We love the burgers and the truffle fries are to die for! Great fish & chips, tacos and beer choices. I gave only 4 stars because I got a takeout taco salad and it was not as pictured on Facebook or the website and was pretty flavorless and unexciting. But they are a pub, so really I'll stick to the pub fare they do well. We have done take-out almost every week through the Covid crisis and mostly been happy. The staff is fabulous, always friendly and fast.

I unfortunately was not impressed. Maybe an off night, but the food wasn't any good. The wings (ordered well done) were mushy and unappetizing. I got a salad with chicken and there were a couple tiny cubes of chicken. I took maybe three bites and wasn't even asked if there was anything wrong.

Atmosphere is small and loud.

I wouldn't go back. There are too many options to go back to a place I didn't enjoy.

Tried the publick house for the first time with my wife. The steak tips and fries were really good, probably some of the best Ive had in a while. The burger was definitely decent too. A little too greasy for me though. We also got a couple mixed drinks. The mule was VERY strong. Strong enough that I drank a quarter of it and decided since I was driving I shouldnt drink anymore of it. The rumaway drink was okay, also a little strong. And it also separated within 30 seconds of arriving on the table. The wait staff was very polite, but definitely very new. It was especially evident when they couldn't pronounce 3/4 of the words on their specials menu. The waitress needs to work on being a little less blunt. All in all, definitely wasnt a horrible experience and we will be back again

Joe and Chris (owner and Executive Chef) were phenomenal with our tasting g for GPH's catering. These guys are experts and can cook! From Scallop Carbonara to truffle fries and steak tenderloin sliders, they know how to make your jaw drop. Very accommodating and a pleasure to workwith! I recommend 100%!

Small place with good beers on tap and a menu a step above what you find at most pubs/grills. Someone really cares about the food in the kitchen. Has an outdoor patio that's great during the warm weather.

New menu is too simple, too pricy.

New menu is too simple, too pricy.

Haven t been in 6 months, menu is now standard pub fare, yet prices are approaching those of Gibbit Hill.

Don t get me wrong, food was fine, as was the service - I just think menu had no bright interesting apps or entrees (like the great road house does) and prices are too high for what menu actually delivers.

We feel so lucky to have Groton Publick House right around the corner. You can tell these guys love what they do. Chef Joe's menu offers creative twists on classic comfort food, and Dave runs a mean bar and beer program. The pasta specials feature fresh, house-made pasta and have been excellent. Draught beer list is thoughtfully curated with New England brews. Very impressed guys; keep it comin'.

Ordered to go for the first time tonight. We were tired and just didn't want to cook on a Friday night. We ordered 2 burgers and pretzel appetizer. The burgers were good, although cold, but none of the special instructions were followed. We added special instructions for BOTH burgers that were "garlic fries", we did not get garlic fries. And even though the "pretzel" appetizer was to come with "house cheddar ale sauce" on their online menu, we still requested it because this "toast alert" menu didn't specifically say it. We got pretzels with NO SAUCE AT ALL. Garlic pretzels. None of the special instructions were followed. I guess if you're going to order from this place, I'd try calling them directly vs. ordering from the online app. I would try them again, MAYBE, if I called them direct. We paid $40 for 2 burgers with fries, and the pretzel app. Would gladly pay that for a good product. This was not it.
