I've yet to find a better gastropub.
Beautiful old building with chesterfield sofas/armchairs by a real log fire.
Overlooking the Thames & Millenium Dome.
Great food and drinks (craft beers, wines).
A little pricey, but worth it.

What a lovely pub this is. Went for a Sunday roast which was beautiful. Not the cheapest in town but beautifully prepared and served by very polite and attentive staff. The pub itself is steeped in history and its location on the river is lovely. If you can, sit in the conservatory area and watch river and all that offers go by. Will definitely be back probably in the summer when I guess the conservatory opens up for alfresco dining. Lovely.

This is a quiet little gem, while it is a tiny bit expensive for my tastes, I enjoyed evything on offer. The pints (including an offering from the award winning Curios brewing co) were all good as was my snack/starter of whitebait.

there is a great view of the Dome, and the River, and i can see this being a lovely place to kill time on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

Having lived locally for seven years I know it well and I think The Gun really is a great pub. The staff are friendly and it's a beautiful building in a great riverside location. Food wise I'd give it 5 out of 5 every time.

Fantastic to see their own brewery, Long Arm, on draught there now. They do need a decent lager though, which they had with Unfiltered Camden Hells until recently . Now the options are Heineken or Amstel .

Very nice. Cozy. Great view. That one or the other is not perfectly clean could give a star deduction ..... but the atmosphere, the friendliness and the quality make up for it. After all, we didn't want to go to the Ritz.

Visited recently for a quick pint. The barman was inhospitable and more interested in conversation with other customers so forgot the basics like please and thank you. Very expensive for both food and drink. Only good thing about this place was the riverside terrace. Won't be returning.

Best pub food ever in London. Unique combination of food with starters and mains. Decent wine selection. Water view is stunning, if you get a chance to sit by the water on a nice spring day, it is worth the price.

Cute little pub and restaurant hidden away in the docklands. Has fantastic views of the Thames and O2. Good selection of drinks and bar food, along with great function spaces. I've not eaten in the restaurant but the menu looks amazing.
The Gun is a beautiful period venue with great decor and wood fired. Definitely go!

Decor is amazing, drinks selection is great but slightly pricey. What disappointed me was the food, service was very poor took ages to get even water.
The roast beef was tough and full of grissel, the knife provide made it impossible to cut the meat. When asked I said the meat is quite tough, they said it's like that...

They provided 3 roast potatoes, a tiny amount of cauliflower and cheese. The gravy was delicious if they didn't provide a shot glass amount of it I asked three times for more for all six of us... And when it came to clearing up the plates it was so slow.

The deserts were so so the brownie dry and the high point was the mince pie ice cream was nice but small portions again.

All my friends were so disappointed they never mention when service is included in the bill, but they said should we even pay this. I said it is Christmas. Go for drinks but give food a miss.

An infectiously warm atmosphere, a delightfully rich selection of starters, mains, and desserts that are perfect for any locals looking to show friends from overseas the merits of "English cuisine". Wines and other drinks of a superb variety as well, dessert Ports included. 5/5.

Thank you so much for making us feel welcome after travelling from Coventry for Sarah and Tom's wedding reception recently and after a 4 hour drive you made us tea and coffee which was very welcome. We enjoyed a brilliant evening to celebrate our daughters wedding to Tom and due to your efforts it was a tremendous success and we had a fabulous time and the day was made special by all of your hard working staff who couldn't do enough for us. Thank you again. Peter and Carole Fielding

Hidden gem in East London with amazing view of the Thames and O2. During the winter you can sit next to the fireplace and drink mulled wine to warm up your body. The place is a bit on the expensive side but worth a try!

We tried the Sunday roast which is really massive and that's ok given the price but I didn't think the taste was that good - parts of the chicken were not properly cooked. Service was great tho!

Amazing view to the river and staff service 5* always on point! They have big selection of cocktails and generous portions of the food.

We had a great Sunday roast. The bartenders Ivo&Kacper were making great drinks and giving best recommendations on food. Thank you and looking forward to come back!

Love this pub! Great local pub food but also a gastropub menu that is pretty refined. Right next to the river with a view of the O2 right across the water, this place has a very authentic vibe (been there for almost 250 years!) while offering high quality food and drink. Highly recommend for a work or family meal.

Extremely salty food...lazy service (including forgetting parts of the order)...and to top it all off they charged us for an extra bottle of wine, which we didn't even order! The only saving grace is the riverside view, and there are far more stunning views elsewhere in London.

I never normally write reviews but we were rudely treated when we brought the receipt issue up with the staff that I couldn't not write one.
HIGHLY DO NOT recommend!

If I could give -1 star I would. Just the worst place ever. Been told from the start we have to leave by certain time. Waitresses (yes, that s plural) cannot speak a word of English. Roast potatoes reheated, Yorkshire pudding reheated and burnt, red cabbage microwaved and soggy and don t get me started on roast beef. The worst experience ever! Not once anyone asked us about the food or whether we re happy with it or the service. Nobody asked about needing more drinks and we are still here waiting for our bill.

Lovely

The patio view was nice, the food was underseasoned and uninspired. I went at an off time (~4 on a Saturday) so it's a bit on me, but I feel it needs a bit of oomph, if I'm honest. I had the cod, which was wrapped in pancetta and served with a side of broccolini and rice. The pancetta was limp and would have been enhanced by a hard sear. The side was saved by some vibrant basil sprigs but could have been so much more. Salt and pepper helped the whole experience go more smoothly

Nice location but not spectacular. Also value for money isn t that great in terms of the quality of product and service you get in return. Been to far better places in and around the area.
