Very friendly and welcoming staff. The Peacock room is amazing. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Some of the funiture is a little worn but goes with the ambience.

I would definitely recommend this hotel! Service and staff were faultless. The hotel grand and luxurious with a great location. The gym was better than most hotel gyms with complimentary pool, sauna and steam room use (can t comment on these as didn t use these).
Wish the ladies room was on the same floor as the dinner dance
The room was not really 5 star clean, not even 4 star. A lot of broken things around the room, for example 2 lamps in the bathroom etc. The bed was comfy. Very good breakfast thou.
Beautiful place but the food was kinda bad. Service was good though.
Bed was very firm. Shower needed some repairs but he location was great!
I had a very pleasant experience with the exceptional customer service received by one Olivia!
It is really good, enjoyed our stay so far. Lovely staff and a fantastic room.
Upmarket hotel. Good location for shopping. Excellent view of the castle.
Fantastic building, and the location is great, walking distance to the grass market, Edinburgh castle and a number of gardens or other spots of interest to tourists. We mostly ate at cafes in the immediate area just to get out and about so we didn't try the restaurant though it looked just fine. Room was modern and nice if a bit small though that could just be a matter of what we booked. It's meant to be more upscale I think as the price would indicate so being on vacation and showing up in shorts we looked a bit out of place.
Nice hotel, great position, the Peacock Alley is amazing, but the hotel is dirty! The rooms are dirty, on the floors is smells like public toilet and sometimes like kitchen! The housekeeping is extremely bad! We had to call 5 times to get the towels that they forgot to bring after cleaning! First room we had to change it because it was incredible dirty! The concierge very lasy and unorganized! The doorbell has been asked to empty the ashtray from the wall, it was full and he said is not his responsibility, i should ask that to the concierge! To get to the pool you have to walk through the renovation area, meet all the workers, who were very polite, nothing to say, but i have seen guests actually living in that area of the hotel! It is sad because the hotel is really nice! The view is also amazing!
Terrible and unprofessional in regards to event planning and hosting. Really disappointing.
If you want to treat yourself this is a great place for Afternoon tea. Good variety of teas, sandwiches and cakes and they are happy to substitute if you don't like something. Surroundings were beautiful and there was a harpist playing in the background xx
Xmas decorations are exellent nice place for a drink
Excellent hotel in a very central location just top of Princess Street. Large rooms, plenty and very attentive staff + all facilities you could dream of.
Lovely old hotel with nice rooms and a very nice lounge bar area.
Lovely hotel in the heart of Edinburgh. The staff is very welcoming. This photo is the castle view from our room.
Brilliant hotel with a very classical vibe. The breakfast selection is excellent and the two in house restaurants Pompadour and Galvin Brassiere are superb. The hotel rooms are spacious and there is also a spa, gym, pool, steam room and sauna.
Lovely historical hotel, I attended a industry conference, the rooms were beautifully decorated and the service was excellent.
The afternoon tea was lovely and the staff where very friendly and looked after all there customers
Location. Easy access to and from the airport using public transport. Quiet.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. Does not deserve to be associated with the "Waldorf Astoria" name. Never stay here or else you will leave sick and disgusted. It will ruin your trip.
A perfect venue for a wedding. The staff were so attentive, Sarah the wedding planner couldn't have done more for us.
The professionalism and care shown to us made for a magical day.
Arrived today .
First impression- awful room, poky, supposed to be a Queen Room.
Corridors paint scuff marks all along corridors.
Very cold.
Dismal
Nice hotel in good location. Staff were friendly and view of the castle was appreciated. Room given was small but it was an upgrade from the DoubleTree Hilton which had given away my room!
Grand and Beautiful. Well worth a visit for lunch. Dining area and bar well decorated and very airy
I considered it a privilege to stay here on my last night in Edinburgh. The location is great and depending on the location of your room you will have incredible views of the castle! The restaurant (or bar area) was very interesting, alot of pictures of celebrities who have stayed there over the years. Would certainly stay again. My only criticism would be that there is a bit of old school "stuffiness" in the atmosphere.
Initially we were given a room so far away, took around 8mins to walk there! Then once we saw out room, it was pleasently decorated, but very small, there want much room to move around the bed. Also the bed was very squeaky, so we asked if we could move rooms. The reception staff were lovely and managed to move us to a same grade room. We couldn't believe the difference, the new room was huge, lovely. Such a difference. The hotel is lovely and the bar area really feels like and old fashioned railway hotel.
I had to move from my initial room as the air con didn't seem to work and the room certainly needed some maintenance. The staff were very nice and moved me to a room where the air con worked and the room appeared in a much better condition. I was disappointed that I was put in a room that was clearly below pass to start of with but was happy with the response when I brought it to their attention. Fitness services very good and location was great with fantastic view of the castle
We were having the most spectacular time, loved our room. Now we have been asked to move due to a plumbing problem. Our new room is much smaller and very noisy and a hideously small bathroom. So disappointed. My birthday present was a couple of nights away from the kids and it has been ruined
A tale of two hotels. If you book a "Castle View" premium room, you should temper your expectations. Apparently a room that could easily have been found in a Hampton Inn where the air conditioning doesn't work and the "view" of the castle is through a 8" wide "window", is a "premium" room.
If however you book a suite, you'll be treated to a really nice space with all of the luxury that you'd expect from the Waldorf brand. I shouldn't have had to complain to management to get this experience.
Nice hotel with excellent service. Delicious food. Excellent sports facilities with swimming pool
Very nice hotel, marble everywhere in entrance, nice coffee area and decent for small conference functions. Food was decent as well
This fantastic building used to be s railway station so you have huge halls and spaces. I was just meeting with a friend so didn't partake of any of the refreshments but the ambience was very relaxing.
Went for a meal and really enjoyed it. Would definitely go again.
Had afternoon tea here. Great selection of teas, and a lot of food (too much to finish!) for the price. Do not have lunch before coming!
Beautiful luxurious hotel. Very friendly staff. Amazing views of the castle. Central to all tourist attraction. Even met a celebrity whilst staying there. Stayed two night will definitely be back.
Great location opposite the castle and next to Princes Street. All the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. Attended a conference and meeting room could have had better acoustics. Feedback from mics.
Excellent from start to finish, staff couldn't have been nicer, hotel has coped very well with the covid changes. My favourite hotel in Edinburgh by far.
An older hotel, but a great service, the rooms a bit cold in the winter and yet with a view of the castle a great hotel. Breakfast ok, but the price performance ratio, modest.
Our daughter with a family had rented an apartment near the castle and was definitely served as we were.
Our next visit will be in June and this time we will go to the Ballmoral Hotel, will report again!
But Edinburgh / Scotland is always worth a visit, no matter where you are staying!
Rather disappointing stay. Initial room a deluxe double..... Only able to get round one side of the bed. Unfinished paint work. Fittings falling from ceiling. Complained and moved for second night. Second night room better.....but some similar issues. Overall not worth the money..... Stay at the Sheraton
I've never had the pleasure of staying here, but I have visited Peacock Alley Bar within the hotel and been at the hotel for various weddings. A great place, great food and attentive staff.
Had dinner in the Pompadour Room with my family. The food was excellent! We tasted blends of flavors that were just heavenly. Since it was my husband s birthday, i wanted something special and it definitely was. The staff was professional and helpful. The room itself was lovely, classy and memorable.
Amazing in every way. I forgot to take my cufflinks and they mobilised an army of staff to find me some before I had to go to the ball! Above and beyond is an understatement.
The Waldorf is in an amazing location with everything you'd expect from the Waldorf name.
Nice ambience slow service tea was just ok. Price and service don't really match.
A place steeped in history, elegant and friendly! Very good cocktail!
The restaurant, a nice place, attentive and competent staff. Creative plates, quality, generous cuisine
Fantastic hotel, have the full luxury authentic Edinburgh experience. Unforgettable and unique
Nice place and staff. But no hot water in my room. And a duff TV remote.
I would throw a party and I would invite all my friends and foes alike
Worst stay at a Waldorf hotel ever!
Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else.
Great Location, Good view of Edinburgh Castle from room .
The best hotel experience in Edinburgh. Excellent staff throughout. Personal service. Cannot go wrong with this Hilton owned, premier brand.
Disappointing visit yesterday after a 20 minute wait to be served ,ordered a latte another 15min wait is this really five star service ?
Great views with huge rooms! Bigger than my apt hotel rooms. Gym was top notch. Food in the am was really good.
The Caley Bar used to be a place I'd avoid at all cost. But walking past after a delicious meal at Galvin Brasserie next door, we peered in and thought to give it a go. I'm glad we did.
I felt like we'd walked onto the set of Mad Men. The bar has been completely refurbished with a cool 60s vibe, vintage style furniture and photos of Jean Shrimpton et al on the walls. Table service was in place, even on a Saturday night and they make a mean Manhattan.
Amazing afternoon tea, great gluten free options and wonderful staff
Neat & friendly service. Well located near the Edinburgh castle.
Very highly recommended luxurious in every way staff were outstanding
My daughter and son in law,got myself and my partner a one night stay at the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh on the 13th January 2018,both of us live in Scotland, but being able to stay the night means we don t have to vacate the city early, On our arrival at the Waldorf Astoria,we were met with a lot of hellos from staff in the foyer,on reaching the reception a smiling face met us and after booking in we were told that our room was ready, one and a half hours early, the room we were given was very spacious, the bed very cosy, after a great evening around Edinburgh,we had a very comfortable sleep, breakfast the next morning was wonderful, anything you wanted, full Scottish, continental, anything,on leaving we were bid a safe onward journey, thank you Waldorf
One of the best hotels in Edinburgh, upmarket at a cost.
Excellent service and great facilities, thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Waldorf Astoria
Excellent stay! Rooms were comfortable and clean, bathroom was excellent. Staff were very kind and generous, giving us a free upgrade! Spa facilities are great, especially the sauna and steam room. Great location and great experience.
Attentative service, facilities a bit outdated but that adds to the charm. Unique place with an outstanding location.
Excellent High Tea. Very good quality food and excellent service
Service very poor, breakfast a disaster, they charge you 10% service charge and you serve yourself....eat at Ryan's over the road.
