Stayed in a Junior suite with our baby and a balcony overlooking the canal. Staff in restaurant very friendly and accommodating to our child's messy needs. The place is a bit dated, but the main restaurants art nuovo decor is very authentic and attractive. I highly recommend the place.
Very noisy in hotel at night. Poor management of guest noise levels. Street noise is very loud and rooms don't insulate sound from street.

Always nice for some nostalgia. I came here as a small child with parents and grandparents and it has not really changed. Especially nice for an extensive coffee or tea, I think.

Just tried the cafe and didn't stay in the hotel. The cafe is full of character, I don't know why this place is not more famous.
Perfect location .. The atmosphere in the dining room is magical..the most delicious coffee in Amsterdam.
Bathroom too small for my taste, mattresses in beds are not the most comfortable.
Had breakfast here several times. Price is right and the restaurant area is worth a visit just to marvel at the size of it.
Nice hotel in an excellent location. Our room had a lovely view over the canal. The room was large and of a good standard. It was also very quiet at night. The art deco restaurant needs to be seen. One day when we are back in Amsterdam, we shall be staying here again.
Lovely hotel. Very central. No 2 tram from Central station stops more or less outside. Not far to wonder to canals. We were on the main drag, so a little noisey from trams in the morning. Friendly staff. Comfy bed.
Hospitality is fantastic. Breakfast lounge is awesome and satisfies for many hours. Reception is informative and provides secrets that only locals can know. Lighting in the rooms can be overly dark and dim.

Room in good order, pleasant bed, spacious. Nice bathroom. Too bad that the elevator near the room was broken and work started on renovating the nearby rooms from 7.30 am.

Average ,was under construction. At night they lock you out and you have to ring a bell and announce your name and room for entry. Was annoying

Comfy bed, lovely view. Bath is a good size, which has been really handy because we've done a lot of walking! Staff are polite and friendly and (like everyone in Amsterdam) speak excellent English.

On arrival we got a room without a usable balcony (completely full of rubble) offered. Could have waited for another, but wanted to get going in a timely manner with our sightseeing (a discount would have been nice). No indication that the double bed has only one common blanket. The breakfast lasted forever and was very strange (a small piece of string sausage?!?, A small gummy cheese slice, fruit jelly, a tiny, hard thing that should perhaps be a roll, half a slice of raisin bread, a mini micro-cracker), we would at next time do not book. The room otherwise top as well as the location. We parked for 2 / 2 days on the P + R parking lot Bos en Lommeren and then drove in with the GVB tram ... very relaxed. For successful handling it is essential to read the exact P + R / GVB condition (also available on the net) ... otherwise it would have been 28. Amdterdam is always worth a visit!

Beautiful hotel in the middle of Leidseplein from which everything can be reached on foot. Courteous polite and eager hotelkeepers. Nice spacious hotel rooms which are well-kept and clean. We were more than satisfied and will definitely come back here next year on our Amsterdam trip.

What a nice hotel is the Hard Rock Amsterdam American. We enjoyed the extras of the Rock Royalty. Certainly also from the stories of the Rock Royalty manager Michel. Very nice to hear and see the pride of someone who has worked at American for a long time and rightly so. The tour he gave was very special. What is very cool is that the grandeur and history of American and Hard Rock go very well together. Room was top notch. Nice spacious good king-size bed and equipped with everything you initially need. Hard Rock Amsterdam American we will definitely return!

Location very good location, very close to the tram. Hotel staff very concerned. The hotel is warm in winter and the beds are very comfortable. Quite clean hotel.

Right in the center of Amsterdam, on the Leidseplein, is the Amsterdam American hotel. As a small child I already came there with my father and grandmother. It was really a trip. The grandeur and the friendly staff. It is a nice place for high tea. The quality and price are in good proportion to each other. Of course the prices are higher than elsewhere, but you buy a memory. The hotel is an ideal starting point to explore Amsterdam. An important part of the nightlife, the Vondelpark and the major museums are within walking distance.
Super nice building. Good for a business meeting or if you want to quietly enjoy a good coffee or lunch in a nice place.
I had a fantastic weekend, partly because of the stay at the hard rock hotel.
We sat on your terrace where it was good to stay, the service was super. Nice spontaneous woman she was great and invited us to have a cocktail at the bar in the evening that made me. I will not soon forget this weekend ..thanks for that . PS her Name was Sara

Went for a cup of tea after visiting the Theatre next door. Friendly and helful staff. Beautiful interior decorations. It's not cheap but worth the visit.
Unfortunately not myself staying, but my GB uncle. He enjoyed it and luckily I was invited to dinner a few times and that was sublime with a very good server who has a heart for the business!

Very cramped bathroom. Getting a app based taxis are difficult as it can only come to next road as hotel road has no access to taxis.behond street hardly any taxi driver knows.

Hampshjrw Hotel - Amsterdam was a very good and well-kept hotel. The rooms were neat, good layout of rooms. The breakfast was also very tasty. Nice location of the hotel with lots of people. I would definitely go there again! :)

Hotel with good location. The rooms are tiny, the view is as lucky, the level of staff is mediocre. For 19 euros you can take a great breakfast. There are better hotels for this money.

So, we accidentally overturned a vase from our table, spoiling everything, including the mood for guests at adjoining tables. But: service was immediate, none of the personnel made any remarks (only calming and putting us at ease) and in no time it looked as if it never happened! Commendable!
