Our large family was in Ireland for holiday and were staying at a delightful Air BnB. My son-in-law needed a quiet place with good internet to get some work done so got a room here. After he was done working, we all met up with him here. It's a lovely hotel. The room was well appointed, clean and quiet. We had lunch at the restaurant. The food was very good and the service was exemplary. The hotel's location is perfect for sightseeing in Dublin. We caught a tour bus right in front of the hotel to see the sights then finished the day window shopping.

It was lovely stay at this hotel. Staff was polite and helpful. A room and a bathroom were clean. Few minuses shower tab was hard to turn, water in a room didn't taste fresh. View wasn't great either.
Kind of average. 3*

Excellent location with easy access to Luas. Entrance and lobby is beautiful with much old charm retained. Bedrooms were basic but clean and spacious given the fact it is a city centre hotel. Breakfast was the best I've had in a long time!

Great hotel in a central location.

Great hotel in a central location.
Nevertheless, a quiet atmosphere without any noise pollution.
Well-kept rooms and attentive staff.
I would book again anytime!

The service in the resturant was not good on Sunday night. Waited too long for dinner and far too long for the bill. We asked twice for the bill . Needed to get taxi to see our show due to the poor service. Otherwise a lovely stay and food very good.

THIS HOTEL IN O CONNELL ST. RANKS AS HIGH AND HIGHER THAN MANY EUROPEAN COUNTERPARS ATTENTION TO THE VISITOR US PARAMOUNT TO THE STAFF. THE MEN ON DUTY TODAY BETWEEN 11 30 AND 1330 WERE DOING A JOB WITH GRAT ATTENTIVENESS. THE MINUTE THEY NOTICED A PERSON ALIGHT THE STEPS WITH A SUITCASE/S THEY WHISKED LUGGAGE AWAY AND ANSWERED THEIR CUSTOMERS QUERIES . WHILE WAITING IN THE WRITERS LOBBY I FIRST ORDERED A COFFEE FROM A YOUNG WAITRESS AND GOT IT VERY QUICKLY.. I HAD NOT BEEN IN THE GRESHAM SINCE ITS TOTAL REVAMP AND WAS STUNNED AT THE DECOR .ELEGANT SUMPTUOUS ARTFUL. JUST BLOODY GORGEOUS. I LIKE TO PEOPLE AND WAS PLEASED TO SEE THAT THE CLIENTELE WAS A GOOD MIXED BUNCH IN AGES , IRISH AND VISITORS . OF COURSE THE AMERICANS APPEARED TO BE IN THE LEAD TODAY ANYWAY. SO, I STARTED WITH COFFEE FROM A VERY PLEASANT WAITRESS HOWEVER LATER WHEN MY FRIEND ARRIVED WE EACH CHOSE A COCKTAIL FROM THE IMPRESSIVE MENU THE PRICE FOR THESE DRINKS WAS 12 95. THIS I'S A GOOD PRICE FOR A HOTEL VENUE. I HAVE PAID AS MUCH AND MORE IN FAR LESS. PLEASING SURROUNDINGS. FOR ALL ITS SOPHISTICATION DECOR WISE THE NEW GRESHAM STILL HAS A HOMELY VIBE.. STRANGERS STILL CCONVERSE IN THE LOBBY. I WOULD RECOMMEND A VISIT TO THIS OASIS IN THE CENTRE OF DUBLINS O CONNELL STREET AVE THE RAVE.

When checking out, they had lost record of my check in, and didn't believe I had paid in advance until they looked at CCTV footage at my insistence.
No token of apology was offered to me, in light of my delay.
I know they are installing new systems and renovating, but discommoding a guest is inexcusable.

Aesthetically the building seems of a more refined...

Aesthetically the building seems of a more refined ilk, but it should only take one evening to see that this is just an average hotel. When we arrived and parked in the garage, we had to wander around and find the parking attendant because YOU CAN'T GET TO THE HOTEL FROM THE PARKING GARAGE UNLESS YOU HAVE A ROOM KEY. Which means when checking in, you have to find the attendant. Then we got lost in the hotel because the parking garage opens into a random place of the hotel and you have to take a separate set of elevators in order to even get to the lobby to check in. No bell service or baggage carts provided, so pack lightly as it is a 3-4 minute walk. The room was clean on arrival. There are only two outlets in the rooms, and none in the bathroom (my girlfriend couldn't use her hair accessories in front of a mirror.) And if you have more than two devices, you'll need to be patient and take turns charging them. The beds had a top sheet tucked all the way around into the bed because they don't actually provide a top sheet or a real bottom one for that matter; just a big extremely comfy comforter. The bathroom was a joke though. It is a bathtub with a shower head but no curtain to protect the rest of the room from water. Instead they have a half length swinging door that is maybe 2 by 3 feet large, is not water sealed, and swings either direction you push. Meaning, if you're tall like myself (6'6) it is literally impossible to take a shower because all the water bounces off of you and onto the bathroom floor. It was also extremely slippery and a very large step from out of the tub down to the floor. Elderly will struggle with getting in and out. There is also no bathroom fan so things become wet and foggy very quickly (it was raining the whole time we were there so we couldn't open the window.) Finally, from around 9-2am that night, the sink wouldn't give me any cold water. The cold water was warmer than luke warm, and we let it run for almost 5 minutes on 3 separate occasions. The hot water was scolding hot and had no variance in temperature. Not sure what that was all about as the next morning it seemed to work correctly. Basically, we were constantly surprised by the small inconveniences (no top sheet or cold water???) we kept encountering and after 2 days of them, it was hard to be positive about what The Gresham is doing: banking off their historic look and feel and charging accordingly, while actually not trying to bring the amenities into the 21st century.

Strategic location and Hospitable staff.
Comfortable stay.
Room was spacious and clean, hospitable and helpful staff, elegant lobby and very good restaurant for having a tasty meal especially breakfast.
A nice gesture from the reception, as I checked out very early before breakfast time to catch my flight and they prepared a breakfast in a bag for me.
Highly recommended

We stayed in the hotel from Friday 31st May until Monday 3rd June, the first room we got was lovely, except for the noise from the kitchen refrigeration system outside our window that kept us awake, we were moved into a different room and had a good night's sleep until 7:30 in the morning, when housekeeping staff started servicing the adjacent rooms, making noise to raise the dead, which happened again on the second morning as well, when we complained to the manager we were fobbed of with the threadbare excuse of guests arriving at 6:30 and the rooms being prepared for them, the breakfast ar room service was cold, the staff was very stand offish, except for a few exceptions we felt absolutely not made welcome by any of them, the food in Toddy's bar on the first evening was perfect, whereas the quality of the food in the writer's bar the second night left quite a lot to be desired, not to mention that they for some strange and weird reason they don't serve the full drinks menu there, I couldn't get an orchard thieves cider for love or good words, even though the previous evenings it wasn't a problem to get it in the hotel's other bars

To cut a long story short, I paid 924 hard earned money for three nights, and the standard of service we received for this wasn't worth a third of this.

We stayed at the hotel last night room 367..my name is Denise Conneely....we travelled from galway to attend the spice girls...my son who has cerebral palsy and is a wheelchair user...what a shock when a member of staff told me that we could not use the lift at the front because he might be to heavy for it and told us to use the back door....never in our lives have we been insulted in this way...this morning I spoke to a so called manager the name of Dave wouldn't give his second name...he was a total arrogant man to say the least....I will go forward and ring radio shows on Monday to see if people with disabilities have also been treated in this manner ar the hotel..never again would we stay in such an hotel..

The hotel itself is amazing and the location is next to none In terms of location for a walk through the city. I do feel the price, even with the breakfast included falls a bit short in terms of value, that being said the breakfast buffet has ample choices and it is super busy and well maintained but we did feel that the hot breakfast items could do with a slight bit more care - deep fried sausages and oily fried eggs is not exactly what you expect in such a property.
Very large rooms and spotless. The bizarre part of our stay was during check-in and during the entire process one of the management sat slouched at his desk while arguing with a customer over a telephone call, which really didn t help with the rather cold checkin process! However the checkout was far more pleasant.

I've stayed here twice and have had a great experience both times. The cleanliness of the rooms is impeccable and the staff do not mess around with customer service. The rooms can be a little pricey compared to nearby hotels but the location and atmosphere is worth every penny. I look forward to coming back to Dublin at some point and this will be where I stay. And don't miss the afternoon tea time!

Great location on O'Connell Street in the heart of Dublin City Centre. Very welcoming upon arrival, hotel is large and takes some walking to the rooms! We were given a complimentary upgrade, from a twin to what the receptionist called a suite but I'd say more a family room. Rooms were comfortable and clean, although a little warm. View was not great out the back, and windows had to be closed on a night as it was very noisy. Breakfast was OK, buffet with lots of choice. Staff were efficient throughout the service.

This was a great base of operations from which to start our Ireland vacation. It's very central and within an easy walk to pretty much everything you might want to see in Dublin and it's very close to the cheap bus from the airport.

Was having a relaxing drink with a friend and a little confusion over the bill - wanted to spilt card and cash. David was trying to look after us. His colleague ok the bar had a bee in his bonnet and seemed more interested in admonishing David than giving my friend 15 and charging it to my card instead
