Swissotel Sydney Review

I planned to propose to my girlfriend and was promised a few things to make the night special but from the moment I arrived for check in, I was let down with broken promises and empty apologies with no real resolution to my complaints.
1. Promised heated pool on rooftop and spa were open when they were closed.
2. Promised room upgrade for our engagement would be ready for our arrival but we received our original room, which was missing a few romantic touches that were promised.
Etc!

Would maybe stay if it was for 1 night and no special occasion or high hopes, but would otherwise pick pretty much any other hotel in Sydney...

The parent-child hotel, which is very friendly to children, especially recommends the parent-child room. The children see the layout in the room is super happy, and the desserts sent are very delicious, the location is good, the shopping area is close.

Was really suprised by this place. Its a bit of a hidden gem really! Great location, fab service, good breakfast options and great bar. Highly recommend

Hotel was perfectly placed only 500m from the office. Staff were frendly but not necessarily polished. Rooms were beautifully designed and very very comfortable. Will definitely stay again

We stayed at one of their premier king rooms and wow their bed, pillows and quilt were so comfy!
The view from our room was great too! I could see across to St marys cathedral and then right underneath us was Pitt St mall!
The staff were so accommodating too! When I booked I requested to be able to check in earlier and sure enough we could and they had our room ready for us by 11:30!!! Couldn't ask for anything better!
I also noticed they offered free fruits and bottles of water either near the entrance of the hotel and right in front of the elevators!

The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is because we wanted to order room service at around midnight and their selection of food at that time weren't that great but overall I highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were amazing, the rooms was excellent and there was lots of nice added extras, like a complemenatry mobile phone for guests to use. Didn't eat at the restaurant, it seemed a kitype overpriced and nothong special but there are plenty of amazing places to eat nearby.

The hotel is centrally located with easy access to transport and shops. The rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds. Impeccable clean hotel that has a nice feel. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The entry to the hotel is a stage process with the front desk located at level 8. There are plenty of lifts so waiting for them wasn't a problem at any time. The street entry has plenty of staff there to ensure easy path for anyone requiring extra assistance. I'd recommend this hotel without reservation.

I was only there for dinner, but staff at every level were very welcoming. Amazing place.

I booked accommodation via Entertainment Book to celebrate my daughters 18th Birthday. The bookings website clearly stated the room would hold 4 guests. I was contacted a day later to advise the room only holds 3, and there was an internal error with the information listed. Neither Swissotel nor Entertainment Book would not honor original booking and wanted to charge me an additional $150/night for the extra guest. I have since cancelled my booking and will look at other accommodation options.

Great for that special getaway or event in the Sydney CBD

Rooms were as depicted, bed exceptionally comfortable and staff were delightful from the concierge downstairs to the bar and restaurant staff. Paid parking is available through a Wilson garage (on Kent Street) for a fee - $45 per exit or $80 for unlimited entries and exits.

The Spa was exemplary and it s no surprise they ve won numerous awards for their services and facilities. Staff at the spa were incredibly welcoming, friendly and completely professional.

Room service is exorbitantly priced but with plenty of dining options in the area you won t need to bother.

Very nice room with comfortable beds. Fantastic location close to lots of shops of restaurants.

Amazing stay with family & business highly recommendable

Spent two nights on the weekend and was very happy with the facilities. Everything is spotless and the staff I met were courteous and cheerful. I have no complaints overall. I would recommend the place to anyone who wishes to be near the Sydney CBD and access all the shopping and tourist spots.

Set right in the heart of Sydney CBD, Swissotel Sydney, is a great spot to hold a function or meeting.

An unusual entrance - you have to head up in the lift to get to the main lobby from a small-ish street entrance.

The main lobby is pleasant, with a nice sitting area, but the rooms are a little spartan in their decor. Service was OK.

Chef Stephan Tseng has waved his magic wand over this hallmark location and has reall turned this place and its food offering right around to create a very unique fusion of modern Swiss, Australian and Asian food offerings. Stephan and his team create high quality and well priced offerings. its location is one of those places you have to look for as you may not know it is there but step inside the lift head to the 8th floor and see the wonderfully open foyer and bar area- another one for the must visit list.

Only 3 bath towels when 4 of us stayed. Stained bathrobe, poor service in the bar (waited 20min for my drink which I could see on the bar, ended up going and getting it myself, ice in drink was 75% melted had to ask for another one. On a plus note beds and shower was great. Def not a 5star hotel

We had a great time just relaxing and enjoyable meal. The service was great and staff very friendly. Looking forward to having a meal there again on the 15th of August as they have truffle tasting, should be most enjoyable.

We visited Spa and sport section for Swissotel, Sydney recently. The overall experience was very good and we enjoyed a lot. Full day relaxation and enjoyment, that was the goal and Swissotel fulfilled it !!!

Great hotelin an amazing location. Large rooms. Functional gym. Lovely pool and spa. Attentive staff and nice breakfast.

Great staff and a lovely clean room. Grab Bath bombs from Lush for the wonderful bath. Happy hour at the bar is well worth it.

The bar is great! Melissa was super fun and made us awesome drinks. Had a great night with my friend!

The Swissotel earns its five star rating with ease! Personal and attentive service that goes above and beyond. Our concierge raced down the street to guide our Uber driver to the front of the hotel as the pick up point is particularly congested. Excellent breakfast with the Chef at the egg station greeting each guest. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed as the Swissotel for Business. You need to catch a lift upto reception and then another lift to your floor. Right in the middle of Sydney.

Breakfast was awesome. Great location. Although our room was a little small.

Great hotel, great service, interesting breakfast buffet but confusing when it comes to dropping the car off for the valet. I wasn t informed of where to leave it and if you miss the drop off area get ready for a big lap in the city

We went for Hi Tea on Friday. It was OK. Very little food (see pic - that is for 2 people) and service was slow. All you can drink beverages.

Got me in well before check in time when I was exhausted from a long flight!

Worst hotel I've ever been too!! No parking on site you have to park several blocks away 50$ a night and they expect your to walk back. Service was below average, stayed in an overpriced suite, was woken up by a disgruntled staff member, making her way into our room with a do not disturb sign on the door, when I had pre arranged a late check out, saying I had to leave and she would call security. Called front desk, they said it was a paperwork misunderstanding but the way it was handled was honestly so appalling. Nothing was done other than a half hearted sorry over the phone, when I asked for a later check out it was refused and nothing was refunded or complimentary I had to pay for my late check out even though it was rudely interrupted.. The staff obviously are underpayed for the attitude we received.

STAY AWAY FROM SWISSOTEL!! Go to other similar prices hotels like Shang ri la or the Hilton for a cheaper option.

I will never be approaching this sorry excuse for a 5 star hotel ever again.

Had dinner here with a voucher, the wait staff were friendly and professional, the food was well presented and tasty, the ambiance was cool but informal.

The staff was very accommodating. I didn't have a reservation but they found an available table in the lounge area of restaurant/bar. The decor was really comfortable but classy. The menu was fairly standard. The food came in a timely fashion and was very good. I enjoyed every moment of the time I spent there and will definitely go again.

Such an amazing place.The hotel it beautifully presented. Definitely a new favourite. Loved the atmosphere, food was good.The staff were attentive and friendly both in reception and the wet deck. Would recommend to anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle even if only for a few days.

We stayed for a weekend during Vivid, pleasant experience from start to finish, friendly receptionist, great facilities and easy check out.

Another amazing stay at the Swissotel. This is just the most amazing, welcoming hotel. From the friendly concierge staff to the housekeeping staff who gave us a handful of Lindt chocolates when they tidied our room. My daughter said, 'can we stay here forever Mum'?. Pretty much sums up the experience. Thank you Swissotel.

Room was lovely... beautiful comfy bed. Bathroom great shower/bath. Service was fantasic !! We were upgraded !!!! Top floor !! Pool was so lovely too !! We were very impressed... to top it off I received Birthday cake when returned to our room... it was so delicious and we had housekeeping pop in while we were out making bed and preparing our room for sleep with a little surprise in our pillow... the small touches made you feel special !!!

Swissotel is quiet and pretty nice. Convenient location. A bit romantic, maybe. Drawback -- for $250 you get a room that's so small, there's only space for one bedside table.

It was good but it's been better. I recommended this hotel to a friend because of my numerous stays through work. I haven't been there prior to last weekend since 2015 but when I was there it was perfect. I just feel like there has been cost cutting measures put in place since. Most staff were great apart from Sunday morning during buffett breakfast when a waitress rolled her eyes when my friend asked for a coffee. Bar staff on Saturday night were not busy in terms of regular bars but we waited to be served and in the end left as we could not grab anyone for a second order. That was frustrating. Room service was cold and toiletries had changed for the worse. I know it's not much but I had higher expectations and I was disappointed it didn't live up to what I had told my friend.

A quality hotel literally in the center of Sydney CBD. Refreshingly different with its beautiful touch of Swiss quality. Perfect for a couple nights in town, shows at the Opera House and what not. Customer service is ace. All staff doing a great job, even during the testing 2020. Thanks for a great stay! Definitely would recommend.

Quiet a nice decent hotel however prior to check in this time my room carpet was not very clean .if you like to sleep in peace and hate even a small noise then you might need to think twice because u can hear surrounding noises quiet clearly or even sometime loudly. room service is good and breakfast buffet in the morning is Excellent.Staffs are quiet friendly too Location wise its convenient ..shopping centre, food court , darling harbour and St James station is walking distance Hotel is located on 68 market St .

Super comfortable rooms. Extremely quiet, especially given the location. It doesn't get more central than this; easy access to everything in the CBD and a quick walk to the Town Hallstation to access the rest of Sydney. Friendly and helpful staff.

Service above all and level 8 is an awesome place to sit, eat and drink.

Got high tea groupon and booked for Sat 1.00pm..little bit disappointed, not that many choice...but great environment and good service...T2 tea and cocktail are nice...

Great place to stay. In centre of the city, so close to everything. Rooms were lovely and housekeeping did a great job with cleanliness. Staff were very professional. Will definitely stay there again.

A classy joint with five star service. The rooms are minimal yet tasteful, there is always a doorman to greet you, and the secret entrance to the hotel makes everything a bit more special.
