Friendly local with enough spaces to spread out, a room to dump the kids in, outside beer garden if it's a nice day, a good middle bar section with a few high tables and a cool front bar.

The staff here will do their best to help you out. You can book tables for larger groups, but for a weekend you'll need to book in advance as it's a popular place for local birthdays and celebrations.

The Henson also accepts clipp, this makes their setup of separate tills for the kitchen and the bar easier to manage with a group paying together, or splitting bills using the clipp app.

Parking is getting more difficult in the area, I expect partially because of the other cafes in the area stepping up their game. Try Two Chaps (vego cafe with OK coffee) or Illi Hill (awesome breakfasts)

Mulled cider - yum! And one of the best sandwiches I've ever had, the knuckle sandwich!
Loads of different wines and craft beers, great casual menu and great food!
Will definitely be back!

The venue is advertised as wheelchair accessible but it has no accessible toilets so I had to wheel two blocks to the tennis club to use their brilliantly accessible toilet. On the plus side though. The food was delicious!

Service at the bar is really slow and the staff seem to ignore new patrons until all the regulars are served but the beer is cold. So great for the regulars but if your liking for somewhere new to have a drink go elsewhere. It doesn't seem like they really want us.

Good food but priced at the premium end, the outdoor seating area is great but its a scramble to get a sun shaded table on a hot day, could use more umbrellas if I had to suggest anything otherwise really great place with good service

Absolutely pathetic

Absolutely pathetic

I come to this pub often with my family because it's close to where we live and that's easy for my kids.

Yeserday, I brought my children for the halloween disco event, it was a very busy night. Staff were doing all they could to handle the amount of patrons.
Same cannot be said for the owner who I witnessed make a mess for his staff to clean. He pulled a napkin from a stack, spilling the whole stack onto the ground and then proceeded to deal with this by kicking it and laughing. A waitress had to stop what they were doing to come and clean it up once he walked away.
This is behaviour I was embarrassed to witness, especially from the owner, and especially so when his staff are running around trying to serve and run the business on this particularly busy night.

Why is the owner creating, on purpose, more work for his employees?
This is something I would expect to see perhaps from the children at the venue, not somebody who works here and less so the person who owns the business.

I dont think ill be coming back.

Busy, loud, disorganised & poor service. We were a table of 6 with an overseas guest & none of the food came out together. The fries & dessert we're nice but nothing else. There was zero table service, we had to remove our own glasses throughout the whole lunch. Very disappointing!

Good and original food menu. Excellent and unique selection of beer. Very busy and noisy at lunch over the week end. Kids frienfly. There is also a playground but not really safe so you can't really relax.

Horrible overpriced food. The worst burger and 8 chips ever for $20! The beer is overpriced as well. Music is loud and kids are running around screeching and unsupervised. The kids playground is handy but the lousy food makes it not worth the effort.

Food is good, beers are good, environment is nice. Basically if it s in control of the staff it s good. Great staff and fast friendly service.
Bad
The play room is feral! Not the room itself which is basic but clean but the locals who bring their kids there (sometimes straight from school, still in uniform) and let their kids run wild. It s often over crowded with older kids and totally unsupervised.
If you have tiny people I d say stay away.
We have gone there on and off for years and it s getting wilder and wilder.
I will say it s 100% not the staffs fault it s the other parents who will allow their kids to bowl over other little ones then accuse responsible parents of being a helicopter parent for watching out for their kid.

Great food and great environment to head to during work lunches. There is a great menu selection, suitable for everyone. Prices are a bit steep though. This place is not for anyone on a budget.
Staff are friendly and there is never really a long wait here. It can get a little busy on a Friday.

Amazing spot. Really good beer selection and the food was incredible. I asked for a food recommendation, and the server was correct in saying that the chicken sandwich would change my life . The burger that my companion ordered was equally as tasty. Nice selection of sauces to go with your meal as well.

I always enjoy visiting The Henson. Sure, it can get pretty frantic outside on a weekend with all the kids and dogs, but it's a fun kind of crazy. Plus it's got great food and really lovely staff. It's not the cheapest place around but hey, it's far from being the most expensive either.

Disappointing. Had the beef burger, it was not bad but for $19 at a pub in Marrickville I expected much more. Nothing special about the burger just a bit above average pretty standard to be honest. Served with some frozen fries I expected at least sweet potato or hand cut. No sauce served with the fries either. Mac and cheese was very good. Very overpriced food.

Something for everyone. Front bar for the adults, sports on screen. Themed nights. Games room. Other areas are kid friendly, romper room outback, open air section, 2 extra covered sections. Decent choice of food inc kids meals (could do with being about 10 percent cheaper). Good selection of craft beers and a lovely deli to boot.

Terrible - management came and kicked us off our table because someone booked it even though there was no sign or anything! Pub was full so had to leave! Shocking attitude to customers!! Never coming back!

20$ meals with the portion of an entree, waited 45 mins for the food and 30 in the line to order. They are understaffed and overbooked. The drinks were over priced and quite horrible. Not going back
