Love this place so much ... Must visit.. Experience it and you will know it.. Will never regret
Very interesting digital presentation of Arts. Inspirations !
It was amazing and joyful place to hang out! Must come if you're in the area.
Amazing display of lights and laser works. Displays flow along walls and you have to chase them haha. So fun! Be prepared to stay quite many hours to discover the many many rooms of different themes!
Unbelievable. Fascinating. Futuristic. But get there early!! Recommend arriving at 9:30. By 11am the queue is huge.
Unlike anything I ve ever seen. Immersive visual experience. Don t miss this!
Don't know where to begin, so let's cut to the chase: if you like watching to the same (poorly made) screensaver poorly projected onto walls and floor forever and ever with the same soul-lacking music , this is the place for you. Otherwise, save the money (3200 yen) and go to a great Japanese restaurant or whatever.
Now, let's give more details. Before 5pm there is a long long long queue to get inside. After 5pm we entered right away. However (and this is major however), there a few main attractions inside this 'museum' and they all have long queues: we waited for almost an hour to enter one with many LEDs and mirror floor and walls (this one is the only one I found original/interesting and could be great if there were not so many people destroying the landscape) . We waited for half an hour to watch a very similar screensaver projected over a dome-shaped cieling).
Other main attraction inside is the 'forest'. A room with some peculiar shape where they still project a screen saver that mimics a forest . But the render flow sucks. It is by no means special at all .
To sum up, there are tons of people taking selfies. So if you are into that, or you have kids, it may be ( big may) a decent option. Otherwise , please don't go, these places are a rip-off .
I can't say enough about this place. Simply amazing. Would love to see this expand to other cities around the world.
Such a cool museum. I visited it in November 2019. Definitely one of the highlights of my Tokyo trip. You can spend hours in here. Some rooms are timed so you ll have to enjoy everything quickly. If not you ll have to line up again.
I love the digital art museum. It is dark but great for kids. There are lots of areas and two floors. So much to see, plan a full day.
If you've seen anything else with teamLab, this exhibition is basically just more of the same usual stuff. If you have never seen teamLab, then it's great! There are three upstairs areas, not to be missed.
This was just amazing!
Such nice artworks and colors...
Be prepared that it needs some time to get in, but every waiting minute is worth it!
Some arts are interactive, some of them you can just stare at for hours (or at least 15-20minutes).
Unfortunately the nicest room was short on time.
You have to queue for the lamp room again and you have only 2-3 minutes.
It was too less for the amazing work. I really loved every second.
We spend nearly 3hours in it. You really should take your time :)
Huge exhibition with many interactive display. Suggest reserving more than 2hrs if you want to have enough time enjoying all the works.
However, there are many people inside, so please don't expect easily taking same pictures as that shown on the advertisement
Look, the museum was pretty cool and unique but I spent 70% of my time there in lines. It's just too crowded. Also, the lack of map made me get very lost and walk on circles. Also, I accidentally lined up for 20mins because I thought it was an exhibition but it was actually the bathroom. ( I guess that one's on me)
The nest room and memory of topography were my favourite.
Beautiful place! My friend and I had a great time here. We went on a Saturday around noon a did not have to wait in a line to get in initially. Mind you the place was packed when we got in which is to be expected.
There were lineups inside for a few exhibits going 60 minutes+ wait time which was too wild. We waited in line for the lanterns for about one hour, we were only given was felt like <45 seconds in the room which was barely enough time to appreciate the environment.
It also would have been nice to have a map. Some of the places i could have sworn we walked by several times and didnt see an entrance. I understand that they wanted an immersive environment to explore but it would have been nice to have just a little guide. We missed one or two of the areas because we couldnt find it! I swear the ones we saw online dont exist lol!
I still would recommend you visit this place while youre in Tokyo.
This was so much fun! Each exhibit was special but some were much better than others. There are lines to the really good ones. I spent about three hours here and could have stayed longer if I had the time. It is very dark and hard for a group to stay together. They have an app but it didn't work for me.
Amazing digital museum. At first, the price seemed kind of high, but it s worth it for anyone with even a passing interest in art. You can easily spend two to three hours here just wandering. You cannot re-enter after leaving, but there are plenty of bathrooms and break rooms with drinks and snacks if you need to rest. The only thing that isn t great is the tea house near the exit; compared to the rest of the museum, it s not that impressive and if you don t like green tea there s really no point. Overall: well worth the ticket price, show up energized and ready to spend a few hours here.
The projection mapping and unique technological art feels like a completely surreal experience. Great for a date or to give your kids a thrilling experience.
The only issue I had with the place was the sheer number of visitors. It's nearly impossible to experience without a lot of other people in the way, which takes away from the immersion the exhibits try to create. That's the only reason I'm giving this 4 stars.
I highly recommend strategically choosing the time of your visit (very early morning or late evening) if you'd like to experience the exhibits as they were intended.
It was great! Lots to see and very different from a typical museum. Great for all ages, I would not advise if pregnant because pregnant women are restricted from a few activities. The athletic part was great! We spent 1.5 hours. No flash photography allowed.
Lots of pictures to be taken, but once you've taken enough, put your camera away and just explore. Each room is illuminated with different projections that continue to change. We spent 2 hours here without noticing. Be sure to save 2-3 hours for this place.
If you like interactive art then it will be a great place for you.
I thought this was overrated, but I was wrong. So worth going, but try to go midweek to avoid the crowds!
Either you start queuing before opening time or go during lunch time, coz it's super packed and crowded. Especially during the weekend. But don't miss it! It's a lot of fun and I would definitely come back.
It was better than I expected. It is bigger than you may think and there is no map or guidance so you may miss quite a lot of rooms. I suggest you to be there at least 3 hours before it closes so you can explore the hidden gems and art works.
Crazy and crowded place. Too expensive. It's not art, it's not a museum but it's good entertainment. If it just wasn't too crowded it'd be more enjoyable
A fun place to go!! Definitely a family-friendly attraction. Best to visit there early morning to avoid long line-ups at main entrance and various rooms inside the venue.
YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS. It's the most magical and amazing experience I have ever done.
Go in the early early morning when it opens because it gets PACKED AF. it's worth every penny and more. You will spend hours here, it's massive.
Fun, and somewhat interactive light art. It was a great way to spend a few hours, and was fun for the whole family. Recommend getting there early, and seeing the lanters and net rooms first. The lines become terribly long during the busy part of the day.
TeamLab Borderless was a lot of fun. We arrived around 10am. Only waited 20mins.
The rooms evolve. It is nice to stay in one room and watch it change before moving on.
I reccomend the Tea Rooms. It was a magical experience.
Interactive. Amazing. Great experience. Pictures do not reflect the reality. You need to experience this in reality.
The best example of Japanese greed. Overpriced. Overcrowded. Underwhelming. Rude staff. Long lines everywhere. One hour wait for entry and than one hour wait for keep exhibits inside.
TL DR: You would waste your time and money! Do not go.
Amazing overall experience. Lot of cool things to expect. Deducting a star for long waiting queues and some not so worth experience.
What an amazing idea for a museum. Absolutely creative and inspiring. Try to go early as this museum has long lineups and heavy crowds. If you have to choose museum to go to then don't miss out on this one. And don't bother with their app.
Amazing mix of art and technology. My 4+ hours spent here is totally worth it
What a truly amazing experience. I spent about almost 3.5 hours exploring the different kinds of lights/art. There were so many changes/things to see. It s a place suitable for all ages!
Disneyland was jam packed, so we came
Here instead. what a pleasant surprise. Stroller is not allowed inside so I had to leave after my child fell asleep from having too much fun.
Do not miss out on this!!! This place is unbelievable and you won t see anything like it.
We d love to share our experience but we did not make it to the exhibition. The queue was a good 1h30/2h to get in with a ticket at 11am during the week. Clearly this is a popular destination, but it does not have a capacity that matches the interest of visitors
This place was so cool. My husband and I got the night pass from 6pm-9pm and we tried to explore everything in 3 hours. This place is so vast with so much to see, I felt like 3 hours wasn't enough! The light installations are very pretty. Highly recommend.
Way better value than the planets exhibit which was the same cost but over in about 15 minutes. Spent about 2 and a half hours here, well worth the cost.
Pricey but quite enjoyable. Some of the attractions which require a queue can end up being rather unsatisfying, as in not worth the wait. That said if they tell you the queue is 1 hour, you won't actually end up waiting that long. Still, you should set aside at least 3 hours or you might not have the time to fully experience the place - especially since they suggest you should revisit some of the rooms a few times.
Do spend some time in the tea room. It's not a place to chat but it's one of the most unique and serene experiences you'll have with a cup of green tea.
They could use a map though, or at least a list of all the attractions so you know that you have checked out everything before leaving.
one of the most exciting places i have ever been. interactive digital arts really is amazing. love my every moment there
Interactive and playful. Expect big crowds and queues.
Definitely would recommend going to this place if you have the time. Amazing Color, patterns and interactive artworks to see. I didn't give this a 5 as even though you can pre buy your tickets you won't escape the crowds which at times can be pretty big.
Amazing sensory experience marrying both art and science. Worth the visit!
It was ok but teamlsb planets was better experience
Amazing tech art installation/museum for all ages. Its huge, likely a line up but well worth it while it is still in Tokyo. Online booking a must
I was skeptical befor entering becouse i thought it might be an overpriced "for kids" show. But i totally changed my mind, definitely value the money! The show its amazing, every room its curated at the perfect way, the show that the light crrate its just amazing!
It's beautifully boring and expensive. Visit it just for the Instagram pic
Amazing exbhibits, but after a moment you lose interest, but if you want to get some good photos then it's the place for you
Amazing place to visit and lot of have to cover. Very creative. background music feel like we are stray another place.
Unique, mesmerising and modernist. This light and animation museum is complicated to comprehend and draw a particular theme. Most visitors will enjoy but the easily disoriented folks may find it hard to navigate and understand the layout. All in, it's an experience that defines the futurism of Japan if that is what you are looking for. Beware that there are queues 30 minutes or longer inside.
You pay a price for the entrance fee but in my opinion, it is worth it in the end. You might want to go earlier during the day because we went in the afternoon and sometimes it was quite crowded. For some installations, we had to wait around 40 minutes. Overall, we had a great experience nevertheless. One point for improvement; we got lost quite often in the museum so a little clearer guidance and direction would be useful but maybe the museum wants you to go and explore!
Realy nice, try it ! Take 2to6hours to see everything. And try the tea, was realy nice !
Impressive digital art! We explored many different rooms and thoroughly enjoyed this place. There are 2 rooms with an hour long line, so we avoided those. Those rooms look cool, but honestly there are enough other fun rooms so you don't More
It is very nice installations there.
BUT. When you buy tickets in advance - I think it is unacceptable that you have to wait 60+ minutes in line in order to get into certain rooms. They have to fix this problem.
I saw a video on Facebook thats how I found out about it! To be honest the video doesnt do it justice. It is truly the most visually stunning and interactive place you can experience and its fun for all ages. The way they run the place you never feel its over crowded.AMAZING WORTH EVERY SINGLE PENNY
I couldn't enjoy due to long que caused by too many people at same time and sure the air quality was bad inside. Meanwhile the ticket is expensive to what it is
Fun and interactive art exhibit. Glad we went. :-)
Stunning light and sound performance, make sure buy ticket online in advance and reserve a hour for line up
The photos do not do this place justice. It is simply the best art installation I ve ever seen in my life. The creativity and technology is amazing. You can easily spend over 2 hours exploring everywhere and potentially not even see everything. There s no map so you re left to explore and try to find all the rooms (some are quite hidden). Make sure you go upstairs to the whole second floor! Don t miss out on half the exhibits! The tea experience is also 100% worth the queue (and small fee). This whole experience is absolutely the number 1 thing to do in Tokyo by a mile
Mind-blowing exhibition, make sure to schedule at least 2h for your visit!
Simply awesome. Entire digital interactive museum. It's huge and fun for all ages. A must in Tokyo. A lot of rooms with different scenarios and activities. Preferently reserve/buy your tickets previously in webpage. Perhaps sameday ticket may not be available.
OMG this place is as good if not better than I thought. Well worth the price. We booked for a Monday in January thinking it would be quite and no it wasn t we got there as it was opening and people were already queuing. So I would not come on a weekend. The staff are ok but the organisation was not very good. Which put us off at the beginning. But the space inside is really big and then you can find your own way around at your own pace. Would even come back again.
Fascinating and really interactive. We spent three hours at the museum and it wasn t enough! The lights and sights keep changing so when you walked back to the old room, there s always something new to see.
Recommended tips
- Go during weekdays to avoid the crowd and long wait. We went on Monday and was able to purchase additional ticket at the spot. We visited the usually crowded lantern room around 6 pm and the queue was very short as well.
- If you have only 1-2 hours, research in advance and save photos of your fav rooms (ours were the lantern, balloon and sea wave). The walkway is confusing so you can show the photos to the staff for the direction.
- Wear comfortable shoes. There are a few places you have to climb and walk up high stairs.
- Bring a camera. Iphone phoro ability in dark museums is very limited. The photos turn out much nicer on pixel and real camera :)
Incredible light shows, interactive rooms, fun for all ages.
Worth a visit. The digit art projections are outstanding. Explosion of Colors and creativity. Well managed. Must visit location in Tokyo. This is a unique art place and only in Tokyo. Kids will also enjoy. You can easily spend an hour here immersed in the Colors and invisible technology. Nearby is the Ferris wheel and Venus fort shopping mall.
Very fun adventure. Takes about 1 to 1.5 hour to finish all the rooms. Lota of amazing photo opportunities and discovering rooms is a nice experience.
Make your mind and imagination soak in here, not just a lots of art lights , but also a pure fantasy acts everywhere
Cool, cool, cool
Fantastic digital art experience well worth the price of admission. Highly recommended.
The best interactive exhibits I have ever experienced. Fun for the whole family. Get there early as lines fill up quickly
One of the best visual experience I ever had would definitely recommend anyone visiting Tokyo
Same as the other low-star reviews. Meant for people who want to take Instaworthy pictures. Premise sounds promising, but the technology involved feels too outdated for me to actually experience the fluidity of digital art the creators tried to express.
Really cool place to spend the day. Lots of stuff to do around the area too.
Amazing place, highly recommend for everybody to visit and enjoy.
A definitely must go place. Unique experience that you will not get anywhere else in the world. Try to be there early to avoid the rush hour.
Stunning, really amazing experience.
Some rooms gets very crowded even on weekdays, expect to wait for a while, but still recommend
Worth visiting to spend few hours and enjoy every detail with your heart
You don't need to care about any route inside.
The official app is difficult to use.
It really is good! So many rooms with different kind of attractions and experiences, but you have to be prepared to wait in line for 20 minutes or more just to experience some room for 5 minutes. But it's all worth it!
Installations are beautiful, but the layout is crowded and it's extremely busy. Team Lab Planets is far superior, despite being smaller because it is organised and streamlined. The waiting times are long, and not everything works as advertised.
Pick Team Lab Planets if you're lower on time or hate queuing.
Over-crowded, over-hyped and absolutely not interactive. If you like mirrors, dark rooms and projectors, then you'll love it here.
Awesome artwork with lights. Give yourself a few hours so you can visit each room. The main exhibit had a very long line, so try and get to that one 1st.
Awesome experience. You'll be changing all your profile pages with the pics you take here. Plan on spending some time
Simply overwhelming. It is a very special feeling when you go into a museum without a route to follow. You'll never be sure that you saw everything.
Great fun place to for a date or some solo exploring.
You can expect to be there anywhere between 1.5 to 3-4 hours depending on the number of people, the amount of pictures you take, and how long it takes you to explore.
Always changing. New area being added 2020.
If you are going during high season, pre-purchase your ticket.
Visited this display with my family (14, 12 and 9) while on holidays in Japan at Christmas. Prepurchasing tickets seems to be inconsequential as you still need to line up for well over an hour in the freezing cold.
Once you're inside though it's really phenomenal. You can spend all day here if you don't mind the ridiculous amount of people that you're sharing the space with. Never seen anything like it and my children were absolutely gobsmacked at the ingenuity. Very original concept.
