Living an enriched life in senior years is provide...

Living an enriched life in senior years is provided by three areas available at Cascades! The people, the activities program, and the wellness program all provide outstanding benefits.

The people (members and staff) coming from various backgrounds, careers, experiences, interests, and families furnish opportunities for extremely interesting experiences.

The wide variety of activities must strike an interest for everyone. For example, activities focus on music, education, arts, religion, field trips for plays, movies, trivia, games. The only problem is making a selection of the vast opportunities available!

The wellness program offers exercise programs for all levels of physical ability. Professional guidance and recommendations steer incoming members to suitable group exercises and/or equipment. A fringe benefit of being in a group exercise program is the social opportunities provided. Water and land programs are available; educational programs concerning wellness are provided; hikes, and other off campus activities allow members to fulfill bucket list items. Vast opportunities are available for entertainment, exercise, and fellowship.

My husband and I moved to the Cascades, Independent Living, almost eight years ago. We both lived in our villa for four years and easily made many friends. He is now in Silled Nursing, after a year in Memory Care. Until the COVID epidemic I was able to walk over to see him every day. I got to know his caregivers and the wonderful activities personnel.

Our IL activities people have continued to provide opportunities to socially get together, wearing our masks, of course. We can go to the dining room by signing up ahead, or order from a weekly menu for delivery.

Moving here when we did was smart. At 75, we were young enough to participate and enjoy the great social life provided.

I have been extremely happy with our Wellness Director, Alexsandra and her team in providing an excellent variety of fitness classes for the residents at the Cascades during Covid. The rules of social distancing have been followed for our safety. Personally for me having the opportunity to exercise daily has been a huge help to me mentally, emotionally, and physically to get through these trying days !
A huge THANK YOU to our Fitness/WellnessTeam!

We moved to Cascades in February, just 2 weeks before our Covid-19 shut-down. We appreciate everything that our Executive Director, Cory Hoots, and the entire Cascades staff has done to ensure our safety and well-being. They immediately began delivering meals to our homes every day. We were, and continue to be offered a wide variety of fun, socially distanced activities every week, and have many exercise opportunities to chose from every day! And, an added convenience was the opening of a mini grocery store! All this has been done with a smile on their faces and a "can do" attitude. We appreciate all their efforts during this unusual time, and look forward to the future.

I want to personally thank every team member at the Cascades for their professionalism and dedication to the recovery of my husband. This was the best Physical Therapy team I have ever been around. The floor staff were attentive and showed great compassion for my family. The administrator, Zachary Wood, is superb and took care of every issue, no matter how big or small. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing short-term therapy. Thank you team Cascades!

Grandma moved in a year ago and the main complaint I ve heard is ambulances honk at 3 or 4am if they can t get through the front gate. Other than that she s found a wonderful community here. She loves her apartment (she can see sunsets), the food, and the movie nights.
My family tries to go for dinner once a week and from what I ve seen the facilities are well kept and the staff is A+.

It s unfortunate there are so many negative reviews having either no explanation or based off a single negative interaction. If you re considering Cascades for either yourself or a loved one I highly encourage you to come check it out for yourself.

Hi my name is Nola,
I came for job interview this week. I wanted a change of pace as a cna. I was very pleased. Beautiful, state of the art. Some of my mom's church members reside here. The two ladies conducting the interview were very professional and pleasant. That brought me comfort. I look forward to becoming apart of your staff as a team player and serve the upmost care. I enjoy taking care of the elderly. Thanks for taking the time for interviewing me.

A huge thank you to Scott Smothers for making the recent Celebration of Life for my dad, Ed Mues, a safe experience that provided a venue for so many Cascades members to share their stories of Dad with us. It was a great comfort for us and Dad would have been so pleased. He loved you all.

What an amazing place! Mom moved into Independent Living at Cascades in February of 2020...just before the craziness of COVID-19...and she could not be happier! The staff is wonderful, she has made new friends so quickly, she loves the meals, and the activities and fitness classes have been perfect! She feels like she is on vacation. Her apartment is beautiful, the grounds are so pretty, and she really has everything she needs. The administration has done such a great job communicating with the residents and the families during these tough times. We have not looked back once - definitely the right decision for her!!

My husband and I moved into our independent living villa in the Fall of 2019. We were so fortunate to move in before the pandemic hit. The activities and exercise have kept us active and engaged. We had exercise outside at 10am, 6 apart for an hour five days a week Our fearless leader, Aleksandra Makuch , was great at changing types of exercise, aerobic and weights, stretching. I absolutely enjoyed nd looked forward to everyday. Plus I d see friends and we d check in with each other. Ed Smith our Social Director also has been amazing keeping every resident engaged, entertained with daily games, articles, treats - the list is too long to list! Iid like to give Alex & Ed a stading ovation

During the past year since moving to Cascades-Verdae, we have been impressed by the people who live here and the lifestyle. From living an independent lifestyle through assisted living or memory care, Cascades-Verdae has it all. Choose a villa or cottage and have everything taken care of for you. Thanks to our chef, the meals are fantastic with a wide variety from which to choose on a daily basis. Don't feel like going to the dining room? Simply call in an order and it can be delivered to your door. Activities are available each day. You have it all at your fingertips. Cascades-Verdae living cannot be beat. Compare it with other facilities and you will quickly see the difference when you live the Cascades-Verdae lifestyle.

I have been living at the Cascades for five years. The staff is consistently good. They are always willing to help. If a member can not help he/she will always find someone who can. I have never had a staff member just turn me away with I can not help or do not know rather it is I will someone to help.

Two persons who have been especially helpful are Scott Smothers and Rick Haines. Both have been able to direct me to community resources that I needed. Having employees who are knowledge of the community has been a big plus.

The "curbside" market that Scott established for small grocery items has been a blessing. It was a great idea. It is so good to know one can get a piece of fresh fruit when needed. He is a person of many talents and in occasion has helped me access information I needed when I was using the computer.

Terrible experience at this facility. Not a place to go if you need assistance. Staff is not made to perform basic job functions. Management does nothing to rectify the situation. It's true what they say that it starts from the top. Look elsewhere. Even the corporate offices don't care.......

The first time I visited Cascades I was very impressed with the beautiful landscaping and architecture and the friendly people. I have been here almost one year and feel like the residents here are my family. The staff here has done a wonderful job from dining, maintenance, social activities and most of all keeping the residents safe during these unprecedented times. I would recommend Cascades Verdae to anyone who is wanting a compassionate staff and the safest environment one could wish for.

We have been here for six months now. As usual there is adjust relative to the decision to come at this time in our lives as well as actually adapting to a new home. The absolute best thing outside of an amazing environment is the family community here at Cascades. They welcome you with open arms and make you feel most welcome from day one. Immediately they oriented us to daily life and activities.

Due to the decline in our health and having local friends played a major role in choosing Cascades. We found the wellness program excellent, especially the water aerobics program and the staff's concern for our wellbeing. In addition the many activities gave us a variety to meet our individual interest. We impressed with the dining experience and the quality of the selections and preparation.

After being here for this short period of time we are amazed at the programs and activities offered by Ed Smith and Alexandra Makuch. Cory Hoots, the Executive Director is very involved and approachable on a daily basis. The dining staff, maintenance team, and housekeepers do an outstanding job of caring.

We look ahead for many days with a new family of friends in a great environment.

I have lived at the Cascades for almost two years now----and it is a wonderful place to live!! I visited many retirement communities in several states before deciding to move here. The Cascades fit my needs more than any other!! (And, one of the most wonderful things that has happened to me here is that I met a most wonderful gentleman and we were married in July!!!!!)
The members are all unique in their backgrounds and accomplishments which tends to lend itself to the atmosphere for which I was looking!! The staff is great-especially Jenny Joyce!! She is definitely one of the most competent, caring individuals that I have ever known and the Cascades management and residents are blessed to have her!!
Cascades is truly lovely!! The grounds are impeccably kept, the villas are spacious and the cottages are large and beautiful. However, after 10 plus years, the carpet in all the villa public areas are in need of replacement---which I'm sure will be happening very soon since this is a premier community and I'm sure corporate would not want to lose that status!!

Trying to care for aging parents is stressful. Trying to do this when they are in South Carolina and you are in California is absolutely overwhelming. I am so grateful for the Cascades that I scarcely know where to start. The community itself is stunning no attention to detail is missed, from the beautifully appointed villas and homes to the gorgeous grounds and gardens. But it is truly the staff that sets them apart. They are kind, they are caring and they go above and beyond the call of duty time and time again: From Kaitlin and Jenny who helped make seamless what was a major transition for my parents, to Events Director Scott who threw a welcome dinner to introduce them to members of their new community to Samantha and Brionna at Reflections who worked so hard to make sure my mom, who has cognitive decline, thrived and continues to thrive in her new living situation.
The amenities (gym, hair salon, restaurant, pub etc) at the Cascades are top notch and there are numerous events and activities going on daily. My parents could not be happier. Neither could I!

My wife and I moved to Cascades -Verdae on May 5 during the height of the Covid 19 pandemic. Every effort has been made to keep residents both safe and very comfortable. We are in the independent villa part of the community. This is a beautiful place; the buildings are of the highest quality and the grounds are park-like. We honestly cannot think of how the a retirement facility could be better. Each staff member is terrific and the residents are very friendly and helpful.

Wow, this place makes me nervous. We went to visit an elderly friend who had been moved here for some difficult therapy following surgery. We arrived at the gate and announced who we wanted to see. When I asked for directions (there are many buildings), they just hung up. We kind of guessed our way to the right area, but when we went to the entrance area, nobody could be found. There was a phone to dial for assistance, but it rang back to the same location. We wandered through many buildings and never saw a staff person for almost five minutes. When we finally spotted one, we tried to flag her down from a distance. She looked at us and then turned in the other direction (we were nicely dressed). Finally, another PATIENT finally pointed us in the right direction. We found our friend in the dining room and had our visit. During that visit, I watched how the staff treated the patients (RUDELY) and how dispassionate they were. I noted one who seemed to be a bit more caring, but most were not. I would NEVER place a relative here if I had the choice. By the way, our friend said the food here was absolutely awful.

Our parents just moved into Cascades Verdae and our experience has been great, from touring the facility through move in. It is a beautiful campus, food is delicious, staff is wonderful and the personal attention to detail has been outstanding. Yes, it is expensive, but there is a reason, and you definitely get what you pay for at Cascades.

Cory Hoots, Cascades Director, and his staff go above and beyond to help the residents and their families navigate the many varied and challenging "life events" that one will face. Scott Smothers, Community Event Coordinator, and Marion, Concierge Services, have gone the extra mile to show care and concern, plus be a friendly face for my father during these difficult Covid months. Travis, Concierge Service, willingly went to my Dad's apartment to reset his TV clicker. Jordan, Dining Room Manager, and all dining staff have worked a feat by orchestrating amazing meals, service and delivery to the residents. Jill Dodge, Housekeeping Director, keeps facility impeccably clean. The list goes on and on of all the friendly and willing staff at Cascades! As they say, it starts at the top. Thank you Cory for your leadership!

My new home at Cascades-Verdae is all was expectin...

My new home at Cascades-Verdae is all was expecting when I searched for a place to settle after selling my home of thirty tears in Greenville, SC.
My wife had passed 10 years prior and I was still able to clean and maintain the house and yard with no problem. Meals were primarily microwaved and eaten alone.
Research took me to the Cascades web page and there I saw photos of many special events with everyone in attendance dressed in their finest.
Is this the way everyone dresses all day? I'm just a jeans and t-shirt guy, will I fit in? ? Well, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that yes, I did fit in and end everyone dresses similarly daily and the finest only come out for special occasions. I can handle that.
The meals are delicious and healthy and I now have many new friends and good company with which to enjoy them. No more microwaving alone.
Although I am still able to drive to most medical appointments there are eye appointments that assistance is needed on the way home. This is never a problem as Cascades provides a car and driver to deliver and return you home safely.
The staff at Cascades are kind, courteous and provided me with recommendations for my transition. Long story short I moved out and in on the same day with everything in place and even the bed made.
If anyone is on the fence about living out your retirement make the move to Cascades, you'll not regret it. There is plenty to keep you busy without cleaning, maintenance, yard work and cooking. I promise you will not be bored. If you choose to go out to eat, visit friends or travel you are free to do so.
Regrets: I should have moved here sooner. JUST DO IT!!

When I moved to the Cascades from New York, I got a new lease on life!
It is the perfect retirement community! We have so many activities and types of entertainment, definitely something for every interest! We also enjoy our pool, gym, and exercise classes as well
as our movie theater, great dining, and beautiful villas and cottages! Most importantly, the residents are wonderful people who enjoy life and support one another! I treasure my many new friends.
Greenville itself is a jewel with outstanding cultural venues, restaurants, and universities, all easily accessible .
I am so glad that I moved here 6 years ago!!

If you need to retire this is the place to go in greenville. It's top of the line retirement for greenville. I've seen all kinds of retirement places but none out class out style this one . The care givers are nice it's always immaculate clean . They have way to many things for people to do for me to mention . They always seem to have something fun seasonally for people to do. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who can afford to go.

Nearly perfect: A few complaints but the positives outweigh the negatives.
Starting with the Concierge desk: The staff are willing to please and assist with any problems or questions, Including finding and arranging transportation to and from doctor appointments , pick up or transport people to the airport, shopping etc. all at the generosity if Cascades.

The variety of Social Activities are exciting and always entertaining , due to a good social director.

Dining experience is good, considering the number of diners.

The outside physical appearance of Cascades is outstanding. Landscaping is beautifully displayed. Upkeep of inside aging buildings, where there is high traffic, needs to be addressed. However, most overall conditions are very good because of excellent construction.

The most positive of all is the people who reside here. Interesting, friendly, along with a genuine concern for the welfare of each other.
