We stayed for 2 nights with a group friends for a birthday weekend. Hotel and rooms are very stylish and comfortable, free WiFi all over which is handy. The hotel staff were polite and helpful. It is slap bang in the middle of the city centre, which made it ideal for exploring Dublin. And only a 15min (20 euros) taxi ride from the airport. Unfortunately they charged us twice for our room, which was a bit annoying, but we should get our money back soon (hopefully).

Stayed after our wedding. Despite some of our guests having booking confirmation for a lower amount they charged more at check out because they were part of our party. We booked 17 rooms and were told that we were given a special reduced rate but the rooms were in fact cheaper to book online. When we complained we were told the hotel was full and we were lucky to be there but on the day rooms were available online for 40% of what they made us pay. The rooms were tiny.

The staff were very unhelpful and really seemed to struggle to cope with small requests or understand what was going on. Numerous calls and emails were required to deal with very simple things.

They refused to let us check-in before 3pm and leave our luggage but our wedding was at 3pm, (we emailed and telephoned well in advance to ask for help with this) but got none, they agreed to take guests bags but on the day guests were told to come back to check in after the wedding in the early hours of the morning, BUT then security refused to let some of our guests into the hotel that night because they were not checked in guests! The best man was left alone on O'Connell st for 30mins in the cold being told he was not a guest and had to produce 2 forms of ID before they would admit their mistake and let him in.

Very embarrassing situation to be put in at your wedding, especially with retired relatives who had travelled up from the country and who felt the hotel simply took advantage of them.

Despite all these issues at no point whatsoever did a staff member ever actually help, or even apologise. We left very disappointed and upset.

Great for meeting friends. Toddys staff so helpful. Decent food and service. 3 stars because the disabled toilet is a long way and lift ride from the venue. No ramp access, have to go through the hotel and heavy double doors through the rear to access Toddys

Was there for a meeting tea and coffee were provided but what annoys me is WHY WHY WHY can't they make sure that 2 flask for tea and the other 2 for coffee. How hard is it to put a sticker on them saying tea / coffee and that way it is fit for consumption. There is nothing worse then getting a cup of slop. For such a " prestigious Hotel" and I use the phrase lightly it's very disappointing. So if you have to go to a meeting in hotel Riu Plaza The Gresham bring your own tea bag or coffee and just ask for hot water.

Really liked the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and well presented. It is well located and within easy walking to many attractions, including the Temple Bar district. The hotel staff check everyone coming in the hotel in the evening, and provide a certain feeling of safety. It is used by the airlines, so you know it has good security and is fairly quiet a night. I was out at some odd hours (can you say jetlag) and did not feel unsafe on the streets around the hotel.

Stayed here last week we went to see shania rwaine. We stayed in a queen room a little more expensive but we'll worth it for the lovely room. The rooms have tea and coffee facilities whice is lovely wen u get back from a days sboping. It was also equipped wit a fridge which is so handy. The breakfast was really nice it's a buffet type wit a great verity. We had a even g meal it was so nice wit a lot of different dishes s to choose from. The hotel is very central to all the shops for all u ladies to treat ur selves. Last but no least the staff r so nice and very helpful wit their knowledge of the sites places to visit.

Great location, right on the main street and close to some lively areas. Breakfast was a big spread and pretty good. However, the hotel is old and creaking, the room I received was a twin room with single beds despite booking a king bed, the bathroom had some toiletries caps on the floor so not cleaned properly, the shower wouldn't change temperature, building works inside currently resulting in noise and checkin took forever. As the hotel was full, they couldn't change my room. Unfortunate.

A very solid business hotel. Rooms are large (enough to work in) and broadly well equipped by UK+Ireland (not US) standards - eg instant tea + coffee making and in room safe. WiFi is free and bandwidth adequate. Room furniture is ample and modern but feels like it needs a bit of a refresh. The public areas and bars are smart and have a little bit of a feel of the olden times. Location is excellent - just a few minutes walk north of the Liffey and almost opposite the history post office.

Now this is a HOTEL.

Now this is a HOTEL.
Stay here and you will be treated like a king. Fantastic staff. On the ball management. A building doesent make a HOTEL it's employees do.
The UK could learn a lot from quality Irish hoteliers

simply impeccable. the room is large, clean, well furnished, bright, equipped with everything you need. at the exit there are several bus stops for the airport, sightseeing tours with citysightseeing and tours to nearby cities (Glendalow, Wicklow Mountains, Kilkenny etc.). Highly recommended !!!

Average hotel in City centre.

Average hotel in City centre.
Hotel is slightly dated but main reception has been done up to a high modern standard. Parking a car here in the car park is both dangerous and difficult.

Rooms are relatively clean and seemed spacious.
Value for money wasn't great but it is ideal for tourists based in City centre located to all transport networks of train metro and bus.

A great location, but otherwise not recommended. The staff are self-employed and the rooms worn. We were upgraded, which meant: 3 beds in our booked double room. Bathroom impossible. The toilet lid always fell in the back. Showers in the tub and the shower process sticks n you. Breakfast not enjoyable.

The stay has not been great. I expected more for the price. The room we stayed in is very dated and the temperature control isn t so great. The bed is uncomfortable and the decorative pillow is more comfortable than the bed pillows. The staff s help is really good or really bad. I would recommend looking at other hotels before booking this one.

Open brown bread sandwich with shrimps (and lots of then) chips and wee bit of salad (could have done with a decent portion of salad) great value for a lovely hotel as the Gresham. Cost 12. Wine delicious and reasonably priced.

Normal rooms, could be better preserved or more modern (something lacking in light). Breakfast buffet correct. The best: the excellent and central location. The staff at the establishment very attentive.

Really nice hotel in a not so nice part of town at night. I had a room on the 6th floor. However, to get there I had to go up to the fifth floor, walk down the hall, walk up a flight of stairs with my luggage, and down two corridors. Almost as if the room was an afterthought or added on and there was no easy way to get there. That was really my only beef with the hotel. it's strange, because one of the elevators went to the sixth floor, but it was only allowed for personnel.

From first to last my overall experience was one of great Care and manners from all the staff, made me feel my stay and comfort was there first concern. Even when I had to call back after checking out as I'd left important things in a drawer, they'd been found and we're brought to me asap. Can't thank them enough. Great bed also!

Super hotel. Super expensive. Very convenient for visitors to the city center as it's bang in the middle of town. I'd sometimes use the car park behind it just off cathal Brugha st. You have to get to it by passing the front of the hotel, take the next left at burger king and left again down the laneway.. it's not as expensive as you might think. 2.80 a hr is pretty standard..staff in the hotel couldn't be more polite and friendly.they get the odd request wrong but nobody's perfect. Sometimes they have a fella inside the door at the lobby asking you "can I help you" the second you walk in the door as if you suggest riff raff like you shouldn't be in an establishment like this. That's a personal perception though. Different people could take it up differently. This hotel is on o connel st (sackville st as it was known back then) longer that the 1916 rising, 100 yrs before it in fact. Was established in 1817.
