Big Sur is a great place to explore and Hyatt Highlands is situated perfectly for exploring. Located south of Carmel the hotel was beautifully landscaped. A morning fire, spa then breakfast on our patio was the perfect ending to a great trip. Staff was welcoming and accommodating

At the Hyatt Carmel, the views are hands down amazing. The room service is expensive but delicious. Each room has a beautiful bathroom, a sofa bed, a king sized bed, and a nice kitchenette for cooking.

Between the view and the service this place is a complete gem. If you re a Big Sur lover but want a cozy cottage to stay in complete with a deck and fireplace this is it. The bellman drives you to your room via golf cart and brings up your bags multiple flights of stairs with a smile. The shower in our room wasn t working properly and they promptly moved us to an even larger suite. It is extremely clean, warm and inviting. We will definitely be back the next time we have a calling to the central coast. 10/10!

Views are amazing. Stayed in a two-level suite with kitchen.

Rooms outdated, lot of scuff marks on furniture and service a miss (housekeeping came by twice in the morning of checkout even though we had late checkout) given the very high price. Pacific Edge restaurant views during sunset are very romantic.

Not kid friendly. Only pack n play, no real crib available. No kids menu in restaurants... But kids menu on in room dining?!?

Overall great for the views but not much else.

This is my first time in this hotel at Carmel. The location and the views are amazing but few negative things stood out. First, the wifi was horrible, second the hotel definitely needed some updates to their carpet and maybe the bathrooms. The staff were very professional and friendly. Close enough to the center and Carmel Village but far enough to enjoy the quietness and serenity at night. The best 2 rooms to book for having the best view and closest to the water are room#s 544 & 546 in my opinion.

What you would expect from a Hyatt. My room had a nice view of the ocean. The fireplace with real wood was a really nice touch. Dinner there was pretty good too. The view from the restaurant is pretty nice.

Go for the view, expect to overpay. That about sums it up. We had a spacious ocean-view suite, consisting of a bedroom and living room with a sleeper sofa, which could be separated by a wood partition. The bathroom was huge, but the space was mainly taken up by a humongous Jacuzzi which we did not use. The kitchenette was a plus. However, the furnishings were dated and certainly not up to the super-premium prices charged. Service was also a bit... odd. Not bad, because housekeeping did show up quickly when we called. However, for instance, we used the sofa bed on the first night and so we were expecting to find it open and remade for the night. Instead, housekeeping had folded back the sofa, so we had to call for service to have it set up as a bed.

Overall, the view and the location more than made up for these issues, and we had a great time. However, I don't think we will pay these prices again.

The hotel is very cool, but the food options are limited and overpriced for what you're getting. Also, there was a major ant problem in my room, and when I mentioned it to them, they didn't seem to really care. I just expect more from Hyatt, but the Monterey location gives much better service for a better price.

My wife and I have stayed at the Highlands Inn many times, including part of our honeymoon a few decades long ago. We adore this place. Huge jacuzzi in the upstairs master. Great ocean views. Good restaurants. It's a 'must stay here' place.

Impossible decide to stay in other hotel in this region after knowing this place. Amazing location, breathtaking views, great food & wine and incomparable service. Hyatt just did great again.

A wonderful dinner where East meets West. If you are in Carmel, you must stop and have dinner here. Food was available for Vegetarian, Vegan, Meat Eaters and all above. Great hospitality.

Quick follow-up, the GM reached out to further discuss my experience, but after emailing him back twice, he never responded. Big shocker!!

Fair warning, this property is anything but luxury. Between the cracked sink and bathtub, hair in the shower, trash in the garbage can (from previous guests) and trash outside our window, that included being littered with several cigarette butts, this was a highly disappointing experience. Especially given the price point.

The cuisine in the restaurant was unnecessarily overpriced and was bland and flavorless.

The worst part of our stay was witnessing 3 of the male service staff hitting on two younger women while feeding them various drinks the whole time we dined. Towards the end of the night, one of the women left her friend at the table and went off with one of the waiters/table setters and we never saw them return before we left. This was truly disturbing to witness and appeared to be a moment one might see at spring break in Florida, not at a supposedly high-end resort.

Epic fail! Hyatt should be utterly embarrassed to have their name on this property. It clearly needs a major revamp in every department. The views are amazing, but not remotely worth the price tag.

I attended a wedding at Hyatt Carmel Highlands this past weekend. The outdoor ceremony space was absolutely beautiful. The indoor recpection space was better than average, with large windows and natural wood accents. The plated dinner was good, but nothing special. The staff was very friendly and accommodating

We're able to accommodate our party earlier than our reservation. There were some issues with the order - soup didn't come with a spoon. Kids pasta was the wrong order. Liked the Benardus Pinot noir that was recommended. Dessert was also yummy.

Thank you Bryan for the feedback but I think the problem was that our hotel was currently bussy and your phone call gets picked up by our friendly p.b.x department group and may help you with you need of direct phone call to the front office, reservations department and many other thank you for the feed back.

The food was amazing!

The food was amazing!
We stayed at the Tickle Pink Inn next door and ordered dinner from the Hyatt Carmel Highlands.
My favorites of our four courses: the mussels meuniere and the free range chicken. I love my mussels, but that was something special and the chicken was perfect on all levels.
Thank you for adding to our experience in such a memorable way.

Five stars for this five star Inn. We are blessed to have a time share, and each year I fall more in love with this place. Excellent views, friendly staff, comfy lounge, wonderful restaurant. I recommend the "Jumping Jack Flash" cocktail, Then we feasted on their artisan cheeses and a charcuterie board. Look out for the roasted almonds, they are addicting.

You can't beat the location, that's for sure. My room by the pool was quaint, not upscale, but great views and I could sleep listening to the ocean. The service was great, especially the valet parking staff. The restaurant was a bit overpriced, but the food was good, not exceptional however. As a spa consultant I thought an "in-room" spa menu / service would've been a nice touch.

Spectacular views, incredible
food, outstanding service. Our server Tony was awesome. He and his staff were professional. Lunch is the best time to take in the grand views of the Carmel Highlands and the majestic coastline.
