Service, food, professional and great tasting food. Extensive menu, and FABULOUS slections!

Hadn't been there for years. Before the new owners who promptly refurbished both the interior and exterior doing a fantastic job in the process. A new menu with a series of delicious entrees. I'd have no problem if they renamed it the New Colonial cause it ain't your mother's Colonial!

Been coming here my entire life, great food, great location.

We love it here what a treat to be able to go to a diner and get a huge selection of vegan choices! It's over an hour away but when we have something up the road or feel like a drive this is a great stop. :) have the quesedeas last time.. Yum!

I've heard good things and checked it out. The chicken divan was devine!

Wow what a shock my service was horrible today and so was my food I will not come back here again. My waitress did absolutely nothing and waited until the end to ask me for a refill on my drink when I had been there sucking on ice cubes for 30 minutes, my food had no taste and to top that off neither did the rice pudding, she didn't even put whip cream on it! For the first time ever eating out I didn't leave a tip bc there service was that bad.... Here's my tip, stop hiring kid's and get better cooks!

Colonial brings back memories of my youth when I would be out drinking and come in late for a good breakfast ,it's under new ownership but it appears they still have the same values and good service

Nice clean place food is good decent size portions.

I had a wonderful time in this place. We liked the superb ambience and the meals. The staff were super personal. I m glad we ultimately decided to visit this restaurant.

Never had a bad experience. Classic Jersey diner. Only reason to be in that part Woodbury.

Not just omelets! I've been going to "the diner" for so many years now it has become a staple. From late night snacks to Sunday Breakfast; Colonial has something for everyone. Strong coffee, rye toast, SOS to wings, soup and dinner specials; stop by day or night.

My experience was great the 1st time I ordered. Everything was cooked to perfection! Unfortunately with the following 3 orders, the food quality has become extremely inadequate. I ordered this evening and asked for a steak well done and received raw, I repeat, raw steak and then was told that if I, "order from us again" I will "be charged for the replacement steak." I was also told "charging you right now would be illegal but if you order the next time you will be charged" I'm putting quotes because this what the General Manager just told me. Who is out delivering food and receiving tips. I just spent $70, GM's tip included, on a meal that I ordered at 5:50pm today and we still have to wait because the replacement steak is half cooked! It's 8:10 pm. My overall experience is I'll say 3/4 horrible. My suggestion is to avoid this building at all costs.

My partner and I stumbled upon Colonial Diner a few months ago and we are so happy that we did! I'm a carnivore and she is a vegan and we have yet to find another establishment that compliments the both of our options menu-wise. We absolutely LOVE the menu, the taste of the selections we have tried so far and the wonderful service! Can't say a bad thing about this place. Definitely worth many visits.

Love colonial diner I have been going since I was a kid. It isn t bad but was much better before they remodeled and I guess got new management.

I visited Colonial Diner right after inside dining resumed. Their facility was spotless. They were strictly adhering to social distancing. There was hand sanitizer for the customers to freshen up as well.

It was the first inside dining experience I had since covid began.

I highly suggest this diner for a quick bite. Service was great and food was delicious and generously sized portions.

We had a reservation of 22 people on Monday dec 23 2019 for breakfast, the waitress was awesome! She got everyone's orders right and didn't forget anyone or anything! Third year coming here for our Christmas breakfast and pollyanna!

I was a very fequent customer up until the renovations. This place completely changed for the worse. Prices increased, the menu got smaller, and the staff was beyond uninviting. I'll only order pickup from Colonial anymore and its been very few times. Not recommended.

It's a nice DINER to stop and get a bite to eat or celebrate a birthday. They have a nice bakery selection, other than that it's a NICE DINER

Fast courteous service by our server Elif. They have tasty vegan food options and we have tried at least half of them. Definitely one of my favorite diners in the area.

This place is a long held institution and for good reasons. Great food and great selection, not just run-of-the-mill diner food. The staff is also really good at helping out with food allergies, and they have a lot of gluten free options.

Come here every so often with my girlfriend. Food is pretty good and the staff are always nice.

Good food breakfast was served quickly but waitress was not up to par, had to ask for a coffee refill and she never asked if all was ok. Her attention to things could have been better. Suzy was waitress.

Years ago and still even todayin 2019, this Dinner deserves a STAR outside. It's not who, it's about the best darn breakfast in town for miles and miles. Unlimited coffee and for a couple of dollars you walk away saying"I ate to much". Mind you I'm only commenting on breakfast, imagine if I didn't mind being a 44 waist.STILL A 35 Try it, you'll like it.

After taking our order for drinks, our server was gone a really long time and we were getting annoyed. When he came back he explained that there was a really large group order that he had to attend to and apologized for the long wait. The rest of the time was fine, the food was very good and so was the service from that point on. He also comped us our drinks and desserts to make up for the earlier delay which I thought was very nice. We go there frequently and always find that the food is good and the prices reasonable and service is good.

So many choices, good diner food. Lots of vegetarian pics.

Since the new owners took over. The food quality has gone down. They have taken always items that were hits. This new owner appears to be stressing the waitresses out because they are not looking happy anymore. I use to come to this diner all the time but not anymore. You can't treat a old time diner that people grew up on as a banquet facility. These new owners own Lucien's in Berlin. Colonial will be losing if they haven't already lost the older clients they have had for over 20 years.

I love their stuffed flounder and their red velvet pancakes are pretty good also.

We visited the Colonial for the first time in well over a year, maybe close to 2 years. On this visit we had 8 people in our group (we had relatives in town who hadn't been to the diner since the remodel) and we were seated in a nice quiet area in the back. Our server, Justin, was awesome. Very knowledgeable about the menu and specials, patient with our large group and very attentive. By the time we left we were all raving over our delicious meals. From the burger to the chicken croquettes to the egg & spinach pie, every thing was homemade. Overall we were happy with our experience and I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Really impressed with the new management and revitalized decor. The food has been great the last few times we've visited and the staff seems really engaged and focused on customer service.

There's not many diners around anymore that give you a good portion of food for your money it is a nice place to eat and I'm with your friends and family

Wouldn't recommend the biscuits and gravy, service wasn't great but not the worst either

Colonial is a neighborhood staple and I've been going here for 20+ years. I no longer live in Jersey and I miss the diners so much. So when I visit, I always go to Colonial--especially now that they have vegan options, which are so so good.

Excellent food. Friendly service. Sadly too far from home to go to regularly.
