Stone House Hotel Review

Warm and welcoming every time. Just as you would want a hotel in the countryside to be. Stunning location. Great food!!

I usually don't review pubs/restaurants I go to (as you can see, this is only my third review ever). But I have to say, after having so many lattes in all kind of inns I visited in Yorkshire Dales, I never had an opportunity to have such nice tasting coffee so well served with toasts as here in Stone House. Very reasonable breakfast and breathtakingly fantastic staff.

Lovely place with friendly, efficient staff. The restaurant food was delicious. Well deserved 5 stars.

We had a lovely getaway for 2 in March. The room was period and comfortable, the food and hospitality was excellent and the house itself very well kept and interesting. We will be back to explore more next year

Fantastic rooms, a beautiful location, well priced for what you get. Fantastic food lovely, honestly you'd be a fool to miss this place. Oh and the bench, one of the best I have come across.

You can visit the local waterfalls (Hardraw Force and Aysgarth Falls - both featured in the film Robin Hood Prince of Thieves) or take a trip down into White Scar Caves.

All staff are friendly, will answer all questions and are always available/willing to help.

Great food- we were there tonight for a family gathering and really enjoyed it. The staff were really helpful and welcoming. The place is clean, and very atmospheric, and it is definitely worth the money.

Lovely, friendly hotel with impressive prospects across the dales. Lounges with open fires and a snooker room/library. Well-appointed rooms each with a slightly different character.

Beautiful antique interior with nice restaurant! Wine selection was great too. Stunning view from the room. Definitely going back.

Absolutely wonderful. All staff are warm & friendly, genuinely interested in you as guests. Lynn is amazing-her attention to detail is second to none & we appreciated her warm bubbly personality. Our Dutch friends were impressed by the true spirit of Yorkshire and the welcome that they experienced. The house setting is superb,all guest rooms& lounges are well decorated and comfortable. A real treat to have fresh milk available from a small fridge close to rooms. The food is first class-great choice & extremely well presented. We will definitely be returning....and soon. Thank you.

Stone house hotel is a beautiful house in glorious surroundings in wensleydale. Close to market town of hawes and hardraw force.....a stunning waterfall.... and in the middle of wonderful walking country.
Castles and beautiful houses and villages all within easy reach in this part of God's country .
Hotel warm, elegant, comfortable and the food is excellent. Welcoming staff made our stay thoroughly marvellous

Good place to put bikes. Good views. However, food was mediocre despite what other reviews say. Beds not the best.

Would thoroughly recommend it. We got the smallest room but still well kept and thoughtfully arranged. Fully equipped. Great food. Great lounges with fireplace in the evening.

Great hotel, great food. Beautiful setting, and scenery. Easy access to the Pennine Way. Dog friendly, loads there during our stay. Friendly staff, family owned. All the staff are locals so can help with what to do and see. If you like Gin then this is a special place to stay as the owner also owns a Gin distillery. I've included a few photos.

Very comfortable and spacious room, friendly and helpful staff, nice touch is real milk for tea/coffee in the room. Good location: quiet, set in countryside but only five minutes drive from Hawes. Excellent waitress-service breakfast, dinner menu changes daily, not a huge choice but all well presented and very well cooked. Secure bike store.

Excellent cosy little hotel in the Yorkshire Dales. Spent a relaxing weekend here. The food menu is a 5 course meal which changes daily (generally good, but slightly hit and miss). Walking distance from Hawes.

We ve been coming to The Stone House since 2005 and every time we come it just gets better and better. The quality of hospitality, service, food, ambience and surroundings is, in my opinion, second to none.

It is impossible to say anything other than how brilliant the staff are. In today s modern world of rush and transience there Stone House has a peaceful almost eternal feel.

The various parties (we ve enjoyed the New Year s Party for several years) are really worth trying.

None of this could happen without the dedication and care of the owners and their
highly skilled team. The Stone House Hotel sets the bar that all others are judged by.

Beautiful setting, very cosy and traditional style, extremely friendly staff and delicious food...what else to expect? I can only find praises... when you come here all you have to do is enjoying... The perfect place for long and beautiful walks when the weather allows it, and if not, just enjoy a good book in front of the fireplace... Here, Peace is gold and the views, platinum...

A Hidden Gem of a small country house hotel, staff really friendly giving a welcome, great food, wine at sensible prices, rooms nice and warm, beds very comfortable, quaint lounges with open fires, all in all a great bolt hole for a few days away, we will be back.

Stopped here for lunch on a rainy November day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bar area is very cosy, open fire, oak panelled rooms etc. Very nice food, reasonably priced. Would definitely stop here again.

Comfortable hotel in good countryside location with excellent views. Friendly, helpful staff, good Black Sheep draft beer. Food excellent at dinner and breakfast. Service became a bit stretched during afternoon check in period and at bar in the later evening but didn't detract from our enjoyment of a very good hotel.

Comfortable staff bend over backwards to help. Tbh the food has been 4/5 the lastvcoupke of visits rather than 5/5 but great location and breakfast is by far the best meal of the day. Enjoy.
