Amazing outdoor view and beautiful restaurant! But, the food was par at best, nothing exciting. However, the onion rings were the only highlight. The food prices were consistent with most restaurants, but isn't memorable in the way that I'll be returning for more. The blended margarita had a good taste, but was basically virgin, definitely not worth the cost. All in all, a great "one-time" place to visit and eat at.

Disappointed with the seating. Called ahead to check seating time. When we got here, it was 1/2 times as long and still have been seated. God knows when that will be The entire front end is vacant with no one seating upstairs as well. I was told 15 min but later checked and they said 55. Could have misheard possibly. Disappointed none the less. If they don't have wait staff, let the customers know. Be honest! There are quite a few people at the front entrance. I guess they aren't waiters. How about cross-training. This has been a joke. Asked girl about how much longer and she's blew me off. I was polite but oh well. I guess I should have been rude and demanding.like everyone else in this trouble world.

Crappy food. Terrible management. Average service. BUT the hostess crew are fun and friendly. Once your last that team, and seated, it's all downhill.
Managers are not leaders or trainers. One fella in particular, simply cranky.
Food isn't worth the pay.
The view and ambiance is stellar.
You can go to the river for free and get a comparable view.

The food was decent. They mixed up our drinks and charged us extra per drink for fixing it. So basically we paid for their screw up. We ordered a chicken dish and they failed to let us know there was an upcharge for picking a different side other than fries. I'll never be eating there again.

After an aperitif in the lively courtyard of live music, we ate outside on the high terrace, overlooking the stream under a bright sun! The place is full of charm and the service was top.
The onions rings to share are delicious and the salads too.

You really only go to this place for the experience. A lot of families & large groups, which works out perfect because you're going to spend a long time together. The wait is always insane & the place is always packed. Luckily it's huge. The food is good & a lot to choose from, but after an hour long wait, you're just ready to eat anything. Service is always friendly & there are activities while you wait like music & yes, the area is beautiful. I agree you should experience this restaurant the same way I think everyone should experience Mardi Gras.

Atmosphere was nice. Service was ok. We were able to walk right in during the late afternoon. So, we didn't have to deal with a wait. That was the only saving grace.

The food was beyond disappointing. Onion rings were huge and weighed down in a few pounds of batter. They give you 3 sauces to douse them in. And, I think was the highlight of the meal. We ordered a steak and chicken dish, both of which had NO flavor. It was as if they just pulled out a chicken breast and a steak from the cooler and threw them on a flat top, before plopping them on our plates. Sides and salad were nothing special. It may be safer to go with a burger. But I'd stay away from anything you don't expect to cover in some sort of sauce. No flavor. Overpriced.

First and last time.

Old mill converted into a restaurant. Still has original architecture. Food is excellent and well portioned. Price is average but worth what you get. This is a must visit when in Greene.

Casual restaurant located right by the iconic Gruene water tower. It is packed with a wait around noon on Sundays. We gone with family one two different Sundays around noon and there was only a short wait to be seated due to how large this place is. Drinks and food arrived shortly after ordering and were exactly what we ordered. The food was fresh and good. Service was average. Nothing bad, they were available when needed and we were served quickly. Under $30 for a good lunch for two.

Lots of outdoor seating!
We have hat the Texas size onion rings. They would be even better with queso.
The Ribs and chicken fried steak were great!
