Fantastic views, unbelievable service, We had our wedding night dinner at California Market at Pacific's Edge. The staff could not have been more friendly or informative, and ohhh so professional. That being said, I'm sad to say that we started our dinner with the seafood Hors d'oeuvres platter. This consisted of crab legs, Lobster, Clams, mussels etc. The platter was more than enough!!! should not have ordered our Entre'e ....And now for the negative part, we were both violently sick all night and the next morning....all i can figure is that either some clams or mussels weren't fully cooked or were not right to begin with.....I haven't been that sick in years!!! And on my wedding night ....!!! Just saying that i would pass on that again is all.

Staff is excellent! Property is dated and some rooms are in drab condition. My first room was dirty and very worn. My second room was much better but the shower and coffee maker were broken.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! My husband and I came for a quick getaway and loved the beautiful ocean views. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Lee the bellman who helped us feel welcome and provided great area recommendations. The hotel seemed to be taking COVID measures seriously and appeared concerned for guest safety. Overall we loved our stay at the Hyatt and will definitely be back!

Usually go here for their bar and during the days were the fog isn't creeping in. Brian behind the bar is amazing. Makes some great cocktails anytime we ask for him to craft something up for us. Great views. Prices are what you would expect for a Hyatt on an ocean front hotel.

The service here was good overall. Parking is complimentary valet. The hotel staff help bring wood in. Our tv did not work but they came to repair that. We got complimentary alcohol but since we are tee totalers, they replaced that with sparkling cider & chocolate covered strawberries. At their main restaurant, we were given a meat soup instead of the vegetarian one that we ordered & that was replaced. So all in all, good service. The hotel has ocean views throughout, & that is what you are paying for here. The lounge is also a good place to watch the sunset. At night if you are bored, the pay per view is quite expensive, so get DVDs from the Safeway down the street.

The view from our room was stunning. The grounds are beautiful. Our bellman gave us a tour of the property. The restaurant has a new deck and the views are unbelievable. The nearby town of Carmel by the Sea is relaxing and has a lot of fun shops. What a great stay!

We are loving our stay at the Highlands Inn. The grounds are just lovely. So much greenery. And the room with ocean view is stunning. The views from the main lobby and restaurant are overlooking the angry sea, the trees and rocks and some luxury homes. Very quiet in May with few guests. The pool felt cold even though it s heated but the hot tub was better. The room is cozy and the ocean sounds can take your worries away. Great shower pressure and a real wood fireplace in the room, which you ll use because apparently summer forgets to arrive in Carmel!!!

Room is nice. Older structurly but kept up well. Fireplace in room is not gas. They have matches and wood inside ready to go. LCD is small for room (see pic). Some rooms look like they likely don't have a good view. So chance is gonna play a role here. Now for the 3 star part. No idea why all the hotels avoid sound proofing. There are neighbors above us and we hear EVERYTHING. We were woken multiple times to them stomping and talking. We thought they'd sleep in since they were up so late but at 7 am stomping and talking again. I don't believe they are being excessive necessarily. It is simply thin walls. If you are a heavy sleeper or don't mind noise this is a nice spot although way too expensive in my opinion for what you get. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Resorts restaurants are closed and not sure why at this point.

Incredible views of Big Sur and well manicured landscaping. Listen to the sea lions and the waves crashing from your balcony. Cook your own meals in your kitchen, or enjoy fine dining and incredible views from their restaurant.

The views, service, cleanliness, food, and views are all top notch. Finding our room was a bit confusing but my wife and I really enjoyed our stay. The fireplace in our room was ready to go and provided a great ambiance. Oh, and the views were great.

Beautiful sunset. The rooms are clean and come with everything you need. They have complimentary valet and bring up your suitcases. They have an amazing restaurant and bar! Everything in the room was perfect! They even had cheese tasting and live music! Thanks Hyatt!

The view is awesome. Very covid safe. Prepare to order out since there's no on site dining available.

The bathrobes and views made it a memorable trip! I hope I can visit here again!

Been coming here since the 80's to play the grand piano, sip on some hot tea, and share unforgettable moments with friends & loved ones. ;-> The fresh pine scent over crisp ocean air, the atmosphere of the Inn, the ambience of the lounge, and the scenery from its gargantuan windows are second to none. The roaring massive fireplaces on either side of the main hall/lounge are a very welcome treat in winter. Memories, sweet memories, are made here. I would sign the guest book like I did in December 1998 (or was it January 1999???)... if they still had one... Come here to be in the present moment... or in moments past, and you may find yourself remembering, wishing, dreaming...

When I booked this room for our 41st Wedding anniversary, I requested an ocean view. Little did I know it was in the last row, downhill, including three sets of stairs! Then, when we went on our balcony with an ocean view, all you could hear was the traffic from Coast Highway 1!! Parking was horrible, had to drive up a hill, then walk down three sets of steep steps back to our cabin . This property is very confusing!! There are time shares the Tinklepink hotel AND the Hyatt. There is NO direct line to the property, therefore our poor room location. We have spent many wedding anniversaries in Carmel by the Sea and had lovely accomadations. We thought we would try Carmel Heights at the Hyatt, but were very disappointed (even during Covid 19). Hyatt Regency should have a DIRECT line to better inform their future guests regarding their rooms.

Extremely thin walls, bad customer support, front desk is super rude and lies to you if you file a noise complaint that no one's upstairs even though there's obviously someone living upstairs. You can hear every step and stomp of every single person above you if you have the bottom floor, it's good luck relaxing if there's kids or pets above you running around for 16 hours a day. I've never had such a bad experience at a Hyatt before, especially one that had an averagely nightly rate of $1000. Called of ice and then they would say it's coming right away and you'd have to call back 1.5 hours later again to request it again etc. Would never stay again. Negative stars.

The experience and food were lovely. The problem was they illegally charged my credit card triple the amount I signed for! I first noticed online the next day when there were 2 card charges under their name on my statement. I called the GM and never heard back. The next day there was only one charge but it was triple what my bill was! I have called the GM twice and the restaurant manager twice and they still haven't returned my calls. If you have been to this establishment recently I would check your statements. Their handling of this, or not handling of this is egregious!

Beautiful place to stay. Next to Point Lobos ocean scenic hiking location. Very spacious rooms with all the amenities. Rooms have kitchens, own balcony, and fireplace, as well as separate living spaces. Also available as timeshares. Restaurants and bar on site with awesome ocean views , and a spacious lounging area. Gym, swimming pool, and even bikes are available. Close enough for short drive to great restaurants, 17-mile drive, or Carmel-by-the-sea, etc. Staff was great. Would recommend and return.

Megan at the front desk was so lovely, accommodating and helpful! Actually all the staff were a pleasure. Stayed here with my husband and three sons. We spent an afternoon at Point Lobos and wanted a place convenient to Julia Pfeiffer and Big Sur. We had an amazing time! Really beautiful and relaxing grounds. The boys enjoyed the heated pool, fire pits and table tennis. My husband and I took advantage of the fitness center which was clean and had a good variety of machines and weights. We didn t eat at the restaurant because we drove less than 10 minutes to the Carmel Safeway for s mores, wine and breakfast and dinner to cook in our room. Definitely took advantage of the fire pits and fireplace. The views were also breathtaking. Wifi was great as unfortunately we need it daily for business. Have already told my friends and family, and will try to bring them all back. Thank you Megan! You have turned me on to Hyatt.

We are loyal Hyatt customers and stayed in 5 different Hyatt property types for more than 20 nights in 2019. This property doesn't feel, act, or resemble a Hyatt in terms of service or expectation. No Explorist benefits. Lowest priority service at check-in behind all the time shares checking in on the same day. No upgrades for hotel guests while we heard time share folks happily accepting theirs. None of the champagne offered to others. We payed a $575 nightly rate for an Ocean View room and found ourselves stuffed into a tiny room with a view 70% blocked by a row of trees. Hotel units (as opposed to time shares) have the worst views on the property. No, you cannot get coffee until we open at 7am. No, you cannot sit in the restaurant until 5 even though the lounge is full and you have dinner reservations at 5:30. No, hotel guests may not upgrade to the time shares. The Hyatt properties have made me accustomed to hearing yes. At this price point, I expected an unforgettable holiday getaway.
The Hotel Lobby Building is beautiful with 5-star views and the food was excellent; but all of the facilities on the lower floors (with equally stunning views) are dedicated toward displaying time share amenities and meeting with potential time share prospects.
Bottom Line: Stop for drinks and even dinner at sunset. Then Walk Back to neighboring hotel properties for personalized service and 5-star accommodations.

The rooms are very nice. The room has a giant shower as well as a big tub. If you're lucky you'll get a view of the ocean. If not the lounge by the lobby has a great seating area with a lovely view.

Spectacular (!) views, dated but perfectly functional rooms, sad pool area. Every room has a wood-burning stove, and the smoke scent in the evenings is overwhelming -- very polarizing, you'll either love it or hate it.

The views are outstanding. Even without the daily maid service (a current COVID precaution) the stay was good. The grounds are lovely. A wood burning fireplace in each room. Relaxing.

This was a romantic retreat before Hyatt bought it. The views from the restaurant are some of the best in CA, but the rest of the lobby is largely wasted space. Still a nice place and incredible setting

Wow! This was my first trip Carmel and staying at the Hyatt added to my journey down the PCH. The views from my room were amazing! Actually breath taking. The room was nice, however, they could use some updating. I had a fireplace and really enjoyed having a fire and relaxing.

The restaurant for dinner was very good and breakfast on the patio overlooking the coast was brilliant.
