The service is terrible. The attitude of their waiter is awful.
They do have very delicious noodle. But they always have a very long line and be prepared for that. Also, bring cash with you cause they only accept credit card when you spend 25$ or more
Chinese food that is wholly different from what I am used to but excellent. Joint can get busy, but worth the wait.
Great Szechuan flavors and hand pulled noodles. Cozy atmosphere. Check out the Szechuan mian-pi and red chilli oil fish.
Mouth-watering regional Chinese food from Xi'an Province. So unusual and delicious compared to the average "American Chinese" food.
Had a great experience in this place with my kids. The food arrives rapidly and the customer service is just awesome. Prices are affordable.
The dough is delicious, especially the taste is very good. Meat clips
Delicious but not quite worthy of the ridiculous wait it usually has. It s great though if you manage to catch it without a line. I recommend early dinner, in by 6:30pm or so.
This was the first time I've had shianxi Chinese food and I was so impressed by how delicious the dishes are. We ordered the noodles in sizziling oil and cold noodles. I loved how bright the dishes were despite having an oil based sauce. The food was incredibly memorable. I can't wait to return to this place. We got there right at 5:30 and the place filled up quickly. I loved the tofu that came with the cold noodles. It was almost a little bready but still had that tofu spongy texture. So delightful! We ate the food so quickly this was the only picture I got!
I love this family run sushi restaurant. Good food, great local vibe. The type where if you make an appearance often enough they'll remember your usual.
Didn't come in half a year and changed to a chef who cooks Sichuan? Ordered an old bowl of fish like boiled fish with bean sprouts
I don't always leave comment, but had to do this time: I totally disagree with any 'non authentic' comment here.
I lived in Xi'an for more than 20 years and trust me, most of the food here are pretty authentic to me. I can't say they are exactly the same or taste just right, but definitely the best Xi'an food I had in SF.
Amazing noodle! They now still open but no dine in.
I have been to this place for many times and staffs are friendly.
The most worst at all. Never experienced this kind of bad services in SF before.
In the past, the dishes were a little more, and now they are mostly cold dishes and pasta. But the pasta is still quite authentic.
My favorite restaurant in San Francisco. The foods are authentic and tasty with reasonable price. We always stop by here for lunch with kids on our way from San Jose to California Academy of Sciences.
Get the shaanxi mian-pi, biang biang noodles, and some cold appetizers. You can easily spend under $15 per person here if you come with a group and feel satiated!
This restaurant is clean, but the food is not very authentic. There are still a lot of space to improve.
Clean and peaceful. Staff's English isn't great but they're very friendly and helpful.
They are closed until july, but not show on the map
The most authentic zongzi noodles I've ever had in the Bay Area! Although the noodles are different (and delicious), the soup is really hearty. There are also Qishan zongzi noodles and Fufeng zongzi noodles hahaha!
The waiter is very busy and understandably not so enthusiastic. However, some waiters obviously welcome some customers with smiles, and have a stiff attitude towards some customers, and they need to improve their cultivation. Some dishes are well done, and some dishes are of unstable level. If it were not for this waiter, I would give four stars.
Waitress have good manner. Food is delicious. Love the big space. Love the music that they play. Excellent!
SO GOOD! All the hand pulled noodles dishes and spicy salty goodness. A definite fav in the Bay!
Food was mehh....service was mehhh....gave us expired bottle drink from 2018. Wouldn't recommend. Wouldn't go back either.
The dishes are different from other region of the China.
Suggested to the waitress that the table was still dirty and needed to be wipe further. She gave us the towel and left it at the table. Food was okay but had better.
Never tried cuisine from the shaan xi province of China before. House made noodles were like pasta, but with asian and comforting flavors. Three in one biang biang noodles hit the spot. Would definitely go back again for the unique flavors. Place is small, but seems to be quite popular in the sunset district.
Been here several times and the food has yet to disappoint. It is very clean and the service is fast and friendly.
Must visit for the mosr authentic Shaanxi food in the Bay area . Reasonable portion sizes and prizes. May need to wait a little to be seated because it's so popular .
The oil is especially delicious! Meat folder is not bad
If you want to try the original taste of Chinese food, just go there!
Hands down the best Chinese food I ve ever had get the sesame noodles and the spicey veggie noodles I swear i swear
Such good hand pulled noodles and cold dishes! Not your run of the mill Chinese food. The dishes are very authentic.
Loved every dish we ordered. The bathroom is clean and fresh which makes a notable difference.
Cozy place. Delicious food. Reasonable price. Nice service.
So good, but I wish they were open weekday lunches for us tourists!!! Made me really mad to not be able to get biang biang mian, and cold chili vinegar noodles.
One of my top 3 authentic Chinese restaurants in Sunset.
Great Chinese food, and a lot of dishes that are not the standards - reflecting the unique cuisine from Xi'an province.
You should absolutely order some of the hand pulled noodles, they are amazing!!!
Purely rating on the hand-cut noodles which was very tasty. The texture had the right amount of chewiness. The service is good. I saw some other tables order the bao stuffed with meat, we figured out later it was the "hambuger" on the menu. I couldn't figure out what some of the items on the menu is because of the vague description.
They're are surprisingly few good regional chinese cuisines in San Francisco. This is our go-to. Xi'an style foods, which means get anything with lamb, cumin, or pita. Good noodles too. Quality has slipped a bit but still good.
Braised meat sandwich: the taste is normal, not juicy
Stir-fried cabbage: unexpected taste is good
: The taste is very general, the face is not strong, the taste is also normal, it is better to copy the hand with red oil.
Oil copying hand: the best in the field, although not 100% authentic, but very delicious
Awful grease taste and smelly food.. I will say the place look clean and moderm .... 32 years living in the city and try many different places gave me the rights to say that this places has the worst taste that I HAD tried in along time .... Soup broths are made with lamb bones or meats , very smelly ... tried a type of cold noodles with a very greasy orange paste that tasted nasty .... Asian cooking lamb with noodles ? Reason this places has people eating there is cuz there is not other place in about 20 blocks from that hood .... Their costumers are starving students that will eat any thing .... So if you eat with your eyes you may think that this is a good places .... But if you eat with your taste and smell this will be a terrible place for you .... Maybe irving or clement street will have better choice for you .... I will give this place 0 nothing I tried from 4 courses was tasty and I had to hold a napkin in front of my nouse to avoid smelling the grease and lamb smell..
Horrible attitude to consumers!! Do not go! Keep me out, and don t let go inside! Give me a feeling that nobody welcomes you!
I recently came here on a Thursday night with a friend. We were fortunate enough to be seated without a wait. While the restaurant did fill up, it was never overly filled as to require a wait to be seated.
We each ordered a single noodle dish:
Clear Noodle Soup with Sliced Beef: I had a craving for a lighter broth, but love wide noodles. So I confirmed with the staff, who stated with confidence that this was served with wide noodles. When the dish was served, it was with thin noodles instead. I flagged down a staff member (different from the prior one, as she failed to notice multiple attempts to wave her down). The staff member, when he heard about this, stated that the noodle soup is served with thin noodles and not wide. He laughed and said the other staff is new, so she doesn't know her stuff. He was unwilling to replace the noodle, and when I brought up that the staff member had informed me clearly that it would be wide noodles he stated he could replace it but he'd have to charge $3. I couldn't believe the lack of customer respect and service. In terms of the dish itself, it was mediocre in flavor - nothing too impressive between the noodles or the soup broth.
Scrambled egg and tomatoes noodle soup: This had decent noodles, and the wide noodles that I had been hoping for. The broth was decent as well. Definitely a good option for people who are looking for something that isn't spicy.
Overall, the food was mediocre, minus points for the terrible service. It really ruined the overall meal experience, and I was quite upset with the way the staff handled things. I would feel inclined to try other dishes again, but given how terrible the service is I feel quite adverse to returning again.
Several times came over but always closed. Don t think will come back
Hands down the best food I've had! And who can not love the name?
Can t expect more. I like spicy oil noodles a lot here
Good Chinese place in Sunset. The bread soups are great! Appetizers were solid, I had the spicy tofu and the jellyfish, would recommend both!
The big-pane chicken is gone, and half of the soul is lost... the powdery skin is generally good, but the meat is very good, but it is unstable and the meat is used for a long time.
From the production of each piece, it can be seen that the proprietor's intentions are made
shaanxi Chinese food is rare in the US and a real treat at TCW
This is definitely different than most other Chinese restaurants in the city because it doesn't follow the normal Cantonese flavors. The food and service is pretty good. I like it because it adds great variety to the Chinese food already available in the sunset area.
Very authentic Chinese shanxi noodles. The wait is usually long and you need to sign in in the front desk. My friend and I went on a sat night and the wait was about 20min.
Always get the dry duck wanton egg noodles here! Deliciously greasy, rich and filling. Want to try other items but so hard to order anything else. And service is pretty good too!
The best Xi'an cuisine I had in the Bay Area. The place is a local favorite. Had an incredible bowl of spicy stewed noodles and cool sesame cucumbers. Jam packed full of flavor, this is place is a must. Friendly staff and ambiance is wonderful as well.
Great traditional food. The hand made noodles were especially good.
Awesome food in a really contemporary setting. Min order for credit/debit is $25 and there may be a wait.
Spicy and delicious. Awesome service and affordable
Doesn't get anymore authentic than Terra Cotta Warrior. Spice and flavor for days!
Very yummy and uncommon type of Chinese food at a reasonable price.
I knew that this wasn't your usual Chinese food going in but didn't like what we got... The little Chinese burgers we fine but only after ain't done sauce... The noodles were in a relatively greasy soup and there was barely any meat in the dish (Which wasn't tasty anyways)... Nice interior and friendly service but definitely not my taste... If you are in the area and want to try something new go for it but don't have your hopes up too high
Kinda decent Shanxi food, most dishes was great except one cold appertizer which was full of green peppers.
Pretty damn authentic. Even better than Xi'an famous foods in NYC with some dishes.
The food is good, but if you are going here in a party of 2 people, their strategy is to keep you waiting until there is an empty table for two. And they won't consider let you use the large table and just leave it for late large parties with more people, or just leave it empty. There are only 4 tables for 2, so sad.
Went there with Xi'An friends after finishing 2019 SF half marathon. The noodles and bun break into pieces and soak in lamb soup with glass noodles) are really nice and authentic. We order almost every kind of different noodles on the menu. Belt noodle, shaozi noodle and cold skin( left me deepest impression. Meat in pancake ( with either pork belly or lamb is good. The cold dishes are very bad though, definitely not recommended. Will come back to eat belt noodle in the future.
This place is more then 5 Stars.David the owner is really nice guy and me and my wife decided to have are wedding reception hers.We diced because it was the first date were we met.the food was amazing..
Excellent. Had stir-fried cabbage and pork. Also stuffed wonton. Wonton seasoning was delicious. Excellent food and very good service.
Taste pretty good! The belt noodle with lamb I think is better than I ate in Xi'an! And price is reasonable.
We came here for birthday celebration. This restaurant offers impeccable five star service with a romantic ambience. Each food was nicely crafted.
Serve a very northern region of chinese food - lots of spicy selections, meat and noodle focused! Tried 3 of their popular specialties - pita bread soaked in lamb. This was my favorite! It was really a clear lamb noodle soup! The pita bread were broken into little pieces - tasted more like gnocchi, the soup was clear, served with slices of lamb and clear rice noodles. If you are a fan of lamb, must get! The other 2 signature dishes - minced pork soup and Shannxi mian pi had a similar vinegar spicy flavor which I wasn't a fan of but my friend loved them! Shannxi fried noodles were medium noodles with an amazing texture but very spicy!! We also had braised chicken (big plate chicken and literally, it was a huge plate of chicken!) which was also spicy...this dish comes with wide noodles. Chinese burger with pork was ok, the bun was on the dryer side and didn't really go with the filling. Overall good Chinese food. Get there early because it does get busy!
Love this joint. Everything on the menu we have tried has been great. Break out of what you are used to with Chinese food and try something new!
Updated review April 8, 2017. Came here at 1:15p and restaurant closes at 2:30 p. We were literally told to go to another restaurant to get the hot dishes cause the specialize in the noodle and cold dishes. Translation, they don't want to cook those dishes so they can get you out of the restaurant on time. Poor service and management, we waited 15 mins to be seated and if we were told we could only order certain dishes at the time we would have gone somewhere else and not waited. DON'T VISIT THIS ESTABLISHMENT CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME.
I've been here several times. They just reopened under new management. Slightly new menu, but happy they kept my favorites. A little more expensive now, taste is a little different but overall still good. Ordered lamb dumplings with chili sauce, and Braised chicken and potatoes with their hand cut noodles.
Authentic Shaanxi restaurant, the taste is quite authentic! The boss is a Baoji person.
Service was fast but that also apparently means you need to eat fast too. The bill was placed on my table maybe 20 minutes after all the plates arrived and soon after that we were asked to pay and leave although we were not done. This might not be a good place for catching up with friends.
The food was good. This is my first time eating this kind of cuisine so I cannot say how authentic it is. The menu stated that the biang biang noodles would be spicy but they weren't at all. I tasted a lot of red vinegar in the soup.
Very authentic Xi'an food. Many kinds of noodles and they all taste great!
