Food and service absolutely excellent. Biggest yorkshire pudding I've ever eaten and the belly pork was perfect with on point crackling. The only down side was finding it, if using DLR I'd recommend getting off at Coldharbour

Proper pub. Decent food and fair selection of ales. Really nice, and the previously mentioned issues with slow/inattentive service have been resolved. Too pricey, though, 90 pounds for the two of us, Sunday roast & drinks.

Always a fave. Don't eat often but good for drinks next to river and when the fire is on on a cold day, you're set. About 15 mins walk now from Canary Wharf round Blackwall Basin/Poplar Dock

Friendly local pub, appealing range of drinks, offers a tempting variety of foods. The great views are a bonus!

The venue is lovely full of character and history. Tables overlooking the river. Staff really helpful.

I hate waiting and sometimes here you have to wait too long for your order. All in all the place is decent.

The view in the back is pretty but the service is horrible. We waited around for a long time, even moved to a different section and eventually just got up and left because it was ridiculous.

Excellent food, and reasonably priced given the extremely high quality. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable, great ambience with guns and busts littering the walls.

Delicious captive mendal, a good view of the river, an interesting diko-western interior.

We booked a private room to hold a family birthday party. The food was excellent as was the service. The room overlooked the river (a great view) which entertained the children, looking at the boats and helicopters. They provided a fantastic birthday cake, and the staff worked so hard! Good beer too.

The family were looking for somewhere nearby and different from our usual cuisine and landed here...

Getting here wasn't complicated nor hard due to there being local bus stops not to far away and in between two DLR stations which are slightly further away if there wasn't any other alternatives.

From the outside, it looked like your Joe Bloggs of a pub/restaurant but don't let this sway you from giving it a visit, once inside things change a lot, the interior was on point, everything you'd expect from a local pub but has a slight edge to it.

We went for a family meal, so we wanted to be seated on the terrace which would of been ideal, the view seemed great, if only the weather was slightly better on the day of our visit but we didn't complain and had the window view instead.

The food selection was rather good too, for the adult and kids seeing we didn't expect it to be of that level.

Staff were helpful and very nice, always willing to help if asked.

We'd definitely give it another visit soon enough.

The lamb was underwhelming, but the guinea fowl was excellent. It's quite expensive for a fullers pub, but with attentive staff and good menu it's very almost worth it. Lower the prices a fraction and I'd definitely come again.

A Docklands institution this great traditional pub does not disspoint with a good selection of beer and a pretty awesome sunday roast.

Today I had a Sunday roast and was expecting a very good quality meal.. but very disappointed as potatoes were not fresh.. chewy and Yorkshire pudding very hard. Overpriced for the standard of food served.

But they had nice friendly staff.

Cozy pub, but the Yorkshire pudding was very disappointing. The meat was low quality and the pudding hard to chew.

Food is quite delicious and nice water view in summer time. Vegan food could be arranged if book in advance. A bit disappointed as they couldn t serve apple pie with custard. Price is on the higher end. Otherwise, it s a good place to be.

Really nice food - massive portions but well cooked. The views were also amazing 100% suggest eating by the river instead of the bar.

What we got was a paltry handful of mash, with two bangers, with a bit of green garnish.

Simply unacceptable. My mate and me where done with it in 5 minutes and were still hungry.
Avoid.

Delicious seasonal food, beautiful location, great service. Only complaint is that they don't have any other tonic than Schweppes. I realise how first world problem this is

Went to this restaurant with my family and can honestly say one of the best food experiences I have had for a long time. The quality of the meat was great and the service was very friendly.

Very slow service and very high prices. We ordered two fish and chips.The portions were smaller than a happy meal at McD, to the point that we had to ask for one extra portion of chips. We had no drinks other than tap water. The bill added More

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE of a pub.

The food is some of the most overpriced, tasteless rubbish in London, and the portions are tiny. It's a complete rip off.

I have eaten there before , the food is good (not exceptional), but comparatively pricey, though the service and ambiance compensated for it... This is sadly no longer the case: I booked 2 weeks in advance for a Saturday evening, asking for a table with a river view (which is at the rear, otherwise you are installed in the front of the bar at the street end). They said they will make a note of it. I phoned again on the day (13th July 2019) at lunchtime to make sure the reservation is holding riverside (as we had visitors with us) - and was confronted by a rude supercilious staff member (who also subsequently claimed to be the manager) who said he cannot guarantee a river view table - it is first come first served. I queried i the logical point in making a table reservation at all if it is first come first served - at which point, unable to answer, he became rude and then put the phone down on me. I phoned back and cancelled the useless reservation. Eating at a restaurant should feed the soul, not just the stomach: customers should not be disrespected at any establishment.

Very nice pub with history. It was built after 1700 so it is a really beautiful building. Additionally decorated with fantastic and photos. A large spacious room, another typically fireplace, where sparks dance cheerfully, there is also a room overlooking the Tamize glazed and discovered for lovers of spring onions. Food quite tasty and large portions also eat everyone can be better than worse. A good place for a good dinner, cocktail or beer.

Warm and friendly service - really good food and superb views from the terrace. Looking forward to my next visit !

So far only three... Tricky to get there, and when you're finally there, it's like you hardly get a place to sit down (slightly after lunchtime sat or sun, cant remember)... I mean do we live in the world when walking into pubs is outdated? Booking in pubs always? Seriously? After a good walk you get by getting there, being a bit after lunch to arrive, you're HUNGRY, and guess what? Kitchen is closed, and will reopen only for dinner!!! So annoying and frustrating! What is this management concept at all? It's a pub! Not some Spanish siesta tapas place.... People drink and want foooood! One star for views, another for beers, and another one for potential - I might give it one more chance and then edit my review...

Hi, the advertised closing time on Sunday is midnight. However, when my friend and I went around 10:40 PM we were told the bar would be closing at 11 PM rather than midnight.

The pub itself looks lovely, especially if you go for drinks as the sitting area is by the water offering Thanes views.
We went fir Sunday roast but we were not particularly impressed by the food.
Service was good.

A BIG thank you for our Management dinner last night. Everyone has said to me today how great the food and service was. They loved the River Room with the view and were very impressed with the decoration and name places. None of them had been before and they all gave glowing remarks. The boss was happy with the bill at the end this makes me a happy assistant!

Just had roast here, the bread was from a cheap supermarket (from the none fresh section I assume) the chickens are undercooked and soggy, pigs in the blanket are average at best. Potato s came with exquisite burnt grease flavour. Thank you for ruining roast for me

It is a shame as the location and pub itself are lovely, but it is not dog friendly and staff can be rather unwelcoming. Even though it is our local pub we have been disappointed every time we visit and now tend to avoid. Best off going across the river to greenwich or further up the river to the great eastern.

We booked the River room for dinner after our registrar wedding ceremony and it was like a dream to us; Splendid room, outstanding view, delicious food and very attentive staff. We were very happy with the management as well. Will definitely visit again and recommend to friends and family.

Oh my God what A wonderful pub. Beautiful setting, friendly cheerful staff. The food was delicious. I cannot fault the place. Thank you for making our trip to London feel so special. I wish I could sit outside looking at the Thames with A pint everyday.

Had a roast beef on Sunday and a bottle of wine. The food is excellent, the roast potatoes are up there with the best I've had in London and the Yorkie is perfect. Extra gravy came as standard, which was very much appreciated. The service was a bit of a let down, there seems to be a lot of staff but we waited almost 25 mins to place our order, and about the same just to pay the bill. I'd still go again though, the food is fantastic.

Food, service and location were all perfect! Highly recommended and a fantastic menu.

The food is lovely and the staff friendly, the views are AMAZING, a bit pricey in my opinion.

Recently sold (Spring 2016) so need to see if quality remains

Cool pub on the river away from the bustle of Canary Wharf. Tasty Sunday lunches and decent selection of beers. River views if you can bag a table but gets busy!

Exceptional location, exceptionally good food and brilliant service!

I used to live opposite this pub. The food is amazing and the service is great. I got to know a lot of the staff (even with the high turnover) and everyone was friendly and helpful. Views across the river to the O2 and a lovely gin garden for the summer. The manager was also careful to ensure residents were happy and put on special events. Never really heard loud noises coming out of the pub late either...classy pub with classy people.

My party of five booked our Christmas dinner at the Gun Canary wharf.

The 4 course menu included an Amuse Bouche, a choice of 4 starters including a soup dish a Salmon dish, a Stag and Boar roll and finally a Liver and Onion dish.
The menu also included a choice of 4 main dishes which included Pumpkin Tart, Roast Hake, Traditional Turkey dish and a Lamb dish.
The desserts consisted of a choice of Pumpkin Pie, Apple Tart, Poached Pear and the traditional Christmas Pudding.

On arrival we were greeted by the Gun Team who were very friendly and professional and gave us clear directions on their Covid policy.
We were lead to out table which was well presented and included the traditional Christmas crackers and place settings which included our names as well as our pre ordered choices from the festive menu. This was a good idea and I was happy to see that all our pre orders were correct.
We were served by a very nice, friendly and helpful waitress assigned to.our table. Her service was excellent and she should be commended.
Our dishes and drinks were served in a timely fashion with sufficient time between courses.
The food was very good and we enjoyed an excellent meal and evening.
We ordered a bottle of Gabry Rose Brut from Sicily to accompany our starters followed by two bottles of the Joseph Perrier Brut Cuvee Royal to accompany our mains.
I would certainly recommend both.
The only negative point of the evening was the number of fellow diners moving around without face coverings or facemasks which we found somewhat worrying.
When we did point this out the waiting team did approch the culprits and take action so well done to them.
All in all we had an excellent meal, drinks and evening and the service was first class.
My thanks and appreciation to the whole of the Gun Team who made a good evening an excellent one.
We look forward to visiting again in the near future Covid restrictions permitting.

Nice location and amazing views of the O2 Arena! it has real fireplaces and it's super cozy! the food is really good although a bit pricy

Love this pub, great service and views of the river. Good food and beer. Only downside is it's not cheap, but it's worth every penny.
