"Fine" was the best word to describe our stay. The room was quite small and dated, but fine. Service was fine. Property was fine. Spa was, again, a bit dated but fine. Nothing wrong, just nothing that would draw me back.

Always a favorite when staying in Sonoma. The suites are spacious, quiet, and incredibly comfy...would recommend booking a suite over a regular room if you can swing it. I love the fireplace and the wood they deliver daily. The daily wine hour they host is also fun and a can't-miss activity. Their spa is huge and the services are wonderful. We spent hours there one day and loved every minute of it.

We rented a cabana at the spa pool. The people and service were great. The pool was fine... but why on earth would you have curtains on the cabana that are not long enough to close the opening. This means you can not change in the cabana you have to go to the restroom... why even have the curtains if they aren't long enough. What is the point... agh agh agh...

Rooms are good and up to date. Grounds are nice, but smaller than I would have thought. Self parking can be a problem since not enough spaces. Lobby has nice atmosphere and nice fire pits outside

Went here for Valentines day and had a horrible experience. We arrived at 4:30 (checkin was at 4), and were told that we have to wait indefinitely for the room to be ready. Well they offered to tag our bags and hold them for us and informed us that there was a complimentary glass of wine available outside. Great, sounds like a nice way to kill 20 minutes. When we came back a half hour later, all of our bags and valuables were just sitting in the hallway completely unattended. We were finally able to get into our room around 6:30 after waiting around in the lobby for two hours. I could have gotten over the check in thing but then we were double charged for room service breakfast, and they tried to charge us full price on our dinner after promising us 20% off, so owe had to spend another 15 minutes during checkout to argue with them over the bill. Not fun. If the service isn't good, and the rooms are old and tiny, what the hell are you paying for? Avoid.

Beautiful resort, with an awesome spa experience. The infrastructure is a little bit dated, but it does not detract from the experience too much. Staff over the holidays was a little hit or miss, but overall helpful.

Stayed here after being evacuated & everyone was so helpful. Especially Rosario, Laura, Jesus and Renee at the front desk & Max, Patricia, Faye & Matt at Concierge. Please thank them for being so supportive while I stayed on your beautiful property. Will definitely be back!

We visited the spa, not for the first time, the operation hours were reduced for the winter 8-6 now and if one attends a class or too, time goes by very quickly. 2 mineral hot water pools outside and one inside, friendly stuff. The only downside is outdated showers.

First time visit here. We reserved one of the cabanas with a whirlpool hot tub. With the reservation we had full access to the bath house and discounts on spa services. It was a perfect choice to just be able to hang out by the pool or on the terrace in the sun. The bath house is a fun activity and very relaxing. My favorite was just floating in the Watsu pool. I left very happy and will be booking another day.

Spa day was amazing! Glenn was my massage therapist and he was wonderful. I then got a pedicure from Bebe and she was lovely. Bebe's co-worker, Rodolfo was also a breath of fresh air... what a duo! The environment is clean, relaxing and the staff is friendly and courteous.

Not what you would expect of a Fairmont hotel. The place is dated and the rooms are not that great. Our room had peeling paint, mold in the shower, the refinished shower was chipping, and the room had random unpainted patches on the walls.
On the other hand the service here was on point, exactly what we'd expect from Fairmont.
Parking is difficult when the hotel is full. Valets were helpful during normal business hours, but late at night you are on your own.

Bottomline: there are a lot nicer hotels in Sonoma.

We went to the Sonoma Mission Inn this past weekend to celebrate a 70th birthday. We had a wonderful time. The food truck on Friday and Saturday night was amazing and the fire pits located throughout the front lawn area were awesome. We enjoyed s'mores at our own fire pit and music in the evening. We also were able to enjoy the spa. While not all services were available because of COVID restrictions, we all were able to get either facials or massages and enjoy the outdoor pool facilities afterwards with a reserved chair. It was perfect. Finally, we celebrated the birthday with a semi-private area outdoor at the restaurant for the 11 of us. It was spectacular. The food was amazing and the all of the staff I encountered thoughout the stay were really helpful and friendly. It has been years since I have stayed here but am so glad we chose that hotel for our celebration. Can't wait to return!

Very nice resort, friendly staff, close to town, and best of all - hot springs on site! I"m taking 1 star away due to room decor, it is very tired looking! They need to remodel and update the rooms.

Beautiful resort in Sonoma! Grab a bottle of wine and sit in one of the Adirondack chairs situated around the grounds. Or try the on site restaurant. You can't go wrong with anything you do here!

If only Fairmont would keep the spa open until 7pm, but otherwise, a true favorite and regular destination!
**Update since a second visit in August; sadly, we were not greeted nicely this time around..staff at spa check in were very rude and stuffy. Treated us as though we were trying to take advantage, and changed their rules regarding Good Neighbor, Birthday day without any notification. It is now required that Good Neighbors purchase one treatment in the past year before they can enjoy a day at the spa, but they only seem to tell you that when you show up to try and enjoy your Birthday day, and then tell you it is all "word of mouth," and therefore that is why they didn't email us of that change in policy. They were unable to look up my friends gift voucher (she forgot to print it). Very unorganized and unhelpful system. We were not given robes...had to beg for them.. The food was cold and soggy. Honestly, it was if the ownership had changed. Definitely not up to the Fairmont standards we have always delighted in. Major let down and such a shame since this has been a favorite destination and get away from SF for a longbtime now.

Due to a series of flight mishaps, I arrived at 3am on my day of checkin. I tried to check in hoping to grab a couple hours of sleep before my full day of meetings. I told by the front desk that I was more than happy to pay for the full rate of an additional night as I was clearly way too early for my scheduled check in. In spite of the fact they had EMPTY rooms they told me they could not check me in because of the computer system. What??? I was told to rest in my car until my meetings began. Lovely, no shower, no sleep, not my idea of a Spa environment -- not to mention the litancy of personal safety issues for a woman traveling alone. I plan meetings for large groups and will NEVER use this facility again. Zero customer service. Zero problem solving. Zero humanity even when you are more that willing to pay more that full fare.

I am a travel agent and thought I was booking an above average hotel. My clients did not agree. They put my older clients on the 3rd floor and then proceeded to tell them there was no elevator. The room was musty and they got moved but the new room still smelled. The rooms need updating. They rare small with no dresser and very small baths. Bed was terrible. On the positive side-lobby was very nice. The suites in the newer section looked nice.
I will not be using this hotel with other clients who want an upscale hotel-needs refurbishment!

I stayed at the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in December for a meeting and had a great experience. The grounds and facilities were beautifully decorated. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. Staff were very helpful with recommendations. I would recommend taking advantage of their complementary bikes to ride around the beautiful countryside. Be aware facilities are a little older, however, this didn t negatively impact my experience but added to the unique environment.

Everything was pretty nice for the one night I was there. It was pretty much all pretty standard, our room was a little nicer than expected but everything was pretty much how we thought it was going to be.

Overall experience and service: excellent. We especially enjoyed the personal, genuine hospitality. Faye was so sweet and helpful when we called Royal Service for anything.
Rooms: clean, comfortable, cute decor. We had everything we needed and slept great. In room dining was fast, delicious and courteous service. Edward added those extra touches that mean so much and really make the weekend great. We enjoyed the complementary bottle of wine in the room.
Dinner on the patio: Linda got us in for Saturday night dinner day of on Valentine's weekend. Despite the cool temperatures, we were cozy with multiple heaters near us. And the food was outstanding. Especially the chateaubriand, which was the star of the show. Dinner was a great value and delicious. The sommelier, Brian, came to our table and told us in detail about the dessert wine options, and what would pair nicely with our dessert choices. Not to mention, despite our long, late dinner, we never felt rushed out. The service was impeccable!
Wine hour: Each day, a different local winery brings a variety of wines for free tastings. Grab a glass, sit next to a fire pit in the calming grounds. A very relaxing and chill vibe. Perfect for a late afternoon experience. Don't forget to grab a smores kit at the bar and enjoy the fire pit to the fullest!
Brunch on the patio: Do not miss the mimosas and the avacado toast with the poached eggs. Amazing. Best avacado toast I've ever had! In addition, despite the rain and cool temps, we were fully covered and toasty warm. Thanks again to Linda and Kara for making our experience exceptional.
Can't wait to be back, it's truly an oasis away from home.

I organized a big work party here and it was a great experience! We worked primarily with Jim Bast - and he made the whole experience very easy. The thing I found especially important about this hotel is that they allow you to book for one night only (no 2-night minimum stay like you see practically everywhere else). They were accommodating for our guests with children and nursing mothers. Would highly recommend!

We met another couple here for a 2 night stay. I have to give 4 stars for the hotel, the spa but mostly to the awesome staff.
There is one thing that gets 1 star and I'd like to warn other guests about. Check your bill a day or 2 AFTER you check out!
Both our friends and us were charged additional the day after checking out! My friends were charged an extra 800. 00 and were were charged over 700.00 extra. Upon making phone calls we were partially reimbursed for a little over 300.00 saying there was a "computer glitch" The rest we were told were spa charges, even though the package we bought included the spa. Why didn't they say something at the spa of the extra charges that were being tacked on?
Why wait until the next day?
They must make alot of extra money by doing this.

So disappointed. Our room didn't get cleaned until we finally called the second day. It is located in the middle of an industrial zone. The staff was aloof and snooty. I've been to other Fairmont properties, and this one did not live up to the Fairmont standard. The bath water would get Luke warm at best. Room service took over 45 minutes, and the tuna tartare was NOT fresh. Tuna tasted quite fishy and I spent half the night with stomach cramps. It took more than 16 hours before the food tray was cleared from the hallway. The price for many of the amenities was outrageous. For example, $39 per guest per day to use spa pool, $10 per day to listen to music on TV, Automatic 20%gratuity on room service that took nearly 1 hour to arrive. There were a few staff members that were AMAZING, which made the stay bareble. Needless to say I will not be staying at this location again.

This was magical. The Mission in was built in 1927 and renovated in 1980 to reflect it's 1927 look. We love the history of the Mission Inn. It is not old, it is interesting and to be appreciated. The service is absolutely perfect, the food at Santi was delicious. There are cozy sofas and chairs outside so you can enjoy the lovely weather. We did not want to leave.

Staff was so accommodating and sweet. I was evacuated and they went out of their way to help me and my 3 kids. Ali at the front desk was so nice, Beverly Kleven walked me to the front desk and was so kind. Then Kathy Haas ensures I was having a good experience when I saw her in the lobby. Outstanding.

Just went to the spa, didn't stay at the hotel this time. It's a fantastic day spa. My facial was at 530 so I had a little time time hang out before they closed at 8 and I had the place to myself, amazing!

Sonoma Mission Inn is my family's first-choice luxury resort in the Sonoma Valley wine country. Their Willow Stream Spa is top notch, the bathing ritual alone keeps me coming back. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, with wood fireplaces, each provided with little fire-and-forget burlap bags of firewood. It's a great escape from the city, and the wineries here are truly just as good as over the hill in Napa. The outdoor pool is warm, the fire pit has bar service, the wine selections are out of this world (hello Screaming Eagle by the glass!) What really made the visit the best though, was how friendly everyone from the hotel was to my family. Historic Sonoma Mission Inn will always be one of our favorites, and we will definitely be back!

I visited the spa for the day, got a manicure so I could float around the pools. I believe my manicurist's name was Rodolpho and he did a great job and made good conversation. I love this place when I am in the area!

Sante - in the Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa

Sante - in the Fairmont Mission Inn and Spa

This is one of the best restaurants I've eaten at. The service is excellent, the food is exciting, and the wine list is extensive (as it should be).

From reception to dessert, the service was excellent and efficient. The waiter was very knowledgable about the specials, the wine pairings, and had useful opinions about several of the appetizers and entrees.

The food was amazing. We had the :"grownup macaroni and cheese" that involved truffle oil, lobster, an excellent cheese and an amazing crust. The duck dish included duck confit in a grilled onion and sliced duck with a crispy skin.

The wine list was extensive and included over 6 pages of high-end Napa/Sonoma Cabernets. Pricing was reasonable for selections I could compare against other restaurants.

The hotel, grounds, and staff have been exeptional. The problem i had was with the spa. I didnt have a problem with my treatments at the spa...they were great. It was the noise. I was in the middle of a lovely wrap treatment when all of a sudden someone started talking in the waiting area...very loudly. This person continued their conversation for about 15-20 minutes. I finally said something to the women who was providing my treatment and she went out to address the issue with the concierge. So basically half of my $200 treatment was listening to a loud woman in the lobby....not relaxing at all. I also have an issue with the 20% gratuity that is automatically added to your bill. I have no problem tipping 20% for great service but a tip is just that...a tip and the decision to leave one of any amount should be up to the person receiving and paying for the treatment. This is set up as a high end spa and i didnt feel like i had a high end experience when it was all said and done.
