The most disappointing hotel experience we've ever...

The most disappointing hotel experience we've ever had. We expect more from a Fairmont property.
1. Checking in : our room was not ready on time. Check in time was 4 and we arrived at 5:30. We were told that the room will be ready in 30 min but we ended up getting our room close to 6:30. The person who seemed like the manager came out and apologized but we have not gotten any apologies from the front desk regarding the delay. Could have been better handled by the front desk.
2. Hotel room lacked basic amenities. Despite getting the room late, the room was missing towels. No hand towel and bath towel. Called the front desk/concierge (no number for housekeeping available) but had to try few times since no one was answering. Finally Patricia answered but was very rude and kept saying she cannot go in to the room if we are inside. I understand that it is COVID times but this could have been handled better.
3. Small pool and lack of hot tub availability
Considering the fact that this is a five star hotel and paying over a grand for the weekend stay, this resort lacked resort-like features. The resort is also located in the middle of city/downtown and you could hear all the roadside noise.
4. Parking
Parking lot was small and difficult to find available space. Might have been better pre-covid times since they had valet parking but now that they did not offer valet parking, the parking space was lacking.
5. Room
Bathtub was lacking glass door or shower curtains. The tiny bit of glass it had only covered 1/3 of the length of the tub. Water would splatter all over during the shower and the floor.
One of the window was missing window screen and the other window had one but was about to fall off.

The best part of the stay was the restaurant. All of the restaurant staff were professional. The food was also superb. I will definitely return for the restaurant but not for the stay.

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn is always the hotel that I daydream about staying at AND it s the hotel I compare every other hotel I stay in to! All staff members are so eager to be helpful and they do it with such a kind genuine spirit! I m always more and more impressed every time I visit. I d definitely recommended eating at Sante at least once, I ve never had a dish that I wasn t absolutely in love with. The service is phenomenal!!! Very professional and personable. I had mentioned that I accidentally locked myself out of my room and the waiter offered to go to the front desk and get me a new room key so I wouldn t have to leave my seat at the table. The property itself is romantic and elegant but kid and pet friendly. My favorite hotel EVER!

Stayed at the Fairmont Sonoma on a girls weekend. The property is beautiful and has a ton of fun extra amenities like champagne on arrival, morning yoga, and daily wine tasting on the lobby. The lobby and grounds are beautiful and the hotel itself is kind of tucked away making it feel peaceful. The pool, hot tub, and spa is incredible, but unfortunately you cannot access it without paying an additional price. The only pool included with your stay is the outdoor pool and does not include hot tub access which is disappointing when you re visiting during the cooler months.

We had massages and spent the day in the bath house and pools. The facilities were beautiful, clean, and luxurious. The staff was very friendly, and both of the masseuses were amazing. The hotel facilities also seemed beautiful.

Classic weekend getaway in a historic hotel with Michelin star restaurant and 5 star spa with several pools with warm mineral waters pumped up from over 1000 feet below the hotel. Accommodations provide the utmost in comfort. If you want to do more, wineries, Glen Ellen or the town of Sonoma are minutes away, enjoy the Valley of the Moon.

Very nice place. We really enjoyed the stay. We went here for two nights and loved it. Yes, the rooms are not the newest, but you also stay at a historic site. It is very luxurious and the staff ist not only super friendly, but also helpful. Ok, it would be nice if the spa would be included in the stay. At the end of the day, it is a spa hotel.

Beautiful property in the heart of Sonoma. Everything about the property was great. We had dinner one night at the nice restaurant and drinks at the bar by the lobby. Both experiences were fantastic.

A beautiful spot near the heart of Sonoma. Only minutes from town square and close to dozens of wineries. The Concierge was kind enough to put together a list of winners for us to visit that were within minutes of the hotel. The staff was friendly and outgoing. The room was comfortable and the fireplace was an added treat. I can't wait to go back!!d

This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. The staff were all welcoming and friendly, the environment was beautiful and relaxing, and the room was adorable with a comfy bed and nice shower.

At the end of October about 35 of us from around the world descended on the Fairmont to celebrate a couple s union. Our stays ranged from two to six days, but to a person we all concluded that our entire expereince was pure magic: from the planning through execution of our event to the individual attention we received from a range of staff members. Kudos to the Fairmont! From food/wine to general relaxing environs you kept our fun-loving, well traveled, and admittedly sometimes picky group so pleased, comfortable, and entertained, we are already excitedly discussing an anniversary revisit next year.

I called (as soon as I heard the wildfire was coming toward my home and I had to evacuate) and booked a room. When I got there at 1:30 AM, they said they had given the room away. No one would speak to me about it. BEYOND rude, cruel and inexcusable behavior.

We couldn't have had a better experience than our time at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa. They offer free, guided hikes each morning. My husband and I were often the only ones in the group,

I went to the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa for a spa treatment I found on Travelzoo. It started with the locker room, which was nicely appointed and moved to the "bathing ritual". This was a combination of pools and steam rooms/saunas which the customer should enjoy in a certain order. There was fresh fruit, champagne, and coffee. I was then taken to my spa appointment (aptly named the "Executive Meltdown". The service included a massage, scrub, hand and foot massage, and hot rock treatment. Overall, the visit was fantastic.

This review is a long time coming. We stayed here last fall when we were desperate for a get away. It was exactly what our spirits needed! With the exception of the hot tubs, everything was open. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming, and the grounds beautifully maintained. So grateful for the GM's assistance and his quick thinking in helping me start my zoom on time. I'm over joyed to be returning this weekend and doing a bicycle wine tour and some deep R&R.

I stayed here over the Christmas holiday and was rather disappointed. It was really expensive for a basic room, they tried to charge a valet fee when we were forced to valet because there was no parking. To even use the hot tub, which is not included as a regular hotel guest you have to pay an additional 39$ a day as a hotel guest per person. The weather was colder and it would've been nice. I feel like they really nickel and dime, I mean really just include everything in the price don't separate everything. I also tried to cancel this reservation approx 10 day prior and was informed I would be charged the full amount. There was not 24 hour cancellation as with most reservations. I will not stay here again and am extremely disappointed in Fairmonth in general. I would suggest staying in a B&B to those looking, instead of this overstated nickel and dimer

Top-notch service and gorgeous setting, they incorporated all the social distance protocols in a discreet and classy manner. The pools and a late afternoon massage on the porch was the perfect way to spend my birthday. I loved every moment!

We stayed here April 2018 for a medical conference.

Definitely gave you the luxurious feel. Our room was updated. Initial service and room service were great. There was an elevator for the rooms in the building across the main building (where we stayed), which was nice for moving our luggage. There was a spa, but was very overpriced in my opinion. Food was good, but expensive like everything there. Limited parking. Biggest problem we had was they put a $300 hold on our credit card and wouldn't take it off for over 5 days (multiple phone calls) as I was planning on that money to pay for some of my other expenses for our travels.

Was a nice stay, but likely will not be back.
