We got to this hotel for my sister and I's spring break. The staff upgraded us to a suite, and the view was AMAZING! We could see the sunset from our balcony. We stayed for 2 nights 3 days and I really wished we had stayed longer. The pool was nice too.
My only complaint was that room service to get dinner took 1 hour and 1/2 to get up to our room. We only ordered mac and cheese and steak. That was my only complaint. Other than that I would definitely come back in a blink of an eye.

Fantastic property for lodging while visiting Carmel and Big Sur, etc. Oceanview suites are amply appointed, dining at Sunset Lounge is lovely, and hotel amenities are well-suited for both relaxation and explorative activity (complimentary bicycles and binoculars etc. are provided). Staff is incredible; we were warmly welcomed the moment we entered the inn. Located near Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. Truly a fantastic spot; looking forward already to our next visit.

Stayed with our aunt and uncle. View of the sea was breathtaking. My love and I we're happy to sit on the balcony and admire the view holding hands reflecting on the day. Has a comforting cozy feel. Would gladly stay again. Pull out beds extremely comfortable firm and supportive. Rooms spacious and isolated from noise. We didn't hear other guests throughout our stay.

If you desire a beautiful spot, and nothing else, then you should stay here. However, it is a shame such a gorgeous setting is undercut by indifferent and uncaring management. Customer service doesn't seem to be part of their vocabulary. Instead of trying to accommodate guests during this pandemic, little thought or effort has been extended in that direction.

So so disappointed. I'd been to the restaurant once before for brunch and had remembered it well, but I just went back and everything was truly awful. I dont know if there was a change in management or staff, but my server was aggressive to, not me, but others I was with and my steak eggs (the most expensive item on the menu) came with a good steak, though small, and fries that were underdone. And when I say underdone, I mean you could bend them easily. Im just disappointed that this was my experience. The views are still spectacular but if you want subpar service with food that may or may not be cooked, then chance it.

It could be age - but our room on this 46th anniversary trip was even better than that we had for our honeymoon! Great view, every need anticipated and met. There were even an umbrella and *binoculars* in the room! Although the weather was chilly, the hot tub was more than welcoming. The on-site restaurant, while a bit pricey, was absolutely delicious and staffed with efficient servers. Everyone working there was helpful and we felt welcome and much appreciated. We will certainly not wait another 46 years to return!

Great ocean views from our 1 bedroom suite. This is a lovely property (quite spread out) with attentive staff. Highly recommended for family weekends with the kids, since the renowned Monterey Bay Aquarium is nearby along with Ocean Ave.

The room was great and the view was breathtaking. The hotel staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful with recommendations. We loved having a fireplace in our room that had wood restocked everyday. The hotel was also very quiey, but offered a lot of different activities that would please everyone!

Eat ithe lounge and enjoy one-of-a-kind spectacular view of the Pacific ocean along the coast of California. Great Bar menu and a good value compared to the restaurant on the other side of the room.

Wonderful views from the Ocean View room, except it's always cloudy. The only place you could at are the restaurants in the hotel, which actually makes great food but quite expensive. We had dinner at the Sunset Lounge the first as the restaurant was fully booked. We had Brussels sprouts (good) and pulled pork sliders (good). The next night we had dinner a the restaurant and we had the steak, the halibut and the California salad, plus 2 glasses of wine. $200 bill! The breakfast we had eggs Benedict which were delicious !

A beautiful place, the attention is wonderful, the service is impeccable, the rooms are very comfortable and the restaurant is SUPER, the view from the rooms and the restaurant is beautiful, if you are thinking of staying here do not hesitate! And if you can eat in the restaurant "Pacific's Edge" a gift to the palate!

Don't stay here, especially if you will be coming with a vehicle. Our car was broken into in the parking lot and the hotel will not take responsibility. Upon filing a police report, the police informed us that they have had more than a normal number of car breakins at the property and have advised the hotel to get security, but they have not. I saw zero security during my stay. To top it off, they do not have cameras, which allows the hotel to state that they cannot confirm the crime happened on their property.
If you'd like to have your car windows broken and have the hotel deny responsibility, you can definitely accomplish that at this property!
I would add that the ocean view rooms with fireplaces are good, but the road noise from highway 1 is noticeable.

My boyfriend is a timeshare owner at this property. Beautiful views and setting. And the staff is wonderful. However, Hyatt doesn't deserve 4Stars for the conditions of the suites and rooms. Spend the money necessary to update the furniture, room decor, trim, mouldings, etc. The interiors are 2.5 stars on a 4Star location.

Had lunch at the hotel and the staff was very attentive. The food was well prepared and the view was high up where one could view a large amount of the bay. Fish was fresh and the surroundings were excellent. Valet parking was offered

Stopped in for dinner on a last minute recommendation. So glad we did. Spectacular views, incredible food, and phenomenal service. Would recommend passing up some of the other restaurants that promise great views and opt for this spot.

Just had my wedding here last Saturday. Absolutely perfect. Not only is the location breathtaking, but the staff go above and beyond to be professional. Even though I had an outside planner I know that our perfect day was greatly helped by Shelly and Yuri. Communication throughout the planning phase was excellent. There is turnover throughout the year in their staff. I understand that though, the planning process takes a long time and who wouldn't want to promote these wonderful people? My mother in law was delighted with the staff as well. She could not stop gushing about them, and obviously, I cant' either! Guests were delighted with food and overall experience. We picked the salmon and filet mignon. I recommend the surf room. The pictures I found online don't do it justice. P.S. Thanks Kevin for being an amazing bartender!

Attended a wedding here and it was beautiful. The view was still beautiful even though it was a foggy day. Our meal and service was excellent. We may come back to dine in their ocean view restaurant. Parking was tight but we managed to self park like we wanted.

Stayed here for one night. Came with a baby and wife. Hotel is absolutely not stroller friendly even though they said it was.

Manager on-site was rude; we prepaid via third party but he insisted that it was not until I asked him to check with central reservations.

We were also given a room that wasn't what we originally reserved, but because we had no record/proof, had to settle for the downgraded room. The manager did comp us breakfast.

View of the hotel was of course excellent, but was it worth $560? Not really. Better to just drive on PCH1 and check out Los Lobos and 17 mile drive and stay elsewhere.

Be warned of this hotel! They charged my credit card with exactly 1000 USD one month after the stay. However, everything was settled at checkout. Calling them did not help. Even my travel agency did not get any help when calling them. This is scam. Shame on you! However, the stay was great, the views were great, the room was great, the food was great, the service was great.

Good location, had some issues with the room. The layout is kind of strange, the bedroom isn t really a room to begin with (it can just be separated from the main area with some wood panels). The main problem was the bathtub, however. The thing has a faucet that s the same as the sink, meaning it takes about 30 minutes to fill the thing halfway. Be mindful about the jets, too. I filled the water above the jets, enough that they were fully submerged. Even despite this, the jets turned on and began to spray the wall. I didn t ask for a fountain in my suite but look what I got! Anyways, everything else was good especially the restaurant. 3/5 in my book

Beautiful and very serene. The staff is always pleasant and the rooms are lovely, however make sure you request an upstairs room because you can hear every foot step above you and it makes no sense to complain because what really can be done.

This place has definetly gone down hill. It is impossible to talk to a manager about problems, one can only talk to a phone operator. If you leave a message, noone ever calls back and 4 days calling them has not produced a response from anyone in charge--

Beautiful location with so so rooms. Pictures on the website look luxurious but it s just an older, very small room. The bathrooms need remodeling; especially the toilet and shower area. It s the same bathroom we had as kids in the 1970 s.
The cost is high when you consider what you get! Carmel is pricey anyway but this room is over 900.00 per night (taxes included) We expected much better.

Brunch was delicious. The view was beautiful. But, there are no diaper changing facilities in the restroom which was annoying as we were visiting friends from out of town with my toddler.

Great people and service, unique facility and location. Perched above the Pacific, the rooms are all very private despite being slotted in next to one another. The views are just amazing, the people who run things are professional and genuinely want to ensure your stay is awesome.

Heading out of your room to grab more wood for your fireplace on a foggy costal morning is just great.

We ate at Pacific's Edge restaurant. Valet parking worked as it should and we were happy with their speed. We've eaten at the restaurant before and this was one of our better experiences. Food was excellent and service exceeded our expectations. Someday we'll stay the night but not this trip

Ok

This has to be one of the most beautiful hotels on the coast. Love the private rooms. Fireplaces in every unit really bring a cozy home yet romantic feeling. The restaurant is amazing, not a single dish I ve ordered has been less than great. The view from here, there is no price to compare. Worth staying here at least once in a lifetime. The customer service here is amazing. We re planning on making this a regular go to and have been inviting family and friends.

This is a really nice hotel. There are great views of the ocean from almost anywhere on the grounds. The main lodge is so quaint with a formal and informal dinning area as well as two large fireplaces to sit by in a common area. There are nice paved pathways to walk around the grounds, and a few firepits to sit by.

Have nothing to add about rooms as I only there for a short while for a wedding. Absolutely beautiful hotel and sights, staff was helpful and friendly and the valet was on point despite a large party arriving for a wedding

Overall a great hotel, service was good and people are very nice. Our room was average at best. Damaged sink and very worn out tub. For what they charge the rooms should be maintained much better.

The hotel is expensive but has a fantastic View. It seems like it's quite a bit dated much of the furniture is worn we stayed in the residence inn side where several things were very well worn for instance the stove was very small Warren and none of the knobs had any numbers there were no controls no way to tell what the temperature was set for the oven. we have two parties in separate rooms II parties reservation was messed up and they will put into a very tiny room which forced us to have to leave a day early and change our plans the hotel while apologetic was of no help.

Great time, other than tipping the bellman and I still had to carry a suit case up 3 stories on a hot day or they would get 5 stars. Great location and view the food was excellant. Try the octopuss.

This place is located very close Carmel downtown. Restaurant is great with a stunning view. Food and drinks are amazing. Hotel staff is outstanding, ready to help anytime. I am taking a star off because it didn't live up to the price of the room. I paid over $600 a night and was expecting more out of room. It was a tiny room with a holiday inn kind of restroom and amenities. I guess you pay for the location.

Room was a bit dirty. We told reception and they just said they d let housekeeping know. General lack of interest in our stay.

I think we were spoilt when we stayed at Cambria Lodge the night before. That place blew us away.

This review is solely based on the billing. We checked out right before the hurricane was to hit Florida. We were told that due to the HQ being in the direct path of the hurricane, the company was backing info and shutting down servers to be safe. The manager (Kristine) assure me she would send my bill via email. I never received my bill and they charged the card on file. I emailed Kristine a couple of weeks later and still no response. I then emailed the group box and copied Kristine to which and both emails kicked back with a blocked message. They blocked incoming emails from me?!?! I am I the process of disputing with the credit card company and finally received a copy of the bill, from my CC company. Hyatt provided it to them but never to me. As suspected they did NOT apply the $100 credit my mother in law put on the room as gift for my husband's birthday. What a mess! Never again, Hyatt.

We stayed for 2 nights in May 2019 for my wife's birthday. The staff was super-helpful and made our stay very comfortable. Specially want to call out the Guest services Staff Monica and Veronica for their great service during check-in and check-out. They even surprised my wife with a bottle of sparkling wine for her birthday!

The rooms had a great view of the Big Sur coastline and the usual Hyatt amenities. They were a little small for Hyatt standards maybe due to the layout on the hillock - but the staff and service definitely made up for it.

I also want to call out Sam from the valet services who was great during our check-out, the hotels laid out on multiple levels and we had a bunch of luggage which needed to be ferried around.

Overall: Great location and views for a getaway from the hustle. Tad small/cramped room layouts. Great service, staff and hospitality.

Wedding Info Pictures Only: I came here because I wanted to get married here. I chose this place because the ceremony area was so beautiful. I personally think this place is great for more intimate weddings. It can obviously fit 100 but depends on the area reception you get. I'll update once I get married and talk about the process of their setup.

Edit: Wedding took place at lobos lounge. It was a wonderful setup. Sheena was a wonderful coordinator and our wedding went smoothly. We had a buffet and I wasn't stressed out during the wedding because Sheena did a great job. Your staff rocks!
