Exceptional property in the heart of the Scottish countryside. Real welcome by well trained staff coupled with great food and leisure facilities
AN EXPERIENCE EVERYONE SHOULD TRY BEFORE OLD AGE SETS IN A PLEASURE BEYOND COMPARE
Had a spa day. It was so relaxing only slight niggle is that the spa is mostly separated into male and female areas which meant I didn't see alot of my husband during our joint spa day. But maybe that's a good point for some! Also haven't been to many spas so that could be standard practice.
Charging points for electric cars are only for Tesla cars which not a lot of people can afford, poor show
Secret Garden Afternoon Tea which Andrew Fairlie put his name to. What was meant to be a very special birthday afternoon tea turned out to be a comedy of errors. From there being no window seat booked for us as requested to no vegetarian menu and much more in between. Eventually the vegetarian in our party was offered an egg or cheese sandwich. One would expect a little more imagination in an establishment such as Gleneagles, especially as I am sure the 'secret garden' was stocked with wonderful vegetables. Unfortunately the bread was rather crispy on arrival and had to be sent back. A 5* hotel serving stale sandwiches! ! I could go on, suffice to say the whole day was spoiled. Whilst management have been polite and listened, we feel rather brushed aside. After all what is one spoiled birthday to the 5* Gleneagles?
Attended for the Maserati rally and stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is amazing and all the food dishes up was excellent. The only issue I had was the waiting for a table at breakfast. The dining room clearly isn't big enough. The staff were very attentive but then you wouldn't expect anything else.
Top service, very friendly staff and a great spa. Food is really good as well.
Set in beautiful scenery the hotel has the perfect balance of friendly, helpful staff and peacefulness. Delicious food and drink help the stay be a success. Remember to visit the falconry centre.
Beautiful day to walk around the grounds. Relaxed atmosphere.
Fantastic golfing, beautiful landscapes, lovely little touches such as owls and birds of prey in the gardens. Great location for family golfing holidays. Don't like the cheap portrait of the Ryder Cup.
Magnificent building but didn't investigate the interior!
Luxury resort with high class service in enchanting surroundings.
Love this place, been many times stayed in the estate suites and the whisky suite all were pristine, glenmor cottages are stunning. I could go on but all I can say along with the staff its exceptional.love it
The top teir service was only matched by the grounds and facilities.
How quickly you get used to luxury on site like this. They make you feel special and comfortable. Excellent
Elegant, relaxing atmosphere with first class customer service. Amazing breakfast and delicious evening meal in the Strathearn Resturant.
Genuinely 5 star service, from top to bottom. Worth every penny.
Absolutely fabulous place to visit or stay. So much to do and see
Hotel immersed in the greenery of Scotland, with an 18-hole golf course and headquarters of the PGA, equipped with all the comforts and rooms worthy of an English lord.
unforgettable.
Wee confusion about lunch did not seem too organised they say that the kitchain was not expecting the size of the party which was booked for a least 8weeks in advance as a spa package with lunch !!! Was resolved very professionally and we went away happy with a goody bag
Large impressive hotel with excellent facilities and customer service
Superb hotel with fantastic views. Great food and friendly staff.
They know how to look after their guests. Great experience
The place is not what it appears. It looks formal and daunting on approach but once inside it's warm, hospitable, welcoming and very efficient. It's the staff that make it all happen - sure the place is of a grand scale with a luxurious finish - but it's the energy, willingness and culture of the staff that make for the most lasting impression.
what an experience great from start to Finnish. Expensive but who cares
We stopped for lunch. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and professional. Prices were reasonable. Very welcoming environment, despite the luxurious surroundings.
Lovely hotel, old world charm and service with an excellent leisure offering. Superb area for kids, good pool with seperate areas for adults. Falconery and gundogs in the grounds, along with all other country sports presented in an authentic and sincere way.
I use the pool here, occasionally the coffee shop and I have used the playroom which is very good especially for younger children. The pool and changing facilities are clean, up to date, immaculately ordered, staff are courteous and respond very well to to mention of anything that needs attention. I have looked in at the new American bar. It's a classic, enticing design and not casual dress which is a good thing.
Update: July 2017. The terrace outside the century bar was enticing while I waited for the family and you just have to remind yourself that the fiver you'll pay for a tea here includes the peace, the immaculate lawns, the impeccable service, the view...
Beautiful hotel in the midst of stunning scenery. Very luxurious.
Put it this way I wouldn't go as I know what goes on behind the scenes,, cringe.
The food was amazing especially the Lobster, great atmosphere and fantastic staff!
Relaxation fell like a soft cloud around us the minute we were driven in.
I've visited here twice and stayed once and let me tell you this is one of the grandest places I've ever been. The hotel is stunning and the grounds are immaculate. Truly a luxury hotel.
My first time at the estate, I arrived earlier than check in as I had a round booked on the king's course, the staff immediately made us feel welcome and assisted us in accessing the things we needed given we were early for check in and running a little later than desirable for my tee time, once we were at the course we were warmly greeted by the starter, the course is stunning it's a good test and a lovely walk, the halfway house is a welcome break for a golfer somewhat out of practice. After the golf we checked in and explored our room which was a traditionally luxurious hotel room with all the modern touches you would want. We had a late dinner at the birnam brasserie which exceeded my expectations in every way the staff were amazing and the food was on another level. The current circumstances meant that the bars shut early but roomservice were happy to bring a nightcap up to our room which ended a lovely day, we took breakfast in our room it arrived on time and was as lovely as our meal the night prior checking out was quick and easy and we took some time to have a look round the incredible shopping arcade within the hotel once again all the staff were incredible and there was a wide selection of things to choose from, I daresay even over the course of a longer stay there would be no necessity to leave the estate should you choose not to. The subtext of "The glorious playground" is correct.
This is a five star hotel and for many years the only five star hotel in Scotland. Originally a railway hotel it was sold in the early 1980s and after some ownership changes it was acquired by Diageo in 1987. Sold by Diageo in 2015 to Ennismire it is currently undergoing considerable refurbishment
I had a spa day with my 2 ladies yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic.
Elle I would like to thank you for giving me the best full body massage experience, My friend Rena had a male Therapist and she can't stop praising him. Frances thought that her facial was okay as the young lady rushed the experience. Unfortunately for her Frances is the owner of her spa.
I had massage at many high profile spa and always felt as if I have been rub down with oils.
Yes Gleneagles is expensive however the service from all members of staff is very professional in all areas, definitely 1st class.
The only disappointment was our High Tea delivery, we paid for three and got two. Apart from that the environment and my friends was medication to the soul.
Everything about Gleneagles is magical. From the welcome to the final bill and everything in between is terrific. Beautiful setting, championship golf courses. It's just a lovely place
Stunning hotel. Room was lovely and the service was high quality. The breakfast choice was great.
Beautiful place, great staff, just be prepared to spend
Every visit is perfect, kids love it, we love it, grandparents love it. Quite literally something for everybody. Spa, golf, shooting and restaurants without fault. We try other places, but end up back here every time.
Brilliantly refurbished. A dream destination. Weather is always a gamble.
So relaxing, what a hotel just like i remember from Christmas there as a kid.
Great round of golf on the Queens Course. Highly recommend playing a round here.
Very Covid aware. Wonderful scenery. Even during the downpours. The choice, presentation and flavours of the food and teas were excellent. Some things looked too pretty to eat. But they tasted even better. Our chatty waitress mixed our tea order up, which was the only thing not perfect. Not so much of an issue for me as I was drinking Lapsang. My companion was a bit startled though as he was expecting the house blend. We plan to return.
Cleaning there windows what a place if you have the cash it's for you
FABULOUS!!!! Room beautiful, food delicious, wonderful atmosphere. Will be back
Afternoon tea was a lovely experience. Staff friendly and attentive to begin with however we had to ask for plates and knives for our scones after the others had been removed. Hence 3 stats for this upmarket hotel destination
When I die just take me here and don't bother St.Peter!!
Outstanding. Fantastic location, venue, accommodation,. Food quality was fantastic.
Fantastic experience at Gleneagles........as usual!
Afternoon tea was amazing! Food was on point and plenty. Scenery is gorgeous and the staff extremely welcoming!
The Gleneagles is a great hotel set in beautiful grounds. The facilities are second to none, but what makes this hotel standout is its staffs exceptional service and support for guests. Nothing is taken for granted, and they go outnof thier way to make sure guests needs are met, no matter how unusual.
Amazing hotel, excellent service and facilities. All staff efficient and friendly to make you feel at home
