Terranea Resort Review

I was only there for drinks and dinner. Had drinks at the lobby bar and dinner at Nelson's. The staff is uber friendly. The wait staff at Nelson's was terrific. My only gripe is that they allow customers who are not seated in the outdoor area to come out and take pictures of the ocean our sunset. I specifically requested to be seated on the patio for the view and there were a ton of people who were not dining that were blocking my view while taking their selfies.

Beautiful views can park for free and walk trails there.

Minutes away from LA, sooo worth splurging on a night here. The drive in Palos Verdes itself is enough to decompress you.

I bought a gift card at a shop in the circular driveway.

Amazing manager in the lobby bar. He was a 5 star rating! What a marvelous time every time we go.

This place is AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS and a very nice resort. They have an outdoor wedding location on a point overlooking the water that SERIOUSLY rivals Malibu. I ate a bbq turkey sandwich in their coffee shop that was 5 star. And thats their most casual dining...they have 3 or 4 real restaurants. Their staff was very helpful and friendly not at all stuffy. The Suites are lovely and have a view you could only match in Hawaii. I was there on business, but intend to come back often for pleasure.

Beautiful resort with great amenities. Staff is polite and helpful. You can catch a sunrise and sunset each day. If you want a place to escape, this fills the bill

Beautiful sunset views! There was a chill in the air but the gas lamps and wine by the fire made it enjoyably cozy. Good food..a little pricey for the portions but hey it's a resort. No snobbery if you walk around in casual clothes staff very welcoming.

It's a beautiful resort with a nice hiking trail with spectacular views. Only downside is that the beach at the far end is rocky, but the water is a spectacular turquoise you don't get often in California. The day we went the refreshment bar was closed and it was quite hot. Also would be cool if you could get a drink by the pools but they are for guests only!

We celebrated my birthday with a breakfast at Catalina kitchen. The waitress was super sweet & did not rush us off. A+ service!

Beautiful resort on the ocean. Different pools, restaurants, golf and events make this a diverse and accommodating place to stay.

Absolutely wonderful experience from the time you arrive. Gorgeous views, relaxing sound of the waves. Mary, was our "chaperone" for our whale watching excursion, she was absolutely lovely! Mary pointed out lots of interesting places and facts on the route to our port. We were with a group and she made sure we were all accounted for, we were definitely in great hands! Mary you are a delight! We definitely plan to return.

Beautiful vistas and property. The Bashi restaurant was excellent. Catalina Kitchen serves a family meal on Sunday and limited menu. The only vegetarian was soup and salad and the soup was chicken. Really. 19.00 for a salad and no soup was unappreciated. We had a birthday person told them and no absolutely no recognition of the birthday. I would not recommend this restaurant. Last day meal at Nelson. They were expecting us and seated us outside as requested the service was perky and good. The food was hot and good. We were very pleased here. The check in process was onerous. The only nice touch was the Champaign. The rooms were nicely appointed. I would return to this resort.

The staff were professional, grounds were clean, and fair priced. Will definitely be back again.

This is one of those places that are so Beautiful that you have to check to make sure that you not dreaming.

It's such a beautiful paradise. It's very classy and cozy. The kids make it little loud sometimes but other then that it's nice vibe for drinks, hiking biking

I took my 3 and 4 year old kids there and person at the front said we are allowed to use the pool if we pay for parking then we could use the pool then when got to the pool they said we need to go to the front desk to get a wristband then we went there and they were extremely rude and said I was lying that the person at front never said that at that point I said can I pay any amount to get a pool pass or spa pass so my kids could go swimming and they said no - never coming here again gross

I recently stayed here and absolutely loved the property, cleanliness and food. I also enjoyed all the walking trails by the resort as well as a concern about the local environment. After I left the resort, I left my Championship ring in the room. To my surprise, within a few days I received it in the mail!
A special recognition to "Jem Afusia" for finding the ring even after the new customers were in the room and even taking the time to ship the ring to me. Thank you to Jem and the Terranea Resort.

Nice room. Very beautiful resort. Good trails for walking along the ocean. I love that they have an adult only pool. They don't really have a gift shop, just a clothing store.

Came here for a couple's getaway. The staff at mar'sel were aware and went out of their way to accommodate us. It was a great experience

The absolute worse valet service for a high end resort - it took 42 minutes to get my car and they weren't even busy. I asked the valet desk what is going on, she said 5 more minutes, well her concept of time is well off and she was quite arrogant too. Someone like her should not be dealing with the public, especially guest.

Excellent ocean side resort. Great food, drinks and live entertainment. Staff was great.

Beautiful and expansive property with views and trails with perfectly tailored plant and trees.The hotel is on the side of a hill overlooking the ocean. The vibe is tranquility, and rebooting mind and body.Alot of healthy activities,will keep you active.many people go for the day to walk the trails and visit spa and restaurants. Place is self contained,really no reason to leave the premises.

My husband and I spent an afternoon playing golf at Terranea and dining at Nelson's, one of its on-site restaurants. The golf course offers gorgeous ocean views. The course is peaceful and strikes a happy medium between being easygoing and challenging. Our time on the golf course has definitely motivated us to return to Terranea for a weekend staycation.

My husband surprised me with a massage and facial at Tarranea as a gift to pamper me for my return to work after 5 months of caring for our new baby and the end it my maternity leave. It was perfect. There only thing I regret is not going sooner in the day in order to spend more time in the pools, sauna and steam room. Martina, the esthetician, was very personable, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I have trouble skin due to decades of acne and she knew exactly how to care for it, respectfully. I loved the facilities, the service, and the treatments at the Tarranea spa. It's expensive but it's worth every penny.

I've lived in LA 30 years and can't believe I'd never been there. Awesome place to relax, drink, eat, enjoy views and take in some cool clean ocean air. Great date place.

Beautiful views. You can walk around and hang out for free. The cafe was great. The bars are expectedly expensive.

We stopped in to have a bite to eat at Terranea's seaside grill Nelson's. The setting is beautiful and the weather was perfect. There were about 5 hostesses at the front that informed us the wait would be 45 minutes to an hour for a table for 2. We took our chances and quickly found seats at the bar. We did notice that about 1/4 of the tables inside were empty the entire time we were there. Maybe they were short wait staff, but if that was true, they should dump 3 or 4 of their hostesses that were mostly just standing around chatting and hire wait staff. Nelson's is close and convenient for us but I always quickly remember how expensive the place is and remind myself to try to find other places that are more reasonable.

Catalina Kitchen is an excellent restaurant! The food is first class and the atmosphere is super fun! Did not care for the Valet parking having go to the parking to get our car. Mind you there is a fee of $10 This is after validation in the restaurant!!!

The rooms are gorgeous. The view is tremendous. The customer service is great. Everything is clean. I wish the restaurants are open later than 9 during the week. Drinks are very expensive here.

I was here for a wedding and this place is absolutely stunning!! So breathtakingly beautiful. You re surrounded by ocean and the air is so fresh. The service is superb! The rooms are spacious.

Love Nelson's. The ice cream sandwich is the best way to end a day.

Beautiful and relaxing place. I've had the privilege of staying at both a standard room and a suite in the span of 2 years. Great weather, amazing sunrise and sunset, great staff, and an awesome place to be overall whether going on vacation or even just a staycation. I will be back for sure! We had a reservation at Catalina Kitchen, the service was amazing and the new but smaller buffet was also wonderful. They removed some of the stations that made a mess and didn't provide many people with food.

Secluded resort with a beautiful beach and views. Sit by the pool or take a walk along the beach. There is not much else around to do.

Very accommodating! All the staff were very nice. I can't wait to come back for another visit.

Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes is the most beautiful resorts in Southern California. The cliffs are a great place to walk with a great view of Catalina on clear days. If you are holding an event or just want a romantic getaway I recommend Terranea. It is not a good place to stay if you are wanting to see a lot of Los Angeles during your stay though.

Love Nelson's restaurant. Good food, Beautiful views.
