Having been to many aquarium over the years The Deep nearly matches The one in Durban. Certainly the best in England. Mustn't rest on its deserved laurels though as even some of the smaller places such as the Newquay aquarium have much to offer with excellent & engaging guides. Some great opportunities to view the fish and other aquatic animals. Great example of a saw fish.....recommended.

The downside was the parking and the queue to get in, The Deep itself we loved, be prepared if you go at peak times such as school holidays to have to drive around a few car parks a while before you find a space, their car park was full as were three surrounding car parks. It took us 40 minutes to find a parking space and then the queue to get in was around another 45 minutes. You'll see a wide range of aquatic creatures not just fish plus there are also frogs, snakes, beetles and insects. Learn about the history of the oceans and our planet and inhabitants from millions of years ago as well as one's alive today, how they've adapted and about how our seas are changing. Very intetesting and educational and a chance to see things you won't see anywhere else. The "scenic lift" at the end fantastic idea but it goes too fast for you to really see much as you go up, in seconds it's over.

Ok

What a great day out for my two girls aged 4 and 8. Great value based upon the attraction as a whole. Amazing main tank, coupled with great exhibits, informative displays and visuals. Secure parking is 3 pounds for 6 hours. The ticket is also valid for another visit during the year. There is a picnic area and a restaurant, I would say base your judgement on the aquarium after all that's why you are there, if you want a snack its fine. All in all a great 2.5/ 3.5 hour attraction. !!

Love love love The Deep! We will definitely be returning, especially as unlimited returns is included in the original ticket price!
Our 1 year old son loved it as his birthday treat, especially the big fish and jellyfish.
Loved the addition of a soft play section, after all the excitement our soon had some steam to crawl off!
Everyone is really helpful and it really is a fab day out.

Beautiful clean and tidy place to take little sea explorer children for a day out. Good place for a date because of the warmth and dim lighting and slow strolling to take in all the wonderful fish

We went with our 15 month old daughter on what must have been one of their busiest days of the year! None the less, she loved it, as did we. Plenty of things to capture the imagination and very good value for money. Food was decent enough, but mostly sold out so get in the cafe early! There are picnic stops so bring your own if you come with kids!

Would love to tell you about the inside of The Deep but ended up walking away! We turned up at 11.15am and there was NO parking, it was rammed. Had to squeeze in on the street somewhere but then discovered on walking up to the entrance, there was a queue around 300 metres long outside (in the freezing cold) It was at this point we turned around, we just hadn t come prepared to queue out in the cold with 2 young kids
So pleased the place is successful but if you re going over the half-term, be warned!
Can seriously recommend the Street Life museum (free) just across the road though in Old Town Hull, just a beautiful area with a fab lunch in the Trinity Hall...all was forgiven.

Great day out. I took my life skills group & we had a real laugh. The main tank with the sharks is so cool & all the staff were really keen to help & share their knowledge. Also, getting 12months of visits for each ticket is great.

I've been countless times as a visitor during the day, if had a romantic anniversary meal in the two rivers resturant and I've got married and had our reception here too. Its a great place with plenty to see and do. Now I have a 1 year old that loves to toddle around and point at the fishes

A wonderful day out for the family. Kids were enraptured the entire way round by the incredible display of sealife. The central tank that you visit from various different levels several times is particularly fab, and we caught one of the talks which was fascinating. The very first section is a real bottleneck in the school holidays but once you were into the main section it was better. Food nice, quick service. Good facilities overall and a stunning view on the balcony outside the restaurant. A lovely day out.

Very well organised for current restrictions. Just remember you are only allowed round once. We found this out as we wanted to reenter and use the cafe for lunch but were told this wasn't possible. The lady was very polite and we got our lunch elsewhere. It was still a great morning visit and we'll be back again soon.
