Heklers got it good!!
Great location, great atmosphere, very accommodating in regards to seating and being able to see the show. Food is good, servers need additional training in being attentive, and to learn how to keep attitudes to themselves.
We had a wonderful time....except for the prices of food and drinks and how terribly close you are to the person sitting next to you or in my case I had 2 guys on eithier side of me approx 250 lbs each they were also in my chair. It was very uncomfortable. Comedian was great. I just know next time not to order food and adult beverages.
Went to see Tony Rock. Very good show. Keep bringing in the acts Improv!
Good atmosphere but if they got rid of the 2 drink limit and lowered their soft drink prices, I wouldn't cringe when I look at the bill when I leave.
Absolutely loved Michael Kosta. I really hate the seating seeing people are so freaking close and hitting you in your butt. The drinks we ordered were fabulous but pricey however to be expected via the rules. We Definitely will be back sooner than later.
Amazing staff and atmosphere. First time being there and not the last. No wonder it's iconic
Love the place. Have seen multiple shows. Favorite was Vir Das. Love the food, staff, crowd
I always have a great time. Social distance as much as possible but you know how that goes. Staff was friendly as always. Always clean. One of my favorite places to go for a good relaxed night full of laughter. Appreciate the fact they didn't let the audience get to crazy and step in to avoid the comedian's time being used up.
Good drink choices. All seats have a good eyeline to the stage. They do pack you in like tuna(too much so i think). They get great comics. The parking here is close to impossible on the weekends. This is the second best comedy club in the phoenix area.
Great date night...food and drinks..small venue so seats were great. Some seats are with your back to stage, but easily turn the chair for the show (not eating). Pricey!
Don't like the way they set tables or seat people. If your in the middle it's crowded. I wanted VIP but no option to do so and they said they could move us to VIP 20 mins after the show begins. Didn't mind the overpriced drinks and food it's part of the experience. The food and drinks were very good, came out super fast which was impressive.
The food could be better and the drinks are super high for their 2 drink minimum. Otherwise close but good seating.
don't put the handy twins and the Shawn wayes on your picture page nobody's gonna show up nice place the food decent too
Nice place. Had a lot of fun. Do not order the caddy margarita it was not good. I sent it back and got a beer instead.
Good comedians but somewhat high ticket price plus drinks cost far too much ($16 each cocktail, and they are small) compared to other comedy places.
If you are immune compromised I would recommend not going to the venue for the time being. The place was packed and no one had on a mask. We got sick after the show. Rob was funny.
Carlos Mencia was outstanding with his knowledge of world events and statistics. Very funny, humorous and didn't leave any race out of his material. Would go back to the Improv for another wonderful time.
Get there early the lines fill up quick. If you pre pay online you do not have tp check in at the window just sbow the electronic ticket when you get to the head of the line. Two drink minimum and a little too pricey. A little cramped with seating.
Love the Improv! Its expensive when you get thtough the door, but always worth it!
Good size stage and space for stand up. Weird rules about seating, though. Only odd parties at the back row? Seating is too tight. During one of our visits, 2 very big, overweight males were seated in front of us and they took up half our table. It was extremely uncomfortable and really soured the experience. The ushers/staff should take size into consideration when seating people. Don't put it on your patrons to have to ask other patrons to move out of the small seating space each is given. Drink minimum is a common standard, but should allow foods as substitute. Not everyone drinks alcohol or soft drinks.
Great service by Andrew and Colin was yet Colin was over the top
They pack a full house. Food and drinks available. Cocktails a tad on the pricey side. Great show. Service was excellent.
Everything was great except my neck hurt from turning to see the show and it's such a small place to eat.
Fun.. great service.. just a professional and well orchestrated club. Good times can actually be had in these Covid times. I would advise if you want to be six feet apart then this is not the place to go... groups are right next to one another.
Good place to grab dinner while watching stand up comedy. There is a 2 drink minimum policy though to keep in mind before getting tickets
Nice place...came as a guest
Had a long line for the 9pm show on a sat night
No worries...moved fast
Seating was a little tight...but we had a good view
Tip... Drink beer or soda/water.. Mixed drinks can be pretty pricey
Entertainment this last show was fantastic. In fact we have never really been let down by an act here at the Improv in my 15+ years of visiting. This is what will save my review from one star. My wife, and friend from our party BOTH got sick from the food eaten here. I will not go into details but will say that something was definitely not right. This ALSO was the first time we/I have ordered anything extra from the menu besides drinks. I must say that I am highly disappointed in my last visit, and I'm afraid it might be just that.
Great shows, great venue, friendly staff from security to box office, greeters to wait staff, good bookings of highly known performers to up and coming acts. Food and drinks served, mid range pricing, good location near ASU and off the freeways. Sign up for their email club and get great news and offers for upcoming acts.
Have to be really comfortable sharing your personal space, seating is close! We had a great time though!
Great time. We were seated right next to a fun group so that added to the craziness.
Good overall vibe from the venue and the service was good. Drinks are pretty pricey. My biggest beef was that Pauly Shore only stayed on stage for 16 minutes!
Usually a great time. Great staff and a solid venue. Makes for a good night out. Get there 45 minutes before show time if you want a shot at seats up front. Also, the food really is quite good, but be prepared to overpay for most of it and for your beverages. Domestic drafts start at $6. A Moscow Mule will set you back $14, and even a bottomless soda is $13.95.
Love when I get the opportunity to do shows here. Always great out of town acts.
Show was awesome! Drinks and food were good. Only complaint is the babysitter called and I stepped out to return the call. The staff saw me go out (they didn't say a word). When I returned, the locked the door and a few staff just stared at me as I knocked and tried to return to the show I paid for.
A little pricey but the food and venue are well worth the money.
Trying to get some normalcy during covid. Staff did a great job, people wore masks and the show was great. Could not have asked for more during these weird times.
Food and service was amazing, unfortunately we ended up in a dead spot for sound.
I go here all the time! 18+ allowed, 2 drink minimum but they have non alcoholic options that count toward the two drink, for either designated drivers or 18-20 year olds. They usually are giving free tickets (plus a service fee) if you join their VIP list! They have got some famous comedians come in and are pretty affordable! Crowd is young as it is right next to ASU, but I see many middle age people there looking for a good time as well. The food is delicious, and the restrooms are very clean.
Good talent at this place. But it's kinda expensive.
Sold out!! Excellent Jon Rudnitsky show. Arrive early. Moscow mule $16. Two drink minimum 3 beers and one Moscow mule $54!! Plenty of free parking.
Slow drink service and a little overpriced on cocktails. Servers were very friendly and the drinks were delicious.
I enjoy the Tempe improv. Prices are reasonable amd its a fun atmosphere
We saw John Heffron, he is freakin awesome. He had a very very funny set, we try to see him whenever he comes to town.
The food we had was good, the drinks are waaaay way to expensive.
Our server was overwhelmed with the amount of people being served but did a good job and was very friendly.
Drinks are WAY too expensive!
I do not drink alcohol or carbonated drinks, and was aware of a 2 drink minimum but NEVER thought they would have the balls to charge $5.75 each for a half liter of water.
Mixed drinks (Around The World), $16.00 ea, 500ml Bottled Fiji Water $5.75, 2 drink minimum, total is $43.50 plus tax & tip. They must feel guilty about the prices as the drinks were so strong my wife got pretty drunk on her two mixed drinks, this was not good as we are working on a drinking problem. The staff was great and gave us a handful of free tickets for a future"local talent" comedy show and we now know how they can afford to give away tickets. The comedy performances were pretty good considering most were learning the business, we were their primarily to support one of the performers but will probably never go back due to the drink prices & minimums.
I got tickets to attend the late show and it was really nice. I know Comedy Shows can be a hows can be hit or miss. However, we decided to chance it for a night out. The COVID precautions are in place with plexi barriers and masks. The set up is a layout that doesn't hinder your view of the stage. The also have booths and the place is split level. Attendees have a choice of picking their seats. Now the reason I don't give then 5 stars is the two drink minimum rule that I was prepared to challenged. I can only drink so fast in a modest 2 hour period. Their cocktails are somewhat pricey but, I get it they have to make money because I am sure they must pay the comedien some portion. If you want the big names or even up and coming acts you have to pay. The selections included virgin cocktails and there was also food on the menu with incentives which included passes for future shows. So that's we thought was a good deal. The staff was courteous and efficient in their handling of orders and checkout. Definatley worth a tip. The facility was maintained and clean. One just has to remember how they make their money. All in all plan on spending about 30 to 40 on drinks with a tip. If yiu are eating then double up on that. This ia great date night spot. We saw alot of couples and celebratory groups. The age was varied and so was the dress style. Very diverse mix of people who really came to laugh. We will definatley go again.
This place is always a good time. If you've yet to go you're missing out
Small comedy club that has a great variety of comedians coming through. There's 2 drink minimum per person here. Lots of options for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Tasty snacks that are great for sharing.
Its been a long time to step out. Enjoyed the food service and comedian's .
It was an excellent venue and show tonight. It was my first time there and I wasn't sure what to expect. The seating was good as far as the view, but, it is extremely close quarters. The food and drinks are super pricey too. I don't think I have ever paid $18 for a sangria, but, it was the special and I got 2 free passes for another show. It was super cool, just be prepared to spend some cash when you get there...2 drink minimum and it didn't have to be alcoholic.
Had a great time seeing Gary Owen. Drinks are BERY expensive, & STRONG. My son ordered a rum & coke, there was a splash of coke...lol. he had to oder just a coke to add in it. But overall the show was AWESOME
Love this place. The drinks are not watered down, and the food is better than one would expect. There are plenty of opportunities for free comedy (other than two drink minimum) so it's totally worth going to see a new comic
$15 dollars for a soda and we had to buy to of them. What a ripoff.
Great price and the drinks are slightly pricey but the designated driver tickets are awesome.
Lots of people, tiny little exit space. Theater good tho. Seating can be cramped.
So we " won " free tickets. Waited in line for 10 minutes which is not bad. Went to get our "free" tickets and they charged us $2.50 convenience fee then taxed it. Food was amazing. service slow and be prepared to pay $13 for a soda and 17$ for a cocktail.
The show was great. The venue was great. But come on, the prices of the drinks are ridiculous. Management should lower that so I can tip your servers better.
The act was great (Flip Orley). Staff is attentive and efficient. My wife uses a wheelchair and sometimes that seems to freak people out but the Improv staff is great. Seats are very close together. Would be a 5 star experience if the drinks werent so expensive. Fancy cocktails went for 16$ per and a beer was 7 bucks. 3 drinks, a beer and an order of nachos (huge and yummy) set us back 80 bucks before tip. Other than that, always a great experience
Audio and visual were perfect, nice and cool in the AZ summer. Host was funny. Service was good. The menu is a lil pricey though.
Easy access, free parking. Lots of seating, which also means it can be cramped. Best place I have found to see comedy in the phoenix area.
Great club. Been here A few times. Jamie Kennedy put on a great show
We've been here many times over the past 12 years or so. I think the ownership may have changed a few years ago. It's well run. Of course you will have a two drink minimum per person. That's normal for comedy clubs now. Don't think you'll get away with a cheap soda. They cost as much as a beer. We just saw Pauly Shore last week. The show was super funny and the security kept the bachelorette party in check so they didn't spoil the show for the rest of us.
Great well known and new comedians. Overpriced food and drinks. Even with the free ticket promos prepare to spend at least $30 without tip or tax on the 2 drink minimum. Laughers beware, it is a literal 2 drink minimum. They won't count food but if you order the mocktails you get 2 tickets to come back and do it all again!
Great time tonight at the New Faces night! Some real talent on display! Some nerve but every one of them need to come back! Especially the guy named Karma, the second to last set was a very funny dude from Chicago! LMAO and there was the stoned hillbilly... would totally play well on TV if he either had more material or if he could remember it. #LessWeedMoreJokes
Drew Lynch was amazing I would definitely go back. Got 2 free tickets for being the designated driver.
Great atmosphere and awesome stand up! Drinks were a bit pricey, but, it was worth it!!
EXCELLENT! Plenty of seating and great show line up!
The food is great, atmosphere is nice but don't enjoy the 2 drink minimum. Events end up being quite costly, which is a huge downside
Fried rice and bruschetta were delicious awesome set by all comedians.
If you enjoy comedy, good food and drinks, it's hard not to love the Improv. Max the bartender made us some amazing drinks, the brownie dessert is awesome too, albeit HUGE, might want to share! My friends and I always have an amazing time here. The comedians even came to join us at a bar downtown after the show once. All of our favorite stories and jokes have come from nights here! Always a fun and memorable night!
Was a good time and the staff was great. However the sitting arrangement is very crowded. Don't like the cafeteria like style of sitting they have. I know it's trying to get as much people to fit in, but feels to crowded.
Drinks are pricey. Seating provides a good view of the stage.
Packed in like sardines and wouldn't let us move seats to more spacious seating even though they were open. Drinks expensive and were watered down.
Always a good time...
You can't go wrong with an evening at the improv. Venture out and enjoy a comedy show. Your favorite will be by at some point. Go for it.
Been here many times and it's always a great experience. By far, our favorite comedy club!
Saw Shawn waynes this past weekend. What a dissapointment. Most of the show was entertaining, but he's not his brother. He spent 20 minutes talking about tossing the salad. Yuck factor=10
The venue is nice. Staff is great. Food was awful. Don't go there hungry or maybe just order the nachos. Ridiculous prices for food. Spent $30 for basically a plate of fries because the chicken tenders and philly sandwich were barely edible. Drinks good but yeah pricey too. We really wanted to see the Hodgetwins and being in a room full of patriotic Americans made for a great night anyway.
Great time, always funny comedians. Sign up for the email list and they ll call you and give away tickets.
Two drink minimum but doesn t have to be alcohol. Food is good too.
It s always a fun time here! Some of my favorite acts stop here and it s so much fun to see them live in the cozy venue and to say hello to them after the shows. Some of my favorites have been Dan Cummins and Adam Ray. Great comedy professionals!!
We saw Mr. Chow save a life. Is extremely funny bastard and highly recommend you see him next time he's in the valley
Went to see the Chad Daniels show...Good set. Standard comedy club set up. Drinks weren't the cheapest, two drink minimum, but again to be expected. Looked like other good acts scheduled as well.
