Excellent staff! Always friendly and helpful. Many thanks to Thomas and from Concierge advices, personal and professional help. The person you can always count on is porter Malcolm, always enthusiastic to assist all the gusts, friendly and professional. Thanks to people like that you feel at home when you visit Waldorf Astoria!

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days last week. although our room was disappointing because it was dark and had an internal view, we had a lovely stay. The breakfasts were excellent and we were very well looked after by the staff and especially Kris who made us feel very welcome, he is a real credit to the Waldorf. Having said that all the staff were friendly and very professional without being stuffy .

The staff at The Caledonian are second to none. My wife and I had the pleasure of celebrating our 20th anniversary here, and each member of staff went out of their way to make it a special celebration. A special thank you goes to Olivia and Danny in concierge, and Elliot in the Peacock Alley. Thanks to all, it was simply wonderful!

Staying here really made our mum and daughters trip to Edinburgh. It's centrally located. You can get the city tour bus at te bus stop across the road. This takes you all around the city for just 10 pounds. The staff at the hotel are the friendliest and most helpful team I have ever met on a city break. They can't do enough for you. Our room was beautifully decorated. Spotlessly clean. Coffee machine etc. It was on the 5th floor. I will definitely recommend this hotel and will return. Definitately recommend a coffee or afternoon tea in the peacock alley to soak up the atmosphere.

Fantastic hotel! Beautiful inside, staff were very friendly and it was located very central. The rooms were spacious and clean with great views of the castle. The bathroom was also very spacious and modern. The best thing about the hotel was the location, it's a short walk to all the shops and bars etc and a short walk to the castle (the castle is pretty much on its doorstep). Brilliant for any travellers or locals.

Very special experience.

Very special experience.
Staff were faultless, rooms clean and comfortable; and our view, to die for.
Food was out of this world. Taste, variety and quantity perfect.
We had an aromatherapy treatment then used the pool and sauna = perfection.
Only problem was the noise on the streets all night.

Nothing really to dislike here - it was a quick stay on business. 5* is probably stretching the definition a little as the hotel is old and borderline a little run down. Nonetheless centrally located, quite a fair price, decent breakfast, typical hilton room inside

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea

Having been to the Dorchester darling I know my fancy afternoon teas! I have to say that I was really impressed with our tower of goodies. The sandwiches were good but could maybe be a bit more exciting than you plain ham, beef, salmon and egg options. The main event is the cake for me and my what a lot of cake there was. It included two types of scones, and opera cake, battenburgs, eclairs, a pecan one, fruit tarts and more... soo full! They also bring you cake boxes for if like us you are defeated by the cake selection.

The Champagne also was really nice and a must for any afternoon tea, it just isnt the same without a glass or two of bubbles on the side.

The staff were also lovely and coped well with the 12 of us ladies moving chairs, placing shopping in their way and paying no attention to what we were doing. We were sat in Peacock Alley which apparently used to be an old train station and has now been brought in to part of the hotel. The space is really lovely and airy with lots of space to relax and enjoy yourself.

The Hotel

We were invited with work for a show round of the hotel and I have to say the bedrooms were some of the nicest and roomiest I have been in. I love hotel rooms and find staying in hotels very exciting much to my boyfriend's amusement every time we go away as I inspect the bathrooms and try the tea trays and soaps. What I love about the Calley is that is still retains so many of the lovely old features and beautiful furniture but has all the modern touches and tech that you are used to these days.

The views from the suites are something else - the price tag is too unfortunately but you have a perfect view of Princes Street, the Gardens and the Castle. It really is breathtakingly beautiful and I could just imagine sitting with your champagne watching the sun go down in the huge plush armchair... sigh!

This is a gorgeous hotel in the center of Edinburgh with amazing views overlooking the Old castle. The hotel is steeped in history, but the rooms are nicely appointed with modern amenities.

The doorman, front desk staff, concierge and bellman are top notch and on their game, but the restaurants must not need customers and the breakfast staff is completely insufficient, understaffed and bordering on incompetent. Overall, the service is not just bad, but terrible and most definitely not what one expects at a Waldorf property.

This hotel is like coming home: you would never think being in a HILTON: very attentive staff, beautifully clean, professional cosmetics, soft bedsheets and bathroom towels. The best place to stay in Edinburgh

A quick stay for a training conference (alas, so short!) - has a fantastic castle view and probably the best hotel breakfast I can remember having! The smoked salmon was perfect and the banana pancakes special was rich and sweet - quite a way to start the day!

The hotel is very nice overall, the bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. I hope I have an opportunity to stay here again soon, for longer than a night.

Best hotel I ve been to! Went here for a lovely Christmas break with my Mrs. Staff were fantastic and the rooms were lovely too. Great location and there was what I can only describe as the best smelling air freshener coming from all areas.
Small touches like this made it wonderful.

I would just like to express my gratitude to all members of staff that my girlfriend and I encountered this weekend.

I booked two nights at the Waldorf for my 1 year anniversary with my girlfriend and before I had even arrived, the team at the hotel had already been in contact with me to ensure we arrived safely.

At check in, we were greeted by a lovely employee who made us feel very special and wished us well on our anniversary and kindly made us aware of an upgrade we had received. Once we got into our stunning room, we received a lovely anniversary gift and a wonderful view of the Castle.

We ended our trip with a great breakfast in the hotel restaurant and a fantastic afternoon tea. At the afternoon tea we were served by various employees - all of which made us feel very special, remembering that it was our anniversary and providing us with a very personal service. The afternoon tea was just fantastic. The staff, including the chef, ensured we were enjoying our meal and engaged with us frequently. (Socially distanced of course)

I m a loyal member of the Hilton Honors programme and receiving such a great service reminds me why I continue to frequent Hilton Group hotels. I look forward to the next opportunity me and my girlfriend have to stay in this amazing hotel.

Thanks,

Adam

Amazing hotel with huge rooms and very friendly staff. A family of four can fit in very nicely without stepping into each other. Location is perfect right smack on Prince's Street with a beautiful view of Edinburgh Castle.

Nice hotel with a great location near the castle and in the heart of downtown Edinburgh. Service was great. Amazing shower and comfortable bed, but the walk to the room was fairly long. Still, I recommend this hotel to anyone seeking premium accomodations in Edinburgh.

I was very pleased to get a voucher for afternoon tea for my birthday

How chic that we have a Waldorf Astoria here in Edinburgh! They have made a grand job of the refurbishment and it has a really nice feel about it. We were seated in a half booth style seat in Peacock Alley ready for an afternoon of pampering and indulgence.

We were allocated our waitress for the afternoon and I have to say that she was trained at the Basel Faulty school of hospitality. It was so bad that we got the giggles! The waitress took our tea order then came back thirty seconds later to check it again then came back with the wrong tea. Also was telling us how wrecked she was and should really go home ad just stumbled about the place generally, very funny.

Anyway, Basel aside, the afternoon tea was delicious and really nice atmosphere, great decor and highly recommended.

My kind of way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon.

Amazing hotel, possibly one of the best we ve ever stayed in. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, we felt really welcomed. Had an upgrade to room 302 which overlooks the castle and it s a view we will never forget. Just needed more time in this wonderful city so we will be back. Thanks again :)

We spent a long weekend there with 3 children.

We spent a long weekend there with 3 children.
The staff was very friendly, helpful and nice. Very nice wellness area, whereby the fitness center / swimming pool is also used as a public club.

The rooms do not correspond to a 5 star standard: the bathroom tiles are damaged, painted over the light switch, paint is bursting from the wall, the carpeting in the hotel is visibly peeling off in many places (elevator etc ...) The bathroom was unfortunately not easy to heat, towel radiator too small. The underbed was unfortunately also provided with a strange blood stain.
There is a children's menu in the room, which is subject to a surcharge for consumption in the room, but none of the 3 hotel restaurants offer these menus, which is a shame.

All in all, the location of the hotel is ideal. S-Bahn to the airport, bus tours, sights are very easy to reach. It couldn't be better. But the quality is unfortunately not the price you pay for a room there.

Expensive, super upscale but a wonderful place to stay while in Edinburgh. The staff is friendly and efficient, the rooms are small but that is the norm in this region and they are quite clean. The location is wonderful and close to everything. A great place to stay if you can afford it.

Very central location. Service is friendly and efficient. The inside of the hotel is slightly dated looking, especially the corridors. I had a king deluxe room which was a good size. Disappointed by the water pressure in the rooms though.
