The Melodrama is a great venue for a variety of events. Date night, family events, etc. Live action production of Classic tales with a often comedic twist. Nicely remodeled facility with a full snack bar. Great group of actors that deliver great performances time & again.

Very professional, very funny, vey talented. We're picky about vocalists and they brought great music with plenty of laughs. Stay after the main show for the third act of vaudeville style - its the best.

A great experience both times I went. Trudy and the Beast was a wonderful experience, and the Cast did so well with the play. They are really good at impersonating, and the whole experience was pleasant. I'm 15 by the way, and that may say a lot if someone like me thought that this play was very fun and interesting.

Really enjoyed the performance. Seating was kind of a nightmare as it seemed no one could tell us exactly where we all were supposed to be after buying large amount of grouped tickets together and then being publicly chastised for apparently being in the wrong place! The performer's were fantastic and I laughed SO much! We'd all go back in a heart beat!

I've been going here since I was a child and it's still one of my favorite places to go on the central coast. It's a great place to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries. The plays are usually very good while the vaudeville is always the best part in my opinion. The cast is friendly and you get to interact with them at the snack bar where you can get food and drinks. Not really a bad seat in the house, but center balcony and 2nd row of the tables are my fave. Casual and fun atmosphere, a great way to spend any night here on the central coast.

This is a great little melodrama. It would work as a fun date night, or as a place to go with friends. We have been twice, and both times have been enjoyable.

If you arrive a little early, you can get some food and drinks while you wait for the show to start. We always get a table, which lends itself well to snacking and keeps the mood social.

The shows are funny, and the jokes are clean. The actors do a great job, and it s fun to see them go through multiple character changes (and to have them work the snack bar before and during shows).

Buy tickets ahead of time. It s been crowded both times we ve gone. It s a casual atmosphere. But fun evening.

I've been attending shows at the Melodrama for decades. I fall in love with it all over again upon each return. The Vaudville and/or musical review at the end of most performances are a great way to finish the show.

Fabulous, fun place. Actors work in concession stand pre-curtain and sing praises every time someone tips them. Then the show starts and the fun and laughter begin. Audience cheers for the hero and boos the villain. Lots of singing and joke telling. Great fun. Atmosphere among audience: casual and friendly.

If you need to get rid of some stress, you will get that relief at the Melodrama. Enjoy a great meal, laugh till your sides ache and your eyes tear, sing your heart out and join in the merriment of birthdays and anniversaries. Love the Vaudeville reviews too!

My husband and I have been season ticket holders ever since our 2nd show back in 2005! All 3 generations LOVED the melodrama, vaudeville act, birthdays and anniversaries, and food and drink. Through the years we have met so many actors and we see many of them at the SLORep theater in San Luis Obispo as well. Even shows we have seen before are fresh when repeated. The actors are MASTERS at taking familiar songs and updating the lyrics to fit the show. If you have never gone or haven't been to the Melodrama in awhile, come on in!! The laughs are good for your health!

What's not to love!? An evening of laughter and entertainment with some of the hardest working actors in California. The Melodrama is an institution and so much fun. If you can't enjoy yourself here you should just stay in!

Great experience overall, I would go again, and I would recommend veterans and new people to go to the melodrama for a fun time. It's also a great family event, at least it was for me. The cast makes it very immersive, and even the concession people are actors.

The melodrama is quite the experience. With the intriguing actors and great service it's definitely a place to visit! I love going here with friends or even my grandma. It's the best place to bring young kids or even your parents. Definitely recommend! They also have really good options for food pretzels, nachos, hot dogs, ice cream, chili... Lot of options. Food prices are affordable as well!
