The food is good. It depends on what you order.

Under cooked food not one time but two times !!!
Pumpkin pancakes raw inside, ok to much for the cook to handle. So I went with something even my 11 year old grandson can cook two eggs over medium. I guess not still to much for the kitchen to handle the whites were snotty and even the yolk was still wet. Ok I ll just have coffee well guess what it was BURNT.
NEVER AGAIN !!! Save your money carry a PB and J

Our family used to love Colonial, then it got really gross so we were happy to see it changed hands. We went for breakfast on Father's Day and waited outside forever and missed the manager calling our name. She finally seated us next to the bathrooms, I think because we didn't hear her whispering our name when she shouted other people's names. If you are a regular apparently she treats you well otherwise, not so much. She has been rude both times we've been there recently. Server was great and food wasn't bad but it's very pricey. Don't know if they jack up the prices for the holidays or if they are so high all the time. My sister asked for a second cup of tea and was brought a container of warm water and no bag so she had to reuse the old one. Parking is horrendous. I think I'll stick to Seven Stars diner.

Fait at best. I had a cheesesteak here, serves me right when I am 10 minutes from Philly. If you are heading here for a late night cocktail and a quick bite keep looking. The bar closes at 10PM and the food is not worth the trip.

Great diner food. Best breakfast in the area. A real local spot. Same folks every morning sitting at the counter. The waitresses know me by name. The food is well prepared to order. I like my home fries well done and they arrive well done! You can tell the food is fresh and not sitting in a warmer all day. Nothing fancy just good food and service.

The food and service was exceptional. Cat our waitress was hospitable. I was in the area as I was getting my car repaired and looked for a local place to eat. I was satisfied with my choice and the next time I am in the area, I will definitely be back.

This is one of my favorite diners. The service is fast and always friendly. Their meals are good and reasonably priced. It is also open late for a quick late night stop. Have eaten here probably over 40 times and have always received good service. There is plenty of parking. They have lots on the side of the building, and also across the small street. I would choose this diner over any of the other local places for food. They do not rush you out like some places do when they are busy. If find yourself in the area, definitely stop in for a bite to eat. You will not regret it.

Ordered a Buffalo Chicken Salad with Mixed Greens because of the scare with Romaine Lettuce.. I was given a salad with nothing but Romaine Lettuce.. the waiter tried to be very accommodating and asked if I would like Iceberg Lettuce instead, I told him that was okay and started to pick apart my salad.. I have to say it was good but not as good as it used to be..

I was refer to this diner when I was at doctor prieto's office from one of the staff members, for a procedure.

I just have to say, WOW! Breakfast was amazing.

The home fries was excellent, my onions we're cooked perfectly, the eggs... perfect! The hotcake (just got one) was delicious. The chocolate German cheesecake was superv! I highly recommended it.

The waitress was very knowledgeable, helpful, fast and friendly.

The diner look nice and clean.

No complaints at all!!!

I'm definitely going back again when I'm in the area :)

As good as any other diner I've been to. Gave it the standard jersey diner test. French onion soup was good but a touch on the salty side. Chicken parm was crunchy and very flavorful with a nice tomato.sauce. They have a very large vegan menu if that is your persuasion. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices were about what you would expect. I would definitely eat here again.

Very pleasant find! Been a few times and definitely met my expectations for a diner - enormous selection and very consistent. To be clear, it is not a 5 star upscale restaurant, but a 5 star diner. Clean, great service, plenty of seating, meals came at good pace, homemade dessert, inexpensive. Not my thing, but a surprising selection of vegan options available. We go when we don't feel like cooking for a homey feeling meal without breaking the bank.

Hadn t been for years then a friend sent a newspaper clipping about vegan places in NJ / we were surprised to see Colonial Diner - but we went tonight and I have to say the food is amazing! We had the poutine for apps, then vegan tacos and the cheesesteakless hoagie. They come with vegan soup and dessert too! Their bread basket is delicious (vegan) and the portions are huge! Our server Brittany (I hope I got that right - blonde hair) was very personable and did a great job. Service was amazing and the food was beyond my expectations. We definitely found our new favorite veg spot - can t wait to come back and try everything!

Took a SINGULAR bite of my girlfriends scrapple and they charged me $2 for "open food". They also made her keep her bottle of water at the counter, because it "could have been vodka". Ever since they remodeled the place, they wanna act like this high quality establishment, when in reality they're a mediocre diner from Woodbury and half the staff are on drugs.

Always

Very impressed! Didnt expect the interior as beautiful as it was from the outside...not that I thought it would be a dive, just didnt expect how beautifully set up it was....our waitress was awesome and the food was excellent.
Was my 1st time there and there will be more times I'll visit.
Cheesesteak Omelet is what I had, my wife had chicken and waffle.

It's a diner that doesn't smell like a diner. No heavy smells of grease or dirtiness. On a busy Saturday morning we were seated right away and attended right away. Eggs and omelet came out in what seemed like 5 minutes. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous.

Tired of driving to Philly for legit vegan food? Colonial has the vegan in your group covered! Huge diner menu plus a vegan menu including vegan specials. I eat there weekly with my large family. They all love the diner specialties. Breakfast lunch and dinner. I get to eat my vegan food as well. Portions are large, service is great, and this diner is immaculate. My favorite, oh and they have a liquor license! Enjoy
