Nice hotel and very well located. The swimming pool is also very nice. The design of the rooms is a bit already old and they should make some renovations. Another thing to notice there was a weird smell in the kitchen area during our stay for all the 5 days.
I stayed one night during a meeting and what a disappointment. this hotel is not worthy of a 4 star. old paint, noisy room, leaking showerhead, air conditioning failed replaced by an air conditioning with a big pipe coming out the window. impossible to sleep with this noise! the little extra: the pool was empty! and we did not know it!
Expected hotel. It was the first hotel to have air conditioners broken in the summer, visiting Paris two or three times a year. I have installed a portable air conditioner in my room, but it works only when I open the window, so I open the window for 3 nights and 4 days, and I am suffering from an ant bite.
The staff was so kind and friendly except for the female staff at check-in. I think that employee needs to be educated again.
I need to go back to Paris next April, but I don't think I can make a reservation at this hotel.
Very nice hotel opposite the Tuileries Gardens. The staff and the setting are beautiful, the meals are very good
Difficult to access by car to park
Aside from the turn to get to my room, the setting is nice and the spa
Very beautiful decorations. Spa one step below the last ones I could do.
Location is great, room is not so great.
Cons
Wifi is very poor.
The shower either burns you or freezes you.
Carpet is old and stained in parts.
Bed creaks and sounds like old springs.
Linen is scratchy.
Shower pressure isn t amazing. Even when you change the pressure on the head.
Pros
The staff are very, very lovely.
Pool is great.
Location is wonderful.
Angelina and laduree are walking distance.
Park across the road is wonderful!
If you want a great location- book.
If you want lush linens and the little things listed above, don t book.
I could not sleep for two nights while staying at the hotel, thanks to the paper thin walls I could hear people having sex until 4 in the morning and another guest snoring the whole night another day.
I did not complaint because I don't think anything could've been done, and the guests are not guilty of just using their rooms.
Care consisting of a 1h passage to the Deep Nature Spa and access to the hammam and pool. Moment of relaxation very pleasant to two, I advise :)
Very comfortable clean and accomodating hotel in a great location. The staff are very friendly and helpful. WiFi can be a little slow and I'm not sure if it was just me but the hotel room door that I had didn't seem to close very well so I constantly had to double check when leaving the room. Nonetheless, this is great place to stay while in Paris.
A historic place a stable and professional team an excellent location
Location Location Location Excellent hotel for comfort, location and service. We stay here every time we are in Paris.
I recommend the Spa at this hotel. Excellent benefits.
A magical place steeped in history!
It was here that the Marquis de La Fayette met Queen Marie-Antoinette before embarking for America ...
They did not have the room ready by 3pm, even though we initially checked our bags in at 8am. The carpet in the room has multiple stains. Deceiving pictures. Would not stay here again. Much better hotels in Paris.
I waited better for the restaurant of a 4 stars ... I would have liked a menu that stimulates my taste buds among others, I had to fall back on dishes that were all good but it was not my goal. I came for the menu ...
Everything very good, really good location. The rooms a bit small and noise on the outside.
Very clean and nice bathroom
We chose the childhood ride, which included a massage and a gourmet bath,
Super massage at the top the masseuses very attentive brilliant !!! However, concerning the gourmet bath, on the voucher it was noted champagne, we had mango juice, the water temperator was at least 50 degrees, my legs have doubled in size, we took 10min to enter the water. After this complicated start we wanted to try the Jaccuzi bubbles ... which worked for 2min out of the 30 ... the heat was so oppressive that we had to leave the door to the room open, which cost us a great deal. unpleasant from a masseuse who asked us to stop talking ... in short for 250 euros, I would have liked a little more quality ....
Very well located! Its an old building wich needs some kind of refreshment speaking of interior! Still very characteristic and a very
good spa & wellness! We had a room with view over tuileries garden, wich is was very nice!
Nice hotel, didn't expect much when I booked it on Expedia my stay exceeded expectations. P.S. no shuttle to airport as listed in Expedia, instead they offer to arrange car service
Well turned out, clean, good sized rooms, with a decent restaurant. Very good fitness facilities with an excellent pool for a hotel. However, the biggest plus is the location of the hotel which make it perfect for getting around Paris.
1. Location and facilities
The location was good because the Louvre and Orsay were close, and the Korean or Japanese restaurants were close. However, the facilities are old and there is a swimming pool, but only 5 years of age or older can use it. Soundproofing is not good, so you can hear the sound of the corridor in the next room. In particular, the room next to it seems to have been a place for employees to rest, but even at 1 p.m., there were two times when I woke up due to a loud sound.
2. Staff, convenience, etc.
There are some friendly staff, but overall it's not unfriendly, but I can't say it's kind. Especially room service
One of the staff is very unfriendly. I used up all the cups and asked for more, but even though we were 4 people and only had two cups filled, the next day still had two. It says refill once a day at all, but it was the first hotel I've stayed so far with this limitation.
3. General review
If it's a family trip, it's light. I won't stay at this hotel even if I visit Paris next time.
located perfectly on Rue de Rivolli, very big family room, comfortable and clean
Elegant environment, comfortable, close to Paris attractions
Great hotel a little pricey, but close to many name brand stores in Paris, walking distance to the louve
Excellent experience. Would stay again if we return to Paris
Good however walls are pretty thing. Great location though!
The room was nice, spacious and very clean. The concierges were wonderful. I wish I had know the hotel was not owned by Christians--I was looking forward to seeing it decorated for Christmas.
Everything about our stay was perfect. I booked our room at the Saint James Albany for my best friend s birthday trip to Paris. The location was close to everything we wanted to see, and the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and very patient as I practiced speaking the French I have been studying. The breakfast was delicious and the room was immaculate. This was our first trip to Paris, and we can t wait to come back and stay at the Saint James Albany Hotel and Spa again.
I had the memory of a Parisian palace during a stay away. Either I embellished my memory, or the St James fell very low in the bottom of the 4 *. Room ok but maintenance and cleaning below the standard. Just limit service at the bar and intern concierge. No thanks and especially not see you soon.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Spa was a nice plus. Minor remarks: No sockets in the bathroom and had to pay 400 euros in cash as deposit for the minibar (which only had drinks worth 200 euros)
We spent an afternoon at the spa. The facilities are decent, the pool is nice, there is a shower in the changing rooms.
I have found the fact that we reuse flip flops already used by other people even if they are cleaned.
Good quality towels and bathrobe. I liked the marine body cream: very moisturizing and smells great.
We used the hammam: it is very good. A good size although there were only 2 of us using it. Not sure if it's enough if there are more people. Regarding the rest room and the herbal tea room it was good. Quiet and comfortable. Some snacks (almonds raisins and banana chips), two herbal teas and water. All this at will. We had booked a massage. This is ultimately where the bottom hurts the most: it was certainly good, but disappointing all the same. The atmosphere in the massage room was not polished enough. The therapists for me were not "competent" enough in terms of massages. It was okay but that's it. And that did not last the 50 minutes planned and paid. It wasn't bad or bad but it was okay any more.
I came to test the spa and I was very disappointed, a swimming lesson with a child in the spa pool, unheard of! When you paid to relax it is not to have a yard next to you like at the municipal swimming pool. Very unfortunate because the place is quite nice ..
Very average hotel at a 5 Star price. Was recommended by an acquaintance because of its location. Rooms are very average. Staff is perfunctory but not overly cordial. Staff came into my room on two occasions without announcing themselves. Restaurant and Bar very below average. Although this hotel is priced the same as the Sofitel a few blocks away. Just know that to get good location at this price you will sacrifice many other amenities. I have stayed at other hotels in Paris for less price and better experience .
Very relaxing massage atmosphere and frame adapted to care but a little too small pool
destination favorite in Paris, the most important indoor pool rue de rivoli. The least, recurring air problems. Irreproachable service.
Great location of the hotel... and that's the main positive point
The room and some communal area are not at the standard for a 4stars hotel
Beautiful Hotel, Friendly and helpful staff...Great Food.
I stayed here many years ago and I feel like this hotel is not as good as it use to be.
We have been staying three days due to our honeymoon celebration with my husband, the hostel service is pretty good, location is amazing although less the transportation strike! Thank you for the young man Antonio who was in charge of our welcome and never get bored from answering and guiding us about the hotel & city!! See you in august.
Friendly address to go for a cocktail with friends!
Beautiful terraces / courtyards for lunch or dinner in good weather.
A gift made by my children for a spa to two. The massage duo very pleasant (very professional and customized)
On the other hand disappointed of the bath with strawberry and sweets. ... A bath with strawberry, we are always looking for strawberry and for a price nevertheless stingy on sweets and no strawberries tagada on the horizon.
We booked early, so we got a good price for our Paris week. A big plus is definitely the location of the hotel right next to the Louvre. It is very fast in the gardens, at the Opera and the Champs Elysee. To the Eiffel Tower about 4km. The rooms are big but old and with ours one or the other handcrafted handle could not hurt. The bed was very good, but you can hear the direct neighbors a bit through the walls.
We enjoyed our stay very much.
Plus: upgraded upon arrival.
The least: the sound of the room above.
Location is the only good thing this hotel has. Service not good at all. We arrived at the time the room was suposed to be ready and they took 2 hours to let us go in it. Nobody could give us information during that time. No apologies neither compensation for that.
There is not air conditioning on the rooms. BE CAREFUL!!! REALLY HIGH TEMPERATURES CAN BE REACHED DURING SUMMER TIME ON THE ROOMS!!! Mostly if it is a last floor. And many other disappointing moments during the stay...
Staff is really really incredibly rude. We were so suprised how a whole hotel team can be so badly performing on sevice care. Amazing!
Strongly disrecommend this hotel :(
For 50th you can enjoy 2h of spa. The infrastructure of the hotel is sublime. The Spa is very nice especially the tisanerie space .. when there is little person it is the top. The pool would need a makeover because it looks a bit old (peeling paint inside the pool). To redo!
Always a nice hotel to stay at.
Friendly staff
Clean rooms
Good location
WORST HOTEL! I m still in shock this hotel was able to achieve 4 stars. The images of the superior room online were not even close to the small dark smelly attic I was placed in. The hotel was more 1 star standard. From the old brown stained carpets to the paper coffee cups resembled much more of a hostel than a luxurious stay. It was so bad that I forfeited the non- refundable 3 night stay and checked into a hotel down the road. The hotel management were completely rude and unwilling to help. I think it should be illegal to falsely market a hotel online with such selective imagery. Not to mention we bumped into an escort in the elevator. Everything about this stay was awful compared to our expectation.
Room outdated and old, dirty carpet, need a good renovation to merit its 4 stars! Very disappointed compared to the photos ..
Great spa! Super massage and privatized bath romantic nothing to say. We have adored ! The staff just friendly and very attentive. The small minus remains nevertheless the pool area, the deckchairs are not at all comfortable it is a pity for a frame like this!
Good welcome
Room small and deco sad, insulation for the least weak ...
Tiny bathroom and separate wc
Perfect geographical location
Good price, great location, big beds, reasonable spa, BUT I got a room next to the reception and EVERYDAY the maid came in to do my bed despite my constant shouting "do not come in!". Plus, 6 Euros for a water is a little too much.
6th time back to St. James & Albany. Over past 20 years it's been refurbished quit a bit. Mostly good smart changes. One of the few hotels with a grand piano available, although currently lacking a bench. I've heard guests playing Chopin & Rachmaninov pretty well here. Fairly good breakfasts, good bar after 4 PM. On warm days try meals in their courtyard. Very clean, but still showing signs of wear and age. Rooms on courtyards are very quiet. One of the best locations in all of Paris right on Rue de Rivoli across from the Tuileries. Walk to metro station across street. Multiple great restaurants within 5-10 minute walk. Very nice staff. Helpful.
The pool and massage excellent. Great location. I recommend
Beautiful spa, great care, massage very nice & professional.
Excellent attention. The place is very comfortable.
I am currently writing this review while staying in my suite hotel room. Going to start off this review by saying this suite is not sweet. Stained carpets, broken television, and an overall old and unwelcoming atmosphere. The employees here are not helpful or inviting whatsoever and it blows my mind this hotel is able to be rated 4 stars. Yes it is in a great location but extremely overpriced for what they bring to the table.
Very attentive & courteous staff. Excellent Hamman and piscine
Nice establishment, good location, but some points are to improve.
Had a great 6 nite stay ,staff very freindly and in a very good location i would say the best in paris
Satisfied.... Provides what you expect from this level hotels...
Only two electrical outlets (with unstable contacts !) are functioning, but others ( very useful as location - near the bed and working table ) are inactive !
The lamp near the table is not functioning.
Bad smells permanently in the room ( needing to have permanent opening of the window),
- very good location
- nice staff
- breakfast at the displayed level (4 star hotel)
- hotel requiring renovation: the bedroom was old-fashioned, the thin door did not isolate from the corridor (noise from passers-by ...), bathroom to refresh, toilets (separate which is a plus) too small to be able to close the door once inside
of a dilapidated without name .... everything is dusty, nothing has changed since Pompidou .....
Overall is good but would like to see if you can provide more hot foods in breakfast menu. Thanks.
Great hotel with the best location in Paris with only minutes walking distance to Notre Dame and Louvre. All the staff at the hotel provide very good service, they are nice and helpful. The breakfast is good and certainly recommended. Price-wise, Saint James Albany is located in the middle of the tree, but can get good rates if staying at the hotel a little outside the tourist season. Have stayed at this hotel several times and will definitely return.
In short, I enjoyed our stay. The staff is nice, the location is really good (with the majority of the monuments within an hour of walking distance). Our room was clean and room service did a good job during our stay keeping it clean. Car park was rather bad though.
Bad hotel : room service they are not in adjust time they said 20 min and they add 10 min more for SALAD lol
Bed: not comfortable
The high price for nothing
There is hotels better then this hotel with lower price.
Everything is perfect.
Only downsides, the room remained open after maintenance and cleaning, it's a little disturbing.
The drinks were not renewed after maintenance and cleaning.
Otherwise magnificent.
the massage was supposed to last 45min and clearly lasted much less
the requested massage was energetic and the masseuse gave me a classic relaxation massage
I filled out a form at my admission that was not taken into account by the masseuse
Big comfort. Hammam and pool just fabulous. Lovely staff on the other hand the shower in the room that does not fit is awkward to wash. So a good time yeah
An intimate place where you feel privileged, elsewhere, ideal for disconnecting from the frenzy of Paris.
The hot stone treatment is carried out with attention.
A pure moment of relaxation.
I went there for the spa. Clean, neat, relaxing. The massage was a bit regular
Hotel located in Paris Center. 300m from Louvre (one side) and 200m from Paris famouse shopping areas Very nice view for Eifel tower ( it you lucky and for proper room :) ). Service very nice and helpfull. Nice spa on The groups flor. More
