them give you a room at the end of the hall if you want ANY sleep. Apparently there s a service elevator the staff use on the side of the building where my room was located (559). The elevator sounds like the kind of industrial elevator that could transport cars. You ll hear the whir of the motor followed by a loud BOOM, presumably when it reaches a new floor, over and over and over and over again. And when you finally think it s over and start to fall asleep a new loud knocking sound from the pipes will start. I know what you re thinking, this is a review by an overly sensitive person and I won t be bothered. Nope. Hotels are public places with slamming doors etc... that s normal. These noises were not, and they were frequent and loud. I m adding one star because it s a short walk to Bourbon Street, but don t think getting hammered will help you sleep because I tried that too. Good luck!

Nice experience. Went to a wedding at this hotel. They rented the entire floor for one week. Persian, Pakistani, and Indian wedding. An elaborate wedding.
The hotel is great and clean, but the pillows were a bit flat for me and the sink in the bathroom is shallow. The shower was great but I kept stubbing my toe going in and out because of the metal rail. It s a great place to stay with an awesome staff and it s close to everything, but the sink and shower are why I can t do five stars on this one.
Beautiful decor throughout the hotel. Rooms are spacious and clean. Excellent service with front desk staff, housekeeping, and all food services staff.
I attended a very interesting series of meetings, and thus didn't see much of the hotel. What I did see was great, an excellent meeting room with all the expected conveniences. Staff was clearly evident though I had no need for their services. And the location was very convenient, in the commercial district.
It's a nice hotel in a convenient location. The facilities are nicely appointed and rooms are comfortable. The restaurants are high quality with a decent happy hour from 3-6 pm. The only downside is the construction happening next door at the moment which is pretty noisy and makes sleeping in challenging.
Great staff and surprisingly professional staff considering most of the staff seem to be under 30 yrs old. No problems checking or checking out. Located on the main strip where everything is at your door step.
Hotel and rooms are very nice. Room service breakfast is pretty good but on the pricey side. Only issue is that the beds were not made with fitted sheets
Between sirens outside all night, the "balcony" that just faces an office, and the insanely overpriced mini bar, I think I will find a different place next time I am in town.
Walking distance to the WW II museum and French Quarter staff was courteous, rooms were clean and decor was consistent with my elevations. Conference rooms well equipped
DO NOT CHOOSE THIS HOTEL IF COMING FOR MARDI GRAS!!! Misleading in every way & not worth the $!!! We chose this hotel due to its location right on the St. Charles Avenue parade route. We live right outside of New Orleans but decided to spend the weekend in the city because we had guests in from California to experience Mardi Gras. Friday night, in between parades, we tried to go to our room and were denied access through the front entrance by hotel security stating that we had to walk around to the back of the hotel and come up an alley (3 blocks total) to gain access to the front of the hotel if we wanted to go to our room or use the restroom during parades (even though we had bands & were paying $423 per night). I went to speak with the manager to find out if there was another solution since it was supposed to rain Saturday and Sunday but was told there was nothing he could do. This was very upsetting considering we were watching guests at the Hilton just across the street access their hotel right from St. Charles. When the manager Joseph found out I was from the area he even went as far as saying that I should already know how things work for Mardi Gras. I was so offended by his condescending attitude. At this point I asked to be refunded for Saturday & Sunday since this information was not disclosed to me when booking and the reason I booked here was for proximity and convenience. He said if I refund you, I have to refund everyone and started laughing smugly. When I tried to argue my point about the rain for the next couple of days and that there should be another solution, he just proceeded to get more rude and said fine, when do you want to leave? I really couldn't believe the way I was treated. Unfortunately we were not able to find a nearby hotel on such short notice, so we had to stay. Needless to say, even with umbrellas and rain boots, we were soaked by the time we ran the 3 blocks to get back to our room when it started raining during Endymion. In the room, the shower fixture would fall off and it sounded like pipes were banging inside the walls every time we showered. To top off the entire experience, I get home to find a $186 parking charge on my credit card, when both of my confirmations clearly state that valet parking was $42 per night. I called to try and correct the charge and I was given to a manager who said that those prices are raised for Mardi Gras. I told him that this was not stated on either of my confirmations and that this is the second time information was not disclosed to me when booking this hotel. He expressed absolutely no empathy and said those are our Mardi Gras prices. I told him that I previously worked in the hotel industry in New Orleans and I just couldn't believe the way I've been treated. He then started laughing at me and said then you know that everyone raises their prices at Mardi Gras....missing the whole point that it's not about the raised prices, it's about quoting me one price and charging another. I have never written a review about anything before, but after being charged $1,455.00 for 3 nights to be inconvenienced, rained on, and treated with such disrespect, I felt compelled to warn others. I would've given zero stars if I could have.
One of the best hotels in NOLA. Centrally located on the Street car route on St Charles Avenue and it's easy to get to the popular locations from there. Lots of good restaurants and bars within walking distance. The service and the rooms are excellent. Happy hour is a daily activity and their restaurant has good food at moderate prices. Check out Taylor at the reception desk, she along with the other young ladies and young men are friendly, courteous and efficient! We did the JetBlue Getaway Vacations which was worth the price we paid.
Lovely stay! The happy hour foid and drinks brought us back in the late afternoon very often. Close enough to walk to canal street and the party begins. The other direction is the garden district. Trolley is just a hop away. Check out Bienvenue bar/sandwich shop. Right near the main entrance to hotel. Doesn't look like much but delicious lunch. I recommend the fried shrimp spicy wrap. Found it right before our flight out but the daily drink specials looked fantabulous!
Booked two rooms for 5 nights. Emailed them a couple of days that it was a special occasion (but didn't ask for anything). Check in and in general service over our stay was lackluster. Very disappointing considering the class of hotel and that this was a special occasion for us. Otherwise, location is good (don't drive!). Rooms are small but ok. Washrooms very small and sink is very high, this was a bit of an accessibility issue for us with a toddler and a senior. On site restaurants very good if pricey. Pool is outdoors (not clear from pictures). Overall ok but think we'll stay at a different hotel next time in New Orleans, and not sure about Intercontinental.
Loved the location of this hotel. Barely a 10 minutes walk from the French Quarters; you get to stay in a confortable hotel without the loud craziness of Bourbon Street following home. Rooms are specious and conformable. The pillows could be a bit firmer, but that's just a little note.
The outdoor pool is amazing, and their gym has everything you need. The free wifi also works wonderfully compared to other hotels.
Stayed here friday and saturday night after my wife and I got married for a weekend in the city. We were both disappointed when the hotel really did nothing "special" for our wedding weekend. Another shocker was no mini fridge in our room with a balcony so our food ended up getting spoiled. The room was very clean and hotel was in a good location. We also had to call the front desk twice saturday night for noisy guests at 2 & 4 in the morning. Front desk was helpful. A few minor things was the dfference between 3 & 5 star
