It's a upscale hotel very close to union Square. I stayed there 4 nights and it was really great. The location is really practical and you easily can reach interesting places by walking or the cable car or streetcar or the bus near by.
The hotel is great, my room was really spacious and with the view at union Square.
The service was excellent and I felt very welcomed.
For breakfast and dinner I went all the time out (and there are planty options) so I cannot rate this

I love the Taj at Campton Place Restaurant. It is quite expensive (~$200/person after tax and tip). But the experience is worth it. The food is all amazing. The service is impeccable. The pacing and portions are on point. If you are looking for a fancy evening out this is a fantastic choice.

The DAT menu=a revelation..molecular gastronomy done right, but nothing 'precious'. The chef's amuse bouche, a foam of green apple, arugula and avocado, perfectly balanced and melted on the tongue. The salmon and chicken had crisp, tasty skins and was perfectly cooked. The location is ideal, just off Union Square. Service is gracious and attentive.

This is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in SF (and I've stayed at a lot of them) . The rooms are not only clean, but emaculate. The beds are just right. The couches are comfy. The staff are top notch.

Great experience! Loved the people, especially Dan! The food is spectacular and the atmosphere is great. Right in the center of San Francisco s Union Square! Easily accessible shops like Macy s, Neiman Marcus, Gucci, Saks Fifth Avenue, and the Apple store. It s also a 2-5 min walk to Chinatown. The Hotel is easily seen from the street. The rooms are nice, and the bathrooms are very clean and nice. Only complaint would be the beds which aren t the most comfortable as they are a bit small. Overall a very good experience would highly recommend!!!

An incredible hotel, particularly so because of its awesome staff (Especially Andy at reception). They dealt with my questions in an extremely gracious and courteous manner. I became unwell during my stay and they could not have been more helpful.

The food is excellent. Highly recommend the restaurant.

A civilized and quiet place for elegant dining. Service seems a bit lacking but the crabcake eggs benedict on the brunch menu are to die for, even if the wines are outrageously priced. If you want to escape the trash at some of the high flying places and enjoy some serenity, this is the place for you.

Terrible service. Drinks arrived after 2 requests midway through the meal. Angus Steak was great. Vegetarian options were mediocre. Desserts were not Michelin star quality for any of the five people served on our table. Prices are comparable to good area restaurants.

Stayed at the Taj Compton Place for 4 nights. Nice vintage property well kept and classy. Staff were all wonderful. Housekeeping impectible. Doormen very welcoming. Food was out of this world! Had a wine from 1932!! Just staying and eating here could make a nice holiday. Highly recommend.

Broken booking system, heartless cold customer service when delayed international flight forced a cancellation 23 hours before arrival. Expected better. In the future, will not book Campton Place and will consider stays at other Taj properties only after exploring options.
