The Grove rocks. In any of their location the best aspect is their customer service. Employees are always asking how you are, if you need anything, ready with a smile. The food is good and wine decent. Love they have magazines available to read and I was offered strawberries on my salad today with no charge because they wanted to see if it would be popular guests. Great way to test menu additions!

So, this place is wonderful. I love the Spinach Omelet. I like the setup, you stand in line to order (that varies of course as far as length and time), while in line figure out what you want, then order, they give you a number and you take it to your table (inside or outside). Once the food is ready, they deliver it - I have not been let down yet!

Good food, beer, wine and service. Most enjoyable. And I now know a lot more about the jurisdictional differences between the San Francisco Police Department and County Sherrif's office.

Everything here is delicious! Brought the GF out for her birthday with a few friends. Went upstairs to get some drinks while we waited for out table. The Tavern Sour and the Yerba Buena are killer. For diner we had the burger with the egg and their famous fried chicken! Amazing!!

Nice, casual place for dinner. Order at counter, find a table, and they deliver food. I had a lovely Cobb salad with chicken on top. Perfect amount of food (delicious toast on the side.) We arrived around 5:30 before the Symphony when it was not crowded. By 6:45, it was a bustling place.

The upsides: the food is decent. Good not great. Clean might be the best word for it. It's well-located near some important cultural and civic institutions. For Hayes Valley, it's probably a good deal for the price. Once you order, the food is relatively quick to come out to you. The menu is big and there are lots of options for diners. The nearby alternatives are excellent venues but pretty expensive and multi-course affairs.

The downsides: it makes me frazzled to be there. The music is loud, and the customers are louder. If even 2 or 3 of the nearby SF Symphony, SF Opera, SF Jazz Center, or the Nourse Theatre are running shows that night, it can be a long wait in a line out the door, and a nightmare to find anywere to sit comfortably enough to eat the food you paid for.

I've visited The Grove-Hayes twice before attending the SF Symphony and have nothing but positive things to say about the location, staff and food.

I'm a wheelchair user and if you don't have experience in this world you should know accessibility is an issue I deal with everywhere I go. The Grove staff have gone above and beyond both times I visited in making sure I have a table to sit at. My first visit, the host sat me at a table as soon as I came in the door. He then sent a server over to take my order so I wouldn't have to sit in line.

My second visit, I made my way in and got in line to order my food. Before I made my order a staff member let me know they have a table ready for me and would show me to it as soon as I ordered.

Now, this may not seem like a big deal but it truly is. Most restaurants with this style of ordering and finding your own seats are extremely hard for me to find a table that isn't too tall or easily accessible within the restaurant. Life is already difficult enough living with a disability so customer service like this is truly appreciated.

I just want to thank the staff for taking the extra steps to ensure a positive customer experience. Y'all treat me better than my own family. Thank you!

Oh, and the food is delicious and very affordable.

The decor here is great, it feels like you're dining in a casual lodge. The food is great too, everything I tried was delicious - and everything is made from scratch with fantastic local ingredients. Try it out!

The food here is always amazing. I went here recently for brunch on a Saturday morning. They were pretty packed, and I felt like the waiters forgot about us -- my buddy's breakfast sandwich didn't even come with all of it's standard ingredients. But I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt because it was weekend brunch time and because the food is consistently delicious. So they still they still get 5 stars from me!

One of the few casual restaurants around this area that is open late (past 8pm), and offers an array of Sight Glass coffee drinks and American comfort foods.

I had avocado toast and an almond dirty chai--both of which were on par with what you would expect. We also had the California hot dog--a hot dog prepared with jalapenos and cotija cheese. It is tasty and unique, but it's pretty salty with the addition of a pickle, so would choose a side salad instead of chips next time.

I went to this location and was trying to find a low carb option. I asked the cashier (I think he was a store manager as well, but I'm not certain) if the meatballs were low carb and he said "What do you mean?" and I said "Do they have a lot of breadcrumbs?" and he was like "Oh for a second I thought you asked if they had carbs in them?" - in a very mocking way... then said, "Of course they have bread crumbs, how else would they stay together?" ... as I scrambled to figure out some other option he was very impatient and condescending. I typically always tip, even when there's a reason not to because I know this city is very expensive, but after the way he treated me I couldn't bring myself to do it. He was just a jerk.

Great food at unusually good prices. Especially their avocado toast - it's under $6 and is HUGE - there's probably a whole avocado in there. Super laid back friendly atmosphere that will make you want to come back again with a crowd. My org comes here every Sunday evening and holes up in a couple of tables with drinks.

Approximately everything I've had here has been amazing and fresh. The chicken pot pie, the Tuna sandwich, Turkey Sandwich, and fresh squeezed orange juice have been delicious.

The service is fast even when its busy, it literally feels like you're at ski lounge or something. It's an awesome place to get food, relatively pricey but you taste the quality.

I've been here once before but on this particular occasion I had ordered the tomato soup and when the guy brought it out along with my girlfriends food the soup was ice cold. When I brought it back up to the counter the guy I talked to just gave me attitude and acted like he could care less. Step your game up!

Low-key and dependable community house. Large tables to spread out or convene with comrades. The chicken pie is a crunchy celestial crown incubating a piping hot creamy retreat of fresh veggies and roasted hen. Highly recommended. Don't forget room for handmade pies! Wine and beer... so European!

One of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch or casual dinner. It's a great location if you're going to see a performance at the Symphony or SF Opera. My only complaint is that the Mexican dishes at this place aren't that great (lacking flavor and the tortilla chips were a little stale). However, the mac and cheese, chocolate chip cookies, and salads are quite yummy.

Nice Ambience, friendly, better place if your younger, I am A mature adult and found the order-taker to be a bit in a hurry and spoke fast, and there was no one in line behind me!
I ordered the hot pastrami Sandwich and it was room temperature, the meat was thick, grissley, tough and uninspiring taste-wise, the bread was so hard I thought it would break my teeth, my date ordered the Ruben and had the same experience and couldn't eat it as a sandwich, she had to ask for a Sharp knife just to cut the meat and bread. the salad and pickle were okay the mustard was uninspiring, have no idea about the how the other menu items would be and probably will never find out , but if you're young and looking for a hiper place and not concerned about the food check it out

This was my first time to bowl'd acai but my coworker and I had the same opinion.

The pros: great looking truck- the look and feel and people are nice and friendly, the price is good for an acai bowl (people on yelp complaining about price must not know the industry standard.)

The Cons: the only con was the taste (which is obviously a big con) the toppings were great, but the actual smoothie was bland and icy tasting, not fruity tasting like it should be.

I love smoothie bowls and this was not the best one, I would not return here because it just didn't hit the spot like a good smoothie bowl should. I am still left craving a good smoothie bowl for when I am in San Francisco. *Sigh*

Delicious, the chefs here really know what they re doing. You always know if your somewhere good by the vinaigrette a restaurant serves, and theirs was fantastic, made from scratch I d imagine.

There is something for everyone here I d imagine, it s the kind of menu that has me wondering what to do because there are so many things that I want and it s hard to pick just a few things. I can personally vouch for the chicken pot pie and the gourmet style macaroni and cheese with gruyere I think it was.. And all of the salads are amazing. Healthy and generous are also some words that come to mind when speaking on their salads. Gp

The staff was very nice when I went there to pick up an order. I needed to order a couple extra side salads and he ended up giving them to us on the house, super nice. Turned out we didn t even need them because our meals came with side salads too, the menu just didn t tell us that was the case. So we had extra side salads which is never a bad thing when they re from The Grove- They didn t last long. I even kept the left over salad dressing in the fridge to eat later because it would be a crime to throw away anything that delicious.

Every time I walk in someone thinks I work there. I think it's weird that a casual place like this has snooty customers. The atmosphere is nice, and the prices are okay for the neighborhood. It's just hard to sit down and relax when people keep asking me for menus.

Reliable and good food quality for the price. Note that this is a counter service place and not sit down service. Two of my favorite items are tomato basil soup and the ginger spritzer!

I came to this place before the opera, and ordered a chicken pot pie. The pot pie came out piping hot and delicious, with large chunks of chicken meat. The only complaint that I have is that the pot pie was slightly too salty.

Great cafe with friendly service. The pastrami sandwich was excellent, meat was done right. French toast was fluffy and delicious. The chicken pot pie looked better than it tasted, the spices inside were weird. Loved the casual vibe of this place, you can linger for hours.

Order at the counter, take a number, find a seat and the good stuff gets brought to you. Drinks are served at the counter so don't forget it. Getting coffee, make it taste better right across from where you ordered. Staff are pretty nice and attentive. It does get pretty loud inside. Seating available outside.

It seems like the kind of place that might be too popular for its size and therefore hard to get a seat at some hours, but its popularity is deserved, and I've been very satisfied with the food the few times I have been there.

The restaurant's decor is a wonderful melange of seating styles & old rock & roll posters & attractive but tiny wooden tables jam-packed into every conceivable space. The first time we visited I had some blue cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon that were sublime! Unfortunately since then that has been taken off the menu. I would have to say at this point that the food is good and fresh but not incredible. Pick your time to visit carefully, as the place can be so packed it's hard to find a seat.

Each time I come up to the Opera or Symphony I tend to stop here usu ally for their unusually incredible hot pastrami sandwich, thick, moist, scruptious pieces of pastrami on real rye toast...takes me back to Jewish deli's in Chicago. More

I love The Grove and I'm over 60yo. $8.50 for a giant draft beer, we love the bacon wrapped dates. I just had the lime, chicken, tortilla soup that was the best, the right blast of lime and obviously scratch made.

We've always been able to get a table even though we are always there about 7pm on a Friday. I like the rustic metal and worn wood in the spacious room.

Great place to eat alone...or witb others. Umlimited coffee refills, have a drink and snacks with friends, eat a tasty meal before a concert. I obviously enjoy this place, hope you do too!
