Tired of having to do self check out. How about you hire someone because I'm already paying your ridiculously high mark up, now you want me to bag my own stuff. How about you do some hires instead of maximizing profits. Just my 2 cents.

I purchased a light that was in sale the day prior...

I purchased a light that was in sale the day prior. When I asked If I could get it for that price I was told by the sales person I had 90 days for a price adjustment or to return. So I bought it, confident that the light would go back on sale About 2 weeks later it did! So I took my receipt into the store to get the adjustment for $35. When I went to customer service the Home Depot associate looked at me like I was crazy and told me they don t do price adjustments. I explained that I was told they did when I bought the item. I argued my case and asked for a manager and they would not entertain my concerns. They said I d have to return the product and repurchase at the Lower price. Upset, I said I would go and buy it right now and return it with the original receipt. They said I couldn t do that. Regardless, I went into the store to buy the light. So I could return it later to get my $35 back. So while I was in the store I bumped into another Home Depot employee and explained the situation. He went on to tell me there is a 30 day price guarantee. And they proceeded to adjust my bill. This rant is merely me upset that the customer service reps had no customer service skills whatsoever and acted like I was wrong and blatantly refused to do what is those policy. This message is for the manager of this location. IF the other kind and reasonable employees hasn t helped me. I would probably never step foot in this store again out of principal. Please train your staff to be respectful and helpful. Please make sure they know your policy s. Etc. Thanks!

Customer service is horrible!! Bought $1700 worth of tools, I was having a problem with my debit card and they treated me like a criminal. I had to run to the bank to get cash. When I returned with cash they had big smiles and were friendly again. Bunch of phonies, never shopping there again

I bought a stove from your south common store and a staff member by the name of Sherouza in the appliance section helped me. She was wonderful and went out of the way to look for the item that would suit my need. She is a valuable employee for the store, as she takes care of the customers I always shop at south common Edmonton for all my needs specially appliances.

Terrible floor-walking associates. I thought I was in Idaho or something. Very negative impression. I interacted with three of them, and felt I wasn't taken seriously.
Completely apart from that, I had extremely good service from two associates at the Customer Service desk. I have no idea how I could have such different experiences from the two departments, but I'm being honest.
I won't be going out of my way to go back, but kudos to the CS desk at least.

I almost always find what I need. Their clerks still have a 'run and hide' mentality like in a comedy sketch. They avoid eye contact and sometimes flat out ignore you calling for their attention. That's nothing new, though.

Unconventional store layout compared to most others as well. As a construction worker I don't need to spend extra time wandering around because you wanted to rotate this store.

We usually have great customer service here, so we were very disappointed with our experience today. We asked four employees if we could get some help in the aisle...After 22 minutes someone finally came. He seemed very disinterested and pretty much just walked away mid-sentence. We ended up going down the street and found what we were looking for at Lowe's. We will definitely think long and hard about returning here. Horrible customer service!!!!

Too many workers with poor customer service. Not the first time I've seen poor service here. Was just booted out of an aisle for them to do some pallet work etc, they do this when they need to bring in a forklift, for safety reasons. Definitely understand the reason, but the person that was "helping" me didn't bother to attempt to offer assistance to get me the product I wanted before she booted me. Maybe ask if they can get me something before you close down the aisle for 20 mins. She was awful at customer service before this started, with her obvious disliking of her job, but wow. I just walked out of the store and went to a different location that has people that actually help.

One of the last home improvement stores in Edmonton. During this time of covid 19 the staff are using the virus as a way of not helping customers. I stopped and asked 5 staff members where various items where located and they would just point but not assist you in locating what you need. I really miss the totem stores as they would help you.

Horrible experience. The most unprofessional staff I ve ever met. I like the Home Depot on 17 st because the staff there wants to genuinely help you. SOUTH COMMON HOME DEPOT HAS GARBAGE customer experience. She kept raising her voice and would not want to listen to what I had to say. The manager Diana wasn t helpful either, didn t even ask what happens just completed the sale and off I go. I hope people there learn.

I want to thank Lorraine, the designer that helped us with our kitchen. She was amazing! Professional, accommodating and very knowledgeable. She made the layout I was hoping for happen. We went with the Thomasville cabinets and couldn't be happier. Thomasville is made here in Western Canada. Excellent product. So thank you, Home Depot and Thomasville and Lorraine for excellent customer service and a top notch shopping experience.

The employees were extremely helpful. In the hour I was in the store, I had about 7 different people ask me if I needed help. A couple of them walked me to my item.

Recently we ordered supplies for a deck with delivery. We had schedule delivery for Tuesday, June 30. We had hired someone to build our deck Wednesday, July 1. On the Tuesday, Home Depot called to say they had over booked delivery s and wouldn t be able to deliver that day. They would call us to confirm our new date for our new delivery but since July 1 is a holiday they do not deliver on so we wouldn t be able to get it for the Wednesday. We had to cancel on our contractor and pay a cancellation fee. We also had to wait until there next available time for them to build our deck which isn t until next week. 8 am today, July 1 we get a phone call saying our delivery would be here in 30 mins. We still haven t received our phone call to confirm our delivery. When the driver came to drop off the supplies he let us know he only had 15 mins for delivery so he wouldn t be able to put it in our back yard or in our garage. Pretty excited that we can only take one car out of our garage and that we have all our supplies in our drive way.

I've been waiting for my appliance to come for more than 4 hrs, its passed the given time when they supposed be delivered., but until now we don't have any call if they are on the way.
Not happy on the time frame that they schedule for delivery. They confirmed this 2 days ago. Its useless if they dont do what they said.

Being referred to purchase online as the store doesn t carry certain items ( in this specific case dewalt 13.5 thickness planer) might not be the best way to keep customers coming into the doors. The appeal to walking in a store is buying it today, right now, seeing it, touching it. Choosing to forces customers to purchase online is opening to door to much more competition, who may be priced better. I bought mine the same day off amazon for $100 less and it delivered to my door. On from there I do tend to use them as my default lumber store. I live about an hour away and so I head down with the trailer and get it all at once. The staff is generally knowledgeable, store is typically stocked though I ve had so issues this fall getting enough pressure treated timber. The young lad had some sort of reasoning as to why he couldn t bring the a new skid inside. the garden selection is always impressive as well... for what it is.

Worst experience I ve ever had at any retail store I was in less then 3 days ago and the store manager John gave me a quote and honoured a price which he handled very professionally same with the sales person mike who was excellent but I told them that I couldn t pay for it today so could you honour this price again and they agreed to it but when I went back today and was treated horribly by the staff and made it seem like the previous employees never said that. If you do go to Home Depot I recommend dealing with mike or John because they are the only people who actually listen to the customer.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. Was made promises and not followed through. The manager blamed a computer for not doing what he promised. Offered us a discount and then said it cannot be honored at another store. No rain cheques allowed. All around lied to after spending $800.00. Highly do not recommend going here.

It's been 6 months since I've ordered blinds and HD has still not been able to finish the job. The initial installation was full of errors, measurements were wrong, customer service non-responsive, and they prematurely took final payment (in breach of contract) and refused to temporarily refund. Strongly recommend you look at another vendor.

Update: blinds issues finally resolved. Adding an extra 2 stars as the management team was helpful and willing to help push resolution. Unfortunately the vast majority of the engagement was negative but they did make things right in the end

We were trying to buy a BBQ. We could not find a store that would sell us a BBQ assembled, even for a set up fee. Our BBQ stopped working and we wanted one, ASAP. We called Home Depot, we explained our situation and asked if "we could buy a BBQ off the floor and take it home", we were told yes. We drove to the store, found the BBQ we wanted and tried to buy it. We were then told, no we cannot buy that BBQ.
I don't understand what business model these companies are following. Here is client that has the money, wants to buy a pretty expensive product, and they are told no. We asked to speak with Bill, the person on the phone that said we could. Of course he was busy, but we could not buy a floor model, even for extra set up fee.
We left, disappointed. Not only did Home Depot lose that sale, but the interest to buy there for lack of customer service is noted.
We did go to Peavy Mart. Not only did they sell us a floor model (for an additional set up fee of $50), but we also purchase a patio furniture set and fire pit. Dropped a lot of money, for good service and a management team thinking outside of the box.
