I went there with a party of friends for a birthday get together at their advertised Over 28's "Wham Glam" retro night.
Staff.
Friendly and helpful.
Pub.
A great looking pub with a fantastic layout. exactly like a Traditional British pub.
Event Venue at rear.
Again, a great looking pub with a fantastic layout. a decent sized dance floor, and ample seating for relaxed moments.
Food.
The bar menu is great. Tasty food at a sensible price.
Drinks.
A great choice and respectable prices.
So Overall, for a Pub, it certainly ticks all the boxes so why did I only offer 2 stars?
The Pub, and the function room stank... it was bad, and I can only describe it as a mixture of stale vomit and a disinfected peep show booth. Which, when you are ordering a meal before an evening of dancing, is really off putting!
The advertised over 28's Glam night... I think they need to get a new DJ, With all the latest unknown dance anthems, a glam night this most definitely wasn't, although their resident band done a great job, pity they didn't stay on stage while the DJ was sacked!
What a total let down to the point of leaving less than 1 and 3/4 hours after arriving. to go to a known venue that ticked all the same boxes and more. (Bar94 in Swan Street, Richmond).
If you really are not fussed, then the place has potential for an average night out, but if you want a great memory, I'd steer well clear of this place.
