We waited over half an hour for wait staff after being seated by the very person that was waiting on us. We asked for the wait staff several times. The first time, the woman didn t do a thing. She said she would find the person and when one of our party members followed her, she went back to whatever she was doing, not getting the wait staff for us. Forgetful, much? Everyone around us had drinks or food this entire time. How ridiculous. They had a drawing for free dinner and our server didn t take our ballots. Hmm, thanks. Our table ordered several drinks and food and when it came to my turn, I said I was okay but he still insisted there was a two drink minimum. I m pretty sure all the other orders was more than the minimum required. The show was fine, one guy was hilarious but everyone just cursed way too much. This rating is for the venue, I d give the show a 2.5 for the Almost Homeless Tour because the swearing was ridiculous. The content was decent but the cussing made me drop my rating for sure by a whole point.

Most of the comics were funny. A couple were just awkward. A few were just bad :( Couldn't believe the prices for drinks. Waiter talked us into endless sodas, we told him the deal didn't make sense for us but he came back with them anyway. He did adjust the bill at the end which was appreciated. Total for drinks >50$ for three people. Would be an expensive night out even if you had free tickets to the show. 2/5 would not go back.

Just loved my time at the Tempe Improv!!!!!

Just loved my time at the Tempe Improv!!!!!
Location was easy to find. I did have a little bit of a hard time finding parking as they had two shows this night. In adfition, I did have to wait in line before gaining entrance. It was just fine as I enjoyed conversation with my date. The staff were very helpful and made sure my drink was always full. The comedian was amazing!!!!!

Outstanding customer service from Gavin. Its unfortunate that we didn't get a chance to see the comic due to the cancellation of the show. However we received a call and email bout new shows and or getting a refund. Gavin was polite and very informative about the process and future shows. I'll defiantly look out for future shows i'd like my group to attend. Party of 10 please.

Rachel Feinstein was fabulous and the opener for her was even better. I love the Improv. Great venue. If two drink minimum is too much for you, get a glass of wine for $8 or a soft drink. Also found out if you get the VIP drink, not only do you get to keep the glass but they give you a ticket for another show. I didn't realize that until it was too late. if you want to improve your immune system by laughing for several hours, then go. Warning though...Not every comedian is great.

I haven't been here in over a decade so I checked on tix and found they are $20 each plus a two drink minimum. They do have a full menu and bottles of wine and buckets of beer available which count as the two drinks for 2 people. We showed up 30 mins before showtime (9:30pm) and were maybe 30-40 people back and ended up sitting in the second "row"! The seating is several tables that face the stage and you sit right next to other people. There is group seating available but you have to call ahead, I believe.

The performers were an emcee (who warmed up the crowd with a short set), 1st opener, 2nd opener, then main act. Total show was about 2 hours which was well worth the ticket price. The comedians also meet and greet after the show which was so nice! We had a great time and will def be back!

Had the unfortunate experience of sitting upstairs, could barely see the stage, and the noise coming from the bar behind us reminded me of my children playing in the pots and pans cupboard. Kept looking over my shoulder expecting to see a drum line. The show itself was funny, for what parts of it we could hear over the bar noise. They should at least cancel the two drink mandatory purchase to make up for what you miss of the performance. If you go, be sure to show up early and sit downstairs.

Social distancing is done well. Barriers put up at the lower level tables, good service, food is good too. We went to see Alonzo Bodden. He was only on stage for 45 minutes during our show. Not sure if he had a problem or if something cut his show short. Otherwise we like this venue for comedy.

HATE the parking situation... Love the customer service, the variety of shows, the variety of seating and option to sit where ever as opposed to making people sit right on top of one another.
Food good, prices could be a bit cheaper but I get why it's priced higher.
Great job.

Six of us went and saw Patrick Warburton on Saturday the 24th. Or as he referred to himself that guy from Seinfield and that none of us could remember his name (which was true). The venue was great and we had a blast.

Only one complaint and this is the 2nd time it has occurred. When ordering a bucket of bud light (bucket of domestic beers) they have up-charged us to the custom bucket ($35 compared to $40). When I brought it to the waiters attention he was very helpful and got it fixed, which I appreciate it, but it's unfortunate that this has happened twice now. I'm usually not one to pay attention to receipts, but when the drinks are already on the expensive side I guess that causes me to pay attention. I can't help but wonder if this is a tactic? Or is it just a total coincidence and an honest mistake?

Other than that we had a blast and hope this was an honest mistake.

If you like comedy, you can catch some of the top comedians perform at the Improv. It's not a big club so there's never a bad seat in the house. It's first come first serve for seats but groups can make reservations (check their website for info). Tickets prices are very reasonable and discounts if you are a VIP. The food is surprisingly good and so are the drinks. Of course you'll pay more than usual and there's a 2 drink minimum but that's typical with any nightclub. For a nice date night, don't be surprised if you spend $100... but it's worth it.
On the down side is parking, which is not completely horrible but hey, it is in Tempe. What do you expect? Take an Uber or Lyft... have a couple of good drinks, enjoy a great show, and laugh a lot.

So, where to begin. Parking was miserable. Place was sooo packed like sardines (I'm a big guy) and I had gotten "free" Tix due to VIP Club. Well...2 free Tix, 2 people, 2 drink minimum (I'm allergic to alcohol and no prices on menu...), 1 spinach artichoke appetizer,1 side of fries, 1 salad entree, 1 jalapeno burger entree was with tax $98 then the tip put it close to $115.
Yes, that's $115 for 2 people with "free" tickets and basic food.
Really?? WTF???

I would give them 4 stars for the mostly entertaining and fun experiences we've had there every time we visit. Except for the one time when they stuck us in the middle of the floor, forced to share a cramped table with strangers. And their reason: preferencial seating is given to groups. That time, it was just me and my boyfriend. Thanks Improv! Way to make me feel welcome when I'm there on a date and hoping for a more comfortable and intimate seating spot. It is why I no longer personally spend my money there. And I guess if you pay with cash instead of a card, you do not get the free ticket email offers that others who pay with a card do (I signed up for their emails too). Hardly seems right. I will still go. But, they're no longer going to get my money. I will only go if someone else wants to pay.

Saw Joey Diaz last week. Great show. Long line but got in quickly. The seating here is awkward but a must because they're serving full entrees. Not my style. Cool place to go to when a great comic is in town, which is quite often. I'll be back.

Hands down the best experience my boyfriend and I had at the Improv Club. From Chicago to Arizona it never disappoints but last night they went above and beyond. Our waiter Scott was not only ridiculously friendly but incredibly tentative to anything we needed, he and Danny just went out of their way to accommodate us! We don t normally get any food but this time we had the Spinach and Artichoke Dip which was pure deliciousness with all its bacon glory. For a second appetizer we had the Copper Blues Quesadillas and I now have a new favorite quesadilla place! Lastly we finished it off with the Korean chicken fried rice. It had a little bite to it and the flavors were so much more than you d expect from a comedy club. It s couldn t have gotten any better, our favorite comedian, amazing food and drinks and a terrific staff. Can t wait to go back !

I am writing this for awareness. When ordering drinks during a show. If you don't want to be drinking alcohol, be sure to make sure the waitress when ordering. I had recently been in accident very recently and had been prescribed medication that I could not drink with. I made it very clear to the waitress 3 times before she left to put our order in that my beverage was non alcoholic.

A few minutes pass and I was served a drink that I assumed had ginger beer in it, non alcoholic drinks can be very tasty. I usually don't drink non alcoholic but in this case I needed to DUE TO THE MEDICATION I WAS PERSCRIBED. I made this very clear to the waitress multiple times.

The show was great and the comedians were very relatable. However upon the check being received I noticed my drink was much higher than what was on the menu and was actually a completely different drink.

When bringing it to attention of the waitress, I asked why this drink was on the check and if it was alcoholic, her response was yes that's what you ordered. Completely appalled and starting to feel very uneasy and disoriented due to the medications I was given due to a very recent car accident. I asked her if she remembered I specifically told her that I ordered a non alcoholic beverage. I demanded it be removed from the bill.

She left and came back saying she cant remove it that she would have to get her manager, I told her no you can remove it. She came back and removed it however then added the ORIGINAL beverage I would have received and I told her this is not correct, you cannot charge me for something I did not receive.

She comes back out with a man whom I presume to be the manager, average height, dark brown hair and darker skin, who did not even once address himself to me THE PERSON WHO WAS HAVING A VERY BAD MEDICAL INTERACTION and ONLY spoke to my boyfriend and his friend whom is also male.

Being a woman I spoke up, put my hand up to show I was actually there stating and "Hi I'm the one who was served the drink who shouldn't have and don't appreciate this behavior." He didn't say anything, completely oblivious, looked at me for a second and the continued to speak to the men who were with me.

This is sexist behavior that I will never be ok with. I will never set foot in this establishment nor will I EVER recommend this venue to anyone.

Such a scam. 2 drink minimum I can deal with; however, 5 drinks = $76 and they hardly had even a shot of actual liquor in them. Felt incredibly ripped off. Will never go again. Put some prices on the menu. I have no problem paying a little extra at a comedy club, but this was a complete utter joke.

I purchased 13 tickets on the way to the Improv. When getting there, only 12 tickets were emailed, so an additional ticket was purchased. I noticed they still charged me for 13 tickets on my cc statement. When I called and asked for a refund of the 13th ticket (they could see it was never used) - they said they dont give refunds. I now have to go through my credit card company to dispute the charge because THEY did not issue the ticket. HORRIBLE customer service.

It's always a great time when we go to the Tempe Improv! They do have a two-drink minimum, which were all aware of! The only thing I did not like is when I ordered a bucket of beers, I could only use it as my two drink minimum, My date still had to order his two drinks.

We enjoy coming here for the reasonable prices on comedy. The food isn't very good, so go for the drinks and the laughs. It can get a bit crowded, but sometimes we meet some interesting people that way.

The worst experience ever and I ve been here many times before! Got tickets for Jo Koy and had the worst seats (on the balcony against the wall) Didn t understand how people that were behind us in line, that were couples as well, got the option to go downstairs and sit! I m also not sure why the singles would have priority to the lower level the couples obviously paid more to be here. Just all the way around horrible job on the seating!! Many people continued to come in after us and were seated in better seats!

Show was great. Their nonAlcoholic beverages are over priced there's no reason for mom and I to have paid $70 for 4 drinks and artichoke dip. I'd go again to see the comedian we saw last night but we would have preferred to spend more on our tickets than on drinks and an appetizer. That just makes more sense. This is not somewhere I'd go very often.

I went last night after receiving some free tickets on Facebook. I laughed my was off. There's a 2 drink minimum. The drinks are expensive and poorly made. Super strong and taste horrible. I only came out with a set amount of money so after the expensive drinks there was nothing left for a tip. Well the waiter decided to approach my table and ask why we did not leave him a tip. That right there will always get you no tip.

Packed house for the show last night. Food quality is quite good here. We just did appetizers. Spinach artichoke dip and then a hot pretzel with cheese. Both were great. Drinks were good, but the prices are beyond ridiculous. $16 for a well Long Island is nuts( 2 per person minimum). I understand that's where a lot of profit is made, but geez. Food prices were in line with any other establishment. All in all, it's a fun night out, just watch your drink choices or you'll be shocked when you get the bill.

Great atmosphere. Been to the Improv a few times here in Tempe and it's fun every time. Can be a little tight, but nobody seems to mind. 2 Drink minimum isn't bad, this is a Comedy club after all. The drinks and food aren't cheap. The food is great, the drinks seem a little "light" so trying to catch a buzz might be expensive. Overall great time every time. Free tickets are awesome and seem to be given away quite often. Gratuity is taken automatically, and the convenience fee is $2.50 for free tickets but it makes for an incredibly fun night with friends for about the same you'd pay to go eat at any decent restaurant.

Great show watching Tony Rock. Great layout for the audience and I was throughly entertained. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the Nightclub in Vegas prices for hard liquor drinks. I know that's how they make their money, but there is such a thing as a little too much. Won't let it discourage me from coming again as I had an amazing time.

Amazing staff hilarious acts. I actually changed from 5 stars to 4 though because even though they advertise free tickets they have a two drink minimum per person and they are almost 10 a drink. It cost over 30 for my bf and myself JUST IN DRINKS. Other than that It's a great night out.

The act - hypnotist - was awesome! However, I finally gave up after 3 times asking that the AC be turned off - the place was like a freezer!!!! The "2 drink thing" - you must buy 2 drinks is a major league RIP OFF!!! Two people in our party ordered over priced drinks - 14.95 for a Mojito???? She could not taste any alcohol, nor could my other sister who ordered a rum drink! Wings were good but food was over priced to!! Place could be a gold mine - if they didn't rip people off....

If you've never been to the Tempe Improv, you need to go there. They have some awesome very talented. Very unique entertainment here I've seen quite a few of the very popular comedians at this venue. The venue is very nice. The employees are all very quick and very considerate and very responsive. And they have some awesome drinks and some awesome food. So you should get here at least once in your lifetime but more than that, really. Like maybe once a week or maybe once a month. That works too.
