Amazing place and ambience, one thing to mention about is the baggi service. Staff are so kind and helpful, place is worth a visit and four nights stay is a must.
I stayed at both beach bungalows and the water bungalows, my preference would be beach bungalow just to avoid the bad odour of water around the water bungalows, though they are the ones on high demand.
The island itself is beautiful and you can't say anything else than that this place has to be a piece of paradise. Crystal clear water, fantastic beach and everything in itself simply fantastic ...
But ... The service and the humanity leave a lot to be desired. You just have to put it that way. You can tell from the hotel and the management very strongly that this place has no problems that tourists come to the island. You have to dig deep into your pocket for every little thing and flexibility and accommodating does not seem to exist at all in the language of the hotel. If you question things, the answer is true to the motto that it is like that on the island and either you live with it or have bad luck. The prices that are being asked are a cheek. Just for example, a simple tomato and cheese pizza $ 22 and a 0.3 beer for dinner $ 5. It quickly becomes clear what the other prices look like. Can of heineken beer 0.33 from the mini bar with taxes and fees over $ 10.

I ve booked this place for my honeymoon. We stayed in beach villas and water villas and had an amazing experience. We just lovedddd the place for it s snorkelling experience near the diving spots. A few pros were;
1) Diving spots within the resort where you can just rent snorkelling gears and can spend your entire day in water.
2) Amazing food
3) Best Ambience and courteous staff
4) Cycle your day out from sunset point to sunrise point
5) Dance floor with in-house bar and pub
6) Restaurants with best views
7) Good places to explore within the island resort.

It's like in paradise, blue water white sand a touch of tropical forest can be found here in the garden where many things are eaten on the island itself to be grown.
The house reef is beautiful the snorkeling between sharks, turtles and countless fish is also recommended diving should not be missed.
There are many offers like Follow the Dolphins, Robinson Excursion and many more that you can do for a fee as it is still very nice.
The island is a very expensive, but a dream.
It was a very beautiful place, handsome and friendly staff. It was an awesome experience to go to the area where the sharks were fed and held. wonderful aqua pools and long white beaches!

My reservation 6.10-15.10.18 I left with my daughter and granddaughter on holiday, which turned out to be a tragedy!
the island itself is beautiful (lots of fish and one small attraction, that is the daily feeding of manta rays and sharks) and here the attractions end.
Unfortunately, the rooms are not as clean as in the picture, they are all worn out. We had ALL INCLUSIVE reservations, but what does that mean in their opinion ???? non-carbonated water (which is brought already undercall where it can be presumed that it is poured from the tap. I asked sparkling water for the meal ADDITIONAL PAYMENT!?
the coffee in the restaurant is of the worst quality (heavily roasted, bitter)
Cappuccino, latte macchiato have to be paid, ice cream $ 5 plus tax $ 6 for ice cream. The food at the restaurant left a lot to be desired.

The island is very beautiful and large, the structure is a bit dated, equipped with many free services (tennis, golf, basketball, football, table tennis, etc.) bikes cost $ 5 plus tax every 24 hours. On the price of each excursion it is necessary to add 10% of taxes plus 12% for the staff because they tend to omit it and you find it at the bottom of the account that I advise to check carefully, in ours they had put 50 dollars more for liking and they didn't even apologize ... Room cleaning is excellent, even several times a day. Period from 2/09 to 7 even if low season it rained only 3 hours an afternoon making us fully enjoy the beautiful islands ...

Nice island, there is everything you need. At the reception it seems that only those who speak Russian are normal. The food in the dining room is below average. We were here ten years ago, now there is Internet everywhere and the waiters don t go in skirts. Previously, there was only one Russian-speaking employee Hakim, now there are many and good ones. My husband and I were there, a week of honeymoon. The island is beautiful, perfect size neither too big nor too small, we rented some bikes, great success to move around! We really liked how they treated us, all very nice and professional, we also did scuba diving and the Dive Oceanos team there (especially Shahid Gasim), all very nice, it was a very nice experience. The hotel has everything you need, some furniture a little old, but you don't need more, the island and nature give you everything. They have awards for sustainability, and care for the environment. I came back very happy, my vacation was a dream, and the island is really as beautiful as the photos on the internet or more (I dare say). Our intention is to one day return to the Maldives and surely to Sun Island Resort. CONGRATULATIONS on your work!
It is not the most beautiful resort in the world, but it is a nice resort. Good value for money, especially in the sunset Beach, around the number 450. Incredible sea, mandatory snorkeling, and very good and varied food.
Cheated us with tariff and charged us extra on the name of taxes... No communication about the transfers to island from airport from the hotel management... Seriously suggest not to visit
If you are planning to visit Maldives for your Honeymoon /Vacation, and you are on a limited budget, then Sun Island is a great option. Lets face it, Maldives is expensive. VERY EXPENSIVE! But there are resorts(islands) that offer a chance to experience the paradise without ruining your bank balance.
THE RESORT:
Sun island resort is on a small island about with about 2 Kms of beaches all around. Plenty of water sports options, handful of restaurants, lot of walking paths make this an ideal resort for honeymoons, family vacations etc.
ACCOMMODATION:
Beach Bungalows - These are cottage rooms strewn across the edges of the island, most rooms facing the beach and within 2 mins walk from the sea (ocean?).
Water Bungalows - These are cottages on concrete stilts that stand right on the water, a few meters out into the sea. Offer a little more privacy compared to beach bungalows. Has a direct access(stairs) from the room down to the sea for you to swim around.
Once you arrive in Maldives, the connecting flight will be on FlyMe the airline owned by the resort group. You will land on an island airport adjoining Sun Island, then will be transferred by speed boat. The whole process is well organized and your baggage is handled well. Once you arrive on the island, you are escorted to the reception area where you fill up a few forms after refreshing yourself with a cold towel and welcome drink. Then a representative will sit down with you to explain the layout of the resort and various other information. You are handed a small card (paper) that acts as your ID card for dining etc. You will be driven close to your room on an electric buggy. Rooms are clean, nothing too luxurious. Be careful about the minibar/coffee machine /underwater camera etc placed in your room. They are not free and even a slight damage to the packaging, you will be charged for the item. You can rent bicycles to roam around the island. But be warned that the seats of the cycles are very rigid and your bums will pain for a few months after the vacation if you use the cycles extensively.
DINING:
You will be allotted a designated table in one of the restaurants on the island. Throughout your entire stay, you need to sit only on this table, which effectively will be YOUR table all the way. A designated waiter will be serving you during your meals. All meals are a buffet. Nothing much to write home about the food. Omelettes are fantastic. Otherwise, during our week long stay, most of the food was repetitive. Very limited options if you are a vegetarian. Also, the dining area tends to get chaotic with tourist groups. In my observation, the Chinese tourists were VERY loud everywhere (apologies to anyone who gets offended, just my observation). There are few other restaurants that are a la carte. You can visit these anytime as a normal customer. If you are on a Full Board plan, you can collect a discount voucher from your designated dining hall and use the voucher in the a la carte restaurants for a discount of 20%
ACTIVITIES:
All sorts of water sports, scuba diving, snorkeling, boat rides, tennis, table tennis, basketball etc. You can laze around on many of the swings, walk along the pathways or walk all along the beach circling the island. Do not miss the sting ray feeding every day at 9:30 PM. One, ok for the stingrays but mainly because of the photoluminiscent beach that light up when you walk on it, You can have free wifi access at two designated locations.
SUMMARY:
Ideal resort for a value for money vacation. Expect to pay about 300-400 USD per couple per night for a water bungalow on full board plan.

You can't see sunset from Most of sunset villas. Can't even see ocean. Food could be little better, water sports are first class, including scuba diving. Island is big so you can enjoy walk, jogging or cycling. Internet sucks sometimes. Most of the staff just can't stop staring at your woman. Overall we had a good time..
The bed was hard as a rock and old and dirty! That was Actually Springs on my back every night. Absolutely no entertainment after dinner. Not very organized or informative. They provided Covid testing at the resort but did not let anybody know. Instead, the group missed the first flight out of Male due to not having the Covid test. It cost each person about $250 for taxi, testing, and flight change. The all inclusive did not have much of a selection as far as drinks and if you wanted to order a drink it was about US$10.
On the plus side bindeu at the spa was wonderful!
If you arrive when you arrive from the airport to the resort, it is a system that connects you to the distance so it is not a problem ... Relatively very affordable and satisfied. The island is bigger than any other place, so there is no such thing as bicycling. Because food is seriously unfavorable to Koreans, all inclusive bra should be much more to eat. Water bungalow 3 days I had a normal room for 3 days but the room was good but the restaurant was different but the water bungalow restaurant was still eating. If you are in a hurry, take a water bungalow. There are very few Koreans and English speaking people are hard to see. The Asians were almost Chinese and mostly Germans. Family units were seen a lot. The sea is fantastic.
