Comes across like a (nicer) diner, in the diner capital of the world; the vegan options are fantastic. I've had half of what they offer and don't have a complaint. Even have veg condiments like sour cream and mayo.

I am reviewing the vegan menu and service:

Let's just say being vegan in south Jersey isn't always easy but this place delivers. It is one thing to have a few items on a menu that are bland but this place has a full vegan menu with impressive flavors. I have tried the quesadillas, burger, gyro and a few soups and YUM.

The server Brandon was also so sweet and attentive.

My parents ordered off the non vegan menu and they loved what they got and were huge portions.

Overall, I will be back and highly recommend.

Always friendly staff. I typically order and then pick up. My order is always ready when I arrive. Place is usually busy but accommodating. The new renovations make it feel cozy and inviting.

Ordered a salad told them no bacon salad comes with bacon so I said something they take the salad back and just pick through it to remove the bacon instead of just making a new salad. Just nasty.

Great!

The only diner in the area with a special vegan./vegetarian menu section. Every item has been delicious! When choosing off the regular menu, I like to substitute onion rings for fries. The onion rings are large, crispy, and you can really taste the onion inside.

Manager sat at the bar next to 2 tables and openly complained about the illegals he had working in the back that didn't speak any English. Slob should not have a job, let alone be a manager.

In the past I would have told you this was the diner to go to, I don't know what's changed but something has! When we walked in we were seated right away, but it easily took 10 minutes for our server to approach us. I asked for a cup of hot tea to begin. Our food took forever to come out and while we sat I watched the owner make rude comments to any one of his staff he came across. I had to flag down our server to ask for another cup of tea which I was told would cost 5 cents - WTH? 5 cents for another tea bag....um no! The food was lack luster, in fact I brought home more than half and threw it out. Not the place I remember where the food and service were both excellent. We won't be back.

My layered cheese fries sucked. All the cheese wiz was on the bottom barely any bacon on top. Plenty of hard cheese on top to get full off of before u ever notice the wiz :(. Taco bell makes a better chicken quesadilla. Just because its full of food, it doesn't give it flavor, and store bought salsa will never help. On to the calamari... it was the one thing I was craving but didnt want to order from a "diner". It ended up being very good.

Great diner, a surprising, thoughtful vegan bright spot in South Jersey. The vegan menu includes several reimagined classics (gumbo, burgers, cheesesteak, pancakes, chickun parm, tofu green goddess salad). Menu rotates, which is kind of a bummer if a favorite disappears, but there's always something new to try. Service has been consistently good.

Not a good experience. Pancakes were cold ans so were eggs. My husband's french toast was soggy and taste like it was reheated. No plans to return. The waitress also acted like we were bothering her.

I absolutely love colonial diner. I really do, however when i call in a pick up order it's almost as if I'm being rushed off the phone. I know they are busy..but there's no need to rush people off the phone.

When calling to place a curbside pick up the female answers the phone and begins an order only to place you on hold in the middle of your order . Then when you ask for a total your advised to call back, once called back to get details on curbside after placing the order I was advised there is no curbside pick up you must come in to pick up and purchase order. No organization, no customer service skills overall horrible service for pricey average food. Never again stay away at all cost your better off going to Friendly's or county house dinner near by.

Ok so the place looks beautiful since being renovated, the food except the bread pudding was excellent. The bread pudding was odd and seemed to have nuts in it, which I didn't like. Our server was nice. She was new and it takes time, however, she I guess forgot to greet a table and they ended up leaving. I guess the older guy that was there was the owner and don't get me wrong, she did make a mistake, however, he berated her in the front of the house and I didn't like it because I heard it. When you have a concern with your staff take it to the back of the house, not out where guests are. Treat your staff with respect and discipline away from your guests. I am not sure we will return.

Ivy, a manager apparently took my plate before I was finished, I took 2 bites of my chicken. Didn t ask if I even wanted a box, just took it. Other manager ( weird old man with the huntchback ) came out and had a major attitude, didn t even try to help the situation, only asked what can I do for the future? How about you don t worry about the future and worry about how you can get me my damn meal back! I can tell you though however, my family and I will not be back in the future, though I know those two don t care about losing customers as they were snickering about us as we walked out. Only thing good about that place is the wonderful waitress Jennifer who was so sweet and helpful. She deserves the biggest raise because apparently on top of waitressing, she s cleaning up the messes of 2 ingnorant adult children that can t clean up their own messes. The chicken was also nasty. Just saying.
