Our children loved today's outing, a day trip to the deep. Their favourite being the sting ray, and sharks. We did think the tunnel would be a little bigger, but the thrill of a shark swimming overhead is fascinating. We will definitely be coming again for our free revisit within a year of ticket purchase. We didn't eat inside today, but the cafe serves multiple choices of meals so we will be next time. I came out lighter in the old bank account after the gift shop, but don't all parents. After all who can walk away form a pretty seahorse and replica shark and clown fish toys. Especially the mood rings were a winner for my daughters.

Postcode on the plan your visit page is wrong so we drove around a little before finding you following the brown signs and using google maps.
Cafe and gift shop were priced quite well.
Lots to see, kids loved it

Brilliant wish we had one in Northern Ireland. Great displays and interactive events a must for families and anyone interested in the deep. Handy car parking but could do with the hop on and off bus service. Accessible to all the attractions of the old part of the city.

Visited with the family this weekend just gone. Had concerns about Covid, but they've really gone above and beyond in making the place as safe as can be with regular sanitising of common touch surfaces. Having to wear a mask all the way round was a small price to pay though.

What an experience. I loved every minute of my visit here, there's aquatic life of all kinds for you to gawp at, and it's clear that the people who work with them every day are enthusiastic about their work. It was wonderful to see so many different species in well looked after displays, and there was a lot to learn for both young and old.

My absolute highlight was the rays gliding around one of the main tanks. It's a shame that the touch pools were closed, but all the more reason to go back in future. Well worth a visit if you're in the area, and worth a detour even if you're not. Highly recommended.

I love the deep. There are loads of water living creatures inside the deep, for example sharks, sea turtles and penguins. It brings out message to the public that we should protect our environment.

Nothing like what I was expecting. Yes the big fish tank is impressive but that's about it. The penguins looked bored and Looked out of place and to be honest I felt sorry for them. I'm not really sure what I expected or if it's aimed at younger people but I was wasn't impressed.

I was raised by the mighty river Humber so we were brought up with tales of the sea , when i left school my first job was working on trawlers i went fishing to the arctic fishing grounds , so u see i have knowledge of the sea and of many types of fish and the deep has many types of fish including fish iv never seen in arctic waters , it is a very interesting place to visit for all ages , people love the place and some return many times , and u can also get a meal there great for travelers

We really enjoyed our visit to the deep. The only disappointing thing is that there is not enough room to view the penguins being fed.

If you're taking a picnic, it's probably best to carry it with you. There's lots of stairs to get back to the car (the lifts are always busy) and you have to go back to the start to get back in again.

We spent around 4 hours there but will return to spend more time in certain areas.

We went here yesterday. Absolutely amazing place, adults and children equally amazed. I would have given this 5 stars but THE GIFT SHOP IS FULL OF PLASTIC. And such a giant space literally covered in it. Slightly hypocritical considering there is 2 displays advising people plastic is wrong. Please sort this out The Deep.

Gorgeous! Well worth entry admission; I had a great day. Exhibits include penguins, fish (obviously) and slime, although the corals exhibit is not yet open. Free entry for the following year means I'll definitely be coming back!

Best of its ilk as long as you remember three things; 1: get there early or the queues and crowding inside make it unbearable 2: the ticket gives annual admission so go more than once to get good value 3: the cafe is poor so plan ahead. Also great location. Just cross the bridge to get to dinostar, the marina and short walk to the museum quarter.

Great place for the kids. If you get a quiet day, you can take your time and view all the aquariums and tanks. The signs for each feature appear to have been updated, so more interactive and informative for the kids too.

Absolutely amazing place. We totally loved it here. Staff were really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Lifts were busy up to the third floor where it all begins, one was out of action but was pretty quick. You start three stories up and work your way down with lots of slopes for easy pushchair / wheelchair access.
Cafe was reasonably priced, as was the gift shop.
The main aquarium was such an amazing focal point, seen from all different angles and depths, then to finish off we went into the glass lift which was inside the aquarium! Just magical.
Tickets for the day, but are actually annual tickets so we can return again! So pleased.

The Deep is brilliant, lots to see and do for kids of all ages! Penguins are good, two cafes here, mini kids playground, amazing huge tank filled with all kinds of enormous fish and a very informative trip provided by the amazing staff, constantly on hand to answer any questions you may have. The day Plus is a great idea too, pay once and get entrance free for a year. Great idea. My kids love it and so do I. Five star all the way.

Have been coming here reasonably regularly for a couple of years and love it... But seriously needs to spend some cash on the half way cafe.... I normally bring a picnic but today didn't. Stopped for coffee/cake. Bad service, sticky chairs and one cake option. Brilliant!

Great place to visit with the family, although we were directed to park on a grass verge as directed by staff not the actual car park and to my surprise we still had to pay and display even though we were not parked in a a parking bay.

Good value cafe, really interesting day out. The queue to get in in the morning is ridiculous, so either arrive later on or arrived 30 mins before opening. Parking, annoyingly, is not free, but the displays inside are great and will interest everyone.

Really enjoyed my visit. So many different aquatic species to see and learn about. However, I wasn't blown away with the layout, didn't live up to the expection to what people have said about it. Great for kids to explore and interact.

A nice day out with family everywhere seems very clean and tidy and staff very happy and welcoming. The only fault I have is the car parking machines do not except card like most, maybe worth mentioning on the website as not everyone carries cash these days.

The aquarium is great but there's also too much reading and the kids just want to be off, no time for reading! Not too bad but only 5 miles away I think I would be disappointed if I had traveled a long way .

Excellent attraction for young and old alike. Wonderful displays of fish of all species. Good access to all areas in a wheelchair, the staff were very helpful and willing to answer any questions. All in all a good day's visit and worth the money.

Awesome experience with a time line going back from the beginning of the earth to the present day of our ocean. They have over 100 fish with plenty of large enclosures designed specifically for the inhabitants. They are extremely helpful with disabilities and difficulties. And giving you a half way stop really helps. It's an amazing building with a decent amount of parking space but it becomes rather busy between 10 and 3
