Good beers selection. Food is good, although the restaurant is bit dark. Staff is nice

Good atmosphere, average food, the waitress could use some anger management therapy, would come again for the barman and beers.

Great food, lovely staff, nice surroundings, we visit usually every time we come to Manchester... The only downside is the price of the beer on draught it's a bit steep. It is the northern quarter though so prices are inflated and you don't need to drink.

I always have a good time in here. Excellent beer choice, friendly staff and a brilliant playlist (they should make them public)

Lively bar with a good selection of drinks. Variety of burgers and other food for when you're hungry.

Its been a few months since I was last here, and it's always been good. But this time it absolutely knocked it out of the park.

And the burger was pretty damn good too, even if you can get better in Manchester. Also really fast and great service despite being rammed, incredibly impressed.

Yiu have to visit this place. Honest staff, great food, cool cocktails. Very accommodating. Give it a go.

Hip American style bar with a great selection of craft beers and awesome ribs. A bit pricey but worth a visit!

Ordered delivery food via UberEats and found it to be nearly inedible. Ribs were so overcooked that the bones crumbled easily. Flavour was repulsive. Burgers incredibly overcooked, with dry meat and soggy buns/vegetables. Fries tasted like cardboard. All very disappointing.

Shaun of the dead was a really nice cocktail. Great procedures in place for CV19 and social distancing but still had a great atmosphere. Liked being able to order on the app but was sad I couldn't get a baby guiness shot lol

What an amazing night. Superb food at crazy prices with the January deal. Also... service was top notch.

My favourite bar in manchester at the moment! Cool atmosphere, quite chilled, good music playing and lots of seating. Fun cocktails and fairly large outdoor seating at the front of the bar

Great atmosphere and music. It gets very busy on the weekend, with some people reserving tables! Selection of drinks is really good, and although I've not eaten there yet, the food looks amazing.

Science and industry upstairs was good. Table a bit small for 3 of us but food was great and quieter/ better atmosphere for eating than downstairs on a Sat night!

Always been a favourite place of mine. So much more to it than meets the eye. A really great beer selection too.

Guess I've been spoilt in other "bbq" type places. Was nothing special. The pit beans were really runny - mostly tomato, and actually barely any beans!

It wasn't offensive and was edible, but given the competition in Manchester I wouldn't go back.

I wasn't tremendously impressed with the Cane & Grain.

I went on a weekday night and it was packed, which probably means it's popular, but my group and I couldn't work out why.

The decor is great - particularly the woodwork at the bar and the outdoor seating area (which is where we ended up, in the cold due to lack of available seating indoors). However that's where my enthusiasm began and ended. As a cider and gin drinker, I found the drinks selection quite paltry.

The overly loud music didn't redeem the venue, although having to sit outside at least relieved us of having to endure this and gave us the chance to talk properly.

All in all, it's a bit of a "thumbs down" from me.

The service is friendly and not pushy, plenty of time given to eat and chat. Ribs and greens...very nice indeed!

Laid back amercan style joint with great food. Very nice hipster style place in northern quarter. There are tons of these places now in that area but this one is definitely recommended.

As always good ribs, and truffle fries are back!!!! But sadly you can't find upstairs and order or even bring drinks from the downstairs bar.

Always love the food here, usually threatens to defeat me...no different with the full rack of beef short ribs, with the Memphis mop (serious intense kick) to vary flavours.
Laidback and easygoing, not been to the bar upstairs yet, told it's good.

A group of colleagues and i were headed out and after we saw this place we decided to try it. The bouncer was curt and refused to let us in on the whim that one of us looked a little drunk. Bear in mind this is on a Thursday at around 730pm. Im sure id have rated this much higher if i had the chance actually to go in

Skate themed bar - the tap room had great bartenders, whether it's a Saturday night or a Tuesday afternoon they are always on form. Great selection of beers on draught and in bottles, if you like Kona you will like it here! The food is great and comes really quick.
Not been into the bar upstairs yet but I will do very soon, will be coming back and recommending to friends

Love the music and the cocktails! One of the very few places in Manchester that play hip hop and rnb sometimes.

Went there for Sunday lunch, the service was POOR the lady who was to wait our table was very tired/bored/not bothered... They run out of chicken burgers because she said it's been a busy week and they made a mistake on the fries! The food was ok and I have some cheese fries which compensated for everything else! They were amazing!! The prices Wes alright however probably not going back!

Super slow on food and drinks tasted watered down for some odd reason and I was only havin a double rum and coke in a tumbler.

I was visiting a friend in Manchester and she highly recommended to come to this place. They have some interesting drinks in here. I was about to have a sugar coma but I enjoyed them. The ambiance is good, not quite but not too loud so you can have a niche chat with friends. The cheese+ truffle fries are soooo delicious!

Whent in 12-30pm in the morning not busy had to use the app to long to get a drink girl could have took our drinks order when we sat down

Most of the food was over cooked. Some portions were a joke. Burgers were really small. 3 skinny onion rings does not constitute a portion. Drinks were expensive but on par with the area. Staff were attentive but clearly in a rush to get us out. Wouldn't eat there again.

cool place but limited. No low alcohol beer. The ribs were as dry as a camels back, was like eating desert road kill. The staff were very nice and welcoming.

The staff and food were excellent only 4 stars due to limited veggie options

A real great atmosphere at this bar, fantastic selection of beers and in particular a great selection of American whiskeys. The staff are really passionate and they know their drinks.

Waiter Usman was awesome but food was disappointing

Hate the shared bathrooms, love the craft beer, could do with a good clean in some areas!!!

Don t miss out on the chill room downstairs. Cocktails are good here too, usually has a good armosphere - pretty solid choice on a night out.

Really cool bar. The menu is epic and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Skate and band stuff everywhere and the music is always top. Highly recommended.

Loved the place. I enjoy the tiki lounge. The place does nice cocktails. The bar staff are friendly and one has great sass!

Worth a visit. I would suggest trying a Frankenstein. They cost more but the amount is worth it and it lasted longer than I expected
