Great atmosphere, options for indoor or outdoor seating. Food is good, I personally loves the Knuckle Burger. Beer is not cheap, but not terribly expensive. Overall very nice place, I'll surely be back.

You would never describe this place as 'Laid Back', as their title suggests. Its busy, hectic and has so many rules. I understand that you need certain procedures in place when it comes to ordering but these guys allow for no changes whatsoever and the couple of times I have been there my order has been incorrect and taken forever to arrive. There are many more 'laid back' pubs around the area, try one of those instead.

Love this place. Iconic old pub. It's been going in its current guise for a few years now as a relatively hip, family friendly food and beverage place but still seems fresh and there is always a good vibe about the place

Great pub with an excellent bistro, but a victim of its success--can get overcrowded on weekends. Dog friendly. Child friendly. Order the karage chicken burger... its one of the best chicken burgers in the innerwest.

A great all rounder pub. Classic Aussie front bar, lovely garden outside area and a cool and casual dining area serving quality food with fantastic beers on tap. A well thought out space.

Excellent Marrickville pub. It's got something for everyone: you can bring your kids and dogs; the food is top notch; the beer garden is great for chilling in the sun; the staff are pretty cool.

Best of all are the beers - always a great selection of craft and local beers on rotation - there are new ones every time I go back!

I ve been here with my friends and I ve ordered the cheese & meat board. Even if it seems the easier one to make, I ve waited long time before to be served, and I was the only one without food for a while.
I ve tasted my friend dishes and they where not that tasty.
The place is quite big, they also have an area with tables outside.
It s good for groups of people, but not exactly my type of place.

Interesting range of beers. The Porter was good as was the sirloin. Lots of choices of garnish but it took me 10 mins to find the only pepper grinder. They do slurpies but not coffee but the take away coffee from across the road was expertly made by friendly staff - a few things to fix there to lift the mark above 3

Went for trivia on Wednesday night. Great food at decent prices but it was way too crowded and hard to navigate because of the set up of the tables. Long lines at the bar because of how many people were there.

The Henson offers great food. It looks like a typical Aussie pub from the outside but they've split the pub and the dining areas so they can offer a unique dining experience for families. Very family friendly - we were there on a Friday evening and the place was crawling with kids running around and a few dogs roaming about (with leashes of course).

The burgers were a little pricey at $17 but unique enough to make the journey for my friends and I a worthwhile experience. It's a bit out of the way though, about 15 minutes walk from Marrickville station. I had the Pork Belly Burger (not a great choice) which was a bit "bready" but the Knuckle Sandwich with the wagyu brisket and melted swiss cheese was perfect.

Great Vibe, good staff and large selection of local beers! There is a large coutyard that gets filled quickly. Dog friendly, plus a ball pit.
The price of food can be a bit on the $$ side. But the quality is always worth it!

I've tried to give the Henson a couple of chances but the kitchen's lack of flexibility with the menu is frustrating. A while ago I asked my egg to be cooked well and the waitress said "the chef cooks it how he cooks it" More recently due to dietary requirements, I asked to substitute a bun with sesame seeds to one without and they would not, offering their GF tortilla instead. It's also very kid friendly and not in the good way. Plenty of places in the Inner West these days to try instead.

Highly recommend. Went with a big group and the staff were super friendly and looked after us all night. Sometimes Inner West pubs have staff who are too cool for school, but not the Henson! Give it a try.

Came here on a wet Sunday lunch time and ordered the salmon, and the rump steak dish. The green veges on the rump steak seemed a little overcook as it was lacking vibrant colour, was pale. Other than that, everything else was cooked well and very tasty. This place was designed for kids - spacious, parents room, ball pit (which was closed due to the rain but I have heard it's like a suicide pit as parents dump their kids of all ages there for a drink...so if u have small ones, u need to look after them or they will get trampled and pushed around), kids menu, and loud...a bit too loud. At least if u have a crying baby no one will hear it!

Great pub energy and the staff are working hard to keep things in check during covid whilst also supporting their customers. Felt very welcome - and definitely recommend the truffle fries!

it's a nice place, set up to handle kids, so great for family meet ups and stuff. good range of beers, and the food is generally on. the only issue I have is the massive lack of vegetarian options in the kids menu.
