Would have been better if they didn't mix a single malt with coke.

One of the best riverside pubs in London, excellent food but a bit pricey, even by Canary Wharf standards
Very nice location ... Food is Ok but not the best!
The little rooms in back and the porch area are nice and cozy. Bar has a very nice selection, but the food is lacking. The cod was lackluster, the steak riddled with grissle but was cooked a perfect medium rare. The prawns were excellent and their chips are quite good. For the price rather disappointing.
Had our Christmas party at the marquee here. Fantastic views and the min spend is reasonable to hire the outside marquee,. Only downside is that because the outside marquee is outside that the music had to be closed of at 2200 and then three marquee edit down say 2300. Good was good although be mindful of the vegetarian bacon sandwiches ( I put this down to an incorrect label). Otherwise much fun had all round
Was recently here with a large group of friends and I wanted to leave a review for a particular member of staff. I believe his name was peter (young man with ginger hair). He was amazing to us all we were all being very picky about everything and he was extremely polite and patient. Thank you so much for your service. Will definitely be coming back here with my family. Also the food is delicious here.
This is a great place - location, drinks, and food options are all excellent. I'm yet to try a Sunday roast, but I've heard good things.
Nice old pub, bit expensive though. Compensated by the excellent views across the river to the O2.
Our team was out there and it was fantastic to be there with that view of O2 plus the river and most importantly their waitresses were too good! Good food and drinks and a must visit if you are in London.
Excellent menu and attentive staff. Great on a nice day our on the deck with views of the Thames and O2.
Thank you very much Prateek for the kind words. Hope to see you back at The Gun soon!
Food was good, service was good and was next to the river with an excellent view of the 02. Would visit again if we were going to the 02
Very good food for a gastro pub. The quiet terrasse offers an amazing view on the Thames.
I visited the Gun 3 times so far, every time, I was in London and it was always a great experience
A bit out in terms of getting there. Lovely atmosphere - good staff - slightly unusual menu. Good food.
Really really bad Sunday roast. Brought some friends here to introduce them to the UK and I was extremely disappointed they had to endure that rubbish.
Cozy English gourmet pub with delicious food and friendly staff. Fireplaces, white tablecloths and a winter garden terrace overlooking the harbour. The sunday roast is top notch. Pictured: the boar and stag sausage roll.
Lots of history, great place for a dinner on the banks of Thames in summer
Unique cozy place off the beaten but in my opinion more of a restaurant than a pub. It's quite popular at weekends so best to book.
Great historical pub on the river. Great food and friendly staff.
The best part about this pub is the outside terrace right by the river. Be prepared to pay a central London prices at this upmarket bar. Sunday roast was expensive, but portion size was decent (except only 2 potatoes) Indoor service was lacking in attentiveness and friendliness. We almost felt like a burden at times. Overall we had a nice time, even better once we moved outside.
Great ale selection and fantastic location overlooking the dome, shame the gastro side of the operation takes up so much space
Nice pub with a couple of traditional English-style private rooms. View over the river. Been there a couple of times and will definitely go back!
Great neighbourhood bar. Cool interior and an open fireplace adds to the experience. Was expecting a more extensive selection of whiskey however.
Love this place, all the furniture and decoration is consistent and I live the military theme.
Always a polite member of staff at the bar and the manager is always around directing the staff - seems like he really cares about his pub. Great stuff
Great place to drink or dine, full of history and fantastic views of the river Thames and O2 etc...
Nice pub. Right on the edge of canary wharf proper and priced accordingly. The beers are good and the food was decent too. Food was over priced tho. Just go to Greenwich instead.
The Gun is a great gastropub. Well worth the short taxi from Canary Wharf.
The gn is already a decent pub with an unpretentious atmosphere but after just having dinner with the wife we're very impressed, this pub deserves a new chef like this.
Great view on the river! Terrible service, mediocre food and expensive!!! We only had to ask 6 times for the menu, 5 times to order, 8 times to get some water 3 times to get a steak knife to replace the butter knives that were offered for the beef roast and all that while the waiters were more than the guests!!
What a hidden gem. COVID had made this a wonderful private dining experience. Open fires, great staff and the Sunday roasts are delicious. Perfect
Excellent customer service
Excellent food
Excellent knowledge of their wines by staff
Excellent wines
Great view over the river
one of the best pubs in the area, together with the grapes. great atmosphere, but can get a bit too crowded
As a beer lover, this is a great pub with fantastic English beers which also serves food
The only proper pub within walking distance of Canary Wharf.
Great food. Brilliant views. Cosy and warm atmosphere. Excellent staff. Would highly recommended a visit, you will not be disappointed.
Nice place, friendly staff, good place. The only thing which kills it is their management. Very rude. And it is sad. Otherwise very nice place.
Excellent food and drinks, great ambiance. The service was just ok and quite slow.
Great food, great service, more sit down than pub but overall very solid
Gastro pub with white linen tablecloths and nice food. I prefer it as a pub, with outdoor part and fire, but unfortunately that is not enough anymore. Staff wait tables, leaving 1 barman to make drinks for tables and serve pub. Makes busy periods frustrating.
Sunday roast is great albeit on the expensive side. Good views of the O2.
Really good Sunday lunch with a substantial portion of meat which can often be lacking at other restaurants. Only downside was the cold cauliflower cheese side.
The wine list was a little too long and we would have wished there was more expertise when the bottle we ordered was out of stock for staff to suggest an alternative.
Service was ok - nothing special.
Ambience had a great buzz but it did get a bit loud at times which made it hard to have a conversation but there was a group there at the time.
Overall, it was a great gastropub with great food.
If you arrive any time from 4pm at the weekend the roast dinners start running out. The waiter had to come back to us THREE times to tell us the item we'd ordered was no longer available. Each time he did so with humour which by the third time was misplaced! And each time returning without our drinks order or any bread or such by way of an apology and to fill the delay. The manager even came out to apologize, as he did with more and more customers as the evening went on, again without any offer to allay our hunger or our drinks which we'd ordered quite some time ago now.
The waiter even suggested, as we love local, his tip was to come down before 4pm as the roasts always start to run out then. The kitchen is open to 7pm! So why they haven't addressed this short coming I do not know.
Finally when we got our food it was presented ok but very salty, by the end of the meal I was gasping for water.
It has been always great when I visited this place. Staff is friendly and the view is amazing.
Very pleasant meal and service. Great ambience and staff very good
Good steak and oyster place. Very expensive, but targeted at business meetings. Very rich history and ask the waiters for stories about Admiral Nelson
Historic old pub, real ales and a garden terrace on the water's edge, difficult to find fault. It also makes a great change from all the "cutting edge" offerings nearby. If you fancy a traditional pub with good food and great views, you will not go far wrong at the Gun.
It's certainly one of the best pubs I've been to in London.
Excellent selection of drinks and food, with friendly staff and the most magnificent view of the river Thames and the O2 Arena. The beer garden is quite spacious with wooden tables and chairs, and it also offers a couple of ping-pong tables.
I loved this place :)
Beautiful spot just off the river, large terrace and fire place to warm you up.
I've been here a few times for the quiz and came back last night for their last-ever quiz. The drinks are ok, the prices are a bit more expensive than most places and the food is quite nice. However, the table service is a bit hit or miss; it's brilliant when they're at the table, taking your order, but try to get a server's attention and it's a nightmare! Otherwise, it's a cosy pub with a good atmosphere. Perfect for a couple drinks with friends if you're in the area.
In love with the view!
Every day is a good day to visit this place!
Great location on Thames, history behind. Food with room for improvement
Smart 'Gastropub' with some good menu options. Everyone in our work party really enjoyed the place. Good views out over the river.
Very nice pub in London, good for watching sports and experiencing the local atmosphere. Recommended.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, food was good, some strange flavor combinations but overall impressive.
Busy pub, good food but pricey, great view of the O2 building and historically linked with Lord Nelson and pirates
Overcharging on a tap. Billed 5 drinks extra. A bit of scam:(
Absolutely not recommended for Sunday roast.
One star more, only for the nice view and the good service.
Stopped in for a Sunday drink in the garden. Wonderful ambiance and good view of the river. The COVID measures in place were very clear and followed by everyone we saw. And tasty drinks too!
Edit: We went inside for a meal and I ordered the schnitzel. I found several small, living caterpillars in the greens. They did take it off the bill and replace the food, but it is never good to find living bugs in the food.
Very welcoming, found us a table on the terrace overlooking the river. Excellent, will visit again.
The general manager, J.P. was excellent, making us very welcomed and relaxed. Our waiting staff, Angel, was very friendly and attentive. Our food arrived so timely that Rolex would be jealous. I had the lamb which was cooked perfectly. My niece had the stone bass on giant couse couse was gastronomic poetry. The puddings hit the spot and the cocktails was the perfect finale. Highly recommended a visit or three, or four.
Bravo to everyone at The Gun.
Been here already few times and I can say in overall that the place is fantastic. Decoration is really nice and I like how there are combined few things in one place. There's an outside part for the summer, inside part divided into a restaurant and bar parts. Its perfect to gather here with friends or family and have a nice dinner or just hangout on the bar with a drink. Prices are a bit more than the average, but that understandable. Service is nice, staff are polite and welcoming.
Incredible food. Lovely view. Always good for a special occasion.
Best place to drink in Canary wharf. Lovely old local pub tucked away in a residential area. Food is very good as well.
Absolutely perfect! A little bit hidden, but it serves the best sunday roast I have ever eaten... deliciously good!!!
Amazing place and well worth a visit for the Sunday roast.
Nice pub with a good view of the o2 dome
Food is I bit on the pricey side foe what you get but overall a nice place to go for a pub lunch
Warm and cosy Gastro Pub with an amazing view of the O2.
